Web Identity Plate Sizing Issue

I am using a web engine from Lightroomgalleries.com called LRG FSS Select. But my issue happens with the flash engines that came with Lightroom originally. The pixel height of 57 for the identity plate is really limiting! I've seen some work around in the Print module to move text on the photo, however I'm using an image. No matter what size I make the image Lightroom resizes it so small that the text is barely readable. Follow this link to see what I'm talking about...
This is the identity plate I get using a Flash Engine.  http://www.tuanlee.com/weddings/
This is the identity plate I get using an HTML Engine.  http://www.tuanlee.com/weddingsnonflash/
Is there some sort of trick to make the Flash identity plate the same size at the identity plate I get when I use an HTML engine. What am I missing here?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone have any experience with this?  Is this something that contacting Adobe directly with would help?

  • Identity plate printing issue - not ALWAYS printing

I use Lightroom heavily for printing onsite at events.  Specifically, I have a template set up for printing 16 shots per 8.5x11  so that I can cut them up into 4 vertical strips (ie.  Photobooth strips).  I have an identity plate set up so that each strip will have a logo at the bottom.  With hundreds of people coming through, I have a workflow where I simply choose 16 shots (or multiples of 16) in the print module and start the print job.  It works well for me 97% of the time.
The issue arises when, for whatever random reason, a sheet will come out of the printer and the identity plate wasn't printed!  In other words, I have 4 strips that don't have a logo on them.  Its not that I'm not checking the option for printing the identity plate, I never touch the settings.  In fact, there are times where I'll send a print job of several pages (ie. some multiple of 16 pictures) and most of the printouts will have the identity plate, but only one page is missing it.
This becomes an issue because in my workflow, the speed of printing is really the bottleneck.  I'm constantly processing the new shots taken and sending them off to print.  So when I get a printout that doesn't have the identity plate, I have to stop all the processing of the new, incoming pictures and wait until the printer finishes with the last job that was sent (which could be a while) and then put the errant sheet back in and print using the same Lightroom template on 16 white images so that it'll just print the identity plate.
At every event of 3-5 hours, this happens between 1 and 3 times and each time is enough to set me back a few minutes, which causes the people who just took their images to get antsy as their printouts become delayed.  I generally like my workflow and I like using Lightroom to print (especially because I apply some presets to each image before printing), but this issue is driving me nuts.  I'd just like it to do what's expected 100% of the time!
Has anyone had any experience with something like this?  or point me in the right direction?  I'm using Lightroom 1.4.  Thank you!

  • Bug: Identity plate not added to printed output (or file)

I recently conducted an offsite photoshoot that required proofs to be printed with contact and ordering information, etc. I set up a series of custom 2-up print templates, with the email address as a watermark over each photo, and an 4x6 PNG background image with the contact/ordering information as an identity plate (set to "Render behind image"). This works beautifully in most circumstances, however, about 20% of the time, the proofs are printed without the watermark. This is quite frustrating because it wastes ink, paper, and more importantly, time.
I tried every combination of settings, formats, preset options, etc., and I cannot find any one particular reason for this error; and it seems to happen completely at random. In fact, if a proof prints with a missing background and I press the Print button again, it will print properly the second time (most of the time!).
I have even tried Print to File, but this method also suffers from the same problem -- although it seems to happen less frequenly. At least with this method, I can see if the background is missing before printing.
Note: This bug exists in both the latest release version, as well as the initial LR4 beta.

I tried drag and drop before.
In trying again, made the image smaller then the max high and it works now. (note: it's been awhile since I tried this, so the machine has had several updates to the OS and several reboots, so there is a possibility of something else, like a bad driver, getting fixed that resolved this issue)

  • Lightroom crashes every time I try to change the font color of my identity plate

I use the LRB portfolio plugin to create my website. Every time I try to change the color of my identity plate, lightroom crashes immediately. I can change the font and size without the problem, only a color change causes the crash. I tried to trash the plugin, but it still behaved the same way. Can anyone help me with this problem?

    Hi Sean,
thanks for answering. No, it crashes anyway. I tried changing the identity plate color in all different modules. I was able to change it once when I had just bought a new computer and installed Lightroom, but now I can't. I wonder if there are any cache files or anything causing this. Unfortunately I don't know enough about this to fix it myself. I wondered whether LRB is causing a problem simply by having it installed, but as I said, after I removed it from the Web Galleries folder, the problem still occurred. Is there any way to recreate the identity plate in Photoshop (same font and size etc.) and reimport it into Lightroom? I need to finish my website and my name is sol light, it is barely legible. Any fix or workaround would be appreciated.

