Web camera not start

dear sir ,
i have a HP Pavilion dv6_6160se Notebook. In my system cyber link you cam not work properly . when i go device manager and sellect cyberlink virtual driver and clik this message shown on the screen " no driver installed for this device " and when i click" update driver " through automatic updation the message display on the screen that " windows found driver but not install encounterd an error access denined ".
so, what i can do to successfully install cyber link virtual driver version 6.0.5600.0 dated: 11/1/2010

You might actually have a hardware problem with the webcam itself. If the Cyberlink software was for Windows XP you can try this Cyberlink YouCam Software which is compatible for Windows 7. If you continue to have issues with this then I suggest you have someone check out the webcam itself. You can call HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or start here if you live outside of North America.

Web cam wont start message says in use by another application

Hello I have recently purchased the Creative LIve!Cam Optia and for some reason the person I am talking to can't see me but I can see them just fine. Every time I go to call someone on Skype I plug in my camera and when the person answers a message pops up in the call tab saying "video error cannot find video source , check to see if it is in use by another application". I have no idea what other application could be using it because I ended up installing most of what came on the installation Cd. I have tried everything from selecting tools on skype then hit options, then I clicked on video settings, then I selected Li've!Cam Optia as my web cam as opposed to selecting default web cam. Then the same message pops up again " Skype did not find preferred video source. Webcam could be in use by another application". The thing that really frustrates me is that sometimes it works perfectly find then it freezes and I try to restart the video and then I loose it completely! PLease help someone I have returned camera prior to this one I don't want to have to do it again for this one. Thank you.

Two choices left - download iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - and use its rebuild command - this will rebuild yoru library leaving the original untouched so you can go back to it is things do not make yo happy - this will keep your edits, metadata and events but will not keep projects
If that does not work Right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents - look in the masters folder - are your original photos there? If so (and if you have adaquate disk space) duplicate the masters folder and rename the iPhoto library "iPhoto library old" - depress the option key and launch iPhoto ancd create a new library - drag the masters folder to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import your original photos with your events
This will give you a new library with your originals - edits, projects and metadata changes will not be available
And critically start Time Machine up and leave it running

No you are not dumb nor is it cam or software issue. I have addressed this issue several times in the forum. Oh how I wish the HP Moderator will post resolved answer. You found the web-cam software thats a pluss. So I can skip that. Least you found it. Slide the web-cam icon up ward and in the middle of screen and tap it. This now opens web-cam software. Your camera shoud now be on look at the center top of your computer you should see the green light on. Bottom of web-cam sceen is your control for recording. Press capture to record video and press snap shot to take picture. Side bar is additional effects you can add to your picture or video tap on your choice. To replay your vedio or picture just tap on your choice. tap on the washer like icon von this is where you set web-cam timer settings and other stuff at. You should be all set now. It only can be excessed in HP Touchsmart software window.Carousel is rotated till you find web-cam icon. Version 3 software is located on bottom row icons slide bottom row until see web-cam icon. Slide Web-cam icon up and in center screen and tap it. Tap it again if you do not see capture button. All set now have fun.

Personal Web sharing not starting

I've been trying to start personal web sharing and it's not starting up...I already did the apachectl start command in the terminal and I got the following message:
Syntax error on line 8 of /private/etc/httpd/users/+entropy-php.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/php5/libphp5.so into server: (reason unknown)
/usr/sbin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started
[Process exited - exit code 3]
I had problems installing php before that happened...and it seems that I can't still the latest version of php since I tried installing it many times and all came out with errors. What can I do in order to make web sharng start? Thanks in advance
Never mind guys...sorry but I think I found the answer, I searched the forum before but I couldn't find it...sorry about that...be safe

Cosizzle, not sure this will help either, but try trashing...
/Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences... the whole Prefs folder there.
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration... the whole SysConfig folder.
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.AppleFileServer.plist
Reboot... of course you dont have to trash them, you can just move them to the desktop to drag back if it doesn't work.

Web Sharing Not Starting Up After installing PHP

On Mac OS 10.4.9 on a G4 PPowerbook, using O'Reilly's "Learning PHP and MySQL," my Personal Web Sharing will not start up.
I enabled Apache per their instructions and things seemed fine.. Then I i installed PHP with these commands, sudo vi/etc/httpd/httpd.conf , then %s/#LoadModule php/LoadModule php/. Then %x/#AddModule php/AddModule php/. Then <espcape>:wq. Then
vi ~/Sites/test.php
o
<?php phpinfo() ?>
<escape>:wq
First of all, the test query from the book didn't work quite right, but now my Personal Web Sharing won't start up. It says "starting up." forever.
Help. And if you can't tell, I have extremely limited knowledge of Unix and command lines, etc.
What do I do? Assume I know nothing... : )

The first thing to do is read the Apache error log which will give you more detail about what's gone wrong.
<pre class=command>tail /var/log/httpd/error_log</pre>
The other thing to do is run configtest which might also indicate errors in the configuration:
<pre class=command>sudo apachectl configtest</pre>
although it'll probably tell you the same thing as the error log.

How can I get WebAS to not start-up after restarting Windows?

