Web client and security

Can anyone help me with this problem? I'm using ni lookout V5.1 developer and getting this error every time when i try to access web client application. I've already followed instructions from knowledge base and added this site to trusted and also reset security to low but the same problem?!? In version 6.1 I’m not getting this error but for this version I don’t have developer license.

On this photo you can see that certificate exist. I've tried to export certificate from my server computer and import it to client but it didn't help to fix problem.
Os version is Windows XP service pack 2
IE version is 6.0 service pack 2
Any other suggestions?

we have configured Method Schema for Product accessories and maintain the accessories in product master.
I am facing an issue where in i cant see the accessories in IC Web Client and webshop.

I'm answering this only because I just ran into this yesterday.
Apparently, the Accessories you add to the Product Master have to be added to the item in the Product Catalog.
In the Item view of the catalog, click on the Edit List of Accessories button. The accessories that you added to the Product Master show up on the right side of the window. Select the accessories you want to show on the Webshop (and I assume IC Web Client) and click the move (left arrow) button. Save, replicate, etc...
Now, if someone knows how to avoid this step, please share it, as I find it annoying that while I can get the accessories to the Product Master easy enough, I can't get them to the Webshop without an extra step FOR EACH ITEM in the catalog(s).

Web client and desktop client not available for Interactive reporting 11.1.2.2

Hi team,
Currnetly we are usning EPM 11.1.2.2 , we are trying to install and configure
Interactive reporting in Linux 64 bit system.
we are few questions jotted below:
Interactive reporting studio client & Interactive reporting Dashboard Development Studio client are disabled.
post installation we are not able to see IR Client folder in <EPM HOME> location.
while launching workspace we are not able to see the WEB Client Interactive reporting under TOOLS-->INSTALL.
we read in a blog, which states it Interactive reporting needs a license. whether it needs any special License for using it?
we downloaded the Entire Dump of EPMS 11.1.2.2 from Oracle Edelivery website.
Kindly let us know we are missing any where?
we are strucked at this point.

If you want the 11.1.2.0 assemblies you will need to contact Oracle as they have been removed from edelivery.

Other web browsers and security issues?

Since even an Apple KB article recognizes the need for an additional browser and because of Safari's limitations and problems, I'm going to try switching to another browser (most likely OmniWeb and am looking at Firefox, Shira and Opera also though perhaps not as a primary browser) but I'm wondering about their ability to keep on top of any security issues for Mac? (and how do you keep up with security updates?)
Though perhaps unfounded, at least with Safari, I feel that Apple has a vested interest in keeping on top of security issues (for Safari and Java) and I can readily find out about security updates via software updater.

Most of the other Mac browsers have their adherents. They are all good browsers (I have 7 browsers installed to test various web sites and for change-of-pace usage). They all have their strengths and they all have their weaknesses. Only iCab and OmniWeb are still shareware, the rest are now or always have been free (Opera just recently stopped charging for its browser).
I have settled on Firefox as my alternate browser and I use it maybe just a tad more than Safari, but I do switch back and forth between them. The Mozilla foundation is good at getting security updates out when needed. Firefox has a button on the toolbar to check for updates. One nice thing about Firefox is that you can install free extensions which enhance the features available. I have one to supplement tab features, one to control iTunes from Firefox's status bar, one to help me format messages in discussion forums, and one to block ads.
I prefer OmniWeb for doing intensive research because of the way it handles tabs in its sidebar, showing me which ones I've looked at and which ones I haven't, and giving me great flexibility in rearranging tabs, which are viewable as thumbnails or text names (I have had up to a hundred or so tabs open in OmniWeb.
Shiira is good and its fast. I have not checked for updates for a while, but the last time I updated there was still a problem with Shiira kicking you out of logged-in sites when you moved from page to page with in web site. This may have been fixed by now - they were aware of the problem back then.
Camino is a native OS X cousin of Firefox and is also fast, but is not updated as often.
I would stay away from Mozilla or Netscape unless you need all the additional modules they have and which take up hard disk space. Firefox and Camino represent the browser module of Mozilla/Netscape. Mozilla and Netscape have modules for email, irc chat, newsgroups, and for creating and editing web pages. Netscape is a branded and slightly customized version of Mozilla and is not updated as often.
Opera is a nice browser and some use it as their main browser, but I have not seen anything that really stands out for me, but that does not mean it is not worth a look.
I would stay away from abandonware Internet Explorer.
As for checking for updates, several of them, as with many Mac programs, now have a menu item that allows you to check for updates. Most of them also announce their updates on both VersionTracker and MacUpdate.

