Web browser closes when printing

Every time I have a web page on my screen that I want to print, as soon as I hit "file" then "print" my web browser automatically closes and I get an error message. I never used to have this problem.

Hello old:
Welcome to Apple discussions.
How did you "update" to OS X 10.4?
I suspect taht you will have to go back to wherever you were and start over. Hopefully you made a good clone of your previous system.

a second web browser opens when I initially open firefox. This also happens in Aurora.

I am not sure what it is that you are seeing. Is it possible that Firefox is opening two windows?
If you have two Firefox windows open and close down Firefox, and have your preferences set to open as it was previously then it will open two windows.
You mention Firefox and Aurora. Do you have both of these installed on the same computer ? If so it would be a good idea to use separate unique profiles for each.

  • My browser closes when I try to manage my account

My browser closes when I try to manage my account

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Client web browser closes abruptly when accessing forms deployed using 9iAS 1.0. 2

I am using 9iAS 1.0.2 on W2K server with SP3.I could successfully launch the application on web browser at server side.Hoever when I try to access from client machine the first time it install the Jinitiator and the web browser gets closed.
why it is happening? Appreciate any thoughts!
    Thanks

The problem here is the SOAP engine running on Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2 is a lower version than that running on Oracle9iAS 9.0.3/OC4J 9.0.3.
To get them to interoperate (e.g. 1.0.2.2 calling 9.0.3), you would have to do the following:
    1. Build your Web service in OC4J 9.0.3/JDev 9.0.3
    2. Deploy to 9.0.3 environment
    3. Build a Web service client on the 1.0.2.2 environment, not using any 9.0.3 libraries (see below for a link to a paper to do this)
Conversely if you wanted to call from a OC4J 9.0.3 Web service client to a Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2 Web service, you would have to do the following:
    1. Build your Web service on 1.0.2.2 using 1.0.2.2 libraries
    2. Deploy this to a 1.0.2.2 environment
    3. Build a client to the 1.0.2.2 Web service using the 9.0.3 libraries
The reason it likely is not working is that it looks like you are mixing two different generations of SOAP libraries.
See the link below for how to build and consume Web services using Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/soapr1/ExploreSOAP1022.html
At the end of that paper is a link to another paper showing how to use JDeveloper 3.2 to build a Web service for 1.0.2.2 - it shows how to use its libraries versus the libraries that came with 9.0.3.

  • 5230 web browser closes automatically when I try a...

Like the title says, my 5230's web browser crashes whenever I try and load a forum thread, I was able to do this a while ago and I've not run out of data or anything, there are no music files, no photos, no apps on the phone. I have reset the settings to factory but nothing has helped.
I'm starting to get fed up of this phone, it has good navigation properties but that is just about the only thing it has going for it now....
Can anyone help? The phone is still under contract

Have you tried Opera Mini or Opera Mobile browsers? Go to m.opera.com on your phone to download the latest version of either or both. Mini is optimised for 3G browsing whilst Mobile is best for Wi-Fi.

  • Please install a web browser error when generating htm documents

    Hello,
I have looked through the forums and did find some ideas to try to fix this issue but none have worked so far. One idea was to go into the Windows folder options and make sure that htm and html files are assoiciated with Internet Explorer. I looked into this and IE was already set as the default application to open htm/html files. Just for grins I looked in the control panel's program access and defaults and confirmed the primary web browser was also set to IE.
    A bit of background...
Windows XP pro machine, with RH 8. Also, using IE 8 with the lastest updates applied. Also, I can generate other smaller RH projects from this PC and other PCs can generate the project I'm having trouble with. So I am fairly certain the problem is not the PC or the project in question. A Windows problem maybe??
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks,
    -Wagstaff

    Hello again
Odd that it failed to work for you. Seems it's worked for all others in the past but there's always a time when a magick cure won't, eh?
What you posted gives me pause to wonder if you understood what I suggested. You seem to have simply performed a test using a notepad document. What I suggested was to re-associate .HTM files so that when you double-clicked them to open, Notepad opened instead of the browser.
One thing I neglected to mention was that you should probably close RoboHelp before doing the unassociate/reassociate hokey pokey. RoboHelp has places in the registry too.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Web browsers crashing when printing

i recently updated my PB g4 12 inch from 10.3.9 to 10.4.10. the update seemed to get caught up when the computer restarted itself. is sat with the "globe" twirling and would not do anything at all, so i forced a restart with the power button.
all seemed to be well, when i was web browsing with mozilla. i attempted to print the page, which caused the crashing of mozille. i thought it was the actually page that mozilla was on, but that turned out not to be the problem. in fact, IE and safari all quit while printing.
microsoft word can print without a problem, tho!
anyone know an answer to this problem? thanks in advance for your help.

