Web Gallery Widget Help

I am trying to place a web gallery widget onto my iWeb page. I have been successful at that and can see the web gallery preview after it is placed. However, when I save the page, then publish to dotMac, then view the page in Safari, the web widget box where the preview should be is completely black. The link to the dotMac web gallery works fine, just no preview. This used to work fine when I was using the "Highlighter" web template but not since I switched to the "Modern Frame" web template.

Try deleting the widget, reloading it into the iWeb page and then doing a "Publish all to .Mac".

  • Web Gallery Widget not viewable from iPhone

I have created web photo galleries in iPhoto 08. Then I have opened iWeb08 and created a page an added a web gallery widget for each of the galleries on this page, everything works fine. Now I fire up the iPhone and go to my iWeb page where the widgets are located.
The problem is the web gallery widget appears on the iPhone screen as a blue cube with a question mark on two sides and some round grey circles on top. I can not access the galleries from iPhone. Are these cubes a representation for some program that the iPhone can't open? Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if this helps, but there is special formatting for Web Galley pages on your iPhone. When you open the link to your gallery in Safari you will get a screen of clickable thumbnails. Clicking the My Gallery button will take you to your other galleries. Clicking a thumbnail will bring up the image and the Play button.

  • Web Gallery widget problems

I'm having some issues with the mobileme web gallery widgets in iWeb. I first noticed when one of the widgets would not change photos as you roll over it, even though I had multiple photos in the gallery. I unpublished the gallery and re-published using a different name. The next time I started iweb it didn't find any of my mobile me galleries. Almost every other time I get this message when working in iWeb. If it does find my galleries, It doesn't find the new one, but it still lists the old gallery that I have unpublished. I've tried repairing permissions, rebooting. I've seen that a few people had this problem and it went away. Mine hasn't though. Any ideas?

Having a similar issue - I had taken some iphoto galleries off my mobile me gallery page but they were still linked to pages published in iWeb.
When I realized this I opened iWeb and took the gallery widgets out.
Then went into iPhoto and republished the galleries to mobile me, then back to iWeb and they still showed blank (like the two didn't know about eachother - name of the gallery is still showing in iWeb, but no longer displays photos).
Next try - delete the widget from iWeb page, delete the mobile me published gallery from iPhoto, setup a new (different name and all) published gallery in iPhoto - works, gallery page in mobile me works, back to iWeb and insert widget menu and the old galleries are still listed, no new galleries are showing up in iWeb now - great.
So, trying the tricks of shutting down iPhoto, iWeb, logging out of mobile me account in system preferences as well as via safari on me.com - then log back into every thing and start up iWeb again - still no new iPhoto published mobile me galleries showing in the iWeb insert-widget-mobile me menu.
Any help? Looking for a refresh in iWeb!?

  • .Mac Web Gallery WIDGETS not all displaying.

DESPITE UPDATING to iWeb 2.0.3, Web Gallery Widgets are still problematic- In the application & through Safari and Firefox. I have deleted then re-pasted the widgets; some of them display while others attempt to load but remain blacked-out.
In my troubleshooting process I have emptied Safari's cache, and have reloaded the page several times. This only serves to see some widgets (previously blacked-out) appear but others go black.
Would anyone know of any troubleshooting steps I may have missed?

The same thing is happening on my site. All the web widgets for the albums on .mac are showing black and there are no photos to scroll through. You can click on the arrow to be directed to the web gallery though. Have you tried deleting the widgets and adding them again? If so, did it work?

  • Flash web gallery NEED HELP

I have no clue how to program these flash galleries....My
site www.al-burke.com contains a flash web gallery that I purchased
online and I have been able to upload it to the site but its says
movie not loaded. I have all the neccessary files in place I
    believe (gallery.xlm, main.html, main.swf) all under a folder. Can
anyone please help me out? Thanks

Does it work when you test it from your local drive? If it
does, but doesn't work when you post the files to the server, you
may not have uploaded all of the parts correctly. If it doesn't
work when testing from the files on your harddrive either, then
there is a linking issue - have you moved any of the files after
the gallery was created...? (If so, the links will be broken).
You also reference a file named "main.html" - this isn't the
name of the file that's posted - if you created a file named that,
then changed the name to index.html without updating the links when
prompted, that will also break the links...
    Hope that helps...

