Web Browser  -  removing cookies

For the past 5 x days I've been having trouble getting into a website I use daily.
Their technical person advised me to remove cookies from my browser, but I don't know how to do this, nor even where my browser is.
They've emailed me:
Thanks for your recent call about accessing our website.
As promised in our conversation, here are some tips for accessing our website. First, I suggest that you clear the cookies on your web browser. I then also suggest that you ensure that you are allowing cookies on your web browser as is you have blocked cookies, this will cause an issue with our website loading correctly and allowing you to login.
I also suggest downloading an alternative web browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox as these work well with our site.
If I can be of any further assistance please let me know. Alternatively, you are welcome to call the Members' Helpline on 01992 822800.  Lines are open from Monday to Friday 0830-1800 and Saturday 0900-1300.
I wish you the best with the rest of your day.
Kind Regards,

Hey yvonne.duncan100,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you wish to remove cookies in Safari as part of troubleshooting with a third-party. To remove cookies and other website data in Safari, see the following:
Safari 6 (OS X Mountain Lion): Remove cookies and other data
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11920
Websites often store cookies on your hard disk. Cookies help websites identify you when you return so the site can provide services for you and show information that might be of interest to you.
Important: Changing your cookie preferences or removing cookies in Safari may change or remove them in other apps, including Dashboard.
1. Open Safari if it is not already open.
2. Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click Privacy.
3. Click Details.
4. Select one or more websites that stores cookies, and then click Remove or Remove All.
5. When you finish removing websites, click Done.
Note: These same steps are applicable for Safari 7.0 (OS X Mavericks)
Thanks,
Matt M.

  • RichTech's Atomic Web Browser Missing From The App Store

Can anyone please check and see if they are able to locate and download this alternative browser on their iPad? I'm with a friend and we were trying to load apps on their new iPad and if you click on an outside link or try to search for it you get no results. It's like it's missing from the App store entirely.

Looks like Atomic Web browser was pulled from the App Store due to the use of private APIs in violation of Apple's policy:

  • Apple Users Can't Get Rid Of The New 'Super Cookies' That Track Private Web Browsing

Further to the article "Apple Users Can't Get Rid Of The New ‘Super Cookies’ That Track Private Web Browsing" https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-users-cant-rid-super-180500863.html, is there a solution to resolve this security issue?
    Here's an excerpt from the above mentioned article;
"Apple users are particularly vulnerable, as their devices do not have a function that lets users delete super cookies from their browsers.
Most websites place what’s called a “cookie” on visitors’ computers, which is used to track them and record their preferences. It’s how websites can remember your password, for example. Like your web browsing history, they’re easy to delete. If you use your browser’s “private browsing” mode they’re never saved in the first place — and advertisers can't track you, and other computer users can't go back and see what you looked at.
However, a flaw in a modern web security feature called “HTTP Strict Transport Security” (HSTS) allows websites to plant “super cookies” that can be used to track web users’ browsing habits even when private browsing is enabled.
    Here’s how it works.
Security researcher Sam Greenhalgh writes that HSTS “allows a website to indicate that it should aways be accessed using a secure connection that encrypts your communication with the site.” This “flag” is then saved by your web browser, ensuring that any future visits to the website are secure. But this can also be abused, using this feature to store a unique number that can be used to track your web browser.
And because HSTS carries over into private browsing, it means the “super cookie” can be used to track you whether you’re attempting to cover your steps or not.
Greenhalgh says that Apple’s Safari web browser is especially vulnerable to the exploit. While clearing cookies on Mozilla’s Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera also erases HSTS flags, deleting the super cookies, there’s no way to do so on Safari on iOS devices.
This means that if you’ve had super cookies placed on your iPad or iPhone, there’s effectively no way to get rid of them short of reformatting the entire machine."

    Hi all,
I tried this with IOS 7.1.2 Safari on an iPad retina and the super cookie did not persist after web data and history was deleted.
I also tried this with IOS 8.1.2 Safari on an iPhone 6, and the super cookie persisted even after deleting web history and website data.
Evidently it was ok on 7.1.2 and broken on 8.1.2.

Only found one question similar and NO ANSWER to it.

Same problem here...nothing in my settings have changed since the upgrade and I've checked my cookie settings and they allow 3rd party cookies. What's up Mozilla? I've been faithful to you for years and you let me down now?

  • Cookies and JFrame Web Browser

    Hello,
Currently I'm trying to analyze of making a java web browser. I have found several versions of code that enable JFrame of Java to be a web browser, some even go as far as having a back anf forth feature and history. The only thing I cannot find is how to save and use cookies. While I found some things that allow code to save cookies, I need some help in implementing into the web browser. The web browser currently works but if I try something that require a cookie, like logging into gmail, it will tell that I need to have cookies enable (likely to be capable to take cookies and then use them).
Does anyone know a way to do that? Or know what direction to look?

