Web Clipping and a name tags

Hi!
I'm trying to use the webclipping portlet on some static html-pages, and it seems to work just greate, except one thing. The pages uses a lot of anchor-tag that refer to chaper down in the same html-file. You have kind of a chapter-listing in the top, with links like this:
a href="#chapter10"
And then further down the document there's
a name="chapter10"
When pressing the first link the page is refreshed, but the browser doesn't "scroll down" to the a name="chapter10" tag.
Is there a way to solve this issue?

I'm new to Oracle, so I'm not too sure either. But I doubt webclipping can "scroll" down a page since it's supposed to "clip out" and display the part of the page you selected right?
Alternatives you can try might be to use the URL type in the Providers, or to select the "Inline" property if you must use webclipping. Not sure if they will work though.
Cheers.

  • Problem with Web Clipping and External Application

    When I use Web clipping with INLINE rendering on usual sites I can move under links, not leaving a portal.
    But if I try to make it via the self-made provider with External Application then links do not work.
    I press them and it appear in the same place!
    Authorization via External Application passes successfully, that is the page is displayed correctly.
    But links do not work.
    In what there can be a problem?

    In order to prevent some urls and internal websites from being cached use url bypassing. This way these urls will not be cached and the users can directly use them without being asked to log in.
    To enable transparent error handling and dynamic authentication bypass, and to configure static bypass lists, use the bypass global configuration command. To disable the bypass feature, use the no form of the command.

  • Changing Clip and File Names While Maintaining Link to P2

    I know that if I open P2 files in the Log and Transfer window I can (re)name clips before transferring them to QuickTimes and still maintain a link to the original P2 files in case something goes offline. Two questions:
    1. If I transfer without changing the name, then change the name of the clip and its related QT from within a bin will it still maintain its link to the original P2 files?
    2. If so, will it maintain a link to copies of the same P2 files on another drive (I'm transferring and organizing at home using a backup of the P2's)? Would links be maintained if I did the name change in the Log and Transfer window?
    OK, that was three questions. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.

    Well...the best way to figure this out is to test. I didn't know, so I did a test. Imported a clip called 0003JK.mov. Changed it at MY CAR (because it was a shot of my car)...used FCP to change the name of the file on my drive to match the clip. Then I deleted it. Then I used the BATCH CAPTURE function...and YES, it imported that clip fine.
    SO...for #2...test it and see. But, if you mean that you are importing clips on one machine, NOT changing the names...and then on your machine importing and changing the names....will it relink to the files imported on the OTHER machine? I doubt it...but I can't be sure. So test it. The only way to know is to test it.
    But if you change the name in the Log and Transfer window, or later, yes, they relink.

  • Web clips and cacti

    I'm using web clips to monitor a few cacti graphs, but every once in a while, a web clip will will lose the image it's tracking and and just show the upper left corner of the page (this area has an image, but I think that's coincidental because the web clip is wider than the image).
    Is there anyway to edit what a web clip is showing, or do I just need to delete the webclip and recreate it? I currently have 7 running, and two have shown this problem.
    Failing that, is there a way, given a running web clip (or it's prefs file), to get the dimensions it uses, and then recreate the clip from the command line?
    I took a look at what I think is the pref's for web clips (~/Library/Preferences/widget-com.apple.widget.web-clip.plist), and there are a number of xml plist elements in the file but they seem to be just a copy of my cookies. It also has a large binary header, which I'm not sure how to interpret. I did find what looks like dimension list/url pairs farther down, but they're wrapped in binary segments, not xml, so editing them may go badly. I'll try stopping the dashboard, editing those, and restarting it.
    The other odd thing is that there are only four of the seven urls I'm tracking in that plist file. The two that have shrunk aren't listed, and neither is another one that is still running correctly.
    To add to the fun, some urls seem to be missing their dimensions, and others seem to have extra. I suppose this implies the dimensions are indexed off something in the header, and their proximity to a given url in the file means nothing. Joy.
    I believe this is an example of a dimension list: {{365, 443}, {620, 263}}
    However, I also ran into this: {{259, 108}, {620, 235}}[{1164, 751}
    Not sure what the extra pair represents.

