Web fonts in news module

How can I choose to work with other web fonts than suggested within a news module?

Yes add your web font to the header of your index_SCORM.html
e.g. <script src="//use.edgefonts.net/actor.js"></script>
Then in assets/js/CPM.js you have to amend the font tags (CSS font face definitions) to refer to your web font. Now the file is not very human friendly but you can do it if you are careful with a search and replace or use a script.

  • Adobe Muse (2014.3) "Add Web Font" Function Not Working As Expected - Newly Added Fonts Become Unavailable Though Shown

    Hello.
    This has also been posted in the Community: Adobe Muse Bugs forum.
    I've been having some odd/irregular issues though they have now become fairly predictable in nature. The issue is in regards to Adobe Muse (2014.3) and the availability of web fonts provided through the applications "Add Web Fonts" feature. Once added they perform as expected but then become "unavailable." Full details below. I have been a Creative Cloud Complete subscriber for a number of years so am fairly familiar with the way in which the system works minus a few issues that have popped up now and then, this one included.
    System Info:
    Adobe Creative Cloud (Full Subscription): Version 1.9.1.474
    Adobe Muse: Version 2014.3
    OS X Yosemite: 10.10.2
    Here is a recap of what has been taking place. I'll detail the bug as best I can.
    1. Created new Adobe Muse project. Everything normal.
    2. Chose to add a new font through the "Add Web Fonts" function within Muse. A note, my Creative Cloud App is running/open at all times (in file synch mode).
    3. Chose new fonts using above. All seemed fine (see screenshots below).
    4. Fonts also were indicated as being "Synched" within Creative Cloud (screenshot below).
    5. As expected the two fonts were added to the list of available Web Fonts within Muse (first screenshot below - left). I added them successfully to my site. Well after a number of hours I went back to this same font selection menu within Muse and the fonts were still visible yet the sub-menu that one would expect showing various forms (i.e. Bold, Italic, etc) was not available. In a sense the font could not be chosen from the list even though the name is clearly visible (second screenshot below - right).
    Have no idea what may have been wrong. Saved Muse project, closed and reopened - nothing changed. Created new project - fonts still "shown" in menu but can't be used. Did find a vague description using Google of similar problem (different application) which recommended closing Creative Cloud Desktop App and reopening as one possible solution. This DID WORK initially yet the problem, though corrected for a period of time (few hours at most), would reappear again where one would again see yet not be able to choose from the two Web Fonts. Went so far as to uninstalling the Creative Cloud Desktop application and reinstalling. Still have not solved the problem.
    Any thoughts as to what this may be would be welcome. Restarting the CC app each and every time the fonts become unavailable is quite time consuming to my workflow.
    Thanks!

    Abhishek,
    Thank you for the reply. Wanted to comment on a few things.
    I reviewed the other post that you've referenced. Nothing unusual jumped out at me as something that I was not aware of. I'm running an older iMac that is in good working condition. 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 24" screen. I know this issue is fleeting, as I stated earlier typically can be corrected with a restart of the CC Desktop application (that I am always running at startup). I have not been able to determine that shutting down Muse corrects the issue. I would, at this time say it doesn't.
    I did open InDesign and see if the fonts in question, Open Sans and Open Sans Condensed, were present and usable. They were. The fonts are shown as being synched in my CC Desktop app window (even if they are not "installed" in Muse). That is expected but it may be a bug in how Muse brings in a font from those that are already synched to your CC account. I don't know enough about how that works to comment.
    And just to complicate matters, Muse seems to be working again, the fonts that is. I brought them back in and they are showing up in all locations (which there are actually three - see screen shots).
    First is primary text menu dropdown (to right of orange "Text").
    Second is if you click orange Text link. Another drop down menu appears.
    And lastly, the Text Panel to right of screen.
    I also wanted to add this extra bit of information, for what it is worth. When the issue arises and you do not get the sub-menu dropdown showing various styles of the font (italics, bold, etc.), one can use click on the missing font if you had used it previously and it is present in the "previously used font" list.
    Cheers!

