Web galleries are suddenly overexposed

I've been happily making web galleries for many months using Lightroom's web module -- and they looked great! The web gallery images appeared exactly the same in terms of color, saturation, contrast and brightness as they appeared in the Develop module. But suddenly, about two weeks ago, every new web gallery that I made appeared slightly over-exposed.
I mean that I'd tweak all the images to my satisfaction in the Develop module, but when I made the web gallery, all the images in the gallery appeared slightly but noticeably too light.
Switching back to the Develop or to the Library module, all the images looked perfectly correct -- but again going to the Web module and to the finished web gallery, they looked too light.
What's causing this?
Is there sone control or preference I need to change?  Or has the web module somehow become corrupt?
In any case, how can I fix this?
I depend on web galleries to show my clients their pictures. I put a lot of effort into tweaking the images just-so in the Develop module, and I desperately want to get accurate web galleries again!

same exact problem. my new wedding photos are/were all up there for everyone to see. sent the link in an e-mail to many.
meanwhile "poof" the whole gallery is gone!!!
great. the gallery now ***** as bad as iweb publishing. I just wish there was a "reset my idisk to working state" button on iphoto and iweb. i still can't get even one album up.
meanwhile e-mails are rolling in "Hey... the link doesn't work, genius."
.Mac users should get a free six months for what we've already put up with over the last year. If this Gallery problem isn't fixed VERY soon, I'll be forced to post my wedding photos somewhere else, and will eventually migrate from the dying beast that is .Mac altogether.
It's a shame. This is FAR from the "Mac experience" I paid for.
Apple, please put down the phone and fix this mess. I appreciate the new Gallery etc, but now that I reply on it, I expect it to work. I do pay for all this after all.
.Mac is 80% cool, but 30% functional. My membership is up for renewal soon and I'm losing my patience with spending good money on such a fragile service.
Here's hoping Apple is somehow going to improve .Mac functionality and usabilty. So far these seem to be Beta 0.1 features.

  • Web galleries are gone.

I noticed the other day my web gallery was not showing on my webisite. There is just the message: "The album is not available, Back to web gallery" clicking "back to web gallery" just brings up the same exact message. So I opened iPhoto and all my web galleries are gone there too! I tried to make a new one and nothing happened. No error messages, nothing. I tried to publish a movie via imovie, it acted as if everything was great, when I clicked "visit site now" I got a "we are sorry looking for something on .mac?"
I can't believe this. I have turned so many people onto the mac lately and in the last year I have had more "windows moments" like these than ever since owning a mac.

  • Title photos of web galleries are not changeable?

    Dear everybody,
I've been trying to change the "title photo" of some of my web galleries - that is the picture a viewer sees first when entering the gallery overview. Simply putting the desired picture in first place via iphoto doesn't do the job. Do you think it is necessary to create a new gallery each time I want to change the title photo?
    Help and ideas appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.
    Keywan

Open iPhoto's preferences and go to the Web Gallery section. There you can change the overall name of the Web Gallery Title that is seen online.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Google search, gmail, most web pages are suddenly much smaller - Why?

Suddenly, almost all web pages are now smaller. I have not changed monitors or reset the resolution on my monitor. I use the "control +" but the size reverts if I move off the original page. I cannot read most of the Google search results. I am having to resize every page I come to.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems, make sure that the window is not maximized:

  • Color management of web galleries

When I export web galleries the color of the photos shifts to the red. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this?

    Bill,
I'm having the same problem.  My exported web galleries are all shifted to the red.
    Here's an example: http://venture-multimedia.com/photoshoots/jim/index.html
The guy looks like he has a sunburn.  In lightroom he looks fine.  I checked on two diff computers and the web gallery looks red on both, yet in lightroom it looks fine.
Just switched to Windows 7 and I'm wondering if that has somthing to do with it.
    Suggestions please?!?!?!

  • Accessing Aperture Web Galleries through the iPhone

Is there a way of getting my aperture web galleries to show up on my iPhone? The only web galleries that show up are those I created with iPhoto.

I assume you are syncing your photos to your phone through iTunes, and you have figured out that you have to choose Aperture to sync with. But when you choose Selected Albums, you also noticed that your Web Galleries are missing from the menu. I suppose this is because Web Galleries are not Albums. You would have to create albums of those web galleries in order to selectively sync them to your phone. This doesn't require any more disk space of course so there is no worries there, it just means that now you'll have an Album, and a Gallery of the same images. That's kind of lame. Apple should allow us to sync the iPhone to Web Galleries as well as albums.

  • How can I add captions to CS4 Web Galleries?

