Web-based installer

I'm looking to create a Web-based installer program, but have absolutely no clue how it can be implemented.
Would you guys shed me some light on this :)

I think WebStart is what you're looking for (although we may just be talking over each other here). WebStart downloads a Java program to the client via a server but doesn't necessarily have to be a client/server type app. It's pretty slick since it can be configured to check for new version of the program and update it as needed. Try installing WebStart and playing around with some of the programs yourself.

  • Web-based installation was unsuccessful

Yesterday, when I attempted to start the AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client to establish a long-working VPN connection, the software failed to automatically install the client (see attached screen capture).  I tried clicking on the Window 7 link to manually install.  The manual install seemed to work but the client still did not connect.  Any idea what I should do to once again be able to establish a VPN connection?  I am running 3.1.04063 of the client

No, it's hardly a broblem of anyconnect image. Most probably it's got smth to do with java or smth like that on your client pc. Check prerequisites for web-installation of anyconnect (i mean browser settings, java settings and version, etc).

  • Problem opening a web based PDF

Group,  I would appreciate anyone’s help with this.  I run windows XP and just downloaded Adobe 9.1 I have no issues when trying to open a pdf file.  However when I click on a web based document in a web browser I am unable to open, and receive the following error message:
The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Adobe Actrobat/Reader version 8 or 9 is required.  Please exit and try again.
I have 2 laptops which I did not download 9.1 and I am not having this issue, only on the machine with 9.1.
    Any ideas?

Run repair installation from the help menu.

  • Is Forms10g web based or web enabled ?

    Hello every body.
I want to know if Oracle Forms10g is web based or web enabled ?
BTW: what is the difference between both terms ?
    Yours

Web enabled means the application is available through web as well as a desktop sw.
Ex: Forms 6i. It can both as a desktop client (i.e, requires some sort of installation / setup in the client machine ). It can also be deployed on the web as well.
Web Based means: It is completely available only through a browser and not available in other ways.
    10gs is Web Based.
    I hope it helps.

  • Web-based BPC

    Hi,
Can BPC meet the below requirement? If yes, are there any difference between BPC 7.NW and BPC 7.0 w.r.t the below requirement?
Requirement - "The system shall be web-based and running on open standards.  It shall not require any client software installation".
    thanks/regards,
    Lokesh Nandula

You can use only IE into SAP BPC but only for simple reports.
Live reports (can be created dynamic) but you can not compare with complexity of Reports from Web Excel.
I will say teh answer is yes - you can use only IE using SAP BPC but in that moment the capabilities of reporting are very limited.
You need installation of SAP BPC client for complex processes and complex reporting.

  • Firefox 4 will not accept a web based service "Silverlight" that I downloaded after updating to Firefox 4. I need this on-line access to pay taxes to the State of AR

The AR Dept. of Finance requires that a taxpayer download a web-based service that allows taxpayers online access to their tax accounts. I cannot get "Silverlight" to work with Firefox 4
    ''locking as a dupe - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/776855 ''

    ''I have it downloaded''
....You also have to run the downloaded Silverlight.exe file to install Silverlight. Open the Firefox [[Downloads window]] (via Tools -> Downloads") , right-click on the Silverlight.exe download entry and select "Open containing folder" to find the downloaded file, then close Firefox and double-click the exe file to start the installation.
See also [[Using the Silverlight plugin with Firefox]] and http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx for help downloading and installing Silverlight.

does jes 2005q1 have a web based delegated admin facility?
does it match all the functionality of the iplanet delegated web based admin that was unfortunately not available for schema 2?
could anyone elaborate on what it does and doesn't cover (e.g. mailing lists, etc) compared to ida.
i attempted to wade thru the docco but it looked like it mainly mentioned commcli.
is there an install doc for it somewhere that works?
    thanks

Is there something specific you're looking for? I would certainly expect to see it being able to provision users/groups. If there's something beyond that you need, I may be able to get you more data.
    >

  • I need to run web based Microsoft CRM. I open it in Safari but the program does not respond. I suppose it has to do with Flash or ActiveX. Can someone help?