  • How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

    I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities.  As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable?  Have I missed something.
    As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family.  I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account.  So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac.  They do not appear in Muse.
    To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool.  However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it?  Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
    Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
    PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

    Hi David,
    I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts.  (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
    There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
    o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
    o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:
    TYPEKIT | Adding fonts to your site
    Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
    If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts#/?xHeight=high&contrast=low&class=sans-serif&width=re gular
    We are also working on a more complete integration of Typekit with Muse in the future, but I can't say yet when that will be available.
    >> PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.
    Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)?  It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:
    Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
    I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,

  • MUSE CC WON'T DISPLAY BEBAS NEUE WEB FONT IN DESIGN MODE

    For some reason I can't seem to view the Bebas Neue web font in design mode any more, yet when I switch to preview or even go ahead and publish my site it works just fine.
    It wasn't bothering me too much at first but it really confuses things after a while as I have to guess the sizes and spacing because the font that appears instead of Bebas Neue is Times New Roman (or similar).
    All the other web fonts are working just fine. I've tried to reset the web fonts and apply them again but had no luck, and I even closed and restarted Muse CC several times but again, nothing!

    Please refer to the following thread for a solution - http://forums.adobe.com/message/6259161.

  • Urgent: Web Service from Function Module

    Hi guys, I am new to this area so please help to achieve following:
    I want to show a demo to load data from a web service to BI. I have performed the following steps and don’t know how to process further. Please help me in the sense where do I put the logic to show fields on the web service and ….
    1. I have created a web service data source in BI with four fields (Cal dat, material, amount and currency)
    2. This created a Web Service /RFC FM automatically.
    3. From this FM I created a web service (Utilities – create web service – from function module)
    4. I followed the web service creation wizard.
    Thanks,
    sam

    releasing and related steps are fine,
    what i want to know is, BW/BI datasource will create a FM, from this FM inturn I will create a webservice.
    Lets say BW/BI datasource has 4 fields account, company, amount & currency.
    I want to enter these 4 values from the webservice which will bring these values to BW delta queue and eventually get loaded in BW.
    For this process do I need to code anything in the FM or any other part of the system

  • Designing with web fonts | Learn Dreamweaver CS6 | Adobe TV

    Web fonts have become an important part of many web designers' workflows. Dreamweaver CS6 adds support for web fonts through the new Web Fonts Manager. See how to use the Web Fonts Manager to add, manage, and apply web fonts throughout your sites.
    http://adobe.ly/IUFnwR

    I've been wondering for ages why DW doesn't just show my web fonts in Design View, and now I'm none the wiser. Why doesn't Design View look at your fonts (not your system fonts, your folder fonts) and display them?
    With Font Squirrel you don't even need to / or shouldn't even need to go through that rather bizarre "global" Web Fonts dialog. DW should just look at your fonts folder and work out it needs to display the fonts.
    I'd give this first generation attempt 1/10.

  • Animate: two animations -- web font not applied in 2nd animation in IE

    Hello,
    Edge animate has another problem:
    -- 2 animations are on the same webpage
    -- both animations are using the same webfont Vera Sans which is available in Dream Weaver and Animate
    -- If only one animation is placed on a webpage, the webfont Vera Sans will be applied.
    -- If both animations are on the same webpage (directly placed below the first, no extra CSS applied), the second animation is not displaying the web font, it is displaying a default font. This problem occurs in IE and is not visible in Chrome / Safari.
    If I change the order, it is still the first placed animation inside the HTML which works perfectly and the second is loosing the web font. What might be wrong here?
    Here a sample how to reproduce the error:
    1. Create a new Edge Animate project like Test_M_3
    2. Insert a new text object (width: 400px, height: 200px) and enter the following text: Test Man Errata PolyQ Zentauri Salut
    3. Set the text style by adding a web font "Vera Sans" only.
    4. Save your animation and publish using the Animate publishing package option.
    5. Open Dreamweaver , create two DIV boxes and insert the edge animation in each DIV box.
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="utf-8">
    <title>Test Teaser</title>
    <body>
    <div>
      <object id="EdgeID" type="text/html" width="570" height="420" data-dw-widget="Edge" data="../<your directory>/edgeanimate_assets/Test_M_3/Assets/Test_M_3.html">
      </object>
    </div>
    <div>
    <object id="EdgeID2" type="text/html" width="570" height="420" data-dw-widget="Edge" data="../<your directory>/edgeanimate_assets/Test_M_3/Assets/Test_M_3.html">
      </object>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    6. Save your HTML file and open it in IE 11.
    The first DIV box is containing the animation with web font Vera Sans, the second DIV contains the animation with a default font. This is what I don't expect.
    This situation will not change if you save the animation a second time with a different name and use different names for the text object inside Animate.
    Yours
    Stephan

    If its working fine on a server and not when opened via a file browser mostly points to some security errors.

