Web Gallery Data preset?

Is it possible to preset the data for the web gallery fields? I realise there is a drop down for previously used terms, but it would be faster if I could save settings that will apply to every gallery (eg. contact name, mailto, web address etc.)

After you have everything set as you like it, click "Add" under "Template Browser" and give your new template a name. Ckicking on that will bring back all of your preset data each time you want to create a new gallery.

Flash (Photoshop) Web Gallery data

I have created a web gallery using Photoshop CS2 to allow my
clients to proof their images. From this gallery I want to allow
them to flag images they like then submit the selections to me via
email. Currently they are using the gallery just to view the
images. There is not a way to mark the images or to submit them via
email. The clients have to manually write down the file names, type
and email, and send it to me.
1. Can the function of selection boxes be added to the web
gallery? I do not own the full flash program.
2. Can the file names for the selected images be put into an
email to me using a submit button?

1) Yes it can but you will need to modify the flash movie so
*someone* will need to know how to change the flash movie.
2) Yes this is possible but you'll either need your flash
movie to talk to the server and have the server send the email or
figure out how to get Flash to use the client's mail program. They

Bridge CS4 Web Galleries - Adding New Web Gallery Presets

Hi. How can i import new web gallery presets into Bridge CS4, for example from lightroomgalleries co? Im on a French Win XP and Photoshop CS4. I know i have to create a folder within Common Files/Adobe/Bridge CS4 Extensions/Adobe output Module/mediagallery/resources/templates/. If i see it right, i have to create another styles folder within that? I manage Bridge CS4 to offer the imported preset in the presets menu, but the results look generic, not like what the preset should do according to the description on the web site. So what can i do?
Are there other sources for other gallery presets?
I would also like to know how to set the name that the Presets menu uses. Ive seen this .dat file which seems to control the names for the menu, but wasnt able to change the name appearing in the menu.
For that, I had copied a complete style like 03filmstrip, changed the xml files and renamed the folder to 09filmstripVariant. Thus it appeared with the original name, but at position 9 in the menu. I didnt find out how to make it appear with a new name.
In these names for Bridge gallery presets, are there certain characters i must avoid like underscore, minus or blank?

Hi all It is still possible to create webgalleries and contactsheets in CS4, but you have to copy some files and folders from a folder called Goodies which you can find on you install disk or download as extras from Adobe.com. In the "...Goodies\Optional plug-ins" folder there is a OptionalPluginsReadMe.pdf where they among other things write: "1. From the Photoshop CS4 install disc, drop the //<language>/Goodies/Optional plug- Ins/Automate/WebContactSheetII plug-in into the //Adobe Photoshop CS4/Plugins/ Automate folder 2. From the Photoshop CS4 install disc, drop the //<language>/Goodies/Presets/Web Photo Gallery folder into the //Adobe Photoshop CS4/Presets folder and then restart Photoshop."

Can I use CSS with PS Web Gallery Preset?

Using DW CS4. I wanted to create a web gallery with captions under the thumbnail images. I could not get captions to show up using the workspace output tool in Bridge, so I used the web gallery plug-in and preset in Photoshop. The doc title and description from the metadata shows up with each thumbnail and large photo, which is what I wanted. I added an Iframe to make the gallery show up in my web page layout with all the links I wanted, and I re-wrote part of the preset html to eliminate some of the extra preset gallery text at the top of the gallery pages. I am using a transitional doc type.
It all worked out just fine and the pages are working as planned.
However, when I used DW to validate the gallery pages, the report showed errors because the font attributes for the gallery pages are controlled by html and not by CSS. There are two problems cited in the report:

In HTML 4.0, FONT is deprecated... consider using style sheets instead.
Questions: On the gallery pages generated by the PS plug-in and pre-set, is there a way to control font attributes with a style sheet instead of using the pre-existing html styling? Do I need to be concerned about the attributes being deprecated?

I used an iframe (as opposed to a frame) as suggested in an article by David Powers about embedding a gallery into a web page. He says the iframe is acceptable in html, and no problem with the iframe itself was indicated during validation, just the FONT attributes from the PS preset I used. In my current gallery, thumbnail captions appear from the metadata for each photograph. For each large image, both the title and the description come from the photo's metadata. This works well for my purpose, and I want to avoid re-entering each title and description. I guess my question could be better stated by asking if CSS can be added to the preset to apply to captions coming from the metadata of each photo.
Regarding the lightbox approach you suggest, I looked at the example and do not see captions under the thumbnails. Can captions be added to the thumbnail images? (It is essential that my thumbnails have captions.)
Customers need to see the name of each plant when they browse thumbnails in order to select items (daylily plants) of interest.
Because I am dealing with hundreds of photos and will need to update frequently, I am looking for a solution that is efficient and fairly easy to maintain. So far, the PS web gallery preset meets my needs better than anything else I have found, but I thought I'd try to find out if I should and can fix the FONT attribute validation problem.