What does the product developer say about system requirements? If it needs to be run from within Internet Explorer then you'll need to find a way to run Internet Explorer. Boot Camp or VM installation of Windows would be two options.
But first check the product requirements.

  • Web based help over satellite ISP

Just installed the Mavericks OS X on my 2008 Macbook.  All went well.  Since I use Exede ISP I had to download the Mavericks App during the midnight to 5AM "late night free zone" as I am limited to a total of 10 gB per month.  The download happened very qickly and the install was completed when I awoke.  It took me a couple of hours to find the best benefit.  For the first time in over a year I have full access to the Apple web based help.  Previously any attempt to drill past the initial pages in help resulted in the "you are not connected to the internet life ring."  That's all gone with Mavericks.  I've noted the same complaint from users of other satellite and wireless ISP's.  I hope your installation goes as well as mine and if you're unable to access the Web Based Help, please let us know if Mavericks resolves your issues as well.
    Thanks for reading,

    Hello Jane:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
    Try this:
Go to Safari preferences>security. Make sure that the boxes at the top are checked (block popups is optional). You already indicated you accept cookies.
Go to Safari preferences>general. I would check the box "open safe files after downloading."
If none of this works, post back. There are some really expert people round that will help.

  • Browser is no longer recognized by a web-based database after migration to FF17

    Hi,
When trying to access a web-based data base thta worked fine with FireFox 16, I now got message: "Your Browser is not supported" at the place where an image loaded via a plugin (ChemDraw plug-in 12.0.2.1076) should load. This worked perfectly with version 16 and the plugin is still in place and not declared incompatible by FireFox. How do I modify the way FireFox announces it-self to the web site so that it is not declared incompatible...

    Hi,
I tried and it works ! What I had to do was to downgrade to version 16, install the add-on, copy the configuration from there as a new User agent (which I called FireFox 16), then upgrade and then select the FireFox 16 user agent...
Amazingly enough, however, when checking the test (through the web site http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/features/test/ it says I have version 17 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0) aven though I selected my FireFox 16 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0).
I do not knwo exactly why the test does not work but the web site that needs FireFox 16 works ...

  • How to migrate from forms to web based application

    Hi,
I did a form for Oracle applications, but client need a web based form for this application how can i migrate this to web based form. If it is possible can u give me suggestion how migrate.
    Kishore B

Not sure if that's possible, as developing forms for Oracle Applications requires the use of TEMPLATE.fmb to start with, and the use of certain standards to adhere to the look and feel of the applications. Review the Oracle Applications Developer's guide for more details.
What You may do now is to upload the form to the Application Server and compile it to the adequate directory $PRODUCT_TOP/forms/[LANG], register the form, associate to a function and use it in a menu to see it trough Oracle Applications standard interface, but it may show a very different L&F and not all standard functionality may be available. With the Dev Guide's on hand, apply required changes and test Your form in the application.

  • Conversion of forms5.0 to web based application

    dear folks,
i have an existing application which runs on forms 5.0. i want to
convert it to a web based application. i do not want to rewrite
the scripts.if some of you could tell me the details about how to
    go about it.
    null

I am not sure if there is any tool to do that.
You can delete WebSphere specific xml files from ear/jar and open it in Weblogic's builder tool. Weblogic Builder is a GUI tool. Helps you assign values for deployment parameters, Transaction attributes, JNDI names and so on. Then you can generate deployment descriptors. Subsequently you can modify the descriptors as and when you want.

  • Migrate from GUI to web based application

what's the easy and the fast method to migrate java GUI application to a web based aplpication.
    thanks in advance for information

There is no simple or easy or fast way if the application were not properly designed.
Does it follow the Model-View-Controller pattern? If it does, your migration path is easier. If it is the typical app (the button listener method does it all), the migration path is not.
I guess that you will have to redesign the app and reuse only very specific parts of your code, like formulae calculations.
Code is cheap, analysis and testing are not.