    Hi MC Ready,
    Just thought perhaps you're knowledgeable enough to answer this question for me (it has to do with web clip widgets made in Safari):
    I have a radio station web page, which features an area to hear live broadcast through WM (Flip4Mac on my machine). Instead of having a Safari window permanently open to that site just for listening to the radio, I thought I'd make a web clip widget, which worked just fine for more than a couple of hours. Then the feed stopped, and I thought I would launch a new instance of the web clip widget, so that I might listen again.
    Alas, I can't find my widget in my widgets list at the bottom of the Dashboard screen, and I had a look at:
    ~/Library/Widgets, as well as
    /Library/Widgets
    Nowhere did I find my web clip widget. Any ideas as to where I might locate it?
    Bonus question: where does the web clip widget store its streamed data? If I click on the down arrow within the widget, I can use QuickTime to save the stream downloaded so far as Source or QuickTime, but I can't find this cached stream file in my hard disk.
    Many thanks.

  • Bug: "WEB-INF", "web-inf" and package names

    I'm using JSPs with Struts, and as recommended in the Struts Toystore Example all of my JSPs are below the WEB-INF directory. If I compile my JSPs I get the following warnings (hundreds of them):
    Warning: package name web2d_inf._jsp._gui._documents._document does not match source file name W:\root\output\Gui\View\classes\.jsps\_WEB_2d_INF\_jsp\_gui\_documents\_document\_Preview.java
    How can I get rid of this warnings, without disabling warnings completely? I'm using JDeveloper 9.0.3.2
    Thanks

    Hello;
    It looks like this bug may pop back up?
    I am using 10g Pre on LINUX and get the error:
    Project:/home/a/jdevhome/mywork/ir2/ViewController/ViewController.jpr
    /home/a/jdevhome/mywork/ir2/ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/untitled1.jsp
    Error:/home/a/jdevhome/mywork/ir2/ViewController/public_html/web-inf/untitled1.jsp (No such file or directory)
    It looks like web-inf is getting set to lower case somewhere.
    I know Linux is not the release for the 10g pre, this is just in case the bug is going to 'pop' up again in the final version

  • Basic questions about PL/SQL web services and datasource names

    Hi there,
    I successfully generated a web service for a PL/SQL packaged procedure in JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0).
    In the web service base class the following code was generated:
    __dataSource = (javax.sql.DataSource) __initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/dbconnectionDS");However in the weblogic server the datasource name is jdbc/somethingelse so the deployment fails at first.
    What is the recommended procedure to solve this issue? The obvious solution is to manually edit the source -- that is what I did and it worked fine. However if I re-generate the web service I will lose my change. Is there a better way to do this?
    Another question -- in the generated web.xml file, there is a resource-ref for the datasource. I was hoping that changing the datasource name there would help but it didn't work. What is it used for in this context?
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Vishal,
    I did as you suggested but it didn't work... see below more details.
    Thanks
    Luis
    1 - I re-generated the web service from the PL/SQL package. The constructor in CFBTestWSBase class looks likes this:
    public CFBTestWSBase() throws SQLException
      {  try {
    javax.naming.InitialContext __initCtx = new javax.naming.InitialContext();
    __dataSource = (javax.sql.DataSource) __initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/custfeedbackDS");
    } catch (Exception __jndie) {
    throw new java.sql.SQLException("Error looking up <java:comp/env/jdbc/custfeedbackDS>: " + __jndie.getMessage());
    }2 - I added the following section to weblogic.xml:
      <resource-description>
        <res-ref-name>comp/env/jdbc/custfeedbackDS</res-ref-name>
        <jndi-name>jdbc/DataSource</jndi-name>
      </resource-description>3 - I got the following error when during deployment to weblogic server:
    [HTTP:101216]Servlet: "CFBTestWSPort" failed to preload on startup in Web application: "CustFeedbackTestWS.war".
    java.sql.SQLException: Error looking up <java:comp/env/jdbc/custfeedbackDS>: While trying to look up comp/env/jdbc/custfeedbackDS in /app/webapp/CustFeedbackTestWS.war/346617503.

  • Web clips displaying incorrectly or not loading

    I have two Web clips: one of some weather from Weather.com, and one that shows the daily image from APhotoADay.org. However, neither of them works properly. The weather Web clip simply does not attempt to load, while the photo Web clip loads but displays the photo incorrectly. Here's a cap to illustrate what I mean:
    Above is the weather Web clip, and below is the photo.
    Earlier today it looked less contrasty, like this:
    And here's the original image as it should appear:
    If I go create the Web clips again, they work temporarily before reverting to this state. The photo one also sometimes fails to load at all, though it usually does.
    This problem is new in the last few days and appears to be unrelated to software updates, since my Web clips worked normally for a few weeks after the OS update and I haven't updated anything else since then that I know of.
    Any idea what's going on or what I can do about it?