Exif Data Not Showing Up in Web Gallery?!

Actually it is showing "max aperture" but not the actual aperture I shot at - I now can see shutter speed... but the aperture I used for the shots aren't showing up - either way, I had fun shooting the eclipse last night!

Web gallery is no longer date sorted?

Hopefully this should be an easy one for you to help me with...
- I have a web gallery via iPhoto '08 of my twins for all the relatives to see. If I look at the web gallery album in iPhoto, the photos are sorted in date order which I have selected to do so.
- However, if I access this gallery over the web the photos are not in date order, so now I have pictures of my little ones at 3 months, intermingled with photos of them at birth. All very confusing for the eager viewers.
How do I fix this so it will always be sorted by date?

Yes, there's a "quirk" in that. Here's how to get around it. Sort the gallery in iPhoto by date and then move one photo to another position and then back again. Hit the publish button and the online gallery should update to the order that's in iPhoto.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Meta data missing in Web Gallery

When uploading images to my web gallery Aperture generates small and medium size jpeg files of my images. These jpegs does not include meta data. Has anyone seen this too?
If I select to "Allow" "Downloading of:" (Optimized Images, Actual Size Images, Optimized & Master Images) then Aperture will generate large size jpegs that include meta data.
Can it be right that you have to upload and generate the larger optimized jpegs in order to show meta data in your web galleries?
I am running Aperture 2.0.1 and Leopard 10.5.2

Meta data & Exif data in MobilMe Web Gallery - where did it go?

I can't seem to get web gallery to publish the meta data with the photos. When you visit the web gallery website, clicking on the image thumbnail reveals options to click the "i" button which supposedly allows viewers to examine meta data & exif data.
I would be greatly appreciative if someone could confirm or disconfirm this issue for any web galleries they have created.

The only way that I get EXIF etc metadata to show up on the information page in web galleries is to enable downloading of images. This seems to do the trick in making the info page work. I have not tried disabling download in the settings, republishing, and seeing if the image metadata still displays. Just one more quirky thing about webgallery - what really stinks is there is no way to get Aperture to put downloadable images with an sRGB profile into a webgallery. Even if the original is an sRGB it converts the downloadable version to AdobeRGB.

I created a Web Photo Gallery in Adobe Bridge. I want to save my presets, cause I changed the background color etc? It this possible? Cause I want to use the same presets in the future.

I can save a web gallery preset in CS4 Bridge (by clicking on the icon next to the trash can under "Create Gallery," but can't figure out how to load it into CS5 Bridge. Any ideas where this preset is saved?

Web Gallery - Changing Exif data

I was setting up a web gallery and liked the EXIF example, however, it showed the Camera model (OK) but also the serial number which I don't want there. Is it possible to change this?

There is undocumented and
absolutely unsupported way of adding formatting information into the Text Template Editor that will allow you to add line breaks and make the text bold etc.
It uses the form:
<ag:formatted> </ag:formatted>
for line breaks and
<ag:formatted></ag:formatted>
for bold. Just place your text or token in between the 
What ever appears between the<ag:formatted> tags HAS to be VALID XML or it will simply break. That is why the br tag has the trailing / on the end. This is the equivalent of

Web gallery - disabled - my fault?

When I select 'Output' in Bridge CS4 nothing happens the right hand panel which, on my other system changes to Output, remains unchanged from whatever it was already set to. Now I must admit I made a change when first installing CS4. From the Goodies folder I installed several plugins one of which I thought was the Web Gallery plugin and did the following: 1. Install the Web Photo Gallery plug-in. 2. From the Photoshop CS4 install disc, drop the //<language>/Goodies/Presets/Scripts/Layer Comps To WPG.jsx file into the //Adobe Photoshop CS4/Presets/Scripts folder and overwrite the existing Layer Comps To WPG.jsx. As I didn't do this on my laptop where the web gallery functions normally, have I somehow prevented it from working and how do I rectify it. Thanks, NeilC

