Hi, I've checked the documentation... without any luck; here is a more precis issue-description. Thanks for your comments - I'm rellay greatful!!! This quesiton is also referenced in another thread with another issue-subject.
Here is a description of my problem:
I have a query which returns values for materials grouped by purchasing groups:
Group 1 Material A KyeFigure
Group 1 Material B KyeFigure
Result: KyeFigure
Group 2 Material C KyeFigure
Group 2 Material D KyeFigure
Result: KyeFigure
I'm using a Web application designer chart to present the values graphically. I would like only to present the result rows in the chart, not item values. But since the chart picks all KFs presented in the table (items as well) this is not the case. I've tried to find a way in the chart-settings without any luck - it seems not possible. The documentation states that you're supposed to design your table the way you want it to show in the chart. However, I'm not allowed to redesign the cube or the report.
My question is: Is there a way to extract the result rows into a new table and then base my chart on that one or simply somehow present only the result rows in a chart?

Results web part showing results before search query is typed in search box

I am creating a wiki site in which the home page has a search box web part, and a results web part. I have the search box configured to return the results to the results web part. I created a result source and changed the query on the results
web part to use this results source. I am getting results from the library I am trying to, but...
1) The results web part is showing results when the page is loaded before any query is typed into the search bar. Why is this and can it be configured to just be blank until a query is entered into the search bar?
2) Is it possible to have 1 search box and 1 results part have 2 different scope choices? ie, 1 scope for the wiki library and 1 for a document library?

So I have to have 2 different search result web parts to have 2 different scopes if I wish to have the search and results occur on the same page? Would I also have to have 2 search boxes?
Also, I am trying to figure out this issue where results are being returned without anything being entered in the search box. I have {searchterms?} in my query, and documentation suggests this to be the way to handle this issue, but I continue to get
results shown in the results web part without even entering a search query. Please assist.

Results row charting in WAD

Hello, I have a question regarding charting only the results in WAD. Currently, I have a % Lot Acceptance Calculated Key figure and in my Rows "Vendor" Upon executing, I get each individual Vendor counts which fall in the % Lot Acceptance bucket. I then retrieve the results, summed up view but when I chart this in WAD, I do not want any low level results but only the rolled up results. Currently WAD will not chart the results row.
Any suggestions on what approach I should take? Should I possibly be pre-calculating the % Lot Acceptance in the Update rules and create a new field % Lot Acceptance which holds the "resulted" value? Should I utilize Virtual Characteristics/Key Figures? Thanks for your help in advance.

Arun, thank you for the welcome in the other thread.
I've tried your suggestion to remove any drill downs to get the "resulted" view but in doing so once I remove the characteristic Vendor from the rows, I do not get a value for any of the buckets. The Characteristic Vendor needs to be in the rows in order to get any values. But this in turn of course brings in each vendor which I somehow want to hide in order to get the resulted view to chart in WAD.
I've tried switching the results from Row to Column but that does not seem to be helping.

I have in my ods as follows.

Now when i generate report on this ODS
I am getting qty value in my report for t.type 100 as 9.
Is there any way to get the value as 3 instead of 9 and also i want to show result row for this qty column as 3 .
Please advice .

Thanks for your quick reply.In RSA1 ,i choose KF>change>
In the aggregation tab >I selected
Aggregation - SUM
Exception Aggregate - Average of all values
Aggregate Ref char -0CALDAY .
Still in my report value for that qty is showing as total

Results row shown only at the bottom and not at each value level

Dear Experts
I have a report based on a multiprovider consisting infosets and a cube.
There are several row characteristics shown. 1 of these were set to show results row. But the results row is not shown at each value level but at across all its characteristics level, ie. at the bottom of this characteristic. So, only 1 results row shown and not 1 results row per each value of this characteristic.
Some other characteristics are showing multiple rows of results rows but at a certain grouping level and also not at per value level.
Please advise what could be the cause.

Solved.
Due to the concept works like this:
To see results row for a characteristic, must set it to the char infront, not to the char itself.
But then when user re-arranges the position of the row chars, there could be an issue.
Is this a constraint of BEx?

BO 4.0 Web Intelligence, Error: Column Chart shows not the whole data

Hello,
I want to create a case study in BusinessObjetcs 4.0 (Web Intelligence) with a column chart.
Year is the Category Axis and Revenue is the Value Axis.
Unfortunately the resulting chart shows only the year 2008.
If I choose Month as Regional Color the chart shows all years (2008-2011).
What I do wrong? Or is this a bug?

What I think is that there simply isn't data in the report other than the 2008,
or at least the combination of the section master/year only has 2008 data.
If that is not what you expect and there should be more data, also when looking specifically at the values for just this section,
then you could check if you may be have incomplete query results. Standard they will be limited to 5000 rows, unless your universe designer decides otherwise.
Check the number of rows returned (free cell with query details),
if it is 5000 (or any other nice round figure) have a chat with the universe designer.

Charts (Line chart) in apex 2.0 /3.0 limit of resulting rows in char area

Hello @apex experts,
does any body knows if there is a max number of resulting rows by using a line chart. It seems that until 150 resulting rows all is o.k. but when I try to get a line - chart area for a whole year (365 days) no chart is displayed. I spread out the chart area to 2056 x 800 px but no restult is displayed by using the > 300 resulting set.

I changed this and put usage of UTL_FILE into a dynamic PL/SQL. The package will
compile and work unless you want to create debug information. If yes, then it will raise an
error message. So, you don't need UTL_FILE execution priviledge from your DBA.
I opened the package and you may modify it the way that you don't need any public
synonyms and no UTL_FILE to run it.
There are so many questions in this forum related to "What is my DBA going to say?" or
"How is he going to react?". Even for some minor issues. I have myself also seen some
of similar situations and the only thing I can sey is:
You got to use that powerfull tool Oracle Database instead of hiding it away from your
users and developers. Learn how to control it instead of prohibiting access to it! Otherwise,
it's just a waste of money.

Web Template with document icon in result row

Hi All,
I have a web template created in WAD 7.0.
It has Analysis item with a Query as dataprovider.I have checked the "Document Icons for Data" to On in the cell content section of Analysis Item.
In query property also,Document link for infoprovider option is checked.
It is displaying the document icon in data cells correctly wherever comment is entered.But it also displays document icon in the result row cells.
I do not want to display the document icon in the result row cells.
Please help in this regard.

How to suppress Result rows in a Query in Web Application Designer

I am trying to post a query in Web Application Designer. I am able to run the query in WAD but the Results rows appear. I choose Suppress Result Rows always in All Characteristics option in the query in BEx Explorer but still i see result rows in the WAD. Can anyone please let me know how to suppress Result rows so that they dont appear in Web Application Designer.

To get the enhanced menu-
1. Open the template in WAD.
2. Go to Web Item properties.
3. Go to Entries in Context Menu.
4. Find the "Enhanced Menu" property. Set it to "display" if you want it to be visible in template result.
5. Next time when you execute your template you will be able to access it by right clicking.
or
If you just want to supress results without adding enhanced menu in the context menu, simply set "Calculate result as" to "No Display".

PY Mix and Val Gr KFs both key figures has got same definition(Same formula ).So i cant use Summation for both KYF in Exp Agge
For Val Gr   -Result Row should be sum of values in Column , i have maintained no settings .And showing value as expected

Result row shows min. value as Blank.

I have following scenario in query,
Eg.
1.Values in objects in column,                           10,000
                                                                        Blank (no value)
                                                                        2,000
                                                                        Blank(No value)
Result Row shows                                         Blank (instead of 2,000)
2. Values in same object in same column           10,000
                                                                        2,000
                                                                        3,000
                                                                        1,000
Result row shows                                          1,000 (which is Correct one)
If value in column is blank then it is showing me minimum value as blank but in real it has to display min of all row, second if row is not blank then it is showing correct min. value in result row (As mentioned in second examlp)
Please suggest me what i have to do to get exact min. of all values in Result row.

But i want min. values from all rows in my result row.if it is not suppresed by Zero then also it hase to display min value (I MEAN fIGURE LIKE 2,000) from row.
if i do supress Zero then it is diplaying as Blank hense all resulti row is display blank but i dont want that i want if row value is Zero or Blank it will display as min. of all figure NOT ZERO OR BLANK LIKE ABOVE EXAMPLE IT IS 2,000.

