Web-based blog entry

I want to maintain a daily web log, with tekst, photo's and small video moves.
This is easy to do with iWeb and publicing on web.mac.com/myname/
However, does Apple has a solution for adding new blog entries while on the holiday, let's say from a average internet cafe? I could only found publishing on homepage.mac.com/myname/ but that looks rather primitive and appears to be a different site than web.mac.com

I know Wyodor, hence my question.

I was wondering if there is a web-based soluton. (like all major blog sites)
Meaning that you do not have to carry around hardware (Mac or PC) with your client software.

  • Please recommend: I want to build a web based order entry app ... DI Server

We just got ourselves implemented SAP Business One 2007A accounting.
We have the SDK license also.
To build a web based app, is the best way to use the DI Server?
    SCENARIO
This app is to allow Sales Rep to register people in a conference.
Each conference costs a fixed amount.
Each customer master data is to be kept in SAP and customer notes and attributes to be edited via the web app.
    Invoice also to be created.
So i probably need a Sales Order Quotation, Sales Order, Invoice, and credit card payment, plus ability to add notes, and activities against the customer.
    QUESTION
    1.  I want to know if DI Server using SOAP is the wisest method to do this?  I don't want to keep on buying SAP pro licenses for each person wanting to work as CSR staff.
    2.  I hear people developing in their local machines.  Do I have to buy a fully licensed version of SAP to do development on my local PC? Or is there a free way to do this?
    3.  I see the SDK samples for 2007a.  Are there more samples I can download from some place?
    4.  How do I find out the XML format to use for inter acting with the SAP DI Server?  From the DI_SERVER/SCHEMAS area?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    1.  Regarding the licenses.  I need confirmation that I have everything for DI-SERVER based development and implementation on my site (WE ARE THE CUSTOMER)
It says on license administration that we have (in production):
    13 pro licenses
    SDK - Development : 19 available licenses
SDK - Implementation: 9999 available licenses
SDK Tools - 99990 available licenses
I don't see DI Server anywhere.   We / I am the end customer who bought all these tools to be able to build a web front end.
Now I am concerned that we did not buy the DI Server -- which is really what we need since my app needs to be web based.
Is this concern valid since I was able to use the quick & dirty method of using .asp to LOGIN, and RETREIVE the list of users using the DI-SERVER api (SDOBI_SERVER.node, GetUserList, Login).
Does this confirm that I can use DI-SERVER api?
If so how come some people on this forum suggest that there needs to be a DI-SERVER entry in the License Administration?
    2.  Is it possible to run my pure development pc/server with dev SAP B1  instances loaded but pointing it to the production license server
Or is it better to have a separate license server on the development machine?

  • Web based data entry for BCS layout

    Dear Gurus,
Please advice how to enter the data using web layouts into the BCS cube. I know that we cannot simply generate the layouts from BCS workbench like we can do using BPS0 for Business planning transactional cube, but I know that BCS also has this feature available to use web for entering transaction data.
    Please advice.
    Thanks
    Abhinav

    Hi Jide,
BCS offers an own fexible upload which you could use for the non SAP companies, without BW ETL
you can create a BCS task for the BCS Monitor where you can load flatfiles.

for the SAP companies you can use the "Load from datastream" to load data from a BW Infoprovider:

  • Web Based iWeb Blog Entries?

I just came across an instance where it would have been handy to add blog entries to my page created in iWeb, from a computer that does not have iWeb loaded. As far as I know there is no way to make blog entry additions like you can in the more conventional web-based blog applications (Myspace, Blogspot etc...).
I am pretty sure I have run all the traps on this one, but does anyone know if an option to allow this is available, or is in the works?
It would be great to be able to travel and make additions to my blog at any computer kiosk.

No, that's not the problem. I am talking about adding a blog entry from a kiosk type connection, not your mac connected to the internet.
It sounds like you ae having a problem publishing to iDisk. This can happen with complex network connections (wireless, routers, switches, and firewalls at hotels).

  • Blog entries on my web site don't show, error message

    Hi everyone,
I'm fully aware that my question may be off topic since it is possible that my problem has to do with my internet provider rather than with iWeb. If so, I would like to apologise.
Now this is what is puzzling me. I made my first web site using iWeb, and it looks pretty promising. When I click on the index file, my browser starts and shows me that everything works. I even managed to publish the site to a folder and to send the files via FTP to my provider. Everything seems to work just fine, all the pages show up, except for one thing - the blog page. What happens is this - online with my browser, I can see the blog overview with the first ten lines of each article. However, when I click on one of the blog entries to see the whole thing, I get a 404 error message telling me that the requested URL was not found on the server. But the files are there! Is there a way to "link" the blog entry files with the overview again? Or should I talk to my provider?
    Thanks for your help!
    cu
    Joerg