  • How to make a news module?

    Hello,
    I'd like to add a news module to the website I'm making and I've really got no clue about how to do this... so if anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd be great!
    What I'd like is:
    A news column on my Home page. The news would appear with a time stamp and the content would be truncated.
    Example:
    2009-06-11: User group meeting in London
    The annual group meeting this year was held in...
    2009-04-09: New model release
    The version 4.2 of the software AAA is...
    The user could click on each news on the Home page and be redirected to the full article, hosted on the News page. All recent articles would be listed there, with full content, images, etc.
    Ideally, in order to keep the News page to a decent size, "old" news would "automatically" be moved somewhere else, either another page (News Archives) or something else (?).
    So far, I only know (a bit of) HTML and CSS, the rest is still a total mystery to me.
    I'd be grateful for any comment on this!
    Emilie

  • Doing news module that uses Entities and VOs in a dynamic way

    Hi dears,
    I'm developing a Web Center Application with JDev 11.1.1.6.0. And I'm trying a make a news module that can be controlled by an admin with the interaction of database.
    In the main page, there's a JQuery and has 5 titles, bodies and pictures. It's changes in 5 seconds.
    I have News table in my database and I created the EO and VOs of News. Now I'm locked in a situation. I want to show the news one by one in JQ frames.
    I mean
    First News -> RowID % 5 == 1
    Second News -> RowID %5 == 2
    ... (From the same EO)
    If I change the SQL Query of EO, this effects all of them always it brings me the 1st news for example. How can i do that? Does ADF allow me to do that?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Edge Web Fonts not loading properly

    I've been having trouble with the Adobe Edge Web Fonts loading within the past few days. Using four different ones, sometimes a couple but not all load at this point, and sometimes none. So not sure what the issue could be because it looks to be happening on different files and on different computers as well. Any suggestions?

    Okay, so it seems like i can reproduce it on new files. The problem occurs from selecting certain fonts. Bangers is one i was using and seems to have issues after selecting. In the add font box, after selecting it, other fonts no longer become available and fall back to the default ones. So trying this on two different computers with a new file can mean it is either a web font issue, or some odd occurence my internet connection is causing. Any help is appreciated.

  • Many Edge Web Fonts not displaying properly, help ?!!!

    From this morning, and for the second time in only 10 days, some web fonts in our Edge projects aren't displaying properly anymore !
    We're having issues with Maiden Orange, Italianna or even Amatic but when i go on https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/ at least 75% of the fonts previews are wrong and shows default ones on Safari, Chrome or even Firefox : WTF ?
    So it's clearly coming from Adobe's font service, and i hope that they will solve it ASAP cause it's a huge thing for us and our clients !

  • Dreamweaver Help | Add Edge and Web fonts to the Font list | Creative Cloud

    This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/typekit-font-support.html

    Hi Oyvay,
    Assuming you are talking about the standard Font-Stacks (Font-Family options shipped with Dreamweaver by default), they are available under the "Custom Font Stacks" tab available under "Manage Fonts" dialog.  You can access this dialog by selecting "Manage Fonts..." option listed in the Font-Family drop-down combos in any of the following dialogs:
    1)  Properties Panel,
    2)  CSS Styles Panel,
    3)  Page Properties dialog,
    4)  New / Edit CSS rule definition dialog.
    Alternatively, you can use the "Modify -->  Manage Fonts..." menu option from Dreamweaver's main menu also.
    The older font-stacks that were available default have been replaced with a latest and updated set of fonts.  The older options - Arial, Verdana, ... are outdated.  Your existing pages created with earlier versions would still function the same but the pages created from now on can use the updated fonts set.
    You can go through the below article for further information on the Adobe Edge Web Fonts integration with Dreamweaver.  And in case you have any more queries, please do post back.  Thanks..