  • Determining service name and operation name in handler

    Hello.
    Is there a way to determine the name of the web service and the name of operation being invoked from inside the JAX-RPC handler class?
    By the name of the web service I mean the name that was used in its deployment descriptor file.
    With axis, I was able to determine service name using 'MessageContext.getTargetService()' and 'MessageContext.getOperation()' .
    are there similar ones in weblogic?

    Using Weblogic v8.1 I was also able to get the port and operation via DefaultMessageContext. However, this no longer works on WebLogic v9.0.
    Any idea how to do this in v9? I think I have the Operation Name by using another undocumented API:
    weblogic.wsee.ws.server.OperationName (it's a property in the MessageContext). There's also an EndpointReference class that has 'portName' and 'serviceName' but for my server these are always null??
    Any ideas?

  • Sound not working on Youtube video embedded in webpage used in web clip.

    I created a web clip and installed it using ipcu. On the web page I've created that I'm using for the web clip, there is an embedded Youtube video. The sound for the video is not working. Why is the sound not working? It works in safari if go to Youtube.

    My computer also recently downloaded soundflower? I didn't approve of this change
    I'm not sure what that means, but if Soundflower really is installed, uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Back up all data before making any changes. Reboot and test.

  • WEB CLIP SECURITY THREAT???

    My Dashboard was not active, wherein I have 3 web clips stored. Suddenly my system started to hang, and I force restarted the Dock. When I did I regained control of the system. And I checked the console and found the following disturbing message. Is this a security threat with web clips and how could it activate without my opening the Dashboard?
    Jul 25 12:43:47 G5 [0x0-0xcc0cc].com.apple.dock[0]: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2004&Mileage=13200&Veh icleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=15&ModelId=111&PriceType=Trade-In&VehicleId=254 7&SelectionHistory=2547%7c25436%7c16001%7c0%7c0%7c100169%7ctrue%7c100187%7ctrue% 7c100215%7ctrue%7c100243%7ctrue%7c100292%7ctrue%7c100425%7ctrue%7c100418%7ctrue& Condition=Excellent&QuizConditions= from frame with URL http://usedcars.kbb.com/inc/cookiesync.jsp?ATCID=undefined&DK=kbb.com. Also, how in the heck do you delete web clips from the dashboard. Nothing seems to work except turning OFF webclips entirely.
    Thanks
    Jeff

    I say NO!
    I say that is Kelly Blue Book's website you are attempting to clip, that site has problems on a good day and rarely works
    at all with Safari. Try it with Firefox 3.1 and I bet it works just fine.
    Could be your version of Safari/Javascript, but it usually bombs when it pops up with your zip code. Delete the clip
    in Manage widgets and it should be fine.
    The latest downloadable version of Safari from Apple's download is 3.1.2, when you download that update it it says
    Safari311UpdLeo.dmg when it SHOULD be Safari312UpdLeo.dmg, but it doesn't matter I cannot get it to update my
    Safari Version 3.0.4 (5523.15) (just did it 5 minutes ago).
    I'm finding I use FireFox 3.1 more and more since every time I pick up Safari it doesn't display a site or is completely
    broken. If you only have one browser installed, well, you are missing a whole lot of what you visit.

  • Dashboard Web Clip Changes

    Hello, I have a web clip of tv listings from the provider. It updates when I open dashboard, but moves to different parts of the webpage. I am not sure why, it could and probably is that the webpage changes its layout when it refreshes the listings. But if it is something that I can do to the dashboard, I would like to know any known fixes. Thanks

    I started getting this problem, too. Then, when I deleted the old web clip and tried to make a new one, I noticed the web clip function wouldn't work anymore. I could select the area on the webpage and size it, but when I clicked "add" and Exposé opened up, my web clip would not appear.

  • Safari Web Clips Don't Bloody Work!

    *Safari Web Clips Don’t Bloody Work!*
    The problem: I was able to capture a web clip, dashboard would open and it seemed fine, but when I came out of Dashboard and closed Safari, they web clips would disappear.
    I attempted to access them by clicking Dashboard>Web Clips and this would bring up a window which says ‘Web Clip was made using Safari’s ‘Open in Dashboard Feature’, open Safari”.
    The above is written in the past tense because the situation has deteriorated since.
    *Fix Attempt:*
    Moved /Library/Widgets/Web Clips.wdgt to trash.
    Restored /Trash/Web Clips to /Library/Widgets/Web Clips.wdgt.
    *Now Safari won’t even capture any clips at all!*
    I can select a clip, but when I click 'Add', nothing, nada.

