Web Based Access & TimeOuts

Read all the blurb about using a cut down Mail Client to avoid timeouts and I can understand why this might/will work.
However, I'd like to know why having migrated from Yahoo Mail to BT Mail that the decision has been made to provide a less robust, slower and less functional service.
Why does your Web Client now Timeout so quickly when previously it didn't
Don't BT Customers deserve a premier service for the premium costs they pay?
So dear BT when replying please don't repeat the "Use a small Mail Client" response be constructive and be honest tell us all why you have done this.
Doug

Hi,
Terminal server or Citrix server is mandatory for their remote access to B1. Only Remote Desktop Connection is not good enough.
Thanks,

  • No Web Based Access PAP2

    I have a PAP2 connected to a WRT54GS.
I pick up phone, dial ****110# and write down the IP address provided.
Load up IE and type the same address into the address bar.  IE can't connect to it (it bounces to my Google search page).
I log into the WRT54GS and check the DHCP Clients Table, and it identifies the PAP2 as having the address stated and entered above.
    Am I missing something here?

The IVR 7932# feature is password protected by your Internet phone service provider. (The Web-based Utility is disabled by default because you will not need to use it unless instructed to do so by your service provider.) You may want to verify the password of your PAP2 from your Internet phone service provider.
Since the Web-based Utility is disabled by default, only your Internet phone service provider can unlock that and they’re the only one authorized to configure and Enable the Web Server.
For Factory Reset, pick up the phone attached to your Linksys, dial ****73738#, press 1 to confirm and then hang up the phone.
For PAP2 manual, refer to the link below:

  • How do I set up a Web-based access page to allow access to the internet through my router?

My wireless router is a WRT54G.  I own/manage several condos in a building and guests change all the time.  I want to set up a network with internet access similar to hotels and airports where access is granted after being directed to a web page and entering a password.  How do I set this up?  (I have several domains/websites if this is needed.)

Not with standard firmware and no other equipment.
If you want standard firmware and warranty and service you have to look at more expensive equipment.
For some WRT54G you can flash 3rd party firmware which opens up the Linux on the router. See the wikipedia article for "WRT54G" for a start. Also check out dd-wrt. Some people there use the WRT in hotspot setups with dd-wrt. They should be able to point you into the right direction.
Otherwise, what you are able to do with the WRT and standard firmware is radius authentication with WPA or WEP (called WPA Enterprise or similar...). This however, does not redirect you to access through a web site. You have to enter the username and password when you connect wireless to the router on your computer. If it matches you get access. Again: there is no web site involved here and if you don't know the username/password you cannot access anything not even an internal, free homepage. This also does not work for wired access to the router.

  • Web based access

Is there a way to setup an email service so people can access there e-mail through logging in on a website using the Xserve?

    SquirrelMail is already pre-installed. http://www.squirrelmail.org/
Just create a new site and point it to: /usr/share/squirrelmail
    And that's it!

  • Web-Based File Sharing

    Hey All...
I've got a brand new Mac Mini Server I am trying to learn. I am wondering if there is a way to create web based access to my file sharing (specifically the Group folder). I would love to add it to the auto-generated myPage, but webDAV would work too.
    Any ideas?
    All help is appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Kevin

We've been using it for a couple of weeks with good success. It can authenticate from your LDAP user database via proxy, or you can add users separately in the Crush environment. The browser interface is much better than Rumpus, It's cheaper, and it's very customizable. You can even set up rules which send out emails when files are uploaded, downloaded, etc. at the global or user level. Very sweet indeed.

  • E1200 V2 with no "internet access policy" in built-in web-based setup

I just bought a factory refurbished E1200.  The label on the bottom says it is a Version 2 model.  When I purchased it, it was loaded with 2.0.02 firmware but I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.04
My problem is that I'm trying to setup MAC address-based restrictions thru the manual/web-based setup and when I click on the "Access Restrictions" tab, I only have simple "Parental Controls" and not the advanced "Internet Access Policy".
Is it possible that I have a mislabeled V1 device?  If that is the case, how is it that I was able to upgrade the firmware using firmware from the V2 downloads section.
Do V! and V2 units use the same firmware but  more importantly, how do I upgrade the built-in software so that I have the advanced "Internet Access Policy" controls?
    Thanks!
    Eric

Very strange indeed then!  My subtab only has "Parental Controls" listed.
I've compared it to the one shown here  ( http://ui.linksys.com/files/E1200/2.0.00/inter_access.htm ) - and mine does not look like this at all!
I think i have a mislabeled V1 model or at least V1 software loaded,
Does anyone know if it is possible to download and reload the software that is built in to the router or do I need to return it and get a (hopefully) new one?
    Thanks!

