Web-Based Setup, not working

Hello...
When I go to the Web-based setup...wireless/security..
nothing is available.
I can't change the keyphrase, or security type WEP WPA andy such darned thing.
It's just not there 90% of the time.
Then once in a blue moon it shows up.
Upgraded all the firmware and such, factory default and the likes.
It used to work at one time. If I could just drive there or contact the wizard of OZ maybe something might happen.
help.
Thank you

I totally lost my internet connection via the router WRT54GS V6
I am connected directly into the computer from my cable modem.
I have tried everything. Upgarded firmware, factory default reset, setting the software again and again.
When I run Easylink Advisor it always reads, no internet...like I said the modem is working when plugged directly into my computer.
All proper lights are working on the router and modem.
Could the router be just be broken?
It seems to be getting worse and worse.
help please.

  • Web Based Setup / Not loading properly

I'm having a problem with my WRT54G V6 (wireless router).  It happened few times since i got this router.   (A friend of mine also have a wireless router from Linksys, i don't know the model).
We both have the same problem:
    - After running for a while, the router doesn't seems to work anymore.  I can't access any web page or other things, so i come to my desktop (WIRED) to the router, try to access the Web Based Setup page, and it BARELY LOAD!  The HTML page is sloppy, like if it never finish to load or even worse: all tabs have different font size and colors.
    - When it happen, i have no choice to remove the power cable, then put it back and everything get back to normal.
    What could cause that?
I've upgraded the firmware many times (even did it this morning with v1.02.0, but i'm sure i'll have the same problem again and again).
My router is not submitted to power fluctuation, it's plugged to an UPS.
    THANKS!

Hi… Reduce the MTU on this router to 1365. If you re-flash or upgrade the firmware make sure you reset this router to factory default settings and reconfigure it.

  • Web based worklist not working...

    Hello,
(on wlpi 2.1 on weblogic sp2)
I've created a process that utilizes a stateless session bean. Every thing works
fine when using the fat-client worklist.
I wanted to use the web-based worklist with my process, so I did the following:
1.) Installed the %wlint_home%/samples/bpm_api/jsp/worklist.war from the weblogic
    console.
2.) Tweaked the "startWeblogic.cmd" file (I'm in NT) to add the wlpi-worklist.jar
file into the classpath. (this is all in the reamde file in %wlint_Home%/samples/bpm_api/jsp/)
This works at first, as I can get to the login screen, but as soon as I log in, I
get a "Classnotfound error" saying it can't find my home interface for my session
    bean.
So, I figured, "Must not be in the classpath (somehow)". I added my bean .jar file
into the classpath, and then try again. I get a different error that says "Classnotfound
error" for the EJBHelper. Same error happens on the fat client in both cases.
I can simply take out my startWeblogic classpath changes, and restart the server,
and the fat-client works again (but the jsp worklist doesn't not -- no surprise.)
Has anyone been able to get the jsp-based worklist to work with a process that uses
    an EJB?

  • WRT54G Problem - Web based setup not displaying

Anyone else had a problem like this?
I've used Mozilla and IE, but I don't actually get anything appearing aside from the basic page layout of the setup page after I log in.
It loads and everything - IE says there's an error on page; but i get hardly any information off the page. I can't even click any of the (where I assume they would be - anyway) links so I can update my firmware.

I have actually got a similar problem. Router work staright out of the box but it is impossible to access the configuration web page. IE or Mozilla just simply cannot access the page as if it did not exists.
I have tried a hard reset and this launched successfully the firmware management mode, I flashed it wit latest version (I got a v5), to no avail.
Any ideas (firewall is off, javascript is enabled) ?

  • Can not login to my EA4500 router's web based setup page

Hello All-I have a EA4500 router. I attempted to login to my router' web based  setup page late last year using my IE11 browser.I received an error message stating that I cannot login with that browser. I need an updated   IE,Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to be able to  visit that site. I attempted about 3 more times and received the same error message. I switched to Google Chrome that worked very well up to tonight(3/31/2004). Cisco web page is preventing me from opening my setup page. I believe I should be contacting Customer Support about this problem but none of their support options cover this problem. Thanks in advance.

IE 11 isn't compatible.  Use Google Chrome if you don't want to uninstall IE 11 and go back to IE 10.
You can force the local login by disconnecting the cable from the router's internet port and then logging in.
If the Smart Wifi is giving you trouble and you don't mind reconfiguring your router. Then you could disable Smart Wifi services.
    To disable Smart Wifi Services:
Reset the router to factory defaults (recessed button for 30 seconds or through the router UI)
For setup choose "I want to skip Setup and configure my router manually"
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • 827H router web setup not working

