Web Conferencing - Online Meetings & Presentations

With so many tools for web conferencing (online meetings and presentations) available, Im totally confused about choosing a software/ hardware combination appliance for my office. Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone who might have used one and recommend!!!

I admit that with the vast amount of service providers available today, its not always easy to find the one that best fills the bill for your particular web conferencing needs. Frankly speaking about my personal experience that I have been using RHUB Web Conferencing myself and it has been excellent in fulfilling my needs of web conferencing. This web conferencing appliance is installable behind your firewall and features screen sharing, annotation/whiteboard, remote control. It is available from http://www.rhubcom.com/. Try it.

  • Lync 2011 on Mac - force online meetings to user client, NOT web app

When using Lync 2011 on Mac OS X, and trying to join online meetings, we would like the default to be launching the meeting within the Lync client. Instead, it automatically loads the web app, even after the plugin is deleted. Can anyone tell me how to
set this behavior as the default?

    Andrew,
I'm aware that it is not a Lync setting issue. I'm looking for the proper setup procedure/configuration to allow this behavior to happen: when a user clicks on a Lync meeting, the meeting is launched in their client, and not the web app. I've managed to
get close to this with one system - the web client still attempts to load a web page, but then redirects to the Lync client. This was achieved by removing the plugins and updating the Lync client. However I am still struggling with Lync clients that are already
    updated/configured.
I haven't nailed down how this is achieved during the setup process and is wondering if anyone familiar with OS X else has dealt with this and found a solution.
    Thank you,
    Michael

  • Web Conferencing Console

O.k. I can't believe this isn't on forum or in Metalink.
Just got Web Conferencing up and so far have had 2 users unable to install the client console piece. I've gone through security settings and all that. They can install on their systems, so that shouldn't be a problem. Basically, everything the "New User" test recommends for that failing seems o.k. One is XP and the other W2k, buy my laptop is XP and it works.
    Any ideas?

If the other pcs that cannot donload the client are on the same network then your can ignore the informaiton below.
The problem that you are experiencing sounds to be a firewall issue on the remote site. This is common and is worked around by enabling https tunnelling on your web conferencing server. You will probably notice that the customers that are connecting successfully, to your web conferencing server may not be behind a firewall that only has ports 80 and 443 open.
Port 80 is the default http port and every company has this port open if they are on the internet. Port 443 is the default port for any https (SSL) communication and this also should be open on every companies firewall or they would not be able to view secured sites.
So how do you enable https tunnelling on your web conferencing server?
You will need to review the online documentation.

This chapter will describe how to enable mod_imeeting. This is the module that will allow users to connect to your web conferencing server even if they are behind a secure remote firewall.
If you have any problems configuring https tunnelling you should open a TAR and have Oracle Support Services assist you in making https tunnelling work for you .

  • Application doesn't update in web conferencing

I tried to share a graphics application, ProductView, in Web Conferencing. It worked at first, but the graphics portion does not update at the shared sites.
This product probably uses Open/GL to display its graphics. Is there a limitation in Web Conferencing application sharing?
    David

The problem was I forgot to include one of the .jar files in the .jnlp file. The application started but immediately finished because it couldnt find the second jar. Java console has the same behavior and this is why I couldnt see the message in the console.
    Thank you anyway!

Did the issue also happen before updating to the latest CU?
Please make sure you have installed the latest service pack for the Microsoft .NET Framework
Please try to change part of Lync service to start as “Automatic (Delayed Start)”, restart FE Servers and then test again.

  • Problems with Java and Web conferencing

I need to use a Web conferencing system that does not require a download. I tried using one that uses Java but several of my clients had problems because their JVM was not compatible or they did not have a JVM installed. Is there a Web conferencing system with no download that does not require Java?

The GoMeetNow system has a mode they call Universal Attendance there is no requirement of any download whatsoever. This will sure do the job for you.

  • Java J2SE 5.0 Release 4 preventing access to online meetings

Not sure if anyone else is experiencing any problems with functionality of there browsers since installing the update.
I'm not able to log onto virtual online meetings. When the applet tries to load I get the following error message -
"I'm sorry, but you do not have the correct version of Apple's Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ) installed. CCC Confer requires MRJ version 2.2.3 or greater to run.
Just click on the link below to go to Apple's website where you will be provided with detailed instructions on how to install the new MRJ. Please be sure to install MRJ version 2.2.3 or later.
Note that registration is required to access the Apple Care site.

