Web gallery thumbnails missing

when I publish a web gallery it seems to work. I can go to the gallery online and view photos.
When I go to another one of my computers to work in iPhoto the gallery shows up, but the thumbnails are showing up as question marks. What's up with that?
Am I missing something?
Thanks

I am having the same problem. On my second computer (ibook), when I go to iPhoto, I see the Web Galleries created through the first computer (imac), but I do not see all the thumbnails, only the dotted outlines. I have five galleries. One has all thumbnails, two have some of them (and outlines) and two have only the outlines.
I went to iphoto>Preferences>Web Gallery. Then I clicked the "Check Now" button to the right of Check for Updates (top row). Not sure if this is a program error, user error, or maybe even network error as I'm using my ibook on a different (and perhaps weaker) wireless network.

  • Web Gallery - thumbnails link to the wrong photos

anyone else got this issue? Ive uploaded various galleries, and it seems .mac is a bit confused. See, I have many photos in iPhoto that are titled e.g. CIMG09878. That was never a problem. Now though on the net, in the web gallery, if I click on one of the thumbnails with that title, it opens a photo from another gallery. Any idea how I can get around this without having to rename hundreds of photos?

    Thank you, joev and Bob,
Update to the text below: I just realized that documentation explains how to call some file from the HTML content of the Web Content Overlay, not how to get the HTML content inside the Web Content Overlay. I can probably do redirect to the train1.html from plain HTML code inserted into Web Content Overlay. So there is no way to use link to the file as for the http://webServerPath/Cartoons/train1.html?
We have 1 html file that uses 1 image file, both files inside the folder inside HTMLResources.zip and I need to display that html, so:
    HTMLResources.zip/Cartoons/train1.html
    HTMLResources.zip/Cartoons/train1.png - referenced inside train1.html
If I use http URL, e.g.
    http://webServerPath/Cartoons/train1.html
then everything works, if I try to set that URL to the HTMLResources:
    ../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1
    or
    ../../../HTMLResources/Cartoons/train1.html
I'm getting an error, even documentation explains what link should be used.
Workaround when we just use the local HTML folder also works.
    Thank you!

  • The Output panel in cs 6, giving choice between pdf or Web gallery, is missing when I click on the Output workspace.  How do I get it back?

Anybody know how to manage this?  I have never had this problem before.  There is a blank space where I used to be able to choose between Web gallery and PDF

I ended up doing the exact same thing and was just as surprised when it worked. Seems backwards and counterintuitive, and it's probably a big glitch somewhere in iOS5 and/or iTunes, but it did work.
Now, however, I have a new problem. I have a Bluetooth-enabled Garmin nuvi 2360 GPS I use in my car for hands-free calling with the iPhone. Never had any problems with connecting until after the restore last night. Now, even tho the iPhone is discoverable and attempts to connect, it always fails. Anyone know if there are issues with the Bluetooth capabilities of the phone with iOS5? I'm almost paranoid to try and sync the phone or shut it down again in case it craps out again. May take it to the Apple Store, but I've got a feeling they'll either tell me there's nothing they can do or that I have to buy a new phone, and I just can't do it right now.

  • Web gallery albums missing

Why does my web gallery say I have no published albums when, in fact, I have two that showed up yesterday?

Try accessing the account with the following steps.  Hope this helps!
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
    Touch Gallery.
Touch a gallery (e.g. All photos).
     Touch and hold a photo.
    Touch Share.
From the Caption field, enter a caption.
From the Account field, touch the drop down menu.
    Touch an account.
Depending upon account setup, additional accounts may appear.
Depending upon setup, additional albums may appear.
To create a new album, touch the + symbol.
From the Enter album title field, enter a title.
Touch one of the following options then touch Create:
    Public
    Unlisted
    Touch Upload.

  • Web Gallery Link Missing

I have been busy posting my albums to the web gallery. I have noticed that some of them do not show the web link in iPhoto while the photos are in fact available on the web.
If I delete and re-add the gallery sometimes the link will then appear in iPhoto, sometimes it takes several deletes and re-adds before the link appears and sometimes it has never appeared.
I can still invite folks to view the web gallery but I cannot click on a link to jump to it myself from iPhoto.

    SuperGreg:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go to the View->Show in Toolbar menu item and select Web Gallery (and any other button you might want in the toolbar that's no checked).

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Increase LR 5 Web Gallery Thumbnails

    Hi,
I had control over the size of the thumbnails in Photoshop 7.X, but it appears that the LR 5 thumbnails are a fixed size when you create a gallery and post them to the server.  How do you control the size of the thumbnails in the posted web galleries?
    Thank you,
    PP

it is possible to adjust the size of the thumbnails by getting into the code behind the scenes... There's a fairly involved bit of math which works out spacing, etc but it should be possible to work out for your specific instance.

  • Missing images in web gallery- strange lines??