We were having problems with our 827H router, so I decided to reset it to the factory defaults and re-run the quick setup. I've done that before with no problems.
This time, after it loads the configuration in the web setup, it keeps checking the model, IOS version, etc.--over and over again. It won't stop, nor can we exit out of it to get to the quick setup.
Originally the router was connected to a hub. When we couldn't configure it from the web setup, we put the router directly onto a pc with an ethernet cable. We could ping the router. Using the console cable, we are able to see the router's settings. (See attached)
The pc was set to dhcp. The dns was originally set to "Obtain automatically". We also tried to set the dns and the gateway to the router's ip, and added the domain controller's dns as another dns server. Nothing has worked.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Your description of the symptoms is quite puzzling as is the console log that you sent. You say that you connected a PC directly to the router. Was that using a cross over Ethernet cable?
You say that when you connected the PC to the router you could ping the router. What IP address was on the PC at that point.
The console output that you included has a kind of garbled output in the show run. It looks as if two things were outputting at the same time. I am not clear if there were actually two things happening together or if the router is really messed up. (Though most of the config that showed up looked reasonable)
I would suggest that you connect to the console port again and capture all of the console output. I would suggest that whle you are connected and capturing output that you power cycle the router (it may be very helpful to see what messages go to the console while the router is booting).
After the router boots again, you may be able to use the web interface. If the web interface does not work you should be able to use the console interface to get a congif that should work basically.
Try these steps and post the output. Maybe then we can find a solution.

  • WRT54G V8 Can't connect to web based setup page?

Earlier I reset my router and was able to use 192.168.1.1 to visit the web based setup page while trying to re-establish a home network now that I have a new computer using Windows 7 which can not use the easylink advisor. I was able to get on the page to update my SSID and WEP key. But when my wireless devices were still having problems connecting to the internet I tried to go back to the page and found that I can't get it to connect, though my desktop is able to connect to other internet sites just fine.
Does anyone know what i can be doing wrong? I am using Verizon DSL. I was able to ping the router and all tests showed that it was connected fine, yet I still cannot get on the setup page and my laptop still can't connect to the network. I have tried resetting the router again, and still nothing. And yes, I have gone through numerous power cycles. I also tried going though the network map on my computer, but the computer says it was unable to create a map for it even though at the time I had it listed as a Home network.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Wireless connections to 192.168.1.1  often fail.  When accessing the router setup pages, always use a computer that is wired to the WRT54G.
If the above does not solve your problem, then here are my other tips for viewing the router setup pages:
You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
Some Zone Alarm users have reported that adding 192.168.1.1 to their list of "trusted" addresses fixed the problem. This trick might also work with other firewalls.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system.  The router should work, but you will need to setup your router again from scratch.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
If you still have trouble, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • WRT310N No Way To Setup and Configure Router. CD Setup No, Web Based Setup No

Purchased New WTR310N yesterday. LESA does not run from CD. Web based Setup Page Will Not Load. Did two 2 hr Remote Setup sessions so far with Linksys Techs in Phillipines and India. After 1st Tech was done, nothing would connect to router. Tech tried to setup our 4 PCs by setting up one as a server and using ICS to setup the rest. Tech disabled TTP, DHCP, ete everything that works as a home network. I think Tech also setup a password and user name on Router without telling me. I had to spend 2 hrs using Vista and XP Wizards to setup a router network, both wired and wireless. Since Router is not configured yet can only access unsecured wireless networks. But 2 wireless printers do not work yet. Tech today was excellent in India. She reinstalled my Linksys USB Wireless Adapter that I use to print with. Still not printing, and green light not coming on, on USB Adapter. Tech managed to upgrade Router Firmware, but could never get web based router setup to load. Got the password and user name box to show up once, but admin and blank username does not work. My XBox 360 installed in 15 seconds and is fast so Router working fine. So need help with getting Linksys USB Wireless Adapters to access wireless printers and somehow get router admin pages to load so I can turn on WEP and type in our WEP Code. Last router was Linksys 54G, all worked fine for years, then quit working so got new router. Any ideas before I try calling Tech Support again, thanks.

As you want to make the network secured but the admin password is not working....You have to reset the router and re-configutre it again...
Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page

    WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page.
I have tried everything posted to the forums and the Knowledge Base for several weeks now with no luck.  I can power push router and gain access to router's web-base interface but only for a few minutes than it quits loading part way through and or does not load at all.  If I turn off the wireless side I can access the router at will with no problems. My warranty is almost over. I am at my wits end. I would like to get it replaced under warranty if I can. (^8
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for your recommendations peanuts. (^8
I bought the router back in December 10, 2006.
I updated the firmware to v1.00.20 back in June 2007. After I did a successful firmware upgrade I reset the router to factory default settings and then reconfigured it. It has worked Ok till a couple of months ago.
I have read everything I can find here on the support forum and in the Knowledge Base several times.
I have tried changing all the different settings to the different recommendations posted here and in Knowledge Base with no success. Each time I would do a long reset back to factory defaults, let it soak for a few hours and then make one change at a time and let it soak.
I have been monitoring 6 other wireless AP(s) around me (none mine) for a couple of months too. None of them are strong enough to connect to. My SSID is different from them. I have tried all the channels. My router is passworded and MAC'd.
It is looking like it is time to call support and try to get a replacement under warranty while it is still in affect.