Okay, I did some more research (which I should have done beforehand, I know, so sorry for bothering), and it turns out that my problem has indeed to do with my provider. Obviously, iWeb creates file and folder names with german umlaut characters (for instance, "Einträge", which means "entries"). This resulted in conflicts with file name restrictions on the server - something whether Apple nor my provider told me about in the first place. I'm pretty disappointed about this. Anyway, the server could not correctly link to files which were there, but included characters the server did not want to understand.
The solution: A guy from switzerland has written a little app called iWeb Translator, which does the nasty job of translating "the whole iWeb-Site to match the provider's constraints". This did the trick. The link: http://sschoenb.blogspot.com/2007/08/iweb-and-umlaut-characters.html. Thank you, man!

  • Publishing One Blog Entry At a Time

I am going to use my website and blog page for a class I am going to teach, and I will use my blog page to assign journal assignments. I would like to do some of these in advance, but I only want to publish one entry at a time. Does that make sense? Can I do such a thing?
    Thanks!

I don't think you can selectively withhold the publication of blog entries — once they're created, they're all published next time you publish.
Problems with iWeb's blog are a recurring theme on these forums and it's advisable not to use it for important projects — or perhaps for anything! ...For a success story with a non-iWeb blog hosted on WordPress, see this old thread:
To blog or not to blog
And to link to an external blog from iWeb's navbar:
Create a blank internal page titled "Blog" (Actually you can name the page whatever you want.) Then in that Blog page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
parent.window.location = "http://www.yourblogname.com"; // change this to your own URL
    </script>
...Once published, clicking on "Blog" in the navbar will immediately redirect to your external Blog page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code).

  • IWeb Blog Entries - search, keywords, and categories?

    Hi all
I've been looking around these forums and elsewhere for help on this, but not having much luck...
I'm wanting to put a search box on to my iWeb site. I am not a MobileMe customer and therefore realise the default search field in iWeb will not work. Does anyone know of one/a way that will allow me to:
    - Search blog entries
    - Add keywords to blog entries created in iWeb
    - View blog entries that have been assigned to a particular category (e.g. A 'holidays' topic would show all the entries with the holiday keyword, the 'work' topic would show all entries with work...etc.)
All of this would need to be integrated in to my site, and ideally not be done on a 3rd-party site.
Any help would really be appreciated. Like I said, I am not a MobileMe user and would be publishing the site on my own webspace.
Hope someone out there can help!
    Thanks, and happy holidays!

  • Registering the Web based application as a Partner Application

    Good day
I went through the suggested documentation of registering a
web based application as a partner application of the SSO Login Server.
I installed the SSOSDK.JAR and went through the demo application (JSP Demo)
which consists of the following programs :
    papp.jsp
    ssoinclude.jsp
    ssoEnablerJspBean
    SSOEnablerBean
    SSOSignon
As per the technical documentation,I register this demo application as a
    partner application.
1 - The source code of the papp.jsp checks for the existence of the user
through method of ssoEnablerJspBean [getSSOUserInfo(request, response)] which
calls method of SSOEnablerBean [getSSOUserInfo (request, response) and this
method calls getUserInfo(p_request) of SSOEnablerBean (the same program) to
check the existence of the application cookie.
2 - If it doesn't exit , it redirect it to the SSO Login page for user
authentication.Once the user is authenticated, a SSO login cookie is created on
the client's browser and redirects back to the SSOSignOn.
3 - The SSOSignOn program creates the application cookie and redirects back to
the entry point of the demo application which is papp.jsp.
My Questions are as follows :
1 - Instead of creating a session object within my web based application to hold some
information used between the different pages, can I define them in the
application cookie? kindly advise? Is there any limitation for the length of
the application cookie? If yes, what will be the risk?
2 - The SSOSignOn program is calling a method in the SSOEnablerBean
[setPartnerAppCookie(response, request). Within this method , it is retrieving
the parameters values of the request object as :
    request.getParameterValues("urlc")[0];
What is the role of this [urlc]? Is it hard coded? Can I change it?
3 - In order to ensure that I am still dealing with the same user, shall I put
the above security check procedure on each page of my weeb based application? Kindly advise?
Thanks in advance for your prompt feedback
    regards

