Web gallery watermark/copyright

I searched for this topic, but didn't find it. I'm wondering if its possible to customize the way the copyright/watermark appears on the images in the web galleries, with respect to font size, opacity and position. As they appear now, they are small and in the lower left corner of the image. For my business website (where the customers are very tempted to download the images w/o permission), I prefer the watermark across the middle of the image, faded but still very legible.
Perhaps this can go in the Feature Requests if it is not there already?

Not as yet. There are already various Copyright/watermark requests in. YOu can do a TPI overlay as you like it for Slideshow and Print, but not yet for Export or Web because it takes advantage of the ID Plate (used differently in Web and not in Export at all).

  • How to have Web Gallery photos have a Watermark?

    I created Web Galleries in Aperture 2.1. I have in the Presets for Web Exporting selected a PSD Watermark I made. But when viewing the photos on the Web Gallery, the photos do not have the Watermark.
    I also changed the Presets for Image Export to include a Watermark and these export with the Watermark.
    Is there a way to have the photos displayed on Web Galleries to include a Watermark for copyright?

    How could they pass this over? I'm using Aperture 2.1.1 so they obviously haven't taken any of this to heart over the past few months. The web gallery feature is so simple and intuitive it's a bit of a slap in the face not being able to embed my watermark. It would only make sense given that they have made downloading your images so simple. If I want to give a client a link to download my pics they certainly need to have some form of copyright on them. Come on Aperture team! Make this stunning product just that much better and please add this feature!

  • Is there a way to create a web gallery which generates watermarked images in Photoshop CC?

    Your Case Number:0184430495
    Adobe informed me that web gallery creation is no longer available in Bridge CC.  I was told to download Lightroom for this capability.  When I tried to do that, I was told that my operating system 10.6.8 is not compatible.  I use 10.6.8 to use third party software.  Will Adobe return this feature to Bridge?  If so, please add a watermark feature (such as the one that Dr. Russell Brown created for CS6)  Also, please include more html5 galleries or galleries that will appear on multiple kinds of devices.  Thank you.

  • Help! centered watermark in web gallery?

    Hello!
    does anyone know either
    1) a web gallery template with an option to center the logo
    2) Where to modify the LR defalt galleries (coding) to center the logo
    I really need a centered logo. Some of my photos have stock value, and I need a watermark over the center of the image to prevent web usage.
    thanks!

    I use LR2Mogrify to add a watermark on export, check the add to catalog box on the export dialog and then put the watermarked copies into the web gallery.
    Here is an example:

  • Watermarking for Aperture's web gallery

    I really like Aperture's web gallery feature but would like to make use of the watermark feature for those images. That way, if images are 'borrowed' there is still a reference to my website.
    Any ideas on how this could be done? I'm guessing the only way is to edit in PS and add the watermark there but is it possible to do without leaving Aperture?

    Make a new Web Export preset with a watermark, just like you would a regular Image Export preset.

  • Freeware Java web gallery software released

    December 2, 2002
              I'm pleased to announce that version 1.0 of B*Gallery has been
              released at http://www.brianyoung.net/b-gallery
              B*Gallery is a web photo gallery solution based on Java 2, Java Server
              Pages and XML technologies. The server component easily plugs in to
              your existing web site running on a J2EE-compliant server. A client
              application allows for complete gallery management. B*Gallery is
              designed to attain a level of flexibility and ease of use that cannot
              be reached by solutions which merely generate static HTML pages.
              B*Gallery can harvest a photo's Exif data, which is the extended
              information written to JPEG files by digital cameras. Panoramic
              images created with photo stitching applications are handled
              intelligently and automatically by the gallery. Also, a useful file
              renaming feature is included to turn generic filenames produced by
              digital cameras into meaningful names based on data elements like the
              date and time the photo was taken.
              Visit http://www.brianyoung.net/b-gallery to view a sample gallery and
              download an installer for Linux or Windows.

