Web Gallery and misalignment of images

I am trying to create a web gallery, been awhile since I last did one, and the thumbnails are all pushed to the right hand side of the page. In Aperture they are shown aligned below the page title but once exported and viewed in Safari or Firefox they are misaligned. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Scott

if you resize your browser window, they will snap right back into place ...
this is a little flaw i have noticed with the galleries too ...
if my browser window is the full size of one of my screens it pushes the thumbs to the right with the default - builtin - web themes ... with my own themes it no longer does this, to the best of my knowledge ...

  • Web Gallery and photo Info

I just took some photos with my Canon 40D. I imported then directly into Aperture 2.0. After adding some to a Web gallery and publishing I viewed the info by pressing . It is missing most of the information that I would want to see.
There is no shutter, aperture, ISO, etc information.
Is there something special that needs to be done to display this information.

There seams to be a minor bug or maybe an intentional feature here. When you create a web album you will have the option to upload large JPEG versions of your images. If you select only to upload medium size JPEGs then Aperture will not include EXIF or IPTC data into those medium JPEGs.
If you in the web album settings window go to "Allow: Downloading of: " and check that with any of the three option (Optimized Images/Actual Size Images/Masters and Optimized Images) then Aperture will generate larger JPEGs that includes EXIF and IPTC data.
Upload time will be a lot longer since these files are a lot larger than the medium size JPEGs.
It might be better if Aperture had a check box where you could decide to include or exclude these metadata.

  • .mac web gallery and iPhoto '08 movies, which format?

Hi Folks, I ran into a problem over the weekend working on a movie project. As you might have read in the forums, there is no way to load up a movie to .mac web gallery with password protection. The suggested workaround by Apple is to import your movie into iPhoto '08 and then load it up into the .mac web gallery and apply the password protection offered by iPhoto.
But here comes the kicker, when I export movies out of iMovie '08 they have the .m4v extension, and iPhoto refuses them into it's library. So what kind of extensions of format should a export the movies to, for them to be imported into iPhoto. All help and support is welcome and appriciated!
    Cheers, CC

Seeing as iTunes store video is m4v format I bet someone writing iTunes thought we'd better not allow anyone to add iTunes store material to an iPhoto library, so all .m4v files are locked out.
Just tested this and exported a short .m4v and as you say when you try to import the .m4v file is greyed out.
    I think this'll work:
Under Share choose Export using Quicktime
    I chose
Movie to Quicktime Movie then selected Options tab
    Choose Quicktime to mov
Use an h264 codec with AAC.
I can certainly import that .mov to iPhoto - and create a web gallery - my uploading is very slow and everything is 'pending' at present but i thinks it's slowly going there!

  • Numbers in web gallery and resource image folders do not match

When I create a web gallery in Bridge, the numbers in the resource image folders, (Large, medium, thumbnail) do not match the name and numbers in the gallery and are completely out of order. The numbers are long and random.  My client is trying to email the small files and cannot locate them easily.
I have never had this problem before....can you help?
    Thanks!!!

Thanks Think, I've tried that. The strange thing is when I
open the page in Contribute, it shows the original image. When I
click Edit page, the image I want on the page is on the page. Not
sure what I've done. Pages were originally created in Microsoft
2007 and uploaded to the web. I am using Contribute to edit, it
seemed like it would be much easier to edit pages.

  • Web Gallery and Client Feedback

    Hello,
I'm using the Web Gallery in Bridge to quickly upload images to my clients and have them choose which ones they want.  The problem I'm having is that they view the image, then have to write the numbers/names down for each, then either write it down again in an email or call me.  It would be much easier to have a solution where the client highlights each image they want,(or write comments/questions) and then presses a button (in the gallery) that would either send me an email or something telling me what they want, thus automating the process.
Is there a way to do this, or has it already been done?  I'm searching with no luck so far.  Thanks!

    Victoria,
I would argue that a relatively high percentage of professional photographers would like to have this feature to be able to get feedback from clients. I don't agree that it would be generally considered bloat. Among commercial photographers, photo-journalists, and probably wedding photographers I would argue that the ability to create a web gallery that facilitates feedback from a client, or an editor's desk, has a greater level of value than does having 20 different gallery layouts with various transitions between slides, and cozy color palettes. I do see the value of that variety, but I'd like to see a little more utility also.
Even Photoshop, up to version CS3, had the ability to make a gallery with feedback option. Each image in the gallery had a text box that essentially acted like a Submit button. All comments a viewer made were compiled in an email and the comments were tagged with the image number/name. The gallery was cramped and ugly, but the feature was very useful.
While the TTG Client Response Gallery plug-in looks like it fits the bill, it also requires more of a learning curve than I would like. It also requires making sure my ISP has the correct version of PHP and the correct type of Apache server – certainly more than a basic HTML solution.

  • Align title in bridge web gallery, change font of image names.

I have a web gallery that was created in Adobe Bridge (slide show template).  I have most of the customization done that I want.... except for 2 issues:
    1.  I would like the gallery title to be right aligned rather than the default left.  I have, in the past accomplished this... but for the life of me, I can't figure out how I did it now!  Any help would be appreciated.
    2.  I have given the images names.... how do I change the font color of these image names that appear?
    Thanks!  Any help is appreciated.

I haven't used the Bridge galley, but my first guess would be dig into the gallery's CSS. It's either in a CSS doc or in the head of the gallery pages, but it's sure to be in CSS somewhere.  This would be for colors and font anyway,,, I don't know if Bridge formats wilt CSS or tables, you just have to open the documents in Dreamweaver to see.