  • WES610N Web-Based Setup

The WES610N bridge seems to work fine, but I cannot get into the web-based setup.  I have tried using it directly through my laptop, as the instructions show, then through an Asus RT-53N as a router.  I did have the 610 connected to my laptop's ethernet socket, where it provided internet through the Asus RT-53N wireless router just fine, but when I tried to access the setup, again, it would not work.  Next, I tried it through a desktop and Linksys RVS4000, again . . . nothing.  Any ideas?  I would like to check the firmware and see what else is in the menu.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi there. You can try to connect the WES610N to your laptop again. Check the lan ip address it is getting. By default it has a static lan ip of 169.254.1.250. Try to access that or better ping it first. Once you get the setup page of the device then from there you can configure the ip address that is of course in range of your router. • WVC54GCA motion detection in utility setup not working

After reading this answer that basically says that if you use the web-based advanced setup for motion detection, your recording is limited to only 5 sec., I disabled motion detection in the web GUI, and decided to setup motion detection in the utiity setup windows.
I can't make it work correctly:  I have firmware V1.00R24:
This is what I do: I check Enable Motion Detection Recording in the Network Camera screen. In Preferences, I set the Recording Path, set 10 secs Motion Detection record before and after motion detection.  I have 15 GB of available disk space.
Under Recording Schedule, if I set a schedule, say, daily from 7am to 7:30am (or any other interval), it will record for the whole duration independently of any movement or lack of movement in the field.  If I don't set a recording schedule, it won't record anything.
I am not interested in triggering emails or FTPs, which apparently can be done only with the Web GUI anyway.  I just want to record 10 secs before and after every instance of detected movement.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks for any suggestion.

Well, I am still struggling with this motion detection.
@Carrot: Linksys seems to say that the 5 second limitation is only for the web-based setup, which I didn't use. If you read this answer from their knowledge base, you will see they recommend using the utility to obtain longer recording times.  In any case, when I follow their recommendation, I don't even get 5 seconds.  The only thing that gets recorded are the intervals I specify in Recording Schedule, and then it records everything, motion or no motion.  Without entering a recording schedule, nothing gets recorded.
In any case, if you have any specific third party software in mind that would do a better job with motion detection, please let me know.  I have been using successfully YawCam, which works with USB webcams, but I haven't found a way to make it work with this IP camera.
I may endup using my own video software (using avisynth) to detect movement from full recordings.

  • E1200 V2 with no "internet access policy" in built-in web-based setup

I just bought a factory refurbished E1200.  The label on the bottom says it is a Version 2 model.  When I purchased it, it was loaded with 2.0.02 firmware but I upgraded the firmware to 2.0.04
My problem is that I'm trying to setup MAC address-based restrictions thru the manual/web-based setup and when I click on the "Access Restrictions" tab, I only have simple "Parental Controls" and not the advanced "Internet Access Policy".
Is it possible that I have a mislabeled V1 device?  If that is the case, how is it that I was able to upgrade the firmware using firmware from the V2 downloads section.
Do V! and V2 units use the same firmware but  more importantly, how do I upgrade the built-in software so that I have the advanced "Internet Access Policy" controls?
    Thanks!
    Eric
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Very strange indeed then!  My subtab only has "Parental Controls" listed.
I've compared it to the one shown here  ( http://ui.linksys.com/files/E1200/2.0.00/inter_access.htm ) - and mine does not look like this at all!
I think i have a mislabeled V1 model or at least V1 software loaded,
Does anyone know if it is possible to download and reload the software that is built in to the router or do I need to return it and get a (hopefully) new one?
    Thanks!

  • WPA Security, Crashing OS, Locked out of Web-Based Setup Page. AAAaaarrrrrrgggg!

I tried several times to enable WPA security on my WMP54GS router by using the "Secure Easy Setup" button in the Wireless Network Monitor Panel. I pressed the lighted Cisco logo on the router as directed, I clicked on the "next" button on screen, and Windows crashed. (That is, my system rebooted and Windows reported that it had recovered from a serious error.)  I am running XP. I also tried to enable security using the router’s web-based setup page.  I followed the instructions, and a new web screen appeared stating "error on page."  I tried again to enable security using the web-based setup page, but now it won't let me in using the default password (admin).  I tried resetting the router by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds, but I still cannot access the web-based setup page. Sooooooo, I'm out of ideas.  Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

    Hi
When configuring your wireless settings, use a wired computer and not a wireless computer. Because it will not be able to apply the new settings. Its like trying to troubleshoot a automobile malfunction while you are driving the car itself.

  • Error in router's web-based setup page (WRT54G V5)

    Hi,
My router’s web-based setup page is unable to load fully.
There seems to be an error with some document.setup.save file.
I have tried to reset my router but the router’s web-based setup page is still unable to load fully.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

Try Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Temporarily turn off your computer's software firewall, and see if that corrects your problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Need access the E1000's web-based setup page.

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router, and I seem to have either written down the password incorrectly or am using the wrong one. Regardless, I can not access the web-based setup for the router. Is there anyway to reset the username and password for it?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, there is.  You'll have to reset the router back to defaults, which will reset the password back to the default password for your router.  Unfortunately , you'll also have to reconfigure the settings, since all settings go back to factory default.  Just hold press the recessed "reset" button for your router for about 30 seconds, then release it.  After the router has re-initialized itself, you'll be able to log in to the web GUI again with the default password.