    The ability to produce web galleries is not a central function of LR and as you say there is better software around if this is your main requirement. The limit of 500 can  be over written, usually in the galleryInfo.lrweb file for a gallery, the line is maximumGallerySize = xxxx , but the web gallery generation is designed for professional photographers to create quick galleries for client usage...500 images would be more than enough for the vast majority of users! It is after all, more photographs than on display in the National Photographic Gallery.
    As far as the different sizes of images go, this is really dependent on which particular galleries you choose to use (or create for yourself is you wish). The sizes you mention may be the ones that come pre installed with LR (I have never used these so don't know) but there are hundreds of other available, some free, some paid for, or create your own.
    The copyright is a small text marking and in relation to any sensible size likely to be used on the web works perfectly fine. If you want to actually watermark an image, rather than just a simple text label, then you require LR2/ Mogrify plug in with LR 2 or use LR 3 Beta which does this natively as part of the export process.
    By the way, LR runs perfectly well as a 62 bit application. You may well be missing something...particularity if "every time you click a mouse it redoes every single image you have loaded" as this is not a problem that I associate with LR on systems with far less power than yours.

  • I want to customize the "HTML Gallery" web gallery template in Bridge CS6.

    Using Win7 64bit + PS CS6 64 bit ext on a 16GB PC.  In which folder do I find the web gallery templates for Bridge CS6?  Is there info available on how the programming/configuration works with the info passed by Bridge - filename, contact info, copyrights, description/title, email, etc.
    Please point me to any sources of info.
    I lke the idea of setting-up a gallery directly from bridge. Any other ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi JJMack,
    Can you please explain how you use Phoshop Scripts to generate web galleries?  I've created a Photoshop script to bulk add captions/descriptions from a text file to image files, so I have some JS scripting skill.  Are you willing to share your scripts?
    I really like the ability to setup the oder of my gallery in Bridge (images in rows and columns) then directly generate a small 20-40 image gallery, with descriptions, file names, etc.
    I'm also looking at Lightroom 5 to produce small web galleries.  It appears that the post-processor from Turning Point is suggested.
    I only use the Bridge as a metadata Editor and I do not use Lightroom.  I know the Bridge can be scripted where files can be selected in Bridge the passed to Photoshop and Photoshop Scripts like the Image Processor scripts through Bridge talk.  My script does not have Support for the Bridge through Bridge talk.  You may be able to add that support, My Scripts use some of the metadata fields like Photoshop Wed Galleries used them and also has an option to support EXIF information.   When the Web Gallery is created Photoshop starts your web browser on it like Photoshop Web Gallery feature did so you can verify it,   My Script does not Upload the galleries to you web server like the Bridge output module can.  I rather use FTP then tie up Photoshop transferring the gallery over the web.  My Scripts are just hacks of a Script Jeff created for the Simpleviewer Flash Web Gallery,  The script support  that Flash Gallery and their other Flash Galleries and the Flash WS-Slideshow Gallery so mobile devices without Flash support can not view my galleries.  So some nice tablets with High resolution displays are not supported,   The Scripts basically uses canned HTML for the Gallery Viewer and writes the XML file for your Images getting the information for title and description ect from the image files metadata,  The Format of the gallery is also controlled in the XML file written by the script.   I just hack at JavaScript and because I don't use the Bridge for selection and order it did not brother me that Jeff's code did not support or use Bridge talk It simply includes all image from a folder into the gallery it creates. It uses Photoshop Script to create the gallery tree with Thumbnails and web size images with optional visible watermark text stamp,  Web image size is set like fit image my scripts default size is 1600x1200. • Font selection view control in Web Gallery

