Sun's J2sdkee1.3 is built on tomcat server. When tomcat is started up by j2sdkee it doesn't load (or ignores) the ./conf/server.xml file where should be defined the web context used by tomcat, like:

trusted="true" >
</Context>
And I cannot find a way to add a context which has a different document base as the one defined in the ./config/web.properties

Web cache crash after serving first request from Mozilla browser

Observing this with version 2.0.0.0.0 of the web cache. The first request from a Mozilla browser is successfully responded to - snoop output shows html delivered correctly in response to the GET. Immediately after that request is satisfied, the webcached is not running, with no core file or mention in event_log as to what could be wrong even in verbose mode -- last mention in the event log is "cache inserted one file '/foo.html' in bucket 47630".
The problem occurs even with default cacheability rules- changing expiration rules seems to make no difference.

There were some problems with the 2.0.0.0.0 version with regard to the size of response headers. Please download the 9.0.2.0.0 version and see if that fixes the problem. This is the version you should be evaluating anyway. 2.0.0.0.x is over a year old now and 9.0.2.0.0 has undergone more testing and trial deployments than in previous releases.

BPEL Web Service with OWSM Server Agent NOT AUTHENTICATING

I have deployed OWSM Server Agent to enable WS-Security Username/Password Authentication following the steps in the below URL.

The OWSM agent configuration is working fine with individual Web Services.
For BPEL, the authentication is not happening if we call the default endpoint from JAVA proxy or Soap UI e.g
http://host.domainame:7777/orabpel/bpelprocess1/050101 - Authenticates as per the OWSM policy and WORKS FINE
http://host.domainame:7777/orabpel/bpelprocess1 - Executes the process WITHOUT authenticating
Any help would be appreciated.

What is strange, that user was able to authenticate from other before refresh WLC 4402 ver 4.2.207. I cannot change WLC because of AP which cannot run old version.

I know there is different Policy Name used, but my question is why it is not using the same as on old WLC when configuration is same.
Is there any way I can force users to use different policy from WLC or AP configuration or is this solely configuration of Radius?
Is it maybe problem of version 7.0.235?

You are probably right. The condition that is checked for the first policy name (we have 2) is to match
NAS-Port-Type = Wireless - IEEE 802.11, and this is basically used to differentiate guests from other company users.
as you can see from the logs the one that is working correctly is not sending NAS-Port-Type. The question is why.
As I said before.
WLC 5508 ver. 7.0.235 is sending NAS-Port-Type
WLC 4402 ver. 4.2.207 is not.
The same user was working OK on 4402 WLC and after refresh and associating APs to 5508 it all broke, so client did not changed anything on adapter.

FRM-92101: Load Balancing Forms 10g with Web Cache

IÂ´m having some problems with Oracle Forms and Webcache 10g and I was wondering if you
could help.
Machines: (Pentium IV 2.6 GHz; 2GB RAM; 80GB HD)
A. Red Hat Linux AS 2.1
Oracle AS 10g - Infrastructure Installation
B. Windows 2000 Server - Service Pack 4
Oracle AS 10g - BI and Forms Installation (Using Infrastructure on machine A)
C. Windows 2000 Server - Service Pack 4
Oracle AS 10g - BI and Forms Installation (Using Infrastructure on machine A)
I didnÂ´t apply any Patchsets of Oracle AS 10g. My current version is 9.0.4.0 .
Goal:
Use Oracle Webcache 10g on machine B for Load Balancing an Oracle Forms Application
on machines B and C.
Facts:
The Oracle AS 10g installation on the 3 machines was made without problems.
The Forms Applications are running without problems on both Forms servers in machine B and C.
Symptoms:
IÂ´m getting the following error when I try to acces the forms application through Webcache:
FRM-92101: There was a failure in the forms server during startup.
This could happen due to invalid configuration.
Please look in the web-server log file for details.
But, this error happens ONLY when BOTH OC4J_BI_Forms instances (machines B and C) are
running.
When just one of the OC4J_BI_Forms is running everything works fine.
Webcache Configuration:
IÂ´ve followed Metalink note 207668.1: Configuring Web Cache as a Load Balancer for Application Servers
step by step to make the configuration of the following components:
1. Configuration of the origin servers
2. Configuration of Site definitions
3. Configuration of Site to server mapping
After that, IÂ´ve follwed the Metalink note 229900.1: Integrating and using Web Cache with Forms 9i for Load Balancing
step by step to make the configuration of the following components:
4. Session Binding
Then I try to test the Load Balancing and I got the error FRM-92101 when both OC4J_BI_Forms
instance were running.
IÂ´ve searched Metalink and found note 268830.1: Webcache Won't Load Balance 2 Forms Instances.
Following the note instructions I did the following changes:
Added these lines at the end of HTTPD.conf (machine B):
CookieTracking On
CookieName myformscookie1
Added these lines at the end of HTTPD.conf (machine C):
CookieTracking On
CookieName myformscookie2
In Webcache configuration:
IÂ´ve Changed the default session binding from JSESSIONID to "ANY SET COOKIE" for the
site's session binding.
But even after these changes IÂ´m getting FRM-92101 error on the same conditions.
How can I solve this problem ?