  • Cannot connect using Accessing the Router's Web-Based

I'm trying to update firmware, I have done all the step to access the router's web-based.. I connected DSL to the Ethernet port on the router, from the router I used another Ethernet cable to connect the router to my laptop.. I can't get an internet connection.  The reason why I'm doing the update I have been using WRT54G2 V1 with no problems, all at once I can't connect to the internet using the router.  I was told that I need to perform a firmware update.
    Thank you for the help

What' s the ip address and the default gateway are you getting on the computer ?
Connect the DSL modem to the Internet port of the router then use port number one on the router to connect the computer.
Click on Start > Run > type CMD hit Enter command promt window will appear on the screen.
In the command promt window tupe "ipconfig" hit Enter. Now you will see the ip address and the default gateway on the screen. Use the default gateway to open the setup page of the router.

  • WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page

    WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page.
I have tried everything posted to the forums and the Knowledge Base for several weeks now with no luck.  I can power push router and gain access to router's web-base interface but only for a few minutes than it quits loading part way through and or does not load at all.  If I turn off the wireless side I can access the router at will with no problems. My warranty is almost over. I am at my wits end. I would like to get it replaced under warranty if I can. (^8

Thank you for your recommendations peanuts. (^8
I bought the router back in December 10, 2006.
I updated the firmware to v1.00.20 back in June 2007. After I did a successful firmware upgrade I reset the router to factory default settings and then reconfigured it. It has worked Ok till a couple of months ago.
I have read everything I can find here on the support forum and in the Knowledge Base several times.
I have tried changing all the different settings to the different recommendations posted here and in Knowledge Base with no success. Each time I would do a long reset back to factory defaults, let it soak for a few hours and then make one change at a time and let it soak.
I have been monitoring 6 other wireless AP(s) around me (none mine) for a couple of months too. None of them are strong enough to connect to. My SSID is different from them. I have tried all the channels. My router is passworded and MAC'd.
It is looking like it is time to call support and try to get a replacement under warranty while it is still in affect.

  • Cannot Access Routers Web Based Page?

I have a wireless Linksys router Model WRT54G and it will not let me access my routers web based page. When I enter the default IP address into the Address Bar nothing happens (I've checked to make sure my router is on the default IP), i just get a blank screen, no pop-up or anything. Help?

Note that the router's "web pages" are built into the router.  You do not need to be connected to the Internet to see them.
To view the router's web pages:
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Check to see if your "modem-router" is using the same 192.168.1.x address space as your Linksys router. If it is, then report back with this problem, and also state the make and model of your modem-router.
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If the reset does not fix your system, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • Need access the E1000's web-based setup page.

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router, and I seem to have either written down the password incorrectly or am using the wrong one. Regardless, I can not access the web-based setup for the router. Is there anyway to reset the username and password for it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, there is.  You'll have to reset the router back to defaults, which will reset the password back to the default password for your router.  Unfortunately , you'll also have to reconfigure the settings, since all settings go back to factory default.  Just hold press the recessed "reset" button for your router for about 30 seconds, then release it.  After the router has re-initialized itself, you'll be able to log in to the web GUI again with the default password.

  • How to administer an Access database via web-based interface?

There are times when I need to edit a database record to do something my CMS wasn't designed to do, so I have to manually edit it. Normally I just ftp the Access mdb file to my pc, make edits, and reupload the mdb file and hope nobody updated the database in the meantime.  Does anyone know of a web-based database admin system that will allow me to edit Access data?  Sure would be nice if I could install something on the server that would allow me to edit any datasource there and not have to have a separate, customized interface for each datasource.
    Thanks for looking, Bill

I would recommend naming that page with an extension that the web server will not serve.  Rename it to use it and then rename it back when done.
Or just put access restrictions on it via the web server, so one needs to authenticate to the system before using it.
Or stop using Access and use a decent DB: Access is not appropriate to be used as a DB for a web application.  But that might not be an option.