I need to create an image slideshow on a website, something I have never done before, and Bridge CS4 seems to offer a useful selection of Web Galleries. However, the standard Web Galleries only seem to display the filename (whether you like it or not) and do not appear to offer any captioning facility.
Am I missing something? Without the ability to add my choice of multiline captions, the Bridge Web Galleries are not much use to me. If there is no way to modify these galleries to add captions can anyone suggest an alternative solution, ideally at zero or minimal cost?
    David

    David,
The caption options in the Bridge web gallery feature are limited. You can specify titles, captions, and descriptions that appear on every page of a gallery, and you can choose to display filenames, cell numbers, or all metadata for individual images in some templates. Otherwise, the templates do not display unique captions with individual images. Documentation is at
Create a web photo gallery with Adobe Output Module.
The web photo gallery feature from Photoshop CS3 is now an optional plugin for CS4. I believe some of those templates have some additional caption options. You can find out about downloading and using the optional plugin at
    Creating web photo galleries.

  • Web Galleries from before MobileMe missing from iPhoto

All of my web galleries from before the MobileMe upgrade are missing from the iPhoto left panel. They all show up online at gallery.mac.com and gallery.me.com and in iPhoto under Preferences>Web Gallery>"Albums you published as. The one gallery created after the MobileMe upgrade does show up in iPhoto left panel. Can I re-sync the galleries? or is this a bug?

All of my galleries that existed before the changeover are still in my library. Must be something other than just a changeover issue. Look in the iPhoto/Web Gallery preferences to see if they are still listed there.
Do you still have the albums you used to create the galleries? You might have to recreate and republish them with the same gallery name.
Do you have a backup copy of the library or of the library's database file, Library6.iPhoto?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. • Multiple Libraries and Web Galleries

I just upgraded to iLife 08 and I'm wondering if the web gallery feature is compatible with the web galleries feature.
Here's my situation: I have several three primary iPhoto libraries: one of family pix, one of photos from Congo, related to my aunt and uncle's mission work (which I use for their website), and one related to the ministry of my husband's church. I have one .mac account.
If possible, I want to create web galleries using two of these iPhoto libraries, but I'm worried that when I "publish" galleries from the Congo library that the galleries I previously published from my family library will be erased from my iDisk. I searched the forums but I didn't find any discussion of this. Does anyone else have any experience in this regard?
    Thanks,
    kabing

    kabing:
Web galleries published from different libraries will not remove previously published galleries. Just make sure the gallery names are not the same.

  • "Tell a friend" email for web galleries- black on black for PC users

Whenever I send out an email to friends with info for a web gallery, everyone who uses a PC (most everyone I know) gets the email and the text is black on a black background and they can't read it. I have to add text to the email with the username and password. When I cc myself on the email and get it on my Mac, it's white text on black background.
What's going on here? It's been this way for 4 web galleries so far.

    Dave:
Try using the Tell a Friend option in iPhoto's toolbar instead of the option of the online gallery. It will look like this except I've changed the font and color of the lower URL line which you can do with this method.

  • Can I have two Web Galleries?

Simple question: Can I have two Web Galleries? (Not albums within one Gallery, but separate Galleries?)

There is a Flickr plugin for iPhoto I believe. FlickrExport for iPhoto 2.0.15 - MacUpdate. That should be fairly easy.

  • What Can I do with Web Galleries?

    Hi.
I want to use web galleries, but for different purposes. Say some for business, some personal, some for discussion boards. If I have one .mac account do they all end up in one gallery? If so, is there a way to prevent that? I don't want the business guys seeing my home galleries, and vice versa...
    -Scott

    Scott:
You can password protect the home galleries with a user name and password and give it out only to those you want to have access.
For the business you might consider another .Mac account, a deductible expense, and put the galleries there as well as any web page you might create for the business.
    Do you Twango?

  • Web Galleries Bug

After playing around with the new slimbox template suddenly after restarting lighroom, all templates in the web galleries folder don't show up in the gallery list.
The folder is still there and all templates are in this folder.
    My System XP SP2
    What I've done so far:
    - restart LR many times
    - restart windows
-deleted the web galleries folder and created a new one with the templates in it
    - made a repair install of lightroom
-copied a saved preferences file from a few hours ago to the preferences location
But nothing helps. In the list there are only the default LR HTML Gallery and LR Flash Gallery.
I don't know what to do else...
Unfortunately the slimbox gallery is the first lightroom gallery I like and now I can't use it.
This is the first serious bug on my pc with lightroom.
I hope here is someone who can help me to fix it.
    Juergen

    Ok, I found the mistake.
Before this happened I changed the image size in the script with Microsoft XML-Notepad. This broke something else in the gallerymaker.xml because the file size was 3 KB smaller than before. I found it today after hard thinking, where the bug can be.
For me it looks like, that lightroom ignores the complete web galleries folder, if there is only ONE script with a mistake in it. I had another template in it's own subfolder and it too wasn't visible after that.
DON'T USE Microsoft XLM-Notepad! I couldn't find out, what exactly it changed but it caused this strange bug.

  • Can I organise Web Galleries into folders?

I keep my photos organised in folders. Can I do the same with the web galleries?
I have a long list of Web Galleries in the sidebar of iPhoto and it's tedios scrolling down a long way to find the one I want to edit. I tried creating a folder but it only appears in the photos section.

No, only the albums you used to create the web galleries (that is if you first put the photos in albums before creating the gallery).
