Web Clipping - no install link displayed

I try to install/configure WebClipping portlet on a stand-alone OC4J instance. Duing the provider configuration stage I run into the problem that my database schema does not contain the proper objects ("The Provider is not configured correctly. It has been detected that the schema provided contains tables that conflict with the required tables. Please change the schema information by configuring it appropriately in the Provider Configuration section below.")
The target schema is PORTAL, in the 9.0.2 release.
The Install link that is promised in the configuration document ("Otherwise, an Install link displays next to the status of the Web Clipping Repository on the Test Page. You can click it to dynamically install the required schema tables into the user that you provided earlier. ") does not appear. I do not seem to have the option to install the database objects required for the WebClipping repository. What can I do - other than upgrading to 9.0.4?
Thanks,

  • Sound not working on Youtube video embedded in webpage used in web clip.

I created a web clip and installed it using ipcu. On the web page I've created that I'm using for the web clip, there is an embedded Youtube video. The sound for the video is not working. Why is the sound not working? It works in safari if go to Youtube.
    IOS version 6.1
    Model: MD511LL/A

My computer also recently downloaded soundflower? I didn't approve of this change
I'm not sure what that means, but if Soundflower really is installed, uninstall it according to the developer's instructions. Back up all data before making any changes. Reboot and test.

  • Web clips displaying incorrectly or not loading

I have two Web clips: one of some weather from Weather.com, and one that shows the daily image from APhotoADay.org. However, neither of them works properly. The weather Web clip simply does not attempt to load, while the photo Web clip loads but displays the photo incorrectly. Here's a cap to illustrate what I mean:
Above is the weather Web clip, and below is the photo.
Earlier today it looked less contrasty, like this:
And here's the original image as it should appear:
If I go create the Web clips again, they work temporarily before reverting to this state. The photo one also sometimes fails to load at all, though it usually does.
This problem is new in the last few days and appears to be unrelated to software updates, since my Web clips worked normally for a few weeks after the OS update and I haven't updated anything else since then that I know of.
Any idea what's going on or what I can do about it?

  • Web clip widget displays incorrectly.

The "Vintage Corners" theme of my web clip widget is displaying wrong. Everything was working fine before my Snow Leopard install this morning, so that was definitely the problem.
Basically, the "slices" of the frame are showing, and the edges don't seem to match up right, either. Random edges of the frame have a 1 or 2 pixel border on the inside of the frame, and it definitely shouldn't look like that. So if you can imagine the frame was a broken piece of ceramic, and you laid the bits back together, but you could still see the seams - that's what it looks like. There are 7 slice lines showing in all, and the bottom right corner looks the worst of all the corners.
I'm new to Mac, so I'm unsure about some things. Can I repair this widget somehow, by re-downloading it somewhere, or by using my install disc? I only have an upgrade install disc - would that be sufficient to repair this?
Thanks for any help in advance.

That didn't help, I've still got the same issue. :\
    Thanks for the suggestion, though.
I made some screenshots of the same widget using the messed up theme (on top) and another theme that works just fine on bottom. This is the same widget in each screenshot, not two instances of the same webclip.

This is also not the original clip I had trouble with, though both clips were image files, if that would matter at all.

  • Question about setting a web clip in Apple Configurator, to by-pass touching Free and Install App.

    Hello.
I'm using Apple Configurator, and have a web clip linked to iTunes Preview webpage for an app.
On the iTunes Preview page, you can touch Free, then Install App.
Am I able to by-pass touching Free and Install App?
That way, the end user touches the icon, and it directs them to Sign In using Existing or Create ID.
    I hope this makes sense.
    Thank you,
    Jeremy