When I make a web gallery and publish to .mac a couple of images appear to be missing or are cropped.. its really odd.. everything looks fine in the preview. Also I sometimes get these really strange thin lines through my images.. I usually dont notice them until I get my prints done.. Has either of these happened to anyone? Thanks.

    nikinoo --
In the past I've experienced the same problem with some web galleries. The problem went away after I quit Aperture & then opened it up again. I then went and republished the problem gallery without a hitch.
I too have experienced lines running through my images, but it's been quite some time -- The upgrades that Apple has released appear to have corrected the problems. It might be helpful for you to list what printing settings you are using, there are tons of people here who should be able to help.

  • Square thumbnails in web gallery?

I love the ease of Aperture's web galleries but they would look so much more professional if there was an option to crop the thumbnails to a square without changing the large image. Does anyone know of a way to do this with Aperture?

I'm not clear why it would look more professional if
portrait shots and landscape shots were all cropped
to square. I'm no pro, but I can't imagine posting my
photos that way even for friends & family, even as
    thumbs.
I just like the way it looks, I edited a web gallery after exporting as an example:
    http://homepage.mac.com/greenldr/Portfolio2/index.html
This took a lot of time after the export and would have to be redone each time I updated the page, thus I was looking for a way to do this in Aperture. I would definately appreciate any help.

  • Missing Images when Automating Web Gallery in CS3

    HI
I'm new so please be kind! I am trying to automate a web gallery in Photoshop CS3 but every time I run it it misses one image. I have renamed the image to no avail. Its a jpeg like all the others - nothing at all outstanding about it. I have purged the folder cache through Bridge. No difference. I have tried to do it through CS3 and through Bridge, no difference. I have even turned the computer off and on again!Of course the one its skipping is one I really want in the gallery!
    I am running a Mac OS X 10.5.5 on a 2Ghz Destop
    Thanks

You're a genius! I left both the jpeg and the psd in the same folder - it skipped the jpeg again but found the psd file.
    Thanks so much

  • Duplicate thumbnails in my Web Gallery album

I just upgraded to iLife/iPhoto 08 and I made a web gallery with some selected images. All the images are on the actual website (the link), but in iPhoto the thumbnails for those images show up a duplicates (in some cases there are 5 of the same thumbnail). the total number of photos lists 220 when there are really only 52. What is going on? Anyone have a similar problem?
I've tried quitting, restarting, clearing cache (wondering if it was my browser that was not correct).

    Rick:
Mount your iDisk and go to the Web/Sites/-gallery folder. See how many folders are located in there. You might have to delete them all via the Finder and republish your galleries again.
By the way, your 112 Tokyo gallery is listed at 101 photos when I visit. Wonderful pictures.

  • Web Gallery missing from Sidebar

For some reason, my Web Gallery icon which lists all my published web galleries has disappeared from my iPhoto sidebar. How do I get it back? I can see my Library, Recent, Subscriptions and Albums sidebar items but no Web Gallery. Please help and let me know how to bring it back to my Sidebar listing alll my published Web Gallleries.

Same issue here - mine happened right after I did the October iLife update
In reply to CCRiders post - it's not the button in the bottom toolbar that's missing it's the actual previously posted gallery's that don't show up anymore in the SideBar, even though they're still posted.
The Galleries are still in the Web/Sites folder on the iDisk. They have a specific # which is why you can repost it with the same name and it doesn't overwrite it, instead it adds another one.
    Weird 'eh!

  • Web Gallery missing some of iMovie clip

    Hi
I've uploaded a 90gb video clip from iMovie to Web Gallery. Initially I selected all 3 sizes (Tiny, Mobile and Medium). I had a problem that not all of the clip would show in Web Gallery. I miss the last 1 minute or so.
I removed from Web Gallery and tried again, this time just the Mobile size. Same problem, the clip stops at the exact same point.
In iMovie, it works in full. Strange it's stopping at the same point in Web Gallery ?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Missing Metadata in Web Gallery images exported from Aperture.

Images that I export directly to my .mac web gallery from aperture do not show any meta data on their info pages. In aperture the images have all meta data.
I have checked all the presets and all include metadata. There is no specific preset for web gallery I notice.
    Has anyone else solved this?

I want to change all the metatdata in groups to copywrighted. I can not seem to do this. There could be a checkbox on or off when importing. This would be perfect for bringing in older copywrighted archives.

  • Meta data missing in Web Gallery

When uploading images to my web gallery Aperture generates small and medium size jpeg files of my images. These jpegs does not include meta data. Has anyone seen this too?
If I select to "Allow" "Downloading of:" (Optimized Images, Actual Size Images, Optimized & Master Images) then Aperture will generate large size jpegs that include meta data.
Can it be right that you have to upload and generate the larger optimized jpegs in order to show meta data in your web galleries?
I am running Aperture 2.0.1 and Leopard 10.5.2

It seams that others have seen the same minor bug or feature as outlined above. Question seams answered.
