Web gallery module - saved galleries disappear

LR 4.2, Windows 7 x64, i7, 16GB RAM
In the Library, I create a Collection.  In the Web module, I create a web gallery with the Collection.  When all the parameters are set, I click "Create Saved Web Gallery" (upper right corner).  I give the web gallery a unique name and save it.  The web gallery appears in the list of Collections, including the little 3x3-grid icon to the left of the name.  When I hover over the name, the little right-arrow appears to the right of the gallery name and if I click the arrow, LR switches to the Web module and displays the gallery for that collection.  This is how it should work.
Here's the problem:  After opening and closing LR several times after creating the web gallery, I have noticed in the list of Collections that the web gallery icon (3x3-grid) has changed into the regular Collection icon and the little right-arrow is gone.  The unique name I gave the web gallery is still there.  This has happened with several saved web galleries, although not all web galleries.  I am baffled by why it is happening intermittently.
Has anyone else noticed this problem?  A solution?
Thanks for any help.
John

FOLLOW-UP:
In trying to figure this out, I noticed that if I am in the Library and click on one of these web galleries that "lost" its 3x3-grid icon and the right-arrow, and then right-click on the gallery name, the last item in the context menu reads "Open Old Contextual Web Gallery."  If I select that, LR goes to the Web module and displays the gallery.  The option to "Create Saved Web Gallery" is at the top-right of the preview window.  If I click, name and save, then another gallery is correctly saved in the list of Collections, along with the 3x3-grid icon and right-arrow.  Since I just discovered this, I don't know if this newly saved gallery will remain.
Odd behavior.
Note:  I regularly Test Integrity and Optimize my catalog on exiting LR.

  • How can I email a saved watermarked photo in my web gallery without the watermark disappearing?

When I email a photo uploaded from my web gallery in Photoshop Lightroom, it disappears from the photo.  What am I not doing?  Thanks.

    Check your Export dialog:
Do you have it configured like this?

  • Web Gallery Shows ALL Galleries

Example - Lets say you publish a collection of 10 photos of your holiday snaps, just you and the wife, nothing rude mind, but maybe in your thing at the beach. If at a later time you then post some photos of work photos for your colleagues in the new Web Gallery, the viewer has the opportunity to click a link to go to your Master Gallery and view ALL your images, including you and the wife doing what ever. this can't be right?? Can it??

In iPhoto you can select a specific Web Gallery album and click the Settings button at the bottom left of the tool bar to configure the album to require a password.

  • Is there a way to send an email from the web gallery module

    Hi all,
does anyone know if there is a way to send an email from the webmodule, for example to send the link where the gallery was posted?
    Thanks for any help.
    Bart

I'm certainly not aware of any way, thus my post here (please cast a vote):

I don't know if you could get away with using LrHttp to open a mailto link.
The only other option I know is to send data to your web server and have it send SMTP.

  • Web gallery still not working.

The web gallery feature is still non-functional. I used to use it all the time. Suddenly a few days ago I noticed that it simply does not work anymore. I highlight and event, click web gallery, it creates a web gallery in the left sidebar of iphoto. The little progress circle turns for about 15 seconds, then suddenly the web gallery from the sidebar disappears and it as if I never clicked on the web gallery button. All my old we galleries are gone. I tried deleting iphoto prefs and deleting to _gallery folder from my idisk. No luck. When I try publishing a movie in iMovie to the web gallery, everything seems to proceed correctly. It compresses and uploads. The when I click the link provided, I get Apple's version of error 404: no such website.

    Ben:
See if you can upload a file, any type will do, to the Sites folder on your iDisk via the Finder. I had a similar problem. When I tried uploading a file to the Sites folder or any of its subfolders I would get an error message. I reported it to the iWeb and .Mac feedback sites. It went away for a while and then came back that same day and then went away. Apple did get back to me and checked my account. They reported all was well. If you do get an error you may have a similar to mine but one that's not correcting itself. Report you problems to:

    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Saving progress of web gallery generation when Uploading in Web Module

I have received an error a couple of times while uploading a web gallery to my server. When this happens (usually very late in the progress) it seems like the module has to START generating web content ALL OVER AGAIN. It would be great if Lightroom could save the content generated when encountering an error while performing an "Upload".
Lightroom 1.2, Mac OS 10.4.10, multiple CPUs

I couldn't agree more. This has happened to me a million times. I usually will upload some 400 photos or so for my client and it isn't until the very end sometimes that I will get me error. Then...it's start all over.