    Hi,
You can only enter one code per iTunes account for the same app. So if you were not to use Configurator, you would enter one code into iTunes and sync the all the iPads to that iTunes account manually keeping track of your codes for any audit purposes. You could create a backup and restore to each of the iPads. I use encrypted backup. I have only used Configurator at this time to update iOS, it works very well for that and cuts down on update time greatly. I am leery of configurator with VPP because of all of the issues posted. I would have used VPP/Configurator exactly as you had stated.
I thought from your post you were able to get all of your apps loaded except for the two that were greyed out. I was curious if you would be able to go into the App store on the one iPad that did not get the two apps because they were grayed out and sign in to the apple ID where those two apps resided ( the iTunes account you used for Configurator) and download them. I am not sure if once you associate an iTunes account to Configurator if that marks the paid apps in itunes so they can not be used. I think that it would not.
I would also call the Apple Store support for Education. They may be able to help and or they will know your area rep.
Good luck, Please post your outcome, I am sure there are many who would benefit.

  • Web clip widget out-of-range-of-display

    Hi.
I have created several Web Clip Widgets on my Dashboard. However, one of these widgets got positioned outside of the display, probably after I resized it and positioned it near the edge of the display. Whenever I launch my Dashboard, I would hear the video (the web clip is a YouTube video) being played back, meaning it is still on my Dashboard.
Is there a way for me to bring it back within my display, so that I could re-position it away from the edge of my screen? Or, is there another way for me to delete that widget? The widget doesn't show up even after I click on the "+" on the lower left corner of the Dashboard screen. All my other widgets show up with the "x" on each widget's upper left corner.
Thanks for any tips you can share with me!

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    Try deleting this file.
    com.apple.dashboard.plist
~/Library/Preferences. Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.

How do I remove "web clips" links to web pages from my Home screen? Holding until jiggle does not produce "X" for deletion contrary to the ipod touch manual

Figured oout that I had restricted deletions of programs.
Settings->General->Restrictions-> (enter your passcode), Turn Deleting Apps ON
Afterward holding an icon until it jiggles will produce the X delete button.
You might want to turn Delete apps OFF after cleaning up.

Either the login information is not correct (it explains it should not be domain\username but just username) or the authentication format from your Microsoft proxy server (Kerberos?) is not compatible with the Web Clipping portlet. You might get a better reply in the Portal forum about supported proxy authentication methods for the WebClipping portlet.

  • Problem with Web Clipping and External Application

When I use Web clipping with INLINE rendering on usual sites I can move under links, not leaving a portal.
But if I try to make it via the self-made provider with External Application then links do not work.
I press them and it appear in the same place!
Authorization via External Application passes successfully, that is the page is displayed correctly.
    But links do not work.
In what there can be a problem?
    Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2)

In order to prevent some urls and internal websites from being cached use url bypassing. This way these urls will not be cached and the users can directly use them without being asked to log in.
To enable transparent error handling and dynamic authentication bypass, and to configure static bypass lists, use the bypass global configuration command. To disable the bypass feature, use the no form of the command.

  • Error in developing web clipping portlets

    hi,
I am using Oracle Portal 9.0.4 and trying to make a web clipping portlet.I created a page group, Created a standard page in it, Then added a web clipping portlet into it.Then, i clicked the edit defaults button, and in the URL Location field, I gave the site i want to be published.
Then I clicked the start button, the page is displayed, but the links in the page are not working.
After that, I clicked the "section" button, but it is giving the error "This product requires use of a browser that supports JavaScript 1.2, and that you run with scripting enabled".(I am using IE 5.0.2920.0).
After that, I clciked the select button, and clicked ok.Now, The portlet is there in the page, but it has no body! I mean, we can see only the blue heading which displays its name and cutumization links.
If anybody got similar error, or know how to fix this one, please help..

    hi,
why dont you give a try with IE 6.0. also your PDK and IAS versions may be incompatible. check the versions of each. PDK(90262) should be deployed. if you can not solve the problem undeploy the old portalTools.ear file and deploy again. it seems weird but it is works (some files may not be loaded in the deployments, you can check them in the deployed OC4J_Instance)

    HI,
The most recent Software Update might help this unless you have already downloaded and installed it.
Go to the Apple Menu/Software Updates. If you don't have the Java for Mac OS 10.6 Update 1 installed the Software Update utility will download and install for you.
This update just became available yesterday.
You may also need to Trash and Dashboard preference file.
    com.apple.dashboard.plist
~/Library/Preferences. Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.