Just ran into this problem last Tuesday, Nov.30 and applied the changes today.
My configuration is similar to yours: 9.0.4 web cache on machine A, 9.0.4 10gAS forms and reports standalone on machine B and C (not a cluster, no infra).
I appended the Cookie lines you mentioned in httpd.conf located in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf in both machines B and C.
One important thing you may have missed. After changing httpd.conf in each 9iAS instance, you need to make the change known to dcmctl so issue:
dcmctl updateConfig -ct ohs
Then do the following for each 9iAS instance and it should be ready for webcache:
dcmctl stop
dcmctl start
Setup Any-set-Cookie in webcache instead of JSESSIONID and the whole thing should now work. You can run a form through machine A which will load balance to either machine B or C (which can both be up). Then, try shutting down 9iAS on machine B or C and run a form again. They now all work.

We are just about wrapped up with our Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.3) version for Windows NT. As you've seen, we have released the 903 version for a number of Unix platforms (Solaris, HP-UX, HP-Tru64, Linux) already and the Windows platform will follow shortly.
For the moment, if you're running on Windows and want to use the J2EE 1.3 functionality, you can download the pure Java OC4J 903 distribution available from OTN. This is the same set of Java code that is the 9iAS distribution.

RESTful services with UCM

We currently integrate our external web apps with UCM using .NET WCF services to call UCM SOAP services. We would like to change to using RESTful services to integrate with UCM. Is this possible? Can you please point me to any examples/documentation to do this? We are currently on UCM 10gr3 but will be upgrading to web center content 11g. Is this something that is supported in either versions?

Actually WC Content does not support CMIS in a stand-alone mode as it support Java / Soap etc . The only way to include / use Rest / CMIS services are through WC Portal . But , there too the limitation is that the operations can be done in Read Only mode only .
So , I am not sure if going ahead with CMIS / REST based solution is the best approach .
The only references to cmis class files are under <WC Portal Home>/webcenter/modules/oracle.webcenter.content.integration11.1.1.0/

Web cache and SSL certificates

We just installed Oracle9iAs 9.0.2.3 on 2 separate machines. All the components have been set up to use SSL and HTTPS protocol and are working fine.
On the mid-tier server we are having a problem where the web cache is throwing up the network error page every time the mid-tier apache home page is invoked or Portal home page is invoked. After a few refreshes the page is ultimately displayed.
I was told that we need a real valid certificate to avoid this issue between web-cache and apache server.
Has anyone created self-signed certificates for their test machines apache server?? What software or method was used to create self-signed valid certificates for test purpose?

Whenever I try to go to the portal home page The web cache is simply displaying the default network error apology page, which says, 'No response from the Application server' in big red. I have to refresh the page a few times to display the portal home page. And this happens a few times when I am browsing through the portal pages too.

How I now if Web Cache is working??

I can access the Oracle Application Server Control Manager and I can see the Web Cache Component running.
Now, I go to jesi_template.jsp demo to see if my Web Cache is working, but when I refresh the page, the date and time is equal in jesi_template.jsp and ESI Fragment.
I have my Web Cache and Application Server in the same server (host).
My question is: Is this correct? or the dates and times would have to be different?

Standalone webcache or Web cache from Oracle Apps Server 10.1.2.0.2?

I am installing web cache on two servers in web tier and J2EE server (with OHS) on another two servers in apps tier. Should I use standalone webcache or install from Oracle Apps Server package? If I choose Oracle Apps Server package, I have to disable Home, HTTP components. But it is DCM managed. Any suggestions?
And should I deploy my OHS servers on web cache servers in the web tier? In future we want to expand J2EE installation, we will deploy Portal with SSO, OID etc.

My office is a Mac environment with a couple of windows pcs. To save on bandwidth i would like to setup a Mac OS X Snow leopard server with a web caching proxy, forward proxy. I read this link from apple

i understand that to set this up i must enable it on my Mac Server and also on the clients(end user) web browser. What i don't understand is this part:
"When setting up a forward proxy, make sure you create and enable a website for the proxy. You might want to disable logging on the proxy site or configure the site to record its access log in a separate file from your other sites’ access logs. The site does not need to be on port 80 but setting up web clients is easier if its browsers use port 80 by default."
Create and enable a website for the proxy??? I don't understand, why do i need a website for web caching? Shouldn't the settings in the web browser direct the http requests to the mac server and it does the rest, what has a website got to do with it and what type of website?How?