  • Web gallery error help

    Hello all:
I have a friend running PSCS3. on a macbook pro laptop. When he goes to builkd a web gallery and chooses the images, he creates a folder on the desktop and names it (not the same name as the source folder). When h clicks ok he gets an error message that says:"Please choose a destination folder outside the source folder". he has built hundred of galleries and this just started.
He only had 4 gb of HD space left so he cleaned off a lot of stuff (12gb now) and it seemed to work ok for 3 or 4 galleries, but now he is getting the message again. Any idea how to solve this?
    Thanks,
    Chip Mitchell

It looks like you are trying to include a copy of "SpryWidget.js" hosted on another person's website. However, it appears that person has removed this file from their server. (If you check the link, it goes to a web page, instead of opening the JavaScript file.)
Recommend that you put a copy of this file on your website, and then update the src attribute in your script tag to point to your own copy of this file.
If you do not already have a copy, you can obtain this file from here: https://github.com/adobe/Spry

  • Web widgets -- .mac web gallery -- resize

I want to insert a web gallery widget on a page and I have successfully done so. But the display crops the image too much. I thought I could resize the display of the widget by grabbing and dragging one of the handles, but that doesn't work. Is there any way to resize the display of the widget? Would changing the size of the images in the web gallery make any difference?

Thanks -- I opened up the code in my "GoLive" application and found where the java script set the parameters. I've toyed with those until I got it to display most of what I want. I think part of the problem is the little "control" it inserts at the bottom to identify the album and give a little arrow button to link to the display -- that takes up some of the space. Anyway, got it to work a lot better.

  • Web Gallery Web Widget after MobilMe

I have numerous web pages that were created before the change to MMe, that have a Web Gallery widget on them. All these widgets point to the gallery on .mac. Short of deleting the old gallery widget and creating a new one, which will point to the .me gallery, is there a way to change the original widget to point to .me?
I have not yet re-published my site since the change over to MMe. When I "Publish all to MobileMe", will that change those widgets to then point to the .me gallery?

They will work whether it's .mac or .me. If you've run the latest updates for the iApps and republish the galleries in iPhoto by clicking on the button the url will change from .mac to .me. Do the same in iWeb and all will be fine .

I'd post your question in the iPhone forum because it seems to be an iPhone issue rather than an iPhoto one.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IWeb and Web Gallery

what is the difference between iWeb and WebGallery in iphoto. I am getting ready to revamp my old mac website and don't want to mess it all up.
Can I use them both together???

iWeb is an application for building websites.
A web gallery published from iPhoto is purely for publishing photos.
You can link to a web gallery from your iWeb built website or use the web gallery widget in iWeb to do this.
    Example ....

  • Web gallery code

Is it possible to get the code for my web gallery widget thing-a-magig that I have posted on my i website and use it on my blogspot blog?
    enrgyK

Below is the HTML code for your Web Gallery's main page:
    <iframe height="100%" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://gallery.mac.com/YOURNAME"></iframe>
And here is the HTML code for a specific Album in your Web Gallery:
    <iframe height="100%" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="yes" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://gallery.mac.com/YOURNAME#ALBUMNUMBER&view=mosaic&bgcolor=black"></i frame>
Copy that code, substitute YOURNAME & ALBUMNUMBER by the real thing and, if you want, you can substitute the "view=mosaic" by another view and the "bgcolor=black" by another color, etc.
Then find where to paste that code in your blog. And there's info about IFRAMEs here:

  • Help with Starting a Web Gallery

I am new to Lightroom and would like to setup a web gallery.  I setup the FTP server in the Upload Settings and when I click upload, everything seems to be working fine.  I also get a "Task Completed" message in the processing bar (upper left).
When I go to the destination,  (www.wokintime.com/gallery/) nothing is displayed.  Also, when I click "Preview in Browser" nothing displays - the url says "about:blank" and the entire page is blank.
    Am I missing something?
Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

Do you get an error message from LR when uploading?
Have you got permission to upload to this folder on the server?
Are you placing the gallery in a sub folder within the gallery folder on your site? This will be shown here in LR
Have you checked your server to see if the galley files are present? Whoever supplies your web service will usually have a mechanism to do this. Log in to your service in your browser, it will be called file browser or the like.
I note you are using wordpress for the site, you may also have a htacess file on your site that is set to prevent browsing directly within a folder that is outside of the WP instillation, you will need to change permissions on the folder to allow viewing of the gallery by direct html link if this is the case. It may be better to create your galleries in wordpress itself, many plug ins are avaible for this, I do this on my sites such as
    http://severnriverstrust.com/
    petemarshall.com
both of which use WP for the site and files from LR to create galleries

  • Im trying to publish a web gallery to BC, my settings seem correct but I'm still getting an  error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown error'. Techs on BC, say FTP working fine. Please help!

    Hey peeps,
Im trying to publish a web gallery to be hosted on BC. Despite having what seem the correct settings im getting an error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown message'. Have checked with techs on BC. They say FTP working fine that end.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried connecting to another FTP server in Lightroom?
For example, if you get a free Flickr account, can you login to it and upload a file to it?
If you can't upload to any server, then you have a general FTP-in-Lr problem, but if problem is only with BC then, well, it's time to start scrutinizing the BC settings..
PS - All my FTP'ing plugins have an enhanced FTP settings test feature designed to help you debug FTP settings, so another option is to download one of them, for example:
    robcole.com - FTPAggregator
    and experiment with settings tester:
To get here, you have to click 'View / Edit Additional Settings' (in plugin manager), then choose 'New' or 'Edit' from 'Sync Pairs' drop-down menu.
If test is unsuccessful, enable verbose logging (top section of plugin manager), and review the log file after test, or send to me.
If you have a problem running plugin, please contact me directly:

  • Flash Web Gallery HELP

I decided to create a website to showcase some of my graphic
design work and I have been stumped for over three weeks of how to
insert a flash web gallery. I bought this gallery from Entheosweb
awhile ago and have been trying to correspond with their customer
service but to no avail. I created a basic layout in photoshop with
a simple header and footer and a body thats at least 840 x 490
(dimensions of the gallery). I've been using dreamweaver to upload
the files to my web host and when I exhange the code of the gallery
for the image (body) code it is uploaded but cannot be seen on
    http://www.al-burke.com. You
can actually right click the gallery and press play and it will
appear. Will this happen for all visitors to the site? Also, I am
not sure where to put the images and the important files of the
gallery in my root folder. Thanks for your help.

I tried access the URL provide, however, it appears you've
    emptied your root directory.

  • Help- how do I make images ready for web gallery??

    Hi,
I am trying to create a photo gallery of images within Bridge using the Adobe Web Gallery feature. I have the images I want to use in a folder. What steps do I need to take to get the images saved in the correct format and file size? Also, what files sizes do you recommend for a web gallery? I need to make medium to large thumbnails & large images (when clicked). Here's what I am thinking I need in terms of getting this right:
use Adobe Photoshop/Bridge to create the gallery
    jpg for photos
    gif for solid colors
file size under 2MB (full image), under 20-30K for (thumbnails), total size of all images under 50K (no more than 50 sec. to download)
    screen size: 984x728
    screen resolution: 72dpi
If you could help me in any way, shape or form concerning making my images ready for a web gallery that would be most helpful. And if you can refer me to any resources on making a web gallery that'd be awesome. Thank you!