I'm not able to install the older version of Java as it requires Mac OS 8 or 9 to install.
Is there some way to go back or disable the newer version of Java?
    Anyone else having any problems?

  • I have problems uploading a journal from iPhoto in my iPad, the web page online works on the iPad but I can't open the link on my computer

I have problems uploading a journal from iPhoto in my iPad, the web page online works on the iPad but I can't open the link on my computer

What did you rent the film on, your iPad or your Mac ? If you rented it on your iPad then it should have downloaded into the Videos app on it (you should get a rentals tab in the app). If you rented it on your Mac then it should be in the Movies part of your Mac's iTunes library, you will have to connect your iPad to your Mac's iTunes and move it from your Mac to your iPad (I think that it should show on the iPad's Movies tab for moving)

  • Web Conferencing

A user receives the following error after clicking on the link "Web Conferences" on the OCS Portal Page: ... "Internal Error.: OID connection misconfigured or other error detected. Please notify the system administrator. Click Login Again to access the application or click Contact Us to inform us of the problem you are experiencing." ....
However, if the user logs in using a different computer, he can login to the Web Conferencing application without any problems. The two computers that are involved in this scenario are set up identical, yet, one fails and the other is successful.
Hope that someone can give me some idea of what I am overlooking in the set up of the failing computer.
    Thank you.
    New OCS Admin in Michigan.

I suspect that the difference between the two computers is the network access. I think that the computer that is failing does not either have external (internet) or does not have direct access to the middle tier.
The parameter ApacheGlobalWebHost in the imeeting server should have the main url for middle tier or Load Balancer. The ApacheWebhost should have the Middle tier url as this is the url that you are being redirected to. If the second computer does not have direct access to that server then you would encounter this issue.
Also remember you have to have access to the infrastructure to be able to sign in and sso has to be setup properly to be able to access the imeeting application. This may be another cause of this issue.
    Try the url http://hostname:port/imtapp/app/prelogin.uix
If you are still having a problem open a SR to Support and have them diagnose the issue.
It is a place to start looking. ;)

  • Are NWDS Mobile Pluggins neccesary to develop Mobile Web Dynpro Online?

    Hi all
Do I need to put in NW Developer Studio the pluggins for mobile to develop a Mobile Web Dynpro Online Application (Always Connected scenario)?
    Thanks for your answers
    Investiga

    Hi Investiga,
As Vidya as mentioned you dont have to install anything extra for Mobile Webdynpro Online,
You can use the Webdynpro perspective in NWDS for your development.
Only thing you need to be aware of is the supported elements in the Webdynpro Perspective for Mobile.
The following documentation will help you out.

  • Web Conferencing Using JTAPI - Need help

    Hi,
I have to work on "Web Conferencing" application, but i don't have any idea how this can be done in Java.
I heard that, JTAPI can be used for this purpose.
Please tell me anyone, is it possible to do Conferencing type of application using JTAPI.
If so what are the Requirements for that?
Do we need to use any specific kind of telephone devices??+
Give me some idea how to begin with this, and any source where i can get all the details about this.
    Thanks for any help.....
    Thanks,

Take a look at the SIP servlet projects such as Sailfin if you want to deal with traditional PSTN.

  • Necessary ports for Web Conferencing in Oracle Collaboration Suite

    Hi everybody!
What ports are necessary for opening to ensure the functioning with Web Conferencing in Oracle Collaboration Suite 10g (on a computer of the client and a server)
Thanks a lot for your helps.

    Hi,
If it's all configured properly on the server, you'll only need whatever port is configured for SSL on the middletier webserver (standard is 443) for actually running the conference - the web application used for scheduling etc. might use a different port but would usually be the same in a well configured environment.

  • Web conferencing and proxy

    Hi,
is there an option to define a proxy while using beehive web conferencing? I don't see this option in the conferencing.cfg.
    Thanks,
    Stephane.

Well, I am still right in what I'm saying :) : the question has not been labelled "external attendees access" or "is HTTPS tunneling available" !
If you are ready to use a DMZ instance and open some ports, you don't need a proxy to open your web conference server to people on the internet. That's a usage of web conferencing that makes sense.
And more that that, and this is my opinion, considering HTTPS is the
universal solution for network security is a mistake. it's a door open
to anything that's encrypted, and people consider it's safe because of
that. Some engineers invented protocols to make sure that the trafic is
properly identifed, the "all in HTTPS" paradigm is just a denial of
    common sense in security ...
Of course, HTTPS tunneling is still a useful option, but not the best IMHO.