WEB , CLients , and tracing issue all in one

this is the problem i'm facing:
i'm running a web application that uses helper classes.
one of these helper classes doesn't have access to any web data , and i cant pass it any parameters what so ever (let's call it class CL).
i need to get some unique information that will allow me to know which client request got me there (for example - say 3 different clients got into the system a ,b and c and these three different clients uses this class CL , how can i know , at runtime , which client is running CL object now? does java has any knoledge of that? maybe throught tracing?
is there a unique id for each client thread? can i get it in CL at runtime?
please help.

In a good design a class should not depend on who is calling its methods. It should only depend on its internal state other clases that are known to the class and the parameters passed to the class's methods

Does every web client and/or app use 'significant energy?'

Brand new MacBook Pro (non-retina,) with upgraded 2.9 ghz Intel i7, and maxed 16GB 1600 DDR3 RAM.
So far, I've attempted to use Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Upon using it for more than a few minutes, or having multiple tabs open, it shows under "Apps Using Significant Energy," with the battery icon. If used constantly, I could probably squeeze 3-4 hours of battery life before charging the laptop, which seems quite low for a newer machine. Certainly, it's no MacBook Air, but shouldn't it see a bit more juice than that? Only occasional videos, no constant YouTube or streaming services. Mostly searches, jobs, etc. I've also noticed that my installed Adobe CC programs take a loooong time to startup, but didn't know if that issue is common, or if anything can be done.
So:
** are all the web applications juice hogs? I kinda like Firefox the most, and Chrome has some neat customization features, but they all end up like little piggies in a sloth.
** could it be the MBP? Would resetting anything possibly positively affect the speed, battery longevity, programs on startup, etc?
I'm decent at tinkering if I know the proper steps to ensure I'm doing everything just right. Also, I have AppleCare on the expensive machine, so worst case, I can bring to an authorized store- but I don't want to waste their time if this is just nothing. I've searched the discussions forums for previous advice, and nothing really, precisely answered the issue.

The point is you are bound to do VB.Net for web services and it is not VB at all.
The syntax surely resembles VB but wait till you see what you have instead of good old PRINT!
VB.Net is not a continuation of VB, it is something radically different that you will have to learn. And if I had to choose between learning VB.Net and Java/Swing, I would go for the latter. I think the third choice, C#, is definitely the winner on all aspects of programming on the Windows platform. The GUI building gap is not as wide as it was with Visual C++ and VB, in fact, it is almost non-existant: .Net's Windows-forms can be developed rapidly either with C# or VB.Net; basically you get the same tool to develop GUIs.

Rich Client and Security

i'm a litte bit confused about security in JEE5. I've searched now for a long time in the web and found nothing which helped me a lot. First I explain what I want to do:
I'm writing a client/server application. The server part is done with session beans and the client is an rich swing gui. I need several things.
- I want to manage the users,groups,roles within my swing gui instead
of creating them through the application servers admin console.
- Within the swing gui I need to know to which role the user is
mapped,so that i'm able i.e. to disable buttons, panels ... which offer
functions that are not allowed to the user
In the past i've done authentication and authorization on my own in a very unflexible way. JEE security sounds nice, but I don't know how to achieve the above mentioned features.
I would be very pleased if somebody could help me.

When giving him permissions to users on a table I want that the user can manipulate only certain columns and that the others are restricted for him. If it is connected by application, SQL, ODBC, etc. That it always has activates the restrictions on the data of those columns.