    Dear Paul
I think there is a misunderstanding regarding the last correspondence.
I am talking about the customized home page of the PORTAL and not the home page of my web based application (JSP) .So in this case, Am I able to use the customized home page which contains a login portlet instead of the default Login page of the SSO Login Server.Kindly advise!!!
On the other hand, I am facing a problem during the surfing of the web based application.
The web based application consists mainly of two packages :
Package I : Bank.counter which contains a set of jsp pages.
JSP_HOME_COUNTER (MAIN PAGE WHICH CONTAINS 2 FRAMES)
    JSP_LEFT_FRAME_COUNTER
    JSP_MAIN_FRAME_COUNTER
    JSP_MAIN_FRAME_COUNTER_DETAIL
Package II : Bank.portfolio which contains a set of jsp pages.
JSP_HOME_PORTFOLIO (MAIN PAGE WHICH CONTAINS 2 FRAMES)
    JSP_LEFT_FRAME_PORTFOLIO
    JSP_MAIN_FRAME_PORTFOLIO
Please note that the SSO classes are residing under the first package.
As agreed on in the third question, I am including in each page of my web based application, a security check procedure as follows :
    <%@ include file="ssoinclude.jsp" %>
    <%
    if(usrInfo == null)
    response.getWriter().println("<center>User information not found</center>");
    else
    my jsp code.......
    %>
Please note that all the jsp page of the portfolio package are pointing to the SSO classes as follows :
    <%@ include file="../counter/ssoinclude.jsp" %>
    <%
    if(usrInfo == null)
    response.getWriter().println("<center>User information not found</center>");
    else
    my jsp code.......
    %>
Once I invoke the JSP_HOME_COUNTER , it will render the JSP_LEFT_FRAME_COUNTER page and
JSP_MAIN_FRAME_COUNTER page which invokes the SSO Login page. Once the user has been authenticate, the result of the JSP_MAIN_FRAME_COUNTER is rendered successfully. The result contains an hyperlink to the
JSP_MAIN_FRAME_COUNTER_DETAIL page. As the user has been authenticated , this page is rendering automatically the result without displaying the SSO Login page. (Perfect as of now!!).
Once I invoke the JSP_HOME_PORTFOLIO from the JSP_HOME_COUNTER, it runs the security procedure without any rendering of the SSO Login page (fine!!) but redirects me back to JSP_HOME_COUNTER instead of rendering the result of the JSP_HOME_PORTFOLIO.
please note that the m_requestUrl variable in the SSOEnablerJSPBean class has been assigned the folowing value : JSP_HOME_COUNTER
    Kindly advise .

  • How can I protect files from being uploaded to the internet/web-based email or being written to a disc/flash drive?

I work for a company that want to update itself to this century.  I got all our PC upgraded to Windows 7 and networked into a homegroup.  We want to use a web-based appointment scheduler but this means giving our users web access.  The main
concern is our .mdb files.  We have anti-virus/anti-spyware to protect us from infiltration but we want to safeguard against personnel selling our client list; At least make it more difficult, just a precautionary measure.  Do I need additional software
or is it something that I can do in Windows setting?  Or do I need a file encryption service that works in conjunction with Windows Access?  Sorry for my ignorance and thanks in advance.

There is technology known as RMS which you could set series of policies like only members in the company could access certain documents and if someone copy them and attempt to run them in another PC or outside company, it won't work. Take a look at:

  • How to delete a blog entry in Lion Server Wiki?

Anyone know how to do this?  It seems that even logged in as system administrator you cannot delete blog entries using the web interface.
Wiki help unhelpfully reports that "If Delete Page or Delete File isn't listed, you can't delete the page or file.".  Really?
Thanks in advance for any help avail.

The above works most of the time, but sometimes User accounts can be stubborn.  I setup an admin account, perhaps unecessarily, when installing lion on a new solid state hard drive.  After migrating my original Admin account over from the hard drive I had difficulty in removing the newly created Admin (method: I clicked the minus and deleted the home folder, checking 'erase home folder securely') which resulted in the acct. being downgraded to Standard.  Still it would show up at startup login screen.  Although logging in to this account (to attempt to logout and then reattempt the delete) was not possible (never ending spinning beachball - not what you want with 20G RAM and a top end SSD).
    Then I found this -

  • Help, my new Blog entries, since iLife '08 upgrade, don't show ANY text!

Ever since upgrading to iLife '08, my new Blog entries do not show any of the text once it is uploaded to the server. In fact, all of my recent Blog entries now have all thier text gone when viewed online. Only Blog pages in "Archives" are still normal. What gives?! They all look good in iWeb, but not live. Thanks for your help. Wayne
    [email protected]

Hi Cedric. I went ahead and took down all recent changes to my site, and then just re-uploaded my last good set-up from iLife 2006. I think iLife 2008 changes how blog pages are addressed. As an example, my two most recent good entries show on the web as:
    http://waynelhenderson.com/Blog/693901ED-99E6-42D3-8AA9-7F8338989B47.html
    http://waynelhenderson.com/Blog/629035FF-E021-4B9D-AFE5-D091583E0676.html
Notice the long string of numbers, letters, and dashes, after the word /Blog/? My iWeb in iLife 2008 no longer puts those types of strings at the end of /Blog/. Instead, the Blog web entries show as:
http://waynelhenderson.com/Blog/Entries/2007/10/26Tuning_In_With_Wayne_Henderson_podcast_39_%26_40%2C_by_Wayne_Henderson_Voice-ove rs(206)984-1446iPhone_GreenpeacePackers!.html (before I took it down because it wasn't working right).
Could the fact that instead of the string of number, letters, and dashes after /Blog/, my iLife '08 uses "/Blog/Entries/2007/10/26_Tu....etc" have anything to do with my problem of text not showing?
I've always used the same fonts, sizes, and colors. But now it's not working. What is weird, however, is that if I did Select All, and Copy and Paste the web page contents onto Notepad...the text IS THERE...just not showing on the web.
    Argh!