    LR4.1 RC2
    I wanted to be able to change the font type from the UI panel using a font select popup.
    This control really only seems to exist in the inbuilt edit modes (eg: id plate and watermark) so I have tried a workround which seems to work OK so far. Maybe it will help someone else out working with webengines.
    Mac/OSX only at this stage - good source file in Windows may be font.inf but would require a bit of parsing or get a folder listing somehow.
    Basically I read in the contents of the fonts.list file - which appears in the OSX fonts folders - and then massage the contents to get a raw list of the fonts.
    This raw list is then read into a lua table and consumed by the UI popup control.
    Should there be an obvious way that I haven't seen then just give me time to find a banana to eat ... anyway here goes -
    Changing the font type for the cell index numbers.
    Grid cells use cellIndex to give the photo number and in my webengine the css class is .itemNumber
    Data Model references -   Note:   %s is important for select to work - if %q is used select will work but font won't change ( %q adds quotes to the string ).
                ["appearance.itemNumber.font"] = function() return string.format( "%s", nonCSS.itemNumberFontSize .. "px " .. nonCSS.itemNumber.font ) end,
                ["nonCSS.itemNumberFontSize"] = 60,
                ["nonCSS.itemNumber.font"] = "inherit",
                fontlistpath = LrPathUtils.child('/Library/Fonts','')    -- OSX Default fonts
    Code just prior to LR UI Views -
            deffonts = templatepath .. "/pgresources/" .. 'osxdeffont.txt'      -- templatepath is the root path of the webengine - this is the tweaked OSX fonts.list file
            function readFontsFile( deffonts )
                local fileLines = io.lines( deffonts )
                ff3 = {}
                for line in io.lines(deffonts) do
    Filter lines here ...
    eg:   -
                    line = string.sub(line, 17)   -- remove 1st 16 chrs        (/Library/Fonts//Osaka.ttf)
                    line = string.gsub(line, "(.ttf)", "")
                    local kline = line
                       local vline = line
                       table.insert(ff3, { title =  kline ,value = vline })
                end
            end
    LR UI View for font select -
                f:popup_row {
                    title = "Font family :",
                    bindingValue = "nonCSS.itemNumber.font",
                    items =  ff3,
                    bindingEnabled = "appearance.itemNumber.display",   -- control should be disabled if display checkbox false
                    tooltip = "Choose wisely Dave!",
    Using this method is not perfect but gives a good selection of fonts - I found that to improve the success rate the default font file was copied into the webengine
    resources folder and tweaked. eg:  the default file gives Brush Script.ttf but I needed Brush Script MT to work, similarly with Arial Rounded Bold which needed changing
    to Arial Rounded MT Bold
    Basically to find the correct descriptions you could do far worse than to use the ones in the edit selections used by the ID Plate/watermarking features.
                Well there you go ...
    As an aside I did try an undocumented control which on double click popped up a system font selection dialog (the whole nine yards) but  couldn't get it to link to the css class so I didn't persist - not a good idea to use undocumented controls but can be fun to play with.
        f:font_picker {
            font = "Copperplate",     -- showed font as highlighted when picker opened.
            width = 80,
            value = "Arial",    -- appeared on control (title ??) - this value only changed according to the font selected after double-clicking on another hidden control (f:image_well)
            bindingValue = "nonCSS.itemNumber.font",  -- linkage didn't work
    Again, unless I missed it, it would be really good to have the font_picker documented and working for the web gallery views.  Fonts seem to be a murky area -
    probably accounts for the hassles I am getting with the watermarking feature as well.
    Update :
    If the font doesn't work try using the PostScript name as a value which invariably works.
    eg: Handwriting - Dakota  will not work but Handwriting-Dakota will.
         Arial Bold will not work but Arial-BoldMT will.

    I don't think that there is any option to set the default view in the web album. If anyone has found an option to do this, then I will like to know as well.
    Quite a lot of the settings in web album seams to be "hard coded" and only a few settings are available for users to control.