I would like to not have my WebAS auto start after I reboot windows.
I found of couple of options in Configuration tool but they did not stop it.
We have a firewall product that I cannot disable (per security policy), but I can terminate it once I get the desktop. However by that time WebAS has started and encounters blocks from firewall, and once this happens, half the time it causes my jcontrol.exe to result in NIETIMEOUT messages and once THAT happens I have to uninstall and reinstall EVERYTHING.
So, how can I configure WebAS to not automatically start-up after rebooting windows? I have searched help.sap.com and looked for options in Visual Admin and Configure tools.

Easier than it seems
Go to Administrative Tools/ Services in Windows.
Change Startup type of the services to Manual.
You can just sort by the 'Log On As' Column
".\SAPServiceJ2E"
or whatever you instance name is. You can always start the service from the MMC console after this.

LT2223 ThinkVision Monitor - Inbuilt Web Camera not working

I am using a LT2223zwC monitor which has a built in Web Camera but does't seems to be working - Skype cannot detect the camera and I have no idea how to get it work. Tried the Lenovo Web Conferencing from Control Panel, it only allows me to adjust the Speaker and Mic.
Any assistance is much appreicated.

Web Cam Not ditect after instaling Windows 8- HP ENVY15-3040nr

I installed windows 8 for my HP ENVY15-3040nr.
installed as a press instalation (formated my HDD)
downloaded and intalled all compatible drivers and software form HP support site. But my web cam is not ditected.
At the device manager I can see two deices not installed
unknown device
USB-IF xHCI Host Controller
Please help me to solve this issue

Have you used the HP Support Assistant to search for any missing drivers or driver updates? If not, I would downloading it and running it to see if it can find anything. I would also recommend that you check and make sure all of your Windows Updates are installed. Try that and let me know if it helps find the missing drivers for you.

FIM Web Service not starting

Hello,
Recently our FIM web service quit starting in our dev environment. I notice the change when the domain controllers were re-ip'd. When we try to start them manually we receive the following error.
"The Forefront Identity Manager Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
I am baffled at this point as we did not reference the IPs of AD when we configured our dev-environment, so nothing should have changed. At this point I'm not really sure where to begin looking; would this be an issue with the SharePoint configuration,
access for the service account on the server, or something else. I have validated that the service account we are using is unlocked and it has the correct password. Unfortunately there is nothing in event viewer when the error is thrown.

I found that a config file was somehow renamed and had an extra .config at the end of it. After fixing the file name the service started up no problems. Path to config file below:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager\2010\Service\Microsoft.ResourceManagement.Service.exe.config

I would uninstall the software for the Webcam and download it from the document on how to reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer. Web browser not started by java gui 7.20

When I click a link icon that points to a document on my content server, it does not start a web browser
to open the url.

you can verify with following steps:
Please enable tracing according to [note 683960|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/683960] and add trace keys GMUX and C_GMUX by removing the comment symbols in front of the last two lines of the list.
Then perform the steps, which should result in opening that URL in the browser.
Open the trace file and search for "GMUX Request".
In case there are such entries, the corrections part of [note 1444941|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1444941] should solve your problem.
Otherwise you might want to create a support message on component BC-FES-JAV, so we can look into this.

I have read your post on how the webcam is not working on your notebook computer, and I would be happy to be of assistance!
Since you have attempted to remove and re-install the software, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point when the webcam was working. This can be done by following this document on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
If the issue persists, I also suggest performing a backup and recovery of your Operating System. This can be done by following this document on Backing Up Your Files (Windows 8), as well as Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8). This should help return your system back to factory defaults.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

Web Cam not registering

Hi Everyone,
I've just purchased a Rocketfish Notebook Web Cam to use in ichat (and hopefully, in skype). The webcam works fine on its own, but I wasn't able to get it to work on ichat.
After reading through some of the other support pages, I purchased ecamm's ichatusbcam program (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/ichatusbcam/). I've also verified and repaired my permissions, restarted my computer, unplugged and used a different plug for the webcam, and restarted the rocketfish driver and application as well as ichat, and i've still been unsuccessful.
The main problem is that when choosing the video source on ichat (ichat AV version 3.1.8 (v445) framework v429), i have only the option of audio or screenshot. It doesn't seem to register that there's a camera plugged in. I haven't received any error messages, and in the video part of my preferences menu, it just says that there is no camera connected to the computer (but again, i can see myself in the webcam window at the same time as i'm reading this message).
I'm running 10.4.10 and I don't have an intel based mac or a built in video.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

Do you mean that you can see yourself in the iChat Preview ?
If you can then the Camera and iChatUSBCam are working.
If you mean something else can you explain it differently ?
Where in iChat are you trying to select the Camera ?
Is it in the Video Menu (to the Right of Buddies) ? Or does this read Audio ?
IS the Camera Enabled item ticked in this menu ?
Or do you mean in iChat > Preferences > Video section ?
If the "Webcam Window" is not from the iChat application then quit it as the camera can not be shared between two applications.

Jmf web cam not recognize under ubuntu 12.04

I installed the jmf2.11e under ubuntu 12.04 following all the steps of the guide jmstudio seems to work well I open a movie in rtp.
the problem and the web cam is not recognized and when I try to get to recognize capture devices

if that were true, there is another way to use the web cam using java and integrate it with the jmf
my application should use the webcam under linux
and transporting the contents in rtp,
All this works fine under Windows
Fortunately linux should be spotless and without bugs :)