  • Photoshop Web Gallery and Dreamweaver

I created a web gallery in photoshop 9 and i'm trying to edit
in Dreamweaver but the message that appears is: "You must enable
Javascript to view this content."... where should i do this? i
downloaded the Java programa from Sun but it seems not to work.
    what should i do?

    Cheryl,
Could you post a link?  That's always helpful.
If you are using Photoshop to create the web gallery, you don't have to worry about sizing your images or Save For Web, etc.  Photoshop will do all of that for you when it builds the web gallery.  You do need to crop the images as necessary, but don't downsize anything -- just leave your original RAW, JPG or TIFF files at their original size and PS will do the rest.
I assume that in PS you are using File > Automate > Web Photo Gallery and setting all of the various parameters... yes?  In the Web Photo Gallery dialog, Options > Large Images > Output, what setting are you using for JPEG Quality?  Try Maximum (10) and see if that helps how your images look.

  • Web gallery synchronisation uploads all images each time.

It is just me, or is web gallery synchronisation clunky ? It seems to upload ALL images whenever a change is made (e.g., if I add an image to a web gallery, it uploads all of them again).
    Paul

I wonder if an upload is taking place. I see it taking much less time. I believe that the file is being checked for changes, and if the file is unchanged, then Aperture moves on to the next file. This is only a guess, but seems like a reasonable explanation.
For my part, I made synchronization manual. With an old mini, it is cumbersome to wait for sync everyday. Hope this helps.

  • Web Gallery and Color Space

    Hi,
Is there any way to change the color space of the Web Galleries made by Aperture from Adobe-RGB to sRGB without exporting the photos separate first.
I'm also missing an adjustment option to set the image quality in the Web Gallery.
    Regards,

I am slightly confused by what you said...
without exporting the photos separate first.
Do you mean change to sRGB while still in Aperture? The answer would be no. The images get changed to sRGB on export. However, you do not have to export the images separately from the gallery. When you create the gallery, the images and html get created all together. So, what you do is change the export presets you are using for the web to have sRGB in the color space profile.

  • Web Gallery and iWeb

There is a template in iWeb for albums, but not one for iPhoto Web Galleries. You can use the insert .mac web gallery option to get a web gallery onto a page, but is there a way to use the cool album template instead?
It seems so odd that there isn't better integration between Web Galleries and iWeb templates.

Yeah, I'm noticing this, too. Seems a bit of crap work, if you ask me.
I'm kind of unimpressed with the new iWeb. A few "widgets" isn't really all that neat, and I'm shocked they didn't include some sort of iphone theme (like a theme best viewed on an iphone.)
But this gallery thing is the most irritating.

  • Allowing customer to select their picks from a web gallery and creating a new Collection.

I would like to be able to send my customer with a link to web gallery with my first picks of the photo shooting for their selection.
Customer would be able to select, from the web gallery their favorites.
The service /plugin should be able to then, send me some sort of information that would allow me to automate the creation of another Collection only with their picks in LighRoom 4.
I am using juicebox and love it, but I could not find a way to do this. Any suggestions?

  • Web Gallery and Album pics in sync?

Is there some way to have pictures on my web gallery synced with an album page in iWeb (so I dont take up twice the amount of space)?

No. They are two separate entities and operate independently.

  • Web Gallery and iPhone Not Working

I'm getting the following message when attempting to use the "send to web gallery" button:
"None of your .Mac accounts have been configured for posting from mobile devices. You must first enable this feature on the .Mac website."
Others have been experiencing this as well, but I have yet to hear a solution.
I have my .mac email account associated with my iPhone and I have created a Web Gallery via .Mac using iPhoto '08.
Has anyone got this button to work successfully on their iPhone?

.Mac email can be set up two different ways on the iPhone. For "Send to Web Gallery" button to appear when clicking on the action button while viewing a photo, you must have your .Mac email set up as IMAP. This is the default setup for a .Mac email account.
If you take the time to manually set up your .Mac email as POP, then you will not have the "Send to Web Gallery" option and you will be unable to successfully email into your web gallery even if all else is set up correctly.
To check to see how you have .Mac email set up on your iPhone, go to the Home Screen, tap Settings, tap Mail, tap your .Mac account name, tap Advanced, move down on the page, and make sure you see "IMAP Path Prefix" setting (it can be blank and does not need to be changed). If the "IMAP Path Prefix" is there, then you do indeed have your .Mac email set up as IMAP on your iPhone.
If you do have it set up as a POP account, you can delete that mail account by selecting the red Delete Account button when viewing your email account as listed in Settings.
To add your .Mac email account as an IMAP account, from the Home Screen, tap Settings, tap Mail, tap Add Account..., tap .Mac, and fill out the fields with your information, tap Save and it will verify access to your .Mac email account.

  • Is there a way to create a web gallery which generates watermarked images in Photoshop CC?

    Your Case Number:0184430495
Adobe informed me that web gallery creation is no longer available in Bridge CC.  I was told to download Lightroom for this capability.  When I tried to do that, I was told that my operating system 10.6.8 is not compatible.  I use 10.6.8 to use third party software.  Will Adobe return this feature to Bridge?  If so, please add a watermark feature (such as the one that Dr. Russell Brown created for CS6)  Also, please include more html5 galleries or galleries that will appear on multiple kinds of devices.  Thank you.

  • Web gallery, only allows 10 images

My problem is that the gallery only loads 10 out of 20 images. They're all JPEGs and have been resized. I have all 20 highlighted yet it only
    acknowledges 10. Any suggestions?

That is perfectly normal and expected behavior.
There are many existing threads on this in the forum.  Please search.
In a nutshell, the Preview only shows 10 images, but all your selected images will be included in the final output.