    If you're using a custom style sheet in Safari (Safari>Preferences>Advanced), web clips may not work. You may not realize you're using a custom style sheet, but if you've used an application like Safari Enhancer in the past, then yes, you are using a custom style sheet.

  • Web App name tag capabilities and Upload response handling

    Hi Guys,
    Let me begin by apologising for how long-winded this is going to be.
    I have set my products up in the ecommerce module utilising catalogues etc - I have removed the buy now and cart options, so the ecommerce module is operating essentially like a showroom.  What I want to do now is link the individual large products to a web app because my product range requires personalization and the customers need to give me information and assetts to get their finished product back - the key for me is getting reports from the system, the web apps are just a portal to those reports.  So the workflow would see them submit their text and assetts to be used in the final product and pay via the web app.  With the web app that takes payment and allows them to submit their personalization stuff I was going to make one per product, so if product a) requires them to submit one block of text and 2 photos, the web app would have corresponding fields.  Then I got thinking about using content holders, the one web app for all products that need one block of text and 2 photos, if I could get the name tag to populate with the product page that sends to it, or the page name the web app form is inserted on, because this will correspond to the large product.  This way when I do the reporting instead of having to report from heaps of web apps, I could just filter the reports by the product name.  It would mean I would only need a handful of web apps vs needing quite a lot, but if it is beyond me I am happy that I have a solution, even if it is a bloated one.
    The other part of this involves me needing to capture the uploaded file name in the web app form fields so I can report from them.  I have been looking around and came across the below code.  My web app will require 1-12 uploaded file names to be captured in 1-12 form fields i.e. img_1 - img_12 - I am not a coder but I wondered whether this had potential for what I need.  It comes from here http://www.openjs.com/articles/ajax/ajax_file_upload/response_data.php
    Thanks in advance for taking the time to digest all of this.
    Mandy
    A Sample Application
    For example, say you are building a photo gallery. When a user uploads an image(using the above mentioned ajax method), you want to get its name and file size from the server side. First, lets create the Javascript uploading script(for explanation on this part, see the Ajax File Upload article)...
    The Code
    <script type="text/javascript"> function init() { document.getElementById("file_upload_form").onsubmit=function() { document.getElementById("file_upload_form").target = "upload_target"; } } </script>  <form id="file_upload_form" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="upload.php"> <input name="file" id="file" size="27" type="file" /><br /> <input type="submit" name="action" value="Upload Image" /><br /> <iframe id="upload_target" name="upload_target" src="" style="width:100px;height:100px;border:1px solid #ccc;"></iframe> </form> <div id="image_details"></div>
    And the server side(PHP in this case) script will look something like this...
    <?php list($name,$result) = upload('file','image_uploads','jpg,jpeg,gif,png'); if($name) { // Upload Successful $details = stat("image_uploads/$name"); $size = $details['size'] / 1024; print json_encode(array( "success"     =>     $result, "failure"     =>     false, "file_name"     =>     $name,     // Name of the file - JS should get this value "size"          =>     $size     // Size of the file - JS should get this as well. )); } else { // Upload failed for some reason. print json_encode(array( "success"     =>     false, "failure"     =>     $result, )); }
    Here we are printing the data that should be given to JS directly into the iframe. Javascript can access this data by accessing the iframe's DOM. Lets add that part to the JS code...
    function init() { document.getElementById("file_upload_form").onsubmit=function() { document.getElementById("file_upload_form").target = "upload_target"; document.getElementById("upload_target").onload = uploadDone; //This function should be called when the iframe has compleated loading // That will happen when the file is completely uploaded and the server has returned the data we need. } }  function uploadDone() { //Function will be called when iframe is loaded var ret = frames['upload_target'].document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].innerHTML; var data = eval("("+ret+")"); //Parse JSON // Read the below explanations before passing judgment on me  if(data.success) { //This part happens when the image gets uploaded. document.getElementById("image_details").innerHTML = "<img src='image_uploads/" + data.file_name + "' /><br />Size: " + data.size + " KB"; } else if(data.failure) { //Upload failed - show user the reason. alert("Upload Failed: " + data.failure); } }
    Explanation
    Lets see whats happening here - a play by play commentary...
    document.getElementById("upload_target").onload = uploadDone;
    Set an event handler that will be called when the iframe has compleated loading. That will happen when the file is completely uploaded and the server has returned the data we need. Now lets see the function uploadDone().
    var ret = frames['upload_target'].document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].innerHTML; var data = eval("("+ret+")");
    These two lines are an eyesore. No - it goes beyond 'eyesore' - this is an abomination. If these lines causes you to gouge out your eyes and run for the hills, I can understand completely. I had to wash my hands after writing those lines. Twice.
    var ret = frames['upload_target'].document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0].innerHTML;
    This will get the data the server side script put in the iframe. This line cannot be avoided as far as I know. You can write it in different ways - but in the end, you will have to take the innerHTML or the nodeValue or something of the body element of the iframe. I used the smallest code in the sample. Even if you specify the Content type of the iframe page as text/plain, the browser will 'domify' it.
    One other thing - in frames['upload_target'] the 'upload_target' is the name of the iframe - not the ID. Its a gotcha you need to be aware of.
    var data = eval("("+ret+")");
    Thankfully, this line can be avoided - you can use some other format(in this particular case the best format might be plain HTML) so that you don't have to parse a string that comes out of innerHTML. Or you can use CSV. Or plain text. Or JSON as we are doing right now - just parse it without using eval(). Reason I choose it? Smallest code - and easier to understand.
    Now we have a working system. The files are uploaded and data reaches the client side. Everything works perfectly. Oh, how I wish I could say that. But nooo - the nightmare of every javascript developer rears its ugly head again...
    Internet Explorer
    Internet Explorer, also known as IE, also known as the Beast, again manages to mess things up. They don't support the onload event for iframe. So the code...
    document.getElementById("upload_target").onload = uploadDone;
    will not work. WILL. NOT. WORK. Thanks IE, thanks very much.
    So, what do we do? We use a small hack. We put a script tag inside the iframe with a onload event that calls the uploadDone() of the top frame. So now the server side script looks like this...
    <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function init() { if(top.uploadDone) top.uploadDone(); //top means parent frame. } window.onload=init; </script> <body> <?php list($name,$result) = upload('file','image_uploads','jpg,jpeg,gif,png'); if($name) { // Upload Successful // Put the PHP content from the last code sample here here } ?> </body> </html>
    Okay - now we have a IE-proof working system. Upload an image using the below demo application to see it in action.
    If you have a better way of doing this, please, PLEASE let me know. I feel dirty doing it this way.
    See it in Action

