Web Conference - Invitations via Group Lists - Only some members see invite

1) Start a new conference via a browser.
2) Input invites - enter apac-ondemand-team-sg-grp
3) Only some members of the APAC-OnDemand-Team workspace can see the conference in the list. Most cannot.
Why can only some members of the workspace see the conference?
We checked to ensure that those members that could not see the conference were logged in.

Do we have any difference between the users ? If you as a user create the conference and can see the other members to invite them then there should not be a difference.
Can you try inviting the users who cannot see the conference as members of the group as individuals - that way we can distinguish between group and user access issues if they can see it when invited personally but not when done as a group invite the issue may be in the group configuration.

Why can only some machines see netboot images at the startup screen?

I have a 10.6.6 server running as a netboot server. I have about 10 images running on the server that consist of a 10.6.6 and 10.5.8 triage partition and a 10.6.6 and 10.5.8 restore image. Now what I have noticed is that newer machines after starting up and holding down the option key will see all the available images.But on some older intel machines nothing will show up after holding the option key down accept the internal drive itself, But if you hold down the N key it WILL boot to the default image.
I have made sure and checked that the ethernet port was working on the older machines. I also made sure that I can see the images from the startup control panel. All machines can see the netboot images from the startup control panel, but older intel versions cant. However I was able to sometimes get the old white and black macbooks to see the images but others not.
Any suggestions as to why some machines will see the images at the startup screen after holding the option key and why some wont?

That, most likely, means that you have a fairly large number of images and/or they have very long names.
The number of images that can be displayed is limited by the size of the data packet which contains the NetBoot volume information. Two techniques we use to keep this in check are 1) aggressive purging of outdated images, and 2) use of shorter display names (the one seen in Startup Disk, not the one in the NetBootSP0 folder).

Make group calendars only editable by some people of the group

Hi,
I've got 2 group calendars where people are subscribed to. I noticed that all group members can change events in those group calendars but we want only 2 people to be able to do this, all other members only subsribe to this. I've played around in WGM, allowing only some members of the group to edit, but this didn't work, other members were not allowed anymore to access the group calendar.

By using to individual calendars and then delegating them we solved the issue.

I have a new printer which behaves OK except it will not print directly from a web site accessed via Firefox. We do not have this problem if accessed via another browser. Suggestions?

New printer is Brother MFCJ615W. OS is XP. Computer is quite old Dell. Printer also refuses to print pictures from .jpg files - but the fact that I can print direct from web sites accessed via another browser suggests some of the problem is with Firefox. I asked this a few days ago and got an email reply giving me a link to click on - but this only produced an error message.

I think I solved the wifi connection problem, just by switching off completely the router! sounds trivial, but in this case it worked!!!
the funny behaviour of the trackpad/cursor still persists. any suggestion???

Online Demonstration - Web Conference Application recommendations

Hi Folks.
I want to be able to perform an online 'web conference' style demonstration of my APEX application.
In other words I want to invite a bunch of people to connect to a URL where they can passively watch a demonstration of my application that I will perform.
I wondered if any of you had any suggestions for an economic way of doing this.
I was watching Marc Sewtz's APEX 4.0 demo for the German guys earlier today. I guess I'm after something just like the Oracle Web Conference app but, as I only need to do this a couple of times I'm looking for an economic, ad-hoc way of achieving something similar.
If any of you have any recommendations, please let me have them.

I use GotoMeeting (http://gotomeeting.com) for online demonstrations and the like. You can get a free 30-day trial so that you can test it out for yourself. After that, it's $50 a month for any number of meetings (limited to 15 participants).
My advice is that no matter which conference system you choose, use a regular phone line for the audio portion. I have yet to see a successful web-based audio system work for more than 2 minutes...

Our environment is a mixed Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010 server environment, still in transition (after 4 years). Users have Exchange 2007 mailboxes. A recent problem has been reported in a distribution group access model that has been working without

What is the expected behavior?
Does Exchange resolve the "To" distribution group to member mailboxes for delivery purposes, or does it walk the subordinate child groups and check security at each level?

From your description, I would like to verify if you have done some changes for GroupB distribution group. Ensure that "[email protected]" is added to the "accept list" in GroupB's message delivery
restrictions.
What's more, are GroupA GroupB and GroupC Exchange 2010 distribution groups?

Itunes wont list all songs on ipod, only some of them

My itunes doesn’t list all the songs on my ipod, only some of them. (Only the ones uploaded after a certain date, when I think I forgot to eject my ipod one day).
The ipod definitely has all the albums I've ever uploaded on it. I know because I've tried looking on my friends’ computer and his DOES show all songs on my ipod.
Sounds like a PC problem, not an ipod problem, right? So I tried re-installing itunes, but that doesn’t fix it.
It’s not a bit deal, but it just means I can’t delete certain albums from my ipod.

How exactly are you trying to view this info.
Select the iPod as the Source. Do not select any of the playlists on the iPod, just select the iPod itself.
Any reason you are manually managing the iPod?

