Web Dynpro ALV vs ALV

hi all,
i use the alv with the new model in a normal abap-program and there i use the statement SET COUNTRY 'US' to show the date-format in us-mode, which works fine.
doing the same with webDynpro ALV does not work.
Is there another possibility to use that, is this a bug - we use nw2004s with SP8, or any workaround possible.
kind regards,
oliver

set country
statement is used by write statements.
This implies the original ALV tool user write statements to help construct output.
It is plausible the WDA ALV used write to statements to help format output for the grid but
not it is not necessary.
Important is that the users date format as in the SU01 is correctly interpreted.
ie the DATE out in WDA ALV should reflect the user's settings. Otherwise raise OSS message.
I just tested an WDA ALV and it reflected user ID date format changes immediately. Ie
next call to an application.
Cheers
Phil

Yes you have to do coding in WDDOMODIFYVIEW only.

  • ALV report web (BSP and Web Dynpro)

    Hi,
I want to display report results in a BSP table using a list viewer component.
I've found some classes for web dynpro that use ALV to print data results. Is there any way to use the same within a BSP application?
(Web Dynpro example that use an ALV table:
    'WDR_TEST_DYN_ALV_USAGE'.)
    Thanks and regards,
    Maria

what ALV features you are looking for?
    1. sorting - available in bsp tableview
    2. filter - availalbe in bsp tableview
    3. layout management (visible columns) - is doable with BSP (search weblog area for BSP personalize tableview)
    4. export to excel - you can code that in BSP (code samples/special tag available in BSP weblog area)
but if you want a easy way out, as others mentioned, you can use integrated/standalone ITS to generate ALV and then use that its page as frame/iframe within you BSP

  • How to fix few rows in ALV after filtering on a column in Web Dynpro ABAP

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement:
In an ALV, when i filter based on a column, then this filter should not be applied to 2 of its rows.
These rows relate to totals. The totals are manually calculated as they require other component information too.
Along with the filter result, these total rows have to be displayed.
Let me know in case ALV in Web Dynpro ABAP supports this functionality.
    Regards,
    Rekha

    Hi,
ALV table does not support this functionality.
You can display the total in an another table instead.
I had the same requirement with total and had to display the totals separately.
    Thanks,
    Feroz

  • Web Dynpro ABAP: Assigning of Conversion Exits in ALV

    Hi,
We are currently developing a generic data display application using ALV technology in Web Dynpro ABAP. "Generic" means that the structure of the data is created dynamically during runtime (using RTTS) and that even the contained data elements are created dynamically without any relation to DDIC. The generation is based on metadata like field name, data type, length, decimals, conversion exit.
Our problem is that we were not able to find a way to assign the conversion exit of a data element ("column") in Web Dynpro ALV. Without this feature, no output conversions will take place since the data elements have no relation to DDIC. In the "classical" ALV, this could be easily done using method SET_EDIT_MASK of class CL_SALV_COLUMN.
Is there a similar method in WebDynpro ALV or at least an alternative approach to assign a conversion exit to a column or cell?
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Sven

    Hello Sven Hader,
As you said you are generatiing the metadata like field name, data type, length, decimals, conversion exit dynamically.
Can you please let me know how you are diong this?
Meanwhile, you can try this approach to assign a Conversion exit to ALV Table column attribute dynamically.
    DATA:     lv_data                         TYPE  dd04v,
lv_mode_ext2int          type   ESEBOOLE. "Conversion mode that you are in

      IF lv_mode_ext2int = 'X'.
        ASSIGN cl_im_imp_ehs_material_erp=>mv_conversion_exit_input
            TO <lv_funcname>.
      ELSE.
        ASSIGN cl_im_imp_ehs_material_erp=>mv_conversion_exit_output
            TO <lv_funcname>.
      ENDIF.
    (3) call the conversion exit
      CHECK <lv_funcname> IS ASSIGNED.
      TRY.
          CALL FUNCTION <lv_funcname>

  • ALV table in Web dynpro java

    Hello Experts,
I have a task to migrate the usage of UI element IWDtable to ALV Table in my application for some features like Sorting and filtering supported in ALV table.
I searched in Google and SDN about the ALV table, could not find any document about ALV table in Java (Found docs only with ABAP).
Is ALV table supported in Web dynpro java ? If yes, please pass me the URL for the basics of ALV table.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Regards,
    Harish

    Hello,
I understand from previous posts in this thread, that the ALV is not yet available for use within WebDynpro. Although it is already documented in the NWDS documentation under:
SAP NetWeaver CE Developer Studio Documentation > Developer's Guide > Developing and Composing Applications > Developing User Interfaces with Web Dynpro for Java > Reference > UI Element Guide > Tables and Lists > Displaying Lists with SAP List Viewer > Integrating SAP List Viewer into Applications
Since it is listed under "Developing User Interfaces with Web Dynpro for Java" I would assume that is should be possible. We are on NW CE 7.1 SP5.
I tried to get a test application running based on the documentation, but the documentation is too thin and I run into an Null-Pointer exception in a SAP class called:
    at com.sap.ip.bi.alv.rendering.ALVGraphicsRenderer.init(ALVGraphicsRenderer.java:117)
If it is not yet released for use then I wonder why it is already part of the documentation ?
    Take care

  • Exporting content of ALV grid in Web Dynpro for ABAP

    Hello Experts
I have a following request which seems to be giving some headaches.
I need to export results from one of the Web Dynpro reports (ABAP) I have developed to the Excel spreadsheet. Results are stored on ALV component. Request is to add header to export file with additional information like report title, selection criteria, date when report has been executed. By default export file contains only column names and data. I have set the header for ALV grid with all extra information I need to be passed to Excel file but it does not seem to be transferred at all.
At the moment I see 2 possible solutions: 1) write my own Excel export 2) use PDF export where it is possible to set header/footer text. None of these solutions are ideal, I'd rather set header in standard Excel export. Is that even possible? Please help.
    Regards
    Michael

    Hello Michael,
I haven't tried using the builtin functionality of ALV to achieve a similar fnctionality as yours but can suggest you a workaround for that. As how you might be already knowing you can try using the CL_WD_RUNTIME_SERVICES=>attach_file_to_response to download the contents into Excel/notepad/word. So just can modify the internal table to contain the extra information that you need. You can use the approach below for using the attach_file_to_response method:
    1) First read the table's data into an internal table.
    2) Convert the internal table data to STRING format.
    3) Now convert it into tab separated format as how desired.
    4) Convert this STRING format to XSTRING format
    5) Make use of the attach_file_to_response method.

Here the requiremnet is to save the file in HTML format.
But the Standard ALV in web dynpro has only the option to export the result in Excel and PDF.
Could any one suggest or tell me that is there any customized way to add the HTML format option in the ALV.
The output of the ALV should be saved as HTML.
Note: In R/3, The ALV provides us with both Excel and HTML format.