  • Bridge CS4 / Flash Web Gallery

    Hi!
    I'm trying to create a web gallery in Bridge CS4.
    If I save to disk, then it'll run fine locally, but once uploaded it won't any more.
    No idea why. It used to work, and as far as I know, I altered *nothing*.
    Here is one that did work:
    http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/testflash/
    (uploaded using Fetch)
    Here's one that I ftp'd from Bridge. Works as well:
    http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/test
    Here is the exact same gallery as the one above, saved to HDD, then uploaded using Fetch.
    http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/test1/
    Both of the later galleries don't have a folder "bin" created, which the first one did.
    Also weird, is that when I used CyberDuck to upload the "test1" gallery, I got a "403" error when trying to view it...
    HTML galleries work "so so" for me.
    Again: looks fine locally, looks off once uploaded.
    Error 403: http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/testHTML/
    Looks off: http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/testHTMLFetch/
    (strange symbol on the top, when clicked, the images appear off center, and with a dark line above them)
    Again, does look okay when uploaded through Bridge instead of Fetch:
    Works: http://www.moonglade.net/~rene/testHTMLBridge/
    A few other points I have with the web galleries through BridgeCS4: There seems to be no option to watermark, or to convert the images to sRGB? These images are AdobeRGB, with embedded profile, which will look like crap in any non color managed browser. Not ideal, to say the least.
    Also repaired permissions and such. Then restart.
    No help.
    I've tried resetting all prefs for bridge, and even installed the entire CS4 anew.
    No help.
    I'm at a loss here. Might be something simple I'm missing, but I don't see it...
    Guess I'll just have to use LR to build web galleries.
    OSX 10.4.11
    G5 2x2GHz
    5.5Gb Ram
    31Gb free on an 160Gb HDD

    I discovered a way to create a Bridge CS4 gallery that works in all browsers.
    The flash gallery worked great on most browsers - but does not work on the iPhone.  My google analytics show that many people are looking at my site via an iPhone.
    Take 2 was making an .html gallery.  Was able to preview it and it looked great on my computer, but when uploaded to my site the images did not appear, only the names.  This indicated the image files had not uploaded.  I located the "content" folder within the photo gallery and tried uploading it separately, receiving the error that there was an illegal file name so it couldn't be uploaded.
    Take 3 - looked at the file names in the folder "content" and realized the sub folder name "bin" was probably causing the problem to solve it (it is assumed that you manage your site with Dreamweaver CS4):
    Open Dreamweaver CS4
    Locate the "bin" file in the "files" palatte and select it
    In the drop-down menu in the upper right of the files pallet choose
    >file
    >rename
    >then rename the file, I used "source"
    Dreamweaver will ask you permission to update linked files - say YES
    The gallery will now work on all browsers.

  • Web Gallery: Preventing Users from Downloading Photos

    Hi,
    Ive recently uploaded a web gallery (wedding pictures) from iPhoto and I need to secure it. So far Ive password protected the web gallery, so that it is not accessible to the public. Ive also checked the option to prevent people from downloading pictures.
    When I login to the Gallery, I find the "Download" button for each picture is greyed out, but then there is nothing stopping me from right-clicking on the image and saving it to the hard drive. Is there something Im missing here, or is this a bug in the Web Gallery?
    Mark

    Mark:
    As already pointed out there's no way from stopping viewers from taking screenshots of your photos. You can, however, add a watermark to your photos to identify the owner. You can use an image editor like Photoshop Elements (used in the example) or one of the many watermarking applications available. Go to VersionTracker.com and do a search for watermark to find the various candidates.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Remove one version from web gallery album

    I created a mobile me gallery in aperture. AFter doing it, i decided to add copyright to the images in photoshop. I did this with apertures ability to edit with an external editor. I completed it all and went back into to aperture happy to se there were now two versions of each photo, one with the change, one without.
    However, on the mobile me gallery folder, each picture has a stack of two pictures, one with the edit one without etc. How can I remove the original from the mobile me gallery but keeping it in aperture?
    i seem to remember seeing an option when I right clicked somewhere and I could choose to remove an image from an album, but I can't find this..
    Regards

    Ok i tried that an the version I wanted got a tick at the top centre of the thumbnail. I synced the gallery but it didn't really work.
    The thumbnails in the web gallery have the copyright in the bottom right but when you click it to load the large version, it loads without the copyright.
    Have a look
    http://gallery.me.com/alexdlyons#100265&view=grid&bgcolor=black&sel=3
    I unstacked one of the photos and found the remove from album button. I tried this and I was left with the one I wanted, so I did it to all of them. I tried to sync it but no joy. Now I am left with the original project in bits as there are some versions with weird names, some with copyright etc and with OCD it is wrecking my head!!
    How can I fix this??

  • Ability to download full size originals from web gallery.

