Web Conferencing Console

O.k. I can't believe this isn't on forum or in Metalink.
Just got Web Conferencing up and so far have had 2 users unable to install the client console piece. I've gone through security settings and all that. They can install on their systems, so that shouldn't be a problem. Basically, everything the "New User" test recommends for that failing seems o.k. One is XP and the other W2k, buy my laptop is XP and it works.
Any ideas?

If the other pcs that cannot donload the client are on the same network then your can ignore the informaiton below.
The problem that you are experiencing sounds to be a firewall issue on the remote site. This is common and is worked around by enabling https tunnelling on your web conferencing server. You will probably notice that the customers that are connecting successfully, to your web conferencing server may not be behind a firewall that only has ports 80 and 443 open.
Port 80 is the default http port and every company has this port open if they are on the internet. Port 443 is the default port for any https (SSL) communication and this also should be open on every companies firewall or they would not be able to view secured sites.
So how do you enable https tunnelling on your web conferencing server?

If you have any problems configuring https tunnelling you should open a TAR and have Oracle Support Services assist you in making https tunnelling work for you .

Web Conferencing Console - vbscript errors

Has anyone had issues accessing the Web Conferencing 'Console' applet? When I try the New User 'Test' link to download the Console and test my system I get several VBScript errors and it never gets more than 10% downloaded.

What browser are you using?
For Oracle's effort to push Linux, it still does a much better job supporting IE than any other browser unfortunately. I would also think that IE5+ is required.

Port 7777 - downloading Web Conference Console

Even though our Web Conferencing (and all other services) are served from HTTPS (port 443) our off-site users (who are behind a firewall) get a 'network error' dialog when trying to download the Web Conferencing Console during their New User 'Test' procedure.
I have found that it only works for them if I open port 7777 back up on Apache. Apperently the console is being delivered on port 7777 behind the scenes.
Does anyone know how to configure the port being used for this particular process?

You need to change ApacheWebPort property with imtctl:
cd $(ORACLE_HOME)/imeeting/bin
./imtctl -pname ApacheWebPort -pvalue 80
This property controls on which port the console will send HTTP requests in unsecure meetings, while ApacheWebSecurePort controls the port for secure meetings. You need to keep both ports open.
Depending on whether the meeting is secure or not, one of the ports is used to download the console (New User Test is considered non-secure). This sounds like a bug though, intuitively it should use the port users type in their browsers.

Application doesn't update in web conferencing

I tried to share a graphics application, ProductView, in Web Conferencing. It worked at first, but the graphics portion does not update at the shared sites.
This product probably uses Open/GL to display its graphics. Is there a limitation in Web Conferencing application sharing?

The problem was I forgot to include one of the .jar files in the .jnlp file. The application started but immediately finished because it couldn�t find the second jar. Java console has the same behavior and this is why I couldn�t see the message in the console.

In Firefox 30, how can I disable the Web Developer console?

I use a keyboard macro program. Its settings, however, are preempted by the Web Developer tools' shortcuts. Therefore, I either want to (a) totally disable the Web Developer console or (b) remove/reset the shortcuts used by it.

The prefs for disabling some DevTools (devtools.*.enabled) are there on the <b>about:config</b> page, but I'm not seeing anything in the code that they are supported and tests only include a few prefs.
Disabling the developer toolbar works, but not disabling any of the tools in the web console AFAICT.

Alert: [LYNC] 'Lync Server Web Conferencing' NT Service is not running.

We keep getting this below Alert and everytime this happens, Conferencing would disconnect and connect back again. Current setup as below. We are on latest CU November 2014.

Did the issue also happen before updating to the latest CU?
Please make sure you have installed the latest service pack for the Microsoft .NET Framework
Please try to change part of Lync service to start as “Automatic (Delayed Start)”, restart FE Servers and then test again.

LDAP in web logic console vs. bi publisher admin screen

Hello,
what is the advantage of setting the LDAP in the weblogic admin
console vs. the bi publisher admin screen? Can move LDAP users into groups that I define in the web logic admin console or the bi publisher admin screen?
I am not talking about the embedded ldap but the ldap server that is part of the infrastructure independently from oracle.

You need to configure that in weblogic as one of the authentication providers if you have not done so yet, otherwise they cannot magically appear in WLS console.
So I am assuming you are expecting too much if you have not configured and trying to look for LDAP users. Let us know if you have already configured one but having trouble managing these users.
If the functionality (allocating LDAP users to groups) exists in the oracle web logic console,Even though you configure LDAP users in WLS , you cannot assign LDAP users to LDAP groups in WLS since you have to do that in your LDAP not in WLS.
why does this functionality also in the Oracle BI Publisher Admin screen?Oracle BI Publisher security is managed by Fusion middleware security model not Weblogic , so to get the LDAP users to BIP you need to integrate OBIEE security to BI Publisher.

I would like to map/transform from one format of XSD to another format of XSD.
Should we proceed this way
Step 1: Load both Source format (XSD) and Target Format (XSD) in weblogic workshop
Step 2: Do the mapping
Step 3 : Use the generated XSLT and load it as a resource in Osb web-based console.
Is this the recommended approach ?