Overall results row - how not to show some columns

Dear Experts
I have set results rows enabled at a certain characteristic level.
So, at the rows level, the results row is showing.
But at the right-hand-side results columns, some of the keyfigure columns should not be displayed , for example, price should not be summed.
How can this be achieved using a query only?

HI,
As i dont have your report layout based on my assumptions i understand that you have put one char in rows column above the strucutre and thats why you are getting result in rows and column as well.
Now you need to hide the column result which indeed seems no to me i tried same on my system but i can only make the value and result blank but cannot hide the complete result column.
Please correct me if my understanding is worng or your requirement in something differnent.

Show Calculated Row/Field on Chart

I have a table which shows 3 rows and 2 columns and a sum row at the end. I have turned it to a chart I find the 3 rows on x-axis. My question is it possible to show the sum/ calculated row also as an element on the charts x-axis.
Example
Col1----
> Col2
Gross Sales----
> 4
Discount----
> 1
Return----
> 1
Sum (Net Sales)----> 2 (4-1-1)
When I turn this table to a chart I get the 3 rows (gross sales, disc, ret) on the x-axis. Is it possible to get the 4th calculated row on the x-axis of the chart .?

One trick that has worked well for me in the past is to create a union query with a dummy value for the Total. So you get this:
select Y, sum(Z) from tables
union
select 'Total', sum(z) from tables
This creates data in four rows, rather that treating your total as a sum it becomes part of the data. Then you can chart it.

Web report - apply specific formula on result rows

dear all,
I would like to apply a specific formula for a result row in a web report.
formula like this (a1b1 + a2b2 + ...)/(a1+a2)
With excel report I know that a vba excel can do this job.
I suppose that with web report a javascript should be helpful to solve this issue.
Is there anybody who could propose me a solution to solve this issue, or a source code example of javascript to do this ?!

One possibility is that you are doing some calculation with the user parameter that occurs in the before parameter form trigger.
When running in the normal client-server Reports runtime environment, the report triggers are executed in this order:
1. before parameter form trigger executes
2. parameter form is displayed)
3. after parameter form trigger executes
4. data model is validated and queries prepared)
5. before report trigger executes
6. report is formatted)
7. after report trigger executes
When running on the web, the display of the parameter form and the execution of the report occur in two separate sessions as Reports is "stateless". So, it goes like this when you request the report via a URL:
1. before parameter form trigger executes
2. before parameter form is displayed)
At this point, the user enters in parameters into the web page, and submits the request. As far as Reports is concerned, this is a new report request with parameters fully specified and no parameter form. So, it now does this as a new report request:
1. after parameter form trigger executes
2. data model is validated and queries prepared)
3. before report trigger executes
4. report is formatted)
5. after report trigger executes
So, if you have logic that sets up default values in the before parameter form trigger, it won't get executed on the web. If so, you should move this logic to the after parameter form trigger.

Drilldown on structure with hierarchy display shows additional result rows

Hi all,
difficult problem to explain, but I'll try:
- a structure for the rows axis
- the structure contains hierarchical elements
- each leaf node in the structure is defined as a characteristic C, restricted to certain values from a hierarchy
- additionally characteristic C is on the rows axis below the hierarchy (for detailed drilldown)
- for the row axis, "display as hierarchy" is selected (initial drilldown until structure only)
- on the columns some key figures
- zero suppression set to active for rows
So in Query Designer it looks like this:
1) Structure S
---> Subnode S1
> Element 1 (Characteristic C restricted to value V1 and V2 from hierarchy H)
---> Subnode S2
> Element 2 (Characteristic C restricted to value V3 and V4 from hierarchy H)
2) Characteristic C
Now what happens at runtime:
1. The user opens Subnode S1 and sees 1 row with cumulated values for V1 and V2
2. The user drills down further to Characteristic C
3. He sees 2 result rows below "Element 1": row 1 with value V1, row 2 with value V2
All fine.
4. Now the user opens subnode S2 and drills down to Characteristic C.
5. => The user gets 4 result rows for "Element 2":
    - one row with value V3 (as expected)
    - one row with value V4 (as expected)
    - one row with V1 and empty values (empty values OK, but complete row not expected!)
    - one row with V2 and empty values (empty values OK, but complete row not expected!)
So, apparently the OLAP processor has some issues when mixing structures with restricted elements, hierarchies and drill downs