  • Cant print, indesign cs3 closes when print

When i send a file to print, indesign closes. deleting the PPD files in /library/printers/PPDs/contents/resources solve the problem, for a while, 2 days max. then, it crashes again.
i have mountain lion and cs3.
is CS3 totally compatible whit mountain lion? or do i need to upgrade to cs5, cs6 ?

I'm surprised you even managed to use ID CS3 on 10.8. Checking the Adobe site, they mention that CS3 and CS4 were not designed to work with 10.7, so this would also rule out 10.8.
I am using CS6 (InDesign, Photoshop and Dreamweaver) on 10.8 and they all print fine.

  • Indesign CS3 closes when printing

I have OS X Mountain Lion and Indesign CS3. When i send a file to print, indesign closes.
Deleting the PPD files in /library/printers/PPDs/contents/resources solve the problem, for a while, less than a week, then, it crashes again.
i found this link, so, do i need to upgrade to CS5? is there a way to solve this problem without upgrading?

Not clear from your post if you are able to delete the PPD files again because they are being restored somehow, or if you can no longer print at all.
There is practically no possibility that you will find a legitmate copy of CS5 available for purchase, so be very careful and be sure whoever is selling it guarantees that you can register and activate it, and that they are trustworthy. Many users don't realize that educational licenses cannot be transferred, and that any version used as part of an upgrade chain can only be transferred along with the rest of the chain, and that the transfer requires filinig a form at Adobe.
The only options today on the regular market are CS6 perpetual license, for which I believe you would pay full price as there is no upgrade from CS3 any longer, or a Creative Cloud subscription. I believe your CS3 license would get you a discount for the first year. The subscription gets you both the CC versions released recently, and CS6 from the archive, which you may need. There are currently a few threads going here about problems users are facing with CC, but they don't affect everyone.

    Browser: Safari 4.1.2, Firefox 3.6.11
    Problem:
Any time I try to print flash content, for example, games or printables from PBSkids.com, my browser would go to the spinning beach ball and crash. Issue affected Safari and Firefox.
Latest version of Flash was installed 10.1.x
Fix: Downgraded to Flash 9. Problem solved am once again able to print flash content such as the examples above.

    HI Ernest,
If Safari is crashing, post a crash report so we can try and help.
If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.

  • Adobe Reader closes when print is clicked

    Using Adobe Reader Version 10.1.2.45
When I open a PDF Document and either click on the Print icon or click file > Print   Adobe just closes the program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times. All other apps on my PC recognize and print fine to my default printer.
I just can't figure this one out.
    All help is greatly appreciated
    Jerry

There is currently a known issue with Adobe Reader 10.1.2.
You can resolve the issue temporarily by using one of the workarounds in the forum post below:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/949886?tstart=0
Most people find that workaround 2 is the one that works the best but decreases Adobe Reader security slightly. So best to re-enable Protected Mode when you aren't printing.
Adobe plans to release a fix for this issue in the future.

  • My firefox browser closes when loading any page without a crash report

My broswer keeps closing when loading. No crash report pops up, it just takes me to the "well this is embarrassing..." page that asks if I want to restore, to which no matter which option I pick it keeps closing on me.

clearing cache, and cookies only removes the cookies and clears the
cache/ Not passwords or anything else. Closing in safe mode? That tells
    us something. Now do this,<BR><BR>
    1) '''''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Start Firefox in Safe Mode]'''''<BR><BR>
    2) '''''Firefox > Add-ons > Plugins'''''. Disable '''EVERYTHING''' ! !
If Firefox closes on you, start it again and keep going. After everything is
disabled, restart in safe mode again. And let it sit for a while.<BR><BR>
    3) Look at the list of programs below and run at least 3 of them. Each
program works differently so what one may miss another could pick up.

I have a similar problem with the the same printer.  Excel works fine until you ask to print preview, this takes about a minute to appear, and about another minute if you ask it to print too.  Once you've printed and are back in Excel anything you try to do now has a delay.  I've tried then changing the printer i want to use to a networked one which makes Excel return to it's normal self.
I've also tried sharing this printer to make sure it wasn't the PC but it is the same on any I've tried.