  • How can I video chat with someone who uses web based yahoo?

Not long ago I purchased my first Mac (New MacBook Pro 2.53GHZ); last Summer I also purchased a MacBook Pro for my daughter. Everything works great (like driving a formula one Porsche after grappling with a battered pick-up truck (meaning Windows) for many decades; cannot imagine ever going back. But, there is one issue that I have not been able to solve and for which I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or advice. I am familiar with ichat and with AIM (my daughter uses it all the time). However, the vast majority of people with whom I communicate via IM live in parts of the world where very few people have even a computer at home much less residential internet access. As a result, near all of the folks I would be chatting with have to use public computers (internet cafes, libraries, etc) and obviously they cannot install AIM or anything else on those public computers. About 90% of them use the web based yahoo messenger which can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection (most of the rest use MSN). My question is this: I know how to do video chat in ichat but ichat does not support yahoo. How can I do video chat with someone who is using web based yahoo on a public computer that has a USB web cam? I was able to do this on my old PC which had a plug in web cam but do not know how it might work on a Mac. Should I install yahoo messenger on my MacBook Pro and will that work for me?. I know about some other Mac compatible chat clients such as Admiun but as far as I can tell none of them support video chat or in some cases yahoo. Perhaps I am overlooking something. I would be very grateful for any suggestions or advice in this matter. Thanks to anyone who reads this post and has any helpful info.

    Zurich,
I don't think the web-based Yahoo Messenger supports video, so nothing you can do with that.
    http://messenger.yahoo.com/features/
I think there are Mac compatible MSN clients that will do video, (i.e. aMSN) Also, Microsoft plans on releasing an updated version of Messenger for Mac soon.
    http://www.officeformac.com/blog/An-Update-on-Messenger-for-Mac
GoogleTalk does have a browser based video chat, but your friends would need to install a browser plug-in. (which I would assume that can't do either)
The best option is Skype, but also requires an install on their end (I would think that the internet cafes would/should have this available)
    Good Luck,

  • Photo problems in blog entries...

I am having problems with photos and images displaying in blog entries. I am able to place photos in the text of my blog entries but upon publishing some will display and some won't (in any web browser or system used).
I have tried emptying Safari caches and reloading pages but to no avail. Some photos are still missing (they are displaying as a small question mark when viewed online).
What's worse is that reinserting the photos in iWeb and then republishing will make some of the missing photos appear on my site while others that were displaying okay previously will now be gone.
The result is that many of my blog entries are always missing photos.
Examples of this can be seen by clicking to view the various entries here:
    http://web.mac.com/jtbcmac/iWeb/MaiTai/MontrealTiki/Archive.html
    and here:
    http://web.mac.com/jtbcmac/iWeb/MaiTai/OtherArticles/Archive.html
I am currently trying to reload things, so pages may or may not look ok when you view them.
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    UPDATE:
All seems to be fine now... after making minor changes on each of the affected pages and republishing a couple of times.
But I have a feeling the problem will re-occur... as it has in the past... when I make a new blog entry.

  • Photos in text of blog entry do not port to main blog page

I have posted before about the photos from my entry page disappearing when ported to my main blog page. I have yet to find a solution so I'm asking for help again.
I'm am trapped using iWeb 1.1 until I find a solution. I use the Modern Template with modifications. Usually I delete the snowboarding surfer placeholder. Please note I'm not concerned that this photo doesn't port. I don't want it to. I do however need the photos that I have embedded via text wrap within my blog entry to port to the main blog page. They do not.
I have tried keeping the snowboarder place holder and redoing entries with wrapped text, but my additional photos are still missing. I have checked the box in iWeb 2 that says show photos. My layouts conveted to iWeb 2 look perfect on the entry's page, and horrible with missing photos on the summary page.
This problem is beyond frustrating. My blog can be seen here, however it is still the iWeb 1.1 format.
    http://web.mac.com/knittsings/iWeb/knittsings/knittsings/knittsings.html
As you can see, almost all my entries have numerous photos. I want them to display on the main blog page.
Am I missing something very basic? I have seen others with this same question but no one seems to have had any luck resolving this problem.
    Thanks,