  • Auto generate a web gallery index page in web module for output multiple galleries

As an extension of a Web Gallery, it should be possible to create an entire gallery page with sub galleries in Lightroom. it will be great if it is also template based.

    See
The Turning Gate for a template that does that.

  • Low quality images in web gallery from Output Module

So when I create a web gallery slideshow using the output module I get SUPER-low quality images, like big jagged, pixellated lines in place of any diagonal line in the pictures. However, only photos in the portrait orientation are affected by this problem. Landscape-oriented photos look perfectly normal, just smaller.
My first thought was that maybe the images were low quality in the web gallery preview but wouldn't be in the actual saved file, but alas I saved the index.html file and when I preview it in my web browser I get the same result with the portrait-oriented photos.
Any idea how to fix this? Other than only using landscape photos in my gallery of course!
    Thanks!

The same problem here. I've noticed it just yesterday, but my Safari rendering is affected the same way.
I don't think it has anything to do with the recent updates. I reinstalled my MacOS X Leopard day ago and all the images (jpg, gif) have been somehow in lower quality ever since that moment. Even before I installed all new updates today.
The strangest think is, that it wasn't like this before the reinstallation. I used the same media, and I have, indeed, the same machine.
I'm hopeless. Have you already found some solution? Or anybody? Would be great...

  • Web gallery albums disappear

The problem: An album in iphoto web gallery has just disappeared from my iphoto program. I created a replacement album in web gallery but now when I go to my web gallery I see the old one and the new one. I cannot delete the old one as it does not show on my dot mac account and in iphoto. How do I delete the old one? Why do these albums disappear from iphoto in the first place.

How do I delete the old one?
THis is the easy qustion - go to your iDisk and delete the gallery -- finder ==> iDisk ==> web ==> sites ==> _gallery
Why do these albums disappear from iphoto in the first place.
    That is the hard question.
First be sure you are using the latest version of iphoto - 7.1.3
Second be careful not to make changes to the gallery while it is updating (this should NOT be a problem but appears to sometimes cause problems)
Third report to Apple -- iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
Because of this issue (although have not experienced it myself) I suggest creating standard albums for all galleries and doing all of your changes before creating the gallery - this avoids some problems and gives you a back up in case you need to regenerate the gallery due to a problem

  • Bridge CS4 Web Galleries - Adding New Web Gallery Presets

Hi. How can i import new web gallery presets into Bridge CS4, for example from lightroomgalleries co? Im on a French Win XP and Photoshop CS4. I know i have to create a folder within Common Files/Adobe/Bridge CS4 Extensions/Adobe output Module/mediagallery/resources/templates/. If i see it right, i have to create another styles folder within that? I manage Bridge CS4 to offer the imported preset in the presets menu, but the results look generic, not like what the preset should do according to the description on the web site. So what can i do?
Are there other sources for other gallery presets?
I would also like to know how to set the name that the Presets menu uses. Ive seen this .dat file which seems to control the names for the menu, but wasnt able to change the name appearing in the menu.
For that, I had copied a complete style like 03filmstrip, changed the xml files and renamed the folder to 09filmstripVariant. Thus it appeared with the original name, but at position 9 in the menu. I didnt find out how to make it appear with a new name.
In these names for Bridge gallery presets, are there certain characters i must avoid like underscore, minus or blank?
    Thanks for all clear info!