That looks strange. What you seen in the 'C:\Documents and Settings\[useraccount]\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS4 Extensions\Adobe Output Module' should be at this folder:
'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CS4 Extensions\Adobe Output Module'
Did you have this folder 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CS4 Extensions\Adobe Output Module' with the '5 folders:
adobeoutputmodule - AMT - contactsheet - medialgallery - resources + 2 files: AdobeOutputModule.jsx and IncludeHelper.jsxinc '.
If not, I would suggest you uninstall and re-install the application. it seems it didn't install to the right place. If you don't want to reinstall, please try following step:
a. move this folder 'C:\Documents and Settings\[useraccount]\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS4 Extensions\Adobe Output Module to
'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CS4 Extensions\Adobe Output Module'
b. reset and launch Bridge.

Missing Metadata in Web Gallery images exported from Aperture.

Images that I export directly to my .mac web gallery from aperture do not show any meta data on their info pages. In aperture the images have all meta data.
I have checked all the presets and all include metadata. There is no specific preset for web gallery I notice.
Has anyone else solved this?

I want to change all the metatdata in groups to copywrighted. I can not seem to do this. There could be a checkbox on or off when importing. This would be perfect for bringing in older copywrighted archives.

Problems Emailing to Web Gallery From Camera Phone

I have a Sony Ericcson camera phone that has a mail client which I have set up to use GMail for both incoming and outgoing mail. I can't seem to get Web Gallery to accept the picture emails I send from the phone. The only thing I can conclude is that the server accepting the emails has problems parsing the message. I can use my desktop computer to send the image to Web Gallery, so it's there's nothing wrong with the image itself. I've also tried configuring my phone to use an AT&T mail server to send the picture, but have the same problems, so it's not the mail servers. I've also sent a full sized image (2 megapixels) as well as a small version (640x480) to see if it's related to file size, but they fail as well. Interestingly enough, I can send videos that I take from my phone to Web Gallery and it gets posted, so I figure it's not the phone.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? I've included the failure notice email I get back from the Web Gallery mail servers below if it can help diagnose the problem. Thanks.

After many trial and errors, I figured out that the web gallery mail servers were choking because the filenames my phone gives photos have capital ".JPG" extensions. If I change them to lowercase, the pictures get posted. Unfortunately, I can't rename the files inside the phone and need to transfer them out to my mac via bluetooth before I can rename it. To solve the problem for myself, I created an email address on another hosted website that pipes mail to a script that rewrites the problematic portions before sending it to my web gallery. It's somewhat of a roundabout way of doing it, but it works for now.
Hopefully the web gallery mail servers will be corrected to handle this situation.

Unable to find Web Service Data Control in Menu

I am trying to call a web service from ADF. For that, I want to create a web service data control
As I understand, if I right click on the Model project, I should see the Web Service Data control under Business Tier > Web Services. (as shown in Sec 2.1 of -- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/1013/wsadf/adfcomplexwstypes.html#WsProxyPojoControl)
However, I am not able to find this entry in there.
I have tried the following things:
I have tried with Jdev 10.1.3.5, 10.1.3.4 and 10.1.3.1
I have tried selecting all the technology templates available for creating applications
- No Template
- Web Application [ JSF, EJB, Toplink]
- Web Application [ JSF, ADF]
- Web Application [ JSF, EJB
- Web Application [ JSF, Struts,ADF] ......and everthing else...
I still cant see the web service proxy.
I next opened the Sample ADFToystore application, and I could see the Web service Data control there !....that means my jdev is not faulty...something else is missing.
So I tried to see what all libraries are selected.... I saw that a library named 'Web Service Data Control' is there in the project, which is not there in the model project of applications I created. So I added this library to the project but still it did not work..
Next I added ALL libraries that I could see in the libraries section of Project Properties....still no luck
I am sure I am missing something basic. Can anybody please help.

Is there a way to create my own web gallery template for bridge?
I want to add custom data that is not in any of the templates.
Pretty much, I'd like to create one from scratch...

This was discontinuted in CS5 howerver you could migrate that plugin to CS5. I don`t know if you can do this with CS6.
To my knowledge they only provided a revised Contact sheet II script for CS6. In my opinion a very bad idea because they should have put all efforts and resources to enhance the Output Module PDF contact sheet that has far more options.
Still not using web galleries but the goal for web gallery was also to use this in the Adobe Output Module, maybe that provides you the options you want?