    Anyone?

  • How to remove the frame from an ActiveX Web Browser window

I'm using a web browser window to display content from a web application in my LV front panel.  I'd really like the content to appear as native parts of the front panel rather than being inside a frame.  Is there a method that will allow me to hide or remove the frame from the ActiveX control?  I've tried to make it a custom control and edit the decoration out but that does not seem to work.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Quite right, in my 8.2 the web browser is already borderless (probably transparent). If your web browser window doesn't look good you should be able to insert it into the activeX one, the other should be a special case.

  • Do I need to delete all the cookies in my web browser before installing?

since I think I have messed things up, I think I will do the uninstall
process  before I install from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP
do I need to do the following:
    1. make sure I delete all the cookies in my web browser first??
    2. then use the uninstall tool
    3.reboot
    4. and reboot again
    5. then try to install Flash player?

No, there is absolutely no need to delete any cookies before installing Flash Player (or anything else, for the matter).
However, it is never a bad idea to clear your browser cache on a regular basis.

  • Removal or rollback for web browser 7.3.1.26

    Hello everyone
In short, I've upgraded my E5-00 with the last upgrade available, which included Web Browser 7.3.1.26, but I need to remove it and return to the original version which shipped with my device.
    Background:
I'm a blind person, and use an assistive software to operate my phone, Nuance Talks 5.20.3 for the records.
This software operates perfectly well with the Nokia web browser, version previous to 7.3.1.26.
Unfortunately, as I've stated, after the upgrade, it is no longer the case, and Talks is no longer able to read the web pages, nor some other windows in the device, such as mail bodies, i expect it to be caused by those other apps using the same core of the browser.
All that said, is there any proper way of returning my device to its original software? Needless to be said, #*7370# didn't work.
Best regards and thanks for any advice.
    André

Yes I too have noticed a major major problem with v7.3.1.26 but because I'm the only dummy at work to allow the upgrade I'm the only one with the problem..........
The new auto-search function has all but destroyed my working ability. All of my bookmarks are to internal work sites & databases and now none of the work because of this new auto search, so now I get redirected to silly websites that are similar to my work domain. Any suggestions?

  • No access to ebay due to web browser settings blocking cookies.

I have Windows 7 and use Firefox. All of a sudden when I try to sign in on one of my computers to ebay a window pops up and tells me "Your web browser settings are blocking cookies"--therefore I can`t sign in. My other computers do not have this problem. I have changed no cookie settings in the Options/Privacy section. What did I screw up and how can I correct it?

  • How can I unlock the cookies for this web browser

My web browser is locked and I need to unlock it to log in to a web acccount

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by "locked". Is that a message a web page is giving you, or a pop-up dialog, or ???

  • Message: Your Web browser must accept cookies in order for you to send your data. Please adjust your browser settings to enable this site to store cookies.

    Hello! I have two questions.
    (1) I want to submit a question through www.tune-up.com but the website does not accept my inquiry.
I get the following message: "Your Web browser must accept cookies in order for you to send your data. Please adjust your browser settings to enable this site to store cookies and access this site again."
I checked my cookie settings, and it looks like I have the Firefox default settings (i.e. cookies are accepted). Tried to submit my inquiry again but it does not work. Please advise how to make sure I can submit inquiries etc.
    (2) I want to start using the Google search again but not sure how do change the settings. I do not want to have DuckDuck Go as my default. Would you please describe how to change back to Google? Also, is the problem I described above perhaps related to the DuckDuckGo search engine I use?
I look forward to your assistance which is greatly appreciated - Thank you!

On #1, you can check the site-specific cookie setting using the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog. When you are on the page, you can open that dialog using either:
    * right-click the page > View Page Info > Permissions
    * click the padlock or globe icon in the address bar > More Information > Permissions
Skim or scroll down to "Set Cookies" to make sure it is not set to Block.
If that is okay, some other random thoughts:
    * Are you using the site in a private browsing window?
    * Do you recall disabling DOM storage, which sites sometimes use instead of cookies to store large blobs of data (Firefox controls access to DOM storage using your cookie setting for the site)?
On #2, your default search engine should not have changed. To change it to Google, you can use the icon on the left end of the search bar (the classic small search box that appears on the toolbar). Please see: [[Search bar - add, change and manage search engines on Firefox]].
I don't think there is any connection between #2 and #1.

  • Save all the cookies and web browser history...

Is there a program that can save all the cookies and web browser history for imac.
all the pages my kids will visit. on the internet

as I told you, turn on parental controls on their accounts. then you can control which sites they are allowed to visit and parental controls also save a log of every site they visit. your kids won't be able to delete that log. only an admin user can do that.
parental controls are turned on in system preferences->parental controls.
