Web Browser on E72 closes unexpectedly

When I use the web browser on my new E72 it closes unexpectedly and somewhat randomly. All software is up to date.
I discovered that if I go to the following website I can make it close/crash every time:
http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR023.loop.shtml
Does anybody have the same problem (and a fix!) ?

Safari opens, no main browser window, then closes unexpectedly

I just recently upgraded, finally, to OS X 10.4.11. I tried opening safari right after, took forever for the icon to stop bouncing and have the black arrow underneath it, all the safari menus showed up, but no main browser window, though, and then it crashed.
Now it crashes every time and says that it quit unexpectedly, here is the crash log, I am using firefox as a temporary fix, but i want safari back!
any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Browsing folders - folder closes unexpectedly

Hi,
I just recently bought my first MacBook and I love it.
I have only one problem with it, and I'm not sure why this happens.
Twice when I was looking through my folders using Finder, the Finder window automatically closed whenever I tried to open a specific folder. In the most recent case, I couldn't access 3 folders. Each time I clicked on the folder to go into it, Finder closed itself. I ended up deleting the folders that were giving me problems.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but the folders were not created from Finder. I dragged the folders (with data and pictures files in them) off a USB drive onto my MacBook.
Any ideas why this would happen? Thanks in advance!

I went to work and tried it out on my boss' computer, which is the only other Mac around and it happened as well. So you must be right Thanks!
I was just really worried that it was a problem with my MacBook.
The odd thing is that I tried looking at it on a PC and I could open the folder. It turns out one picture out of the 4 in that folder was corrupt/non-viewable. So that must have been giving it problems.
Anyway, just wanted to explain in case anybody else has the same problem. Thanks for your help!

Display popup window when closing "X" web browser

Hi All - how I can display a popup window when user press "X" from web browser.
I know how to create popups windows but where I can code the popup window when the user close the browser?
e.g. I press at the top right the web browser "X" to close the browser, how I can display a popup asking if they want to SAVE the data before closing the browser.

are you sure?
If you close the browser window - even if you have set the portal work protect mode, set the app as dirty and running the app in the portal - the windows closes without any complaint.
If you were in the portal and tried to navigate away from the page, that would be a different thing - but a browser close is just that. You can capture the onUnload event of the browser window (not in WD - but JS) but you have no way of detecting that it is not just a page refresh.
Do a search for "intercepting browser close events" via google etc, to see just how tricky to build a solution would be.
So I'd say - no ability to stop browser close events - or to react to them - but yes to portal navigation type event within the portal. And further to that - I'd suggest using the FPM work protect mode interface to help you take advantage of the Portal work protection.

How to close the web browser already opened by a SAP report?

Hi all,
pretty strange question: a report written on an old 46C system "triggers" a web app opening a web link with the predefined browser.
I've seen many alternatives to open a web page (call method cl_gui_frontend_services=>execute, call method open_browser), but no methods to eventually close the browser and I wonder if it's possible.
The meaning of this request: the report will probably scheduled, so we'd like to trigger the web app and then close the browser... we are using this unusual method since managing web service calls in our obsolete system seems problematic (we opened a thread in SOA section specifically on the topic... seems it's not possible to do in a "clean" way).

After trying a bit, I noticed it's not possible since there's no control on the lauched application. Solved using a workaround, thanks

What are the KEYstroke(s) used to CLOSE the active tab in the web browser? I am reluctant to use a mouse where I can use keystrokes, as the mouse is a much slower process. In fact, can I find a list of all key strokes which can be used in Firefox, e.g. ALT+S followed by R (once or more) and ENTER used to restore previous browsing session; or CTRL+F to search for a specific word or term? Why is closing the browser important? Are you concerned about battery life?
To close any app that is running you can go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Running and force stop on the browser.
It is certainly harder than on PC or MAC platforms, and even on some other smartphones. At the same time, in many smartphones including Windows Mobile, iPhone, BB and others, the general model is different than computers - the general approach is that well behaved applications in essence are meant to be demanding no CPU when they are not in focus, unless there's some explicit background function like periodically obtaining e-mail and such.
Certainly this may not always be the case, especially if an app is not coded correctly - but generally the guidelines for developers of smartphone code across multiple platforms discourages having an exit button and instead focuses on how to make sure an app is well behaved and low in demand during expected prolonged periods of dormancy.

Unfortunately... is is not applicable....because:
1) Many users(application users) connect via a db user to the database.... , so i cannot relate each application user to a db session.
2) The trigger on_logoff can not be used because of the first note....
3) As i have written in my previous post the "exit_form" is not 'pure PL/SQL' code but 'forms' code.... It contains some 'erase(global_variables)' which are unknown to the db......

I know that a link or button in the Web browser can close the browser window. But I really don't if the applet can also do it.

E72-1 v081.003 bug? Unable to clear web browser ca...

Last week I installed software update V081.003 on my E72-1.
This weekend I used the internet for a while and next day it gave a "memory full" message.
Normal procedure was to clear the web browser cache memory, but was unable to do that with the new V081.003 software.
When I wanted to open the web browser to clear the cache it said (translated from Dutch); "unable to open application, clear memory first". But to clear the memory I have to start the web browser first, how can I clear the cache if the browser won't start? The only way to clear the memory was to install the backup file.
Question: Is this a bug in the new software?

Try first reinstall the firmware. it problem persist, perhaps a software reset can solve this or hard reset? LOL..my standard answer tonight.
An app like "kill task" or netqin can be useful for you?
Search the forum for memory full and look in those threads.

if I remember well the IE doesn't allow to close the browse by executing window.close() from teh page. However, redirecting the request to a HTML page that has window.close() in its onLoad event rigger should do this

Web browser closes when printing

Every time I have a web page on my screen that I want to print, as soon as I hit "file" then "print" my web browser automatically closes and I get an error message. I never used to have this problem.

As I said earlier. Play with JavaScript all you like. Good luck in finding a JavaScript method that will work 100% of the time. I've very doubtful you will.
The simplest test of JavaScript is the Alert, which you have tried. Often testing JavaScript will fail when testing locally. Sometimes it's because the Flash Security is blocking things. To fix that, click here and follow the instructions.
As for the slide, it all depends on your Captivate settings. If you want it blanked you can insert an image or something that would cover the background. Nav bar is another story. Probably just have to live with it that way or turn it off if you don't wish to see it. Or maybe insert a caption or image that indicates the movie has finished and to please close the window (since it didn't close automatically).