    Unlike the pros that sell their stuff online and are concerned about people downloading usable photos, I shoot a lot of community and family events and would like a way to allow folks to download full size printable photos from the web gallery. This would keep me from getting hammered for printable files, which of course are larger than the email attachment limits for most people and thus require a sneaker-net or snail-mail delivery.
    Specifically, I'd like to see a gallery similar to what we have today, with thumbnails zoomable to larger pics that are still web quality. These larger pics would have a link on them to allow downloading of a full size printable image. All of this would preferably be generated and uploaded automatically using the gallery generation interface we have today.

    Dave,
    I imagine that one issue that would have to be dealt with would be some kind of protection scheme. I post galleries on PBase, but not my higher-resolution "originals". PBase does, however, have a two-tiered protection scheme, password-protection, and non-public protection, so that if you post high-resolution files you can do so without the fear of people downloading them without some kind of permission. A lot of copyright marks can easily be cropped and, with a high enough resolution file, can be used without the info for print or whatever.
    Anyway, you might want to include some kind of protection with the ability to download high-res files.

  • Printing a Web gallery - No

    Can you turn off clients ability to print from a Web Gallery?

    If you watermark, compress at 60% and post only smallish files it doesn't stop printing but reduces the quality to unacceptable quality. You should specify in your contract what a client is allowed to do with any files supplied.
    You can also use htacess on your web site to prevent hot linking of files so they can't use them on a web site.
    However nothing can actually stop someone stealing your work if you place it on the web, any more than you can completely guarantee they won't break into your house.

  • Web gallery for iPad and iPhone -- your suggestions

    Hi,
    My current website has Flash-based galleries created in LR using SlideShowPro.  I want to create an alternate web gallery for viewing on the iPad and iPhone.  Can someone here recommend a LR web gallery plug-in for this purpose?  If possible, I'd like the gallery to work the way the iPhone Camera Roll works, but at very least, I'd like viewers to be able to simply flick their way through the images.  (SlideShowPro Director does this, but I'm not quite ready to take on its complexity.)
    I found a pretty nice solution here:
    http://tmaphotography.perso.sfr.fr/#PictOnMobile -- the mobile gallery
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks very much.

    Someone else just asked this and I answered. You can use the hard drive publish service to push photos into a gallery that synchronizes with iTunes. It works really well.
    Here is the other post:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4410886#4410886
    I use the hard drive publish service to create galleries for my iPad. I setup iTunes to sync photos from a particular folder, and then setup Lightroom to publish to that folder. Each time I want to create a new gallery for my iPad, I just create a new published folder and drop the photos into that folder. Then I publish the photos. The publish feature allows me to update photos in collections easily, as well as setup specific sizes for export to my iPad.
    I have also used published smart collections for my portfolio images. When I tag a photo with a particular gallery keyword, it gets added to the collection. I then just publish the photos in the service and I've got them on my ipad. It works really well!
    Setup a hard drive publish service
    Open the Library module
    Go to the Publish Services.
    Press the + to and choose Go to publishing manager.
    Click Add
    Choose Hard drive as the service type. Name the publish service iPad Photos
    Choose to export your photos to a specific location. Make note of this location and instruct iTunes to use the same location for synchronizing photos. Do not choose to put in a subfolder.
    Choose the format as JPEG, Color space as sRGB, and set your quality in the File Settings section.
    Choose to resize your photos to fit the iPad in the image resizing section. I have chosen Width & Height of 1500x1500. This will give black bars if your photo doesn't match the aspect ratio of the iPad. You can also choose Dimensions and set a dimension. The output photo will be cropped to fill the screen. I have an iPad 2 and wanted to be able to zoom a bit, so I chose dimensions larger than the iPad.
    Set the other options as needed -- sharpening, metadata, and watermarking.
    Click Save.
    Back at the Library module you should now find your new publish service. Create a gallery.
    Right click the service and choose Create Published Folder.
    Name the folder the name you want to appear in your iPad Photos app.
    Drop files from the photo browser into this new collection.
    Right click the collection and choose Publish Now.
    Repeat these 4 steps anytime you want to create a new gallery on your iPad.
    All you need to do now is to sync the photos on your ipad using iTunes.