NB : I succeeded calling a web service via Standalone Proxy. But I want to securize the call to the web service.
I noticed that I cannot use SSL with Standalone Proxy.

Yes, you cannot use SSL with standalone proxy.
you can use document security for deployable proxy as i suggested you before in you earlier posts.
Follow these steps:
1. Specify document security as authentication mechanism in web service configuration file.
2. In security tab in this file, choose username+encryption for request and none for response.
2. deploy your web service.
3. Create deployable proxy for this web service.
4. ensure security options for this proxy is also set to document authentication.
5. Deploy this proxy on the server.
6. Go to visual administrator and there check whether XMLEncryption certificate is available under WebserviceSecurity view. If not then create private and public key with name XMLEncryption and XMLEncryption-cert respectively.
7. Assign this certificate to your webservice and proxy in the services, "Web services seurity".
8. write code in Standalone java class to call your pproxy.

hi, i've successfully programmed a labview webservice and its all working fine, but im using a computer with public IP, and i can access to this webservice just typing the adress like in the webservices examples. my question is how can i create an authentication in a way that only the person with credentials can access his service? There are an easy way to have variables connected directtly connected to vi to verify the users before using the service?

Web Forms and Security

I am trying to automate the web form create filter task (in Hyperion planning). As I understand it there is no command line tool like Essbase does with Import.cmd command to load security filters. It is to taxing on the system to go to create a filter and click on the 100 user’s checkboxes at one time. Yes, I know I can group the users to make things easier, but having individual users and groups is the way they do business in this case.
I have done a few webpages in the past, and I was wondering if I could just read the source of the create filter form and get the ID’s of the users and submit it to the /serverlet/HSPxxxxx through an automated script. But, then I wondered how force the security of the submitting user to the serverlet to a known admin username and password.
Please help.

Let me clarify what happened.
v. 9.3.1
1) I added two groups to write access to a dimension from the Hyperion Planning Web Front End (Workspace).
2) From the web front end went ahead and refreshed the security filters to reflect the changes into Essbase.
I can only do step 2 five users at a time to avoid the server to crash. Is there any way to automate the refresh of the security filters in Essbase.
I have been told you want to use the Planning Web Front end and to push those changes to the Essbase Cube.
Please advise.

Gmail and native client and security

Hello everyone
Gmail has an option on the web for secure https login. I worry about push login over public transport wifi. Is this secure? I am not sure what ssl is and whether it encrypts each email as well as log in information.,

SSL is what is used by Microsoft Outlook to grab emails over a secure port. Your information will be just as secure if you're using SSL on your PlayBook as if you were using it on Outlook.

CRM 2013 - Inconsistent javascript issue crash the web client and user needs to reopen

We are using CRM 2013 on premise version and almost 600 users are using it. We have some inconsistent JavaScript issue (following is the log for same) which happens to users in a day or two. When this issue occurs user can not work in system and they have
to open new instance of CRM.

There is a mention of loading an iFrame in the error, do you have iFrames on the form that generates this error?
It's not on specific forms, so can't identify that. Yes we have iframes on some forms.
Does it happen on any/all entity forms, or specific ones? Do the entity forms have any custom JavaScript on them?
It's not on specific forms. And yes we have javascript on almost all forms.
Do you have any network problems or slowness in your network? Does the problem happen when the network is busy?
We need to check this on next occurrence.
Do the users that see this error have any unusual add-ins or toolbars in their browser?  This is not for specific user. Its happening for all randomly.
Have you tried other browsers like Chrome or FireFox and do users see the problem there as well?
We need to check only for IE.

Web.xml and security constraints

Hi,
I have several web services deployed. I only want to protect one of these web services.
If I use "/services/*" in <security-constraint> of my web.xml file, all my deployed web services are protected.
If I use "/services/aaaWebService" in <security-constraint> of my web.xml file, aaaWebService web service is NOT protected.
Please let me know what I should use for teh <url-pattern> to protect only aaaWebService.

I think whithout an asterisk service parameters don't match your pattern.