  • Buttons missing in HDR Pro & Lightroom Identity Plate Anomoly

    Hello,
This is intended as a bug report, but if there is anyone with info on how to fix this, I would appreciate a reply.
    I am using Photoshop CS5 12.01 and Lightroom 3.0 in a Macbook Pro 15.4".
First, When using HDR Pro, the OK/Cancel buttons are missing from the dialog.  I have tried
a possible fix listed online (to rename the preferences file and then lanch Photoshop again) but this
does not work.  The only way I can see the buttons is to keep my dock on the left side of the screen
which I do not want to do.  I understand I can simply press the "Enter" button to apply the settings and
exit the dialog, but this is not a fix to the problem.  The software should be fixed.
Second, when I have Lightroom and PS both open, and I switch between the applications, I notice that sometimes
my custom Identity Plate (a png logo) remains at the top of the screen and overlaps the PS application
window/menu bar area.  This is a very annoying problem.  It's as if the applications are not properly refreshing the
    screen or something.
    PLEASE FIX these bugs.
    Thank you,
    Rico.

Here is the official KnowledgeBase document for the issue.
Feedback on this workaround is appreciated.

  • Identity Plate TOO SMALL in Lightroom Flash Galleries

In Lightroom Flash Galleries, the size of the Identity Plate is very limited, much smaller than that possible with the HTML Galleries.I've tried reconfiguring the layout, using a different template, using an image for the ID Plate, but the problem persists.
It's a big problem because the Flash Galleries are pretty much useless as is.

    Thanks Sean
Kind of harsh I guess. The Flash Galleries are great except my logo (a simple line of text) can only appear as small type (14pt I'd guess), and only justified to the left. This is visually unacceptable for a site that clients, etc. will go to. So I can't use it for what I need. I guess some might be able to use it, but for what I need to do it is effectively useless. Which is too bad because I like the rest of the Lightroom Web experience a lot.

  • URL linik for Identity Plate

I like the look and features of the Night Life LR flash template in the Web
Gallery, with the exception that the identify plate does not have a
provision for adding a link back to the home page. Is it possible to edit
the flash template so that it will attach a URL link to the identity plate?
    Best,
    Christopher

I found this information on the bluefire blog ...<br /><br />Make your Site Title or Collection Title a link: (This is the text that <br />shows up in the header of the gallery) you can't add the link from within <br />LR, but it is really easy to do in a text editor. Simply open the group.xml <br />file of an exported gallery in notepad or some other simple text editor and <br />put a link tag in either place and save it. eg: <a <br />href="http://blog.bluefire.tv">bluefire blog</a><br /><br />Best,<br />Christopher

  • Color Space Identity Plates

What color space should Identity Plates be in. Considering the fact that I do not know the working color space I am working in Lightroom with raw files. I am concerned about color space mismatches when printing (in the print module) a raw file and identity plate in a layout. How does Lightroom handle two files printed simultaneously like this in a layout. What is converted to what before it is converted to my printer profile. As it stands I have identity plates stored on disk as sRGB and they seem to be printing slightly darker than they should. Have tried converting them to a 1.8 (Prophoto) gamma space and no change.

In my experience, LR just does the right thing and translates whatever you have to the printer profile. It always comes out just right. Your observation seems to support that as you see no difference between sRGB and ppRGB. The difference in darkness might simply be a small calibration or monitor brightness issue.

  • Bug: identity plate setup

This is just a small bug but annoying to me because of the font I use in the identity plate.
When setting the Identity plate, the program ignores the style drop down  (centre one ) for the module picker buttons.
It simply uses the first default style.
The specific font I use is P22 DaVinci, and the default style is "backwards" which makes the font very difficult to read. It works fine in the identity plate itself, but not in the module picker selection.
I have tried other fonts, including system supplied fonts and the problem is consistent.
    Macbook Pro 2.4GHz i5, OSX 10.6.8 , 8GbRAM
    LR4.0 Beta -800002 Camera RAW 7.0 64Biy