  • WEB CLIP SECURITY THREAT???

My Dashboard was not active, wherein I have 3 web clips stored. Suddenly my system started to hang, and I force restarted the Dock. When I did I regained control of the system. And I checked the console and found the following disturbing message. Is this a security threat with web clips and how could it activate without my opening the Dashboard?
Jul 25 12:43:47 G5 [0x0-0xcc0cc].com.apple.dock[0]: Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://www.kbb.com/KBB/UsedCars/PricingReport.aspx?YearId=2004&Mileage=13200&Veh icleClass=UsedCar&ManufacturerId=15&ModelId=111&PriceType=Trade-In&VehicleId=254 7&SelectionHistory=2547%7c25436%7c16001%7c0%7c0%7c100169%7ctrue%7c100187%7ctrue% 7c100215%7ctrue%7c100243%7ctrue%7c100292%7ctrue%7c100425%7ctrue%7c100418%7ctrue& Condition=Excellent&QuizConditions= from frame with URL http://usedcars.kbb.com/inc/cookiesync.jsp?ATCID=undefined&DK=kbb.com. Domains, protocols and ports must match.
Also, how in the heck do you delete web clips from the dashboard. Nothing seems to work except turning OFF webclips entirely.
    Thanks
    Jeff

    I say NO!
I say that is Kelly Blue Book's website you are attempting to clip, that site has problems on a good day and rarely works
at all with Safari. Try it with Firefox 3.1 and I bet it works just fine.
Could be your version of Safari/Javascript, but it usually bombs when it pops up with your zip code. Delete the clip
in Manage widgets and it should be fine.
The latest downloadable version of Safari from Apple's download is 3.1.2, when you download that update it it says
Safari311UpdLeo.dmg when it SHOULD be Safari312UpdLeo.dmg, but it doesn't matter I cannot get it to update my
Safari Version 3.0.4 (5523.15) (just did it 5 minutes ago).
I'm finding I use FireFox 3.1 more and more since every time I pick up Safari it doesn't display a site or is completely
broken. If you only have one browser installed, well, you are missing a whole lot of what you visit.

  • Partner application and web clipping.

    Hi All,
I am trying to add an external application (say my.yahoo.com) to a webclipping and its throwing the below error in the application log.
WC-517 : SSL handshake failed with the url ...
I have checked the file ca-bundle.crt and the certificates are in place. Does anybody know how to go about debugging this problem as I am quite new to portals and at my wits end to solve it.
Also I would be greatful if anybody can suggest me the steps on adding an Apex application configured as partner application with SSO authentication to a web clipping. There seems to be little or no-documentation at all in this regard(as far as my search goes).
    Thanks in advance
    -Venkat

I finally got it working by VERY CAREFULLY reading the instructions in the install.txt document in the SSO SDK package. You have to set up the partner application with a new schema in the login server database, and run the regapp.sql script AFTER editing it to insert data from the Login Server Partner Application admin screen. After you register the partner app in Portal, it gives you some info (site token, listener token, encryption key, etc). You have to MANUALLY copy these and paste them into the regapp.sql script, then run the script in the partner app schema. Make sure you don't confuse capital I with numeral 1 (like I did, since Oracle so nicely uses a non-serif font where you can not tell the difference).
Also make sure you copy the exact values for these parameters into your code when you use the SSOEnabler class. The listener token was very confusing since different documents appear to disagree on whether it should include the partner app name or not. It does require the partner app name:
    app-name:hostname:port
hostname and port are for the web server that is handling http requests for the login server (usually your main portal web server).