  • Web Fonts Missing: URGENT

    URGENT: I just updated muse and now my preview doesn't show the web fonts. Looks good in design. I'm scared to death to publish as my site would be completely destroyed if it looks like the preview. When I went to see if I could update the web fonts they were all checked correctly but a message said that they previews were not available. What happens if I publish? I have to board a plane from Sydney Australia to the US shortly. Please help fast. My web site must be updated with new contact info. Thanks, Rick

    I don't use Extensis Suitcase, however, after the Muse upgrade, when I was in Australia, it didn't work. Later, they did, so it all seems OK now.
    Best,

  • If I use a web font in my website can I use the same font for printed materials such as business car

    I am a graphic designer intending to design a portfolio website in Adobe Muse. I plan to use TypeKit web fonts to design my website. Upon completioin of the website I intend to design business cards and my resume to match the look of my website. I would like to use the same fonts as I used on the website. Is it possible to use web fonts for printing purposes? If not, what do people typically do in this situation. The last thing I want to do is use a font that "looks" like the ones used on my website.

    Hi redsoxfan15b,
    (I think I may have replied to your Typekit Support ticket earlier today, but I will post the same information here to be certain.)
    We have recently added a new feature to Typekit that allows you to sync fonts to your desktop and use them in print design. The announcement on our website has more information:
    http://blog.typekit.com/2014/01/16/the-fonts-you-love-from-typekit-now-on-your-desktop/
    Font sync is available on any Typekit Portfolio, Performance, or Business plan.  Here is a list of all the font available for desktop use:
    https://typekit.com/fonts?licenses=desktop
    We are continuing to license more of the library for desktop use, but for now you should confirm that the font you would like to use it available for both web and desktop.  And if there is a font you'd like to use that isn't available for desktop sync, you may also be able to purchase a license directly from the foundry.
    I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions!  Best,

  • Garamond web font

    Why is Garamond no longer supported as a Web font? I used it in Muse Beta throughout an entire site, and now in Muse 1.0 it has been dropped from the Web Fonts list.

    I'm stealing this from our Muse PM, Dani:
    We re-evaluated out original list of web-safe fonts and found that some font stacks were not truly universal, so we decided to limit the list to those font stacks whose availability across devices we have much higher confidence in. When you use Muse you can now be sure that text set in one of these fonts will behave reasonably consistently across devices and browsers.
    Existing Muse sites using one of the dropped web-safe fonts will continue to work and will export the same code as before, but Muse will not show the font in design mode.
    Here's the original list of web safe fonts -- those in blue will remain:
    'Arial, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, sans-serif',
    'Baskerville, Georgia, Cambria, Times, Times New Roman, serif',
    'Cambria, Georgia, Times, Times New Roman, serif',
    'Century Gothic, Apple Gothic, sans-serif',
    'Comic Sans, Comic Sans MS, cursive',
    'Consolas, Lucida Console, Monaco, monospace',
    'Courier New, Courier, monospace',
    'Franklin Gothic Medium, Arial Narrow, Arial, sans-serif',
    'Futura, Century Gothic, AppleGothic, sans-serif',
    'Garamond, Hoefler Text, Palatino, Palatino Linotype, serif',
    'Geneva, Verdana, Lucida Sans, Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif',
    'Georgia, Palatino, Palatino Linotype, Times, Times New Roman, serif',
    'Gill Sans, Gill Sans MT, Calibri, Trebuchet, sans-serif',
    'Helvetica, Helvetica Neue, Arial, sans-serif',
    'Lucida Sans, Lucida Grande, Lucida Sans Unicode, sans-serif',
    'Palatino, Palatino Linotype, Georgia, Times, Times New Roman, serif',
    'Times, Times New Roman, Georgia, serif',
    'Trebuchet, Trebuchet MS, Tahoma, Arial, sans-serif',
    'Verdana, Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif'
    As stated, after evaluation of existing font support, we decided to trim the list a little to ensure we had as much support as possible for everything in our list.
    If you're looking for a new font to use instead, you can always try out one of the nice new Typekit fonts