Problems with Java and Web conferencing

I need to use a Web conferencing system that does not require a download. I tried using one that uses Java but several of my clients had problems because their JVM was not compatible or they did not have a JVM installed. Is there a Web conferencing system with no download that does not require Java?

The GoMeetNow system has a mode they call Universal Attendance � there is no requirement of any download whatsoever. This will sure do the job for you.

Web dynpro console - monitor - JCO Connection pools

If you go to the web dynpro console -> monitor -> JCO connection pools you see a table with information.

Web Dynpro Console Doesnt display any Performance Data

Hello,
I set the JARM parameter to 10 in the Studio. Rebuild, Deployed new archive. Ran the Application and accessed couple of functions.
When I go to the Web Dynpro Console, Trying to display the performance data. But I dont see anything in Applications or Web Dynpro Framework.
I couldnt guess what went wrong. Does anybody know the reason, why didnt display the performance Data.

Changing resolutions available in web Template Console

Most of our Sun Ray 3 devices are connected to monitors running at 1600x900, which isn't one of the "built in" resolution options. I saw in How to set custom resolution list in the VDI selector ? how to change the resolutions listed in the Desktop Selector. That was helpful. But I only see 1024x768 and 1280x1024 options in the web-based Console. I'd love to be able to set 1600x900 as an option here, so when we set windows and such up in the Template Console, those are reflected in the cloned desktops. Additionally, if the resolution doesn't match right, at the "press ctrl-alt-del" window, you get a sort of "letterbox" look. Is there any way to change the resolutions in the Desktop Console?

I have now seen that it is possible to create an ABAP class with superclass CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE and override the method SCALING_FACTOR_CELL.
then I should fill in this class in the param-tag in the html.
BUT this is only possible in System 3.5, but not anymore in 7.0! Everywhere I can just find the sample coding for 3.5, but nothing for how to do this in BI 7.0...
So does anybody know, how I can use external ABAP classes as "user exits" in BI 7.0?

The WRT160N's Web Admin Console Keeps Becoming Unaccessible

Hi all,
I just bought a WRT160N v2 Router to replace my WRT54G.
For some reason, after the router runs for a few hours or a day, the Web Admin Console becomes unaccesible to both wired and wireless computers in the network.
I set it up to work on https only, which always worked with WRT54G. And I don't think that is a problem.
It simply works and after a while it doesn't. Resetting the router solves the problem temporarily. It's like the router doesn't accept HTTP requests from anyone all of the sudden.
I disabled firewalls and everything else running on both the wired and wireless clients without success.
I can successfully ping the router IP (192.168.1.1) but pointing to https://192.168.1.1 has no success.

The same thing happened to me when I upgraded to build 11. Now both wired and wireless disconnects occur frequently instead only wireless occasionally. For most devices you can download and re-flash the previous firmware - but not with Linksys I guess. Because I was beyond the 30 days return limit, I ended up buying a cheap Netgear G router (the same as what the Linksys was replacing) which works flawlessly. I will keep the Linksys in hopes that future firmware (if they ever release any) will address these issues. The reason I got the N was faster in network speed and increased wireless range. When it was working, with the build 8, I did have have problems connecting both laptops at the maximum speed for N. I had to downgrade to the standard path.
I bought Linksys because of its affiliation with Cisco, but in hindsight I probably would have tried the Netgear N.
Again, I STILL cannot believe you cannot get the previous firmware version!

Web Conferencing

A user receives the following error after clicking on the link "Web Conferences" on the OCS Portal Page: ... "Internal Error.: OID connection misconfigured or other error detected. Please notify the system administrator. Click Login Again to access the application or click Contact Us to inform us of the problem you are experiencing." ....
However, if the user logs in using a different computer, he can login to the Web Conferencing application without any problems. The two computers that are involved in this scenario are set up identical, yet, one fails and the other is successful.
Hope that someone can give me some idea of what I am overlooking in the set up of the failing computer.

I suspect that the difference between the two computers is the network access. I think that the computer that is failing does not either have external (internet) or does not have direct access to the middle tier.
The parameter ApacheGlobalWebHost in the imeeting server should have the main url for middle tier or Load Balancer. The ApacheWebhost should have the Middle tier url as this is the url that you are being redirected to. If the second computer does not have direct access to that server then you would encounter this issue.
Also remember you have to have access to the infrastructure to be able to sign in and sso has to be setup properly to be able to access the imeeting application. This may be another cause of this issue.
Try the url http://hostname:port/imtapp/app/prelogin.uix
If you are still having a problem open a SR to Support and have them diagnose the issue.
It is a place to start looking. ;)

Vmware Web Remote Console Plugin

I'm having some issues installing the Vmware Web Remote Console Plugin (VMware-ClientIntegrationPlugin-5.1.0.x86_64.bundle) it says that it installed the package in /etc/init.d, now since Arch is using systemd I point the installation to systemd directories, but still does not work, I also tried using vmware-vsphere-web-client-plugin from AUR (even though is out of date) I put the VMware-ClientIntegrationPlugin-5.1.0.x86_64.bundle in a PKGBUILD directory which came up with this error:
