Web Expression fontface

Having issues with fontface. It displays correctly in Chrome and Firefox but not in Internet Explorer 9-11. If I make a change in the css I can then make it work in IE but not in Chrome of Firefox. I obviously am missing something but I'm just not sure.

Well, it displays on 1 of those browsers on my computer (Chrome 40), with marginal quality. IE and Firefox have apparently substituted another font (which users can force FF to do).
But it's a lousy font for web work; it's not designed for low-resolution display devices (like desktop and laptop monitors--even "high resolution" ones). At 96 dpi (standard desktop), there just isn't enough resolution to display the slight changes
in stroke width, nor at 136 dpi (high-resolution laptops).
Plus, font-face adds an extra download burden on the user and is not universally supported.
Look at this screen shot: L-R, IE9, Chrome 40, Firefox 35. The font really stinks in Chrome (Opera 27 looks the same, since they use the same rendering engine now). It's stretched vertically slightly (compare the O and numbering on the lists). And it's got
stray aliasing artifacts (top of the a, n, d, o, e, etc.). And look at the lower crossbar in the F and the differing widths of uprights in the d, l, h.
Chrome does a lousy job of rendering font-face generally, and users can turn off the capability of pages to force a typeface in Firefox (in the Options). I have no idea how browsers on tablets and smartphones render font-face, but I wouldn't count on
anything.
My suggestion: forget getting fancy with fonts.

My database not listed at SQL data source in Web Expression 4

Can anyone help me out?
Am not sure whether this is the correct place for my problem.
I set up SQL Server 2005. Created a database named "employee" and a table under it "emp_info"
I tried to connect it from Microsoft Web Expression 4 through SQL Data Source control. Well, the connection test is successful but the database i created is not shown in the drop down. However, it shows the system databases.
Again i create the table under one of the system databases, and tried to connect it. Those system tables which are there from before are only available to connect but not the table i newly created.
I have checked the properties, permission of the table as well as the database. Nothing is wrong there.
Will attach screenshot after the forum admin verify me.

Microsoft Web Expression VS DW

I downloaded Microsoft Web Expression Beta and have been
favoriably impressed. I think they have been spending a lot of time
looking at DW and borrowing the best. I am frankly surprised that
this isn't like all the other fat-dogs that MS creates as
programming tools. I wish wish wish DW/Macromedia/Adobe whoever
would update DW for ASP.net 2, it would not take much to be able to
go toe-to-toe with web expression.

Just finished downloading whooping 214 mb web designer from
microsoft site, and installed without any hassle.
I had a little time to have a quick look. My quick look has
given the judgement that DreamWeaver is going to loose the loyal
community soon, if it will not take asp.net 2.0 support into
consideration.
Web Designer comes with plenty of css templates and very good
support of Css, XHTML and Asp.net 2.0 Master Pages, ASP.NET 2.0
Templates (DWT) and full visual support for all commands of asp.net
2.0. ( Buttons, Forms, Dropdowns, Links etc..... ). The CSS works
great in IE and FireFox.
I strongly suggest each designer/developer to install and
experience themselves. You have nothing to lose and ofcourse gain
more just free.
Here is my My personal suggestion to those working on asp.net
2.0 and cursing DW8 for asp.net 2.0 support........................
Stop Cursing, start installing and experience the great tool
totally free Till February 2007. May be DW8 comes out with a
solution till then. And if at all it does not come out, you still
have a much better tool and experience with you.
I will need some more time to explore web designer at length.
After all an excellent combination of Web Designer and Visual Web
Developer is the future for every successful designer/developer.
I do suggest other members to have hands on and post some
remarks, so that others may judge/decide/benefit too.

I run a development group for a software company. We are
starting to build some of our products to support alternative web
type interfaces.
Since we are primarily a Microsoft development group we
looked at Web Expressions vs. Dream Weaver.
We also subscribe to MSDN and pay 10K for what is supposed to
be a universal subscription service from Microsoft allowing us
access to all Microsoft technology. Recently Microsoft has started
to alienate it's developers and it's turing into a bit of a fiasco.
They have decided not to distribute any Expression products
as part of the MSDN subscriptions. This has infuriated 100's of
developers but Microsoft has not bugded. To add insult to injury
Microsoft has offered us a $99 dollar upgrade path based on the
MSDN subscription.
Many developers are threatining to jump ship to DreamWeaver
unless they include it in the MSDN subscription, again Microsoft is
not giving in and are just figuring that for $99 most developers
will cave.
Here is a free idea for you. Offer a promotion wherein anyone
that sends a screen shot of their MSDN subscription can buy
DreamWeaver for $99 (same price Microsoft wants us to pay for a
product we should have for free via the subscription) and also why
DreamWeaver is superior.
Now advertise in MSDN magazine, and maybe put it on code
project. Bill and Steve will sh.. their pants and I guarantee that
the developers will remember who did what for whom vs. to whom.