I tried drag and drop before.
In trying again, made the image smaller then the max high and it works now. (note: it's been awhile since I tried this, so the machine has had several updates to the OS and several reboots, so there is a possibility of something else, like a bad driver, getting fixed that resolved this issue)

  • Identity-plate in print-tab is not visible

In the print-tab (lightroom 5, mac) I can choose to print an identity plate. Used to work well, but now it doens't show (I checked the box). How can I fixe this?
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Om Prakasah,
If I understanding correctly, you created a ReportViewer report, but you can’t see print icon when you run the report in browser. If so, please follow these steps:
If you can’t see the print icon either when running the report in visual studio, you may have set ShowPrintButton to False in Properties window, then please set it to True.
If there is print icon in visual studio but not in browser, please update the .NET Framework on your web server to the latest version, because the print icon is by default hidden in some version of browser. For more information, you can refer to the relevant
    link below:

If the problem is not resolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed description of your problem, it’s better to provide the version of ReportViewer and browser, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
    Thanks,

  • How to Position Identity Plate Overlay in Print Module?

When I print portraits, I want to include my name and date overlaying the portrait in the lower right hand corner. Currently I have to open the file in Photoshop and add this to the portrait. I saved the text information (name and date) in a transparent tiff and imported the into LR's print module identity plate. The problem is that the graphic is displayed in the middle of the portrait. Is there some way that the identity plate overlay can be positioned exactly where I want it (the lower right hand corner)?
I recently did a portrait sitting for a large family reunion that involves seven different family portraits being printed in 4 different sizes. If I could position the identity plate exactly where I want, this would save me a lot of time instead of having to add this in PS.

Hopefully this will be improved drastically in the final release of version 2. In an earlier thread, I asked about printing that used to work in Lr 1.2 and stopped working in Lr 1.3. An Adobe engineer replied it was a known bug. I am also a pro photographer and love Lightroom. jc

  • How do I avoid sizing issues with a Bevel?

I am designing a logo for a startup business, and a beveled filter really looks nice for this particular company. The client really likes what I came up with. The problem is the filter seems to cause sizing issues. Enlarging it is creating ugly pixelation. Is there a method for avoiding this, or can I simply not use a bevel?
    Thanks.

  • Feature request : time to show identity plates in a slideshow when 'Fit to music' is selected.

When using the 'Fit to music' option in a slideshow, and with one, or both options to show identiy plates selected, then the ability to choose an independent length of time to show the identity plates would be useful. Possibly even a different length of time for the intro and ending identity plates.
At the moment if you choose 'Fit to music' the time each slide is shown is also used for the identity plates. When you only have a few images, compared to the length of the music, this means that the identity plates are shown for too long on the screen.

For that ind of precision and flexiblity make your slideshow in an app like iMovie, PhotoToMovie or Final Cut Express.

  • Changing font size in Slideshow module identity plate

Do the following steps to reproduce the bug in LR 3.3:
Select an image then go the the Slideshow module
In the "Titles" section make Intro screen and Identity Plate visible
Modify the plate's text to something different than the default
Change the font size to 72pt
    Now, preview.
The program always defaults to 36pt.
Edit: Scaling is working, though; but at the same scale changing the font size has no effect at all.

    Sala, hello. How are you?
Unfortunately there is no way to change the font size for that ActiveX control. Sorry for being the harbinger of this news.

  • Moving Identity Plate with Arrow Keys

I have always been able to move my identity plate around using the arrow keys. For some reason, it doesn't work any more. I am using Lightroom 2.3. I know that this is a small problem, but I sure would like to know how to remedy this. Thanks!

    Hi Ken,
This is how I have done it.
    1. Create identity plate in Illustrator and save as an Illustrator file = .ai
    2. Go to Overlays in Lightroom and check Identity Plate
    3. Within the Identity Plate checkered box, you will see a pull-down menu on the bottom right
    4. Select Edit
    5. Select the radio button: "Use a graphical Identity Plate"
    6. Locate the ai file and select Choose (You might not see anything in the window, but don't worry about that
    7. Select Custom
    8. Choose Save As and give it a name
    9. Select OK
Now, when you go into that checkered box within the Identity Plate window, you will now see your new Identity Plate (ai graphic) listed. Select it, and it will be displayed on your photograph. Sometimes, I have to select it twice (not sure why) for the resolution to be high quality. Good luck and let me know how it works out.