Hi all<br />It is still possible to create webgalleries and contactsheets in CS4, but you have to copy some files and folders from a folder called Goodies which you can find on you install disk or download as extras from Adobe.com. <br />In the "...Goodies\Optional plug-ins" folder there is a OptionalPluginsReadMe.pdf where they among other things write:<br /><br />"1. From the Photoshop CS4 install disc, drop the //<language>/Goodies/Optional plug-<br />Ins/Automate/WebContactSheetII plug-in into the //Adobe Photoshop CS4/Plugins/<br />Automate folder<br /><br />2. From the Photoshop CS4 install disc, drop the //<language>/Goodies/Presets/Web Photo<br />Gallery folder into the //Adobe Photoshop CS4/Presets folder and then restart Photoshop."

  • .Mac Web Gallery - How to change key photo and order or galleries?

How can I choose which photo is the key photo for each .Mac web gallery? Also, how can I re-arrange the order of the web galleries?

I would really love to see a solution for this too ! Unfortunately I think apple just didn't implement it in Aperture. My .Mac web gallery is about events in my life and it doesn't make any sense to have it sorted alphabetically...
Not being able to simply set a key photo is really annoying too.
The worst is that these two functions are available in iPhoto. All they had to do was copy and paste...
    Apple are you listening ?

  • Saving web gallery to Dreamweaver site

I have created a web gallery in Adobe Bridge and incorporated it into my Dreamweaver site using an iFrame. When I preview the slide show in Bridge the slides are perfectly centered. When I preview the gallery in my site the slides are not centered. I will send a copy of the page.
Can you see what I need to do?
    Thanks,
    Pat

    Hello Peter,
What I do, to link my Aperture galleries to my iWeb pages, is to export the galleries from Aerture to my disk and then to upload them using ftp to a folder at my web hostings service. Then I link the iWeb pages to the gallery using link button or string. I use the free FTP program CyberDuck http://cyberduck.softonic.de/mac to copy the gallery using ftp. If your web hosting service allows ftp transfer, you could do the same. CyberDuck is really a smart little tool, but any program that allows ftp transfer would suffice.

  • Web Gallery - additional galleries

    Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have more than one gallery in an Adobe Web Gallery? I am using Adobe Web Gallery as my website (not imbeded into an existing website) and would like to have more than one gallery to organize my photos. I have noticed that there is a toggle option < 1/1 > at the bottom of the gallery, which some tutorials have said allows you to switch from one gallery to the next, but there is no mention of how to make additional galleries.
Any help that you can provide would be most appreciated.

    The bluefire_gallery as mentioned is the Flash Gallery.<br /><br />Here is lines 444 to 450 in the galleryMaker.xml file<br /> <mx:VBox ag:style="content_column"><br />      <mx:HBox><br />        <mx:Label text="$$$/WPG/Templates/BlueFire/ContactInfo=Contact Info"/><br />        <ag:mruPopup value="contactInfoName"/><br />      </mx:HBox><br />      <mx:TextInput ag:maximumLength='150' ag:resizeToFitTextHeight="true" id="contactInfoName" ag:layout="text_color=AgPanel.bright_text_color,"/><br />    </mx:VBox><br /><br />Change where it says 150 to 250 in line 449 (or 300 even if you need more characters)<br />Then add your links to the Contact Info box. Leave Web or Mail Link blank.<br />See screen cap to see it in action<br /><img src="http://seanmcfoto.com/lightroom/image/web.jpg">

Am logged in to Creative Cloud, have saved a web gallery, and am trying to publish first web gallery.  Consistently get the same message, 'An error occurred sending the file : connection to the server failed'.  Can somebody help me to resolve this?

Firstly, have you entered the correct FTP settings as given by the host where you are uploading to?
Next, try using Export and then uploading via an external FTP program like Filezilla. FTP from Lightroom isn't as robust as a dedicated FTP program.

  • Saving Web Gallery presets...

I created a Web Photo Gallery in Adobe Bridge. I want to save my presets, cause I changed the background color etc? It this possible? Cause I want to use the same presets in the future.
    Thanks,

I can save a web gallery preset in CS4 Bridge (by clicking on the icon next to the trash can under "Create Gallery," but can't figure out how to load it into CS5 Bridge. Any ideas where this preset is saved?
    Thanks,