Adobe Acrobat XI and Microsoft Expressions 4

Background: Windows 8.1 box, Adobe Acrobat XI (ver. 11.0.07), Microsoft Web Expressions 4
User has Web Expressions open to the intranet web page access, she's able to use that to make changes, changes are seen reflected on intranet page. However when she tries to open a pdf of the intranet via the Web Expressions there's an error message "Adobe has stopped working". I went to the actual intranet page and was able to open one of the pdfs using Adobe Acrobat, as well as opening other pdfs that she had resident on her pc. I created a pdf using the Acrobat tab on Word, then opened it up into Adobe Acrobat, no problems.

Additional information:
I uninstalled both the Adobe Acrobat and Web Expressions, then re-installed each, first Acrobat then Web, still gave error, then Web and Acrobat, also gave error. I did find that when the Acrobat was open, then I selected the link in Web Expressions it would open fine, it's when the Web Expressions is launching the Acrobat that it has the problems. I installed Adobe Reader XI and made it the default, some links would open normally, however other links wouldn't open at all, no error though. I spoke with an Adobe technician, he suggested I go into the Acrobat icon and change the Compatibility Mode to XP SP3, however the error still occurred. He then said to put it to Windows 7, again error occurred. Lastly he said to run it as administrator, however I had given the user full admin rights and the error still occurred. I still set it to run as administrator, still gave the error message. This only means that when I open the desktop icon it's in compatibility mode, however when it's launched via Web Expressions is when it's having the error. I did try setting the Web Expressions to compatibility mode to XP and 7, as well as run as administrator, same error message. I found out that other users that have Web Expressions and Adobe Acrobat, as well as using it in this manner, do not have that error message.

Ex: your output is something like this

When you filter B for value 2, then internally it creates one more internal table like this
A                    B                         C
1                002                         3
4                002                         5
5                003                         6
it tries to matches value 2 to 002 and it fails to retrive the record.
The solution is try to do the conversion exit on the column/field you are trying to filter it. It will work.

Non Display Of Flash Gallery In Web Preview

Using lightroom 2.4 I created a flash gallery. I exported it to my local website. I created a link from the home page in Web Expression 2. When I follow the link I get a blank "design" screen in both Firefox and IE previews. There is no problem with an HTML gallery. As far as I know I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player loaded correctly.

Good Evening Everyone,
I have been attempting to download the VisualStudio Express 2013 program but the setup is being blocked and giving the message "This version of VisualStudio requires a computer with a newer version of Windows."
My computer has Windows 7 Home Premium with ServicePack1 and 64-bit Operating System. The supported systems shows that Windows 7 SP1 is supported but I am still getting this error message. I need this program for a class I am taking at school. My professor
has offered little help so now I turn to any of you for help.
Please let me know if there is an issue with this, a possible work around, or if I need to download one of the older programs. I look forward to a quick response! Thank you for your time.

Which version of Visual stuio express 2013 do you install. Express 2013 for Web, Express 2013 for Windows or express 2013 for Windows Desktop? As far as I know, Express 2013 for Web and express
2013 for Windows Desktop can install in Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64) operation system. But Express 2013 for Windows requires Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64) operating system.

OBIEE Web Services - ReportParams Structure

I have successfully integrated with OBIEE's Web Services to pull back HTML for specific reports. I am now moving on to filtering the reports using the ReportParams structure. I have found virtually no documentation on how to do this. I would essentially like to pass through a parameter inside of the htmlViewService object in order to filter a report. I have something like this:

Unlinking web page from site

Using Dreamweaver CS6 fliud grid and Creative Cloud CC 2014 Adobe Edge, with parts from Web Expression when starting the document it was in Dreamweaver. Part of the ropertys came from my instructor to use the fliud grid and add text which was put together in Web Expression, when i put the hyperlink to the page i worked but when i acached it to my homework form it attached part of the school web page and blocked out previous assignments plus i can not get control of my site which is http://[email protected]/~gbernard//[email protected]/~gbernard. Need help clearing this up to input new assignments.

In WebExpresssions 3.0 there is a panel where you can choose the default encoding for your site. One choice is US/Western (ISO). Is that the ISO8859-1 encoding? Is that the favored encoding to use?
I've been told to stay away from UTF-8 with or without BOM by others.
I may have to save the screwed up pages as new pages to get the "encoding default" to "stick" correct or is there a way to change the encoding and resave without doing that? (That is a web expressions 3.0 question really)
I CAME UP WITH A SOLUTION below but if you have anything to add to the above about UTF-8 encoding being a poor choice, I'd love to hear your opinion. Thanks again for all your help!

Check weather Oracle BI Javahost server is on or not.On if server is down.
Go to Start->Run->Services.msc
Which version of OBIEE are you using?

Hi experts,
We have an presenetation variable p
I want to change the xml from advance tab...say if p=1 then <saw:text>Reconciler</saw:text>

so you mean to say
../../DIST_SHIPMENT_COUNT!=1 AND ../../ADDRESS_DETAILS/ADDRESS_DETAILS_ROW/LOCATION_ID!=SHIP_TO_LOCATION_ID
and
DIST_SHIPMENT_COUNT!=1 and LOCATION_ID!=SHIP_TO_LOCATION_ID
conditions are different?

I have always refered to data elements in the RTF without giving any path and it works fine for me. is there anything that I may be missing?
so you may be have simple case or may be not need to use parent tags logic
