Web banner looks different in Safari

I replaced a Web banner on a site I do work for and it looks different in Safari then in FireFox and IE.
The banner blends in to the background in the other browsers but the color appears "off" in Safarai.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have never had this problem before.
Here is the site: http://www.ehealthinnovation.org (the banner is at the top).
Thanks.

I'm no expert on this by any means (so anyone out there please correct me if wrong) but I think it's to do with the color profile attached (or lack of) to the jpg used in the banner.
This post by -g has some more information that might be useful.
If all else fails, try changing the image to be a gif instead.

    Hi,
This seems like a normal behaviour, after creating the DA view, you can click View diagram under the Tasks panel to check the view, and we can change the layout of objects in the view and save it.

  • My web page looks fine in Safari, not in Firefox...?

    Hi!
When I look at my website ( http://www.visitnafplio.net ) in Safari, it displays the pages just as I made them in iWeb, but in Firefox stuff keeps moving to the wrong pages.
I've asked a couple of friends to check it on their computers, and they have the same result.
Can someone please tell my why, and if there is anything to do about this? The page is in Norwegian, but if you check for instance this page http://www.visitnafplio.net/visitnafplio.net/Nafplio/Nafplio.html
you can se that the date under each sub-heading is hidden in Safari (as they should be), but not so in Firefox.
    Thank you for any help!

    Nobody?
The problem is mainly that I have added small squares in the background colour to hide the date from the blog entries (it is not a blog). These squares don't stay in their right place in Firefox. If I could hide the dates in some other way the problem would be solved.
I see other people in the forum are having the same problem, and the answers (something about .ccs-files) was totally Greek to me. I can't even find these files.

  • IWeb website looks different in Safari vs Firefox

I created a test website in iWeb the other day.
When I launch it in Safari, everything appears as it was created in iWeb. However, when I launch it in Firefox, Firefox does not use some of the fonts I selected (like Helvetica Neue Ultra Light) and it also does include any drop shadows used to enhance photos, etc.
Anyone have a feel as to why the difference?

That's not one of the web safe fonts. They are listed in thisWeb Safe Fonts
Common fonts to all versions of Windows & Mac equivalents
    Safe web fonts
Use one of those and it should display better. Also FF3 doesn't display drop shadows and some other enhancements. If you add a drop shadow to the text via the Font pane and then make the shadow opaque with the far right slider the text box will be converted to a graphic file and show the same in all browsers. If you select the Text: Show text imaging indicator check box when you have text boxes that are image there will be a small icon in the upper right hand corner of the text box.

  • Firefox spacing looks different from Safari and Chrome

The vertical spacing in the title layer is fine relative to the large image in Safari and Chrome but it's crowds the image in Firefox.  Can someone tell me how to fix it?  I want to retain the swapping feature of the image which is not in a layer.
    The site is http://dinghydogs.com

Looks the same to me in FF 15.1 & current Chrome on Windows.
You have quite a few coding errors that should be fixed.  Errors can compound display issues in some browsers.

  • Published a site in iweb but looks different in the web browser

    Hi,
I have published a site in iWeb but it looks different when viewed in the web browser having published a few times.
The pictures have small frames around which display perfectly i niweb but do not show in browser?
The navigation menu is all showing in iweb but again not showing in the web browser?
Not sure what I am doing wrong? I have tried to publish a few times.. checked that all the tick boxes show 'display navigation menu' etc?
    Thanks

I noticed on the Pricing page that I cannot click the Gallery link. Something covering it?
    Other pages have similar behaviour.
And there's no link for the home page. Perhaps you're hiding it.
And see if you can use a shorter, and different, Sitename. It is clear who you are. And just welcome is enough.
    And empty the browser cache.

  • Quicktime video looks different in Firefox and Safari, is there a fix?

My full problem is described in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4451761
but to keep it simple, my immediate issue is that Safari and Firefox are displaying my video differently. Firefox appears darker and Safari appears brighter. With my monitor set to a gamma of 1.8 (default for OS X) Firefox looks perfect and Safari looks washed out, and with my monitor set to 2.2 (Windows default and all-together better looking) Firefox is too dark and Safari is perfect.
All I want to know is WHY they look different and how to fix this.

Thanks for your response. While this may work with audio and video originating from your own computer it doesn't seem to effect audio and video viewed from the Firefox 5.01 browser which uses a QuickTime plugin. Audio and Video viewed from Safari and Firefox 3.6.19 work fine which leads me to believe the QT plugin and Firefox 5 browser are not working correctly.

  • Why does my site look different in chrome, safari and explorer?

