Web cam - Nokia 5800

How is it possible using my Nokia 5800 to have a video conference with someone how is infront of a pc with a web cam?

Run a google search for a piece of software called "mobiola". It allows you to use a S60 phone as a webcam.

Nokia 5800 Web Configuration

Yesterday I bought a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. Before I had a Nokia 6110 Navigator and I used it also for surfing on the Internet with Wap with as APN "Vodafone Live" (or else the Vodafone promotion wasn't valid).
Well, I tried to configurate the new 5800 for surfing in Web but I really can't understand how to configurate it and how to set the APN!
Can someone explain me how to do? Because in the guide there is no explanation... (that's absurd though!)

i add information: this only happens with the browser connected via WLAN. until today, i couldn't install the opera mini browser from mini.opera.com page. today i connected via 3g and downloaded and installed opera mini without a problem. and about this: with opera browser seems to happen the same... the program asks me twice about the connection (i choose always "internet", with mi WLAN name) and the hangs in "connecting"...
so, viewing the evidences, it seems to be some kind of problem with the WLAN....
ah, one more thing to note: the phone was connected to the battery charger this last time i tried opera.
my settings in the default nokia browser are: connection: internet
and the settings in settings->conectivity are:
settings->conectivity -> destination-> internet i have the acces point of my home (priority 1) and my provider(priority 2)
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> show avail : yes
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> search network : 5 min
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> test connec: never
yes, the two browsers works fine with 3g internet (now i installed gmail, the application downloaded from his site)
bad, i need a solution for this... the WLAN was one of the things i was most interested about this phone... :'(

Camera quality of my nokia 5800

i have nokia 5800
quality of cam is 3.2 megapixel
resolution 2048 * 1536
when i entered nokia website and compared it with nokia e66
i found that they have the same camera quality
but in fact 5800 camera quality is very very bad in compare to nokia e66 which appearde clear
i updated my software version to v52
i hated this camera
can nokia or anyone solve this problem for me

I found the 5800XM camera to be quite good for such a small lens and sensor.

NOKIA 5800 WEB BROWSER HELP!

My web browser on my nokia 5800 does not work anymore. I go onto the web browser and the phone freezes and stops responding until the web browser can shut it self down. I am currently using the opera web browser available on the Ovi Store. I need help to get my web browser working again. Any advise?

You can discount a virus as a cause of your issues. If it wasn't for the loss of data involved, I would have suggested restoring your 5800XM to "factory settings" and re-formatting memory card, there is obviously corrupt data on your device/memory card.

Nokia 5800 Web Browser Encoding messed up for TIS-...

Model: Nokia 5800 XPressMusic
Software version: 20.0.012
Type RM-356
CustomVersion: 20.0.012.C01.01
The problem is when I browse to web site that using 'Thai (TIS-620)' charset,
the character appears like it is using 'Western' charset.
but when i go to setting > page and change default encoding to 'Thai (Windows)' it can work properly
for example
http://www.komchadluek.net/pda/
that page use 'TIS-620' as default charset. so if i open it, the character messed up
and then try change encoding to 'Thai (Windows)' it can display the page properly.

Nokia 5800 Web browser not reponding

Hi Guys,
I'm having this problem where the Nokia 5800 Web Browser hangs the phone. It shows the first page of any address properly, but doesn't navigate to any links from the page, not even simple google search is working.
Is anybody facing this problem, please help. I have updated my firmware to v20 also.

Help in nokia 5800 logging to the web automaticall...

I bought the new nokia 5800 navigation edition but i have a problem that the phone log into the web every day automatically without my permissions so it costs me the daily price for web in my country
so please I want to know which application or what log into the web every day and how to stop it as I tried every thing put I couldn't stop it

forget about everyone who says to reset you're phone using codes.
they do not help in any way and only fix things untill you have your settings again and then everything goes back to the same.
there are services from your network carrier that use an automatic connection and for those you'll have no chance whatsoever of removing.
what you can do is not to delete the settings for the internet but to rename them.
imagine that you have in your internet setting something like
internet.vodafone.com
edit it to internet.vodafone.c
you know that it's a .com and when you need internet you just need to add the rest.
it's a pain to keep doing this i know but it's a solution.
*warning* - it's possible that you will not be able to edit that configs where they are located. mine are in the uncategorized and those are locked, you can delete them but you can't add them.
if you have the internet settings there just write the settings on a paper and then delete them.
go to the internet section, add a new one with that data and make it the last in the priority.
set it to "after permission" and you'll have a better control of the internet connections (like coolbelief told you in his first post)

Can anyone please let me know how to activate/select the secondary camera for capturing images present on the front side of Nokia 5800 express music???
By default only the back camera functions while taking pictures. How to take pictures from the secondary camera???

Psycho is right the front camera has very low resolution therefore it is not really viable as a camera for pictures, it was meant for the video and not for pictures, tho you are able to use it to take pictures with the firmware v20....

The above camera instructions do not work, and the option to use the secondary camera as stated above doesn't exist. However, the secondary camera does work during video calls, if you want to pay extra for these, depending on your network provider and tariff.
Am I alone on this? I have contacted Nokia technical support and they are none the wiser either on this. I have checked my model with identical models and this option just isn't there.
I have been using the on-line 5800 manual (camera settings are on page 56), as I have found that the guides that comes with my phone is next to useless.

If your phone has v10 or v11 firmware the front camera can only be used for video calls.
If your phone has v20 (or newer) firmware the front camera can be used to capture videos and photos as described in the latest version of the online manual.
To check which version your phone has dial *#0000# and it will tell you on the screen that appears.
To check for firmware updates see the user manual or:
www.nokia.com/softwareupdate
Note: v20 may not be available to you yet if you have a network supplied or branded model.

Nokia 5800 XM camera flash not working since last ...

I had purchased the Nokia 5800 XM and the camera was fine, and it still is, but the flash for night photos does not work. It has completely stopped working.
What is the solution to fix it?

Please go to your camera settings and activate Night shooting mode or night portrait mode and Turn on the flash.
If this does not work please perform a hard reset using the code *#7370# security code 12345 if asked, remember to back up first using Nokia Suite.
As your flash is is working during the day, I do not think that this issue is a hardware problem. But if these steps do not solve your issue please visit a Nokia Care Point to take a closer look at your device.