Please understand I am a frustrated customer like you, , but the availability of movies that have been shown before is dependant on licencing from the rights owners. Sky quite rightly have to pay the film studios for the ability to show to Sky's customers. As I understand it they purchase the right for a period of time, hence when the right expires then it has to be removed. The costing of the movies does reflect on the anticipated popularity of the programme, hence an older less popular movie might seem expensive but if not many people watch and pay that would be right. The apparent silliness of having movies in the store and on demand, allows those people who do not have a movie subscription to rent the movie on a one off basis. I agree that Sky seem to be licencing some programmes for shorter periods and it really upsets me when movies appear in buy and keep but not available to rent only. I recently queried Sky about Fortitude being available in OnDemand until 2022!, then of course found out that Sky owns the rights of the series. I can only say be careful if you are a movies subscriber and wish to watch a movie, not to select the Sky Store version if it is available in the Movies on Demand section. I recently wanted to watch a film that I found in Sky store at a cost, and just to be sure I searched for it and found it was to be shown on Channel 4 in a few days. I don't think we'll ever understand how such decision are made as to how long they licence movies for and how the charging model works with the film studios. Logically you would think that a smallish fee to have available indefinately and to pay the studio fee based on the number of rentals would be better, but that might be difficult to administer and Sky would have to have extra server storage fees, which they outsource. yet on Safari 4.0.4 I don't see an option which indeed should be very useful: "Accept coockies from my web sites custom list only". With this option I could quickly compile a list with the web sites I like to leave my info and exclude all the rest. For example, I should put on this list only web sites like facebook.com, discussion.apple.com, twitter.com because they need to store my username and password to automatically log in on the next times. I will exclude all the other web sites, which usually gather informations I don't like to share with.
It's an option about the privacy. So I presume it should be welcome by the whole Mac community.

No, Safari does not offer that, but there is an alternative that might also work for you:
I have Cookie Preferences set to 'Accept cookies only for sites I visit', but I only wish to retain cookies for the sites i regularly visit, like these forums and others.
To that end I use a small app called SafariCookies:

which only works on Leopard and Snow Leopard. This adds an item in Safari Preferences whereby you can automatically delete all cookies on shutdown, except those particular 'favourite' ones you wish to retain to avoid entering your user name and password each time you visit.

I want to invite the customer to the web conference as a guest, guest should be able to login to the conference with out giving username and password.
How to configure this option in Beehive 1.5.1.0.0.

If you schedule a conference through Outlook, you can simply enable the calendar invite with a Beehive webconference. Then all invitees get the webconf details. If there are non-Beehive users, they will get an email with the information, a link to join the conference as non-Beehive user.
If you start a conference on the fly, then in the Beehive conference, there is an option to copy the url of the meeting. This url then can be shared (e.g. using chat) with the non-Beehive user.
If the meeting is password protected, then the password is part of the url. A username is not applicable for an external user, but they have to specify a name which will be used as display name in the conference.

1. Is the groups listing page generated or a static index page?
2. Can it me modified? How? Where?

The strings are found in /Library/Application Support/Apple/WikiServer/en.lproj/default.strings. It's listed twice but I think it's the second one that changes that text on the web pages. That way you can change the strings without editing the .xsl files.
That being said, I am using the apple them and I've successfully (somewhat) converted my entire site to use this template with my customizations. I have been playing with the the .xsl files quite a bit and I was wondering if anyone knows how to have the server point to a new theme file so that my changes don't get overwritten with an update.
I can see numerous places where the includes in many of the .xsl files show a path to the /usr/share/wikid/lib/apple_templates/ files but, but where is the root of where it looks for this info and how do I change it so that I am immune to update overwriting issues?

Sharepoint list dataheet view error "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available"

I have a List which is having around 14000 items in it.while opening that list in datasheet view it is giving error .
Below is a summary of the issue:
After selecting datasheet view beow error occurs:
    "Cannot connect to the server at this time. You can continue working with this list, but some data may not be available."
    "Unable to retrieve all data."
    The item counts displays say 100 out of 14000 items.
Exporting List to excel is giving only 2000 records out of 14000 records.
Other Observations   -
This is happening to only one list on the site .There are other lists in the site whose no. of records is equal to 8000 to 9000.They are working absolutely fine without any error.
Also, If I am saving this list as a template and creating another list with it ,then it is working absolutely fine with 14000 records,so the issue does not seem to be related with no. of records as the template list is working fine.
I have checked the Alternate access mapping setting ,its fine.
It should not be related to lookup,datefield or any other column as the list created from it template is working fine with all these columns.
I checked below links also ,but doesn't seem to work in my case.

I have spent two days to resolve this issue. Microsoft has released two KBs with reference to this issue...but are not appearing in search results at the top.
I am sharing my finding.
1. First install the
KB2552989 (Hopefully you might have already installed it. The KB detetcts it and informs the user.)
2. Then update registry by adding new key for data fetch timeout as mentioned inKB2553007
These two steps resolved the issue in our environment. Hope it might help others as well.