    Hi,
My site looks ok in Firefox but it looks different in  chrome, safari and explorer...
I have already tried to clean the cache and delete cookies, what I have to do?
    Thanks for helping!
    Livia

    Hi Livia
I have checked the file and can see that you have used a slideshow for browser background , the page fill is the hero image where the thumbnails are disabled.
If you remove the slideshow then the issue is resolved as the red bar in top and white bar at bottom comes fine with all browsers.
Please remove the slideshow from page background and use the same image as browser fill which will fix the issue.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Why does my web page, created on iWeb, look correct on Safari but has thick black lines all over it in Firefox?

Why does my web page, created on iWeb, look correct on Safari but has thick black lines all over it in Firefox?

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?  I assume those black lines are around photos or objects that have had a frame or drop shadow added to it, right?  If so that's a known issue.
There's a workaround for that in this tutorial: #7 - Converting Photos w/Frames, Drop Shadows and/or Reflections into a Single Image File.  That should get rid of those black lines/boxes.

  • Website created with iWeb looks different in IE and Firefox than Safari-why

So I spent a few hours working on my Home and About Us page. Then, while browsing this forum, I started seeing posts about how sites done with iWeb might not look good in IE and/or Firefox. I decided to test out my work. I zipped up my site files and emailed them to myself. I went to my Dell desktop and downloaded the files to that computer. I opened up the home page in Firefox first. The site seemed to look ok, and both the home and about us page links showed up and were functional (i.e. I was able to browse back and forth between the two pages). However, I had some bullet points on the about us page that had a green border around them. This rendered fine in Safari on my Mac, but in Firefox, the bottom line of the box was not connected! Why?
After viewing in IE, I was depressed. The site didn't look at all like it should have. Not only that, but I couldn't navigate between the pages, since the links for home and about us were not at the top. What can I do to make sure that a site I create with iWeb looks good in Safari, IE, and Mozilla Firefox?
    -A stumped newbie

Well I see that you and I share the same problem, I posted the same type of question and am anxiosly awaiting replies on this topic, as it is very important
I own a small business, and every hour a customer cannot view my site is a customer lost to incompatibility issues.
I hope someone can help answer these issues.

  • Website looks different on different computers (even on ipod touch)

I created a website using iweb and I understand that different browsers show things differently but on my computer (MAC) when I open it in Firefox and Safari I see the same thing, but when friends who are also using Firefox, Safari, and Macs check it out they see something different. I checked on my work computer which is a PC and used Firefox and i still saw the same thing (the way it should look). A friend sent me a screen shot of what she was seeing which was basically what shoudl have been the entire webpage but it showed in the upper left corner of the browser instead of it filling up the whole page. I then went to the website on my ipod touch and saw what she was seeing. I had a few other friends check it out, mostly macs but i had them look with both Safari and Firefox and some people saw it the correct way and some didnt. Any ideas?

  • Web Design to display on Safari, IE, Firefox

I don't know where's the best place to post this, so I'm starting here and I'm open to suggestions.
My web design company, which happens to be PC based, is giving me mixed messages about designing a website so that the layout display is consistent across the major browsers, eg. Safari, IE, and Firefox.
First, it's my understanding that a pro web designer knows how to design a website so that you can navigate it using Safari, IE, or Firefox, and have the layout appear the same (except for maybe a pixel or two difference).
After one of their staff told me it could be designed to look and work consistently in all 3 browsers, another one of their staff claims that the exception is Safari. A site that looks right on IE and Firefox won't simultaneously look the same or "right" on Safari because it's a problem with Safari.
He claims that he talked directly with the "Safari" people at Apple who confirmed this "problem" with Safari and said that Apple is working on this.
Other designers tell me that a pro designer can design a site to be consistent on all 3 browsers.
What's the truth about this? If this is not the right discussion forum, please tell me where I can get the answer.
    Mac G4 450 SP   Mac OS X (10.3.8)

The site looks good and functions with no problems when I check it on Safari and IE.
However, your site is much simpler than mine. My "under development" site has a more comlex layout with more info and pics etc., thus more places for possible error. I think my designer has made progress to make it similar on Safari, Firefox, and IE, but the design process seems to have stalled for some reason as yet unknown to me.
I hear different opinions from various staff members at the design company where I'm having a site designed (or attempting to make this happen). Recently, one of their staff people insisted that it's not to be expected that something should look right on Safari.
That did not sound right to me, so thanks for your input. This helps to confirm my belief that any pro designer should be able to create a site so that placement and layout are consistent among at least the major browsers, Safari, Firefox, and IE.