    You also need to consider when someone removes a product and what happens in terms of the things uploaded.
    Not saying your way wont work but I have the structure for this basically very similar on sites already that covers all the basis of real world use and works well.
    Mine is future proof anyway. BC will never ( I have it in writing) replace the code because it will break implementations and sites directly. jquery version is on the cards but the way that will be implemented or any change will either be with notice and on new sites not old or like many features an option in the admin to change it.

  • Partner application and web clipping.

    Hi All,
    I am trying to add an external application (say my.yahoo.com) to a webclipping and its throwing the below error in the application log.
    WC-517 : SSL handshake failed with the url ...
    I have checked the file ca-bundle.crt and the certificates are in place. Does anybody know how to go about debugging this problem as I am quite new to portals and at my wits end to solve it.
    Also I would be greatful if anybody can suggest me the steps on adding an Apex application configured as partner application with SSO authentication to a web clipping.There seems to be little or no-documentation at all in this regard(as far as my search goes).
    Thanks in advance
    -Venkat

    I finally got it working by VERY CAREFULLY reading the instructions in the install.txt document in the SSO SDK package. You have to set up the partner application with a new schema in the login server database, and run the regapp.sql script AFTER editing it to insert data from the Login Server Partner Application admin screen. After you register the partner app in Portal, it gives you some info (site token, listener token, encryption key, etc). You have to MANUALLY copy these and paste them into the regapp.sql script, then run the script in the partner app schema. Make sure you don't confuse capital I with numeral 1 (like I did, since Oracle so nicely uses a non-serif font where you can not tell the difference).
    Also make sure you copy the exact values for these parameters into your code when you use the SSOEnabler class. The listener token was very confusing since different documents appear to disagree on whether it should include the partner app name or not. It does require the partner app name:
    app-name:hostname:port
    hostname and port are for the web server that is handling http requests for the login server (usually your main portal web server).
