Web Inspector missing - won't work

Hi,
This has been bugging me for sometime now. I can't seem to get Web Inspector to open. I have the button and the develop tab on Safari 7, but when I click on it, nothing happens. I know it must be somewhere and that I must of hit the keys wrong, but I can't figure out how to bring it back. Any ideas?

Troubleshooting extensions and third party plug-ins.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.

We have the at&t/yahoo homepage fixed where we can check our other email account. On this page, I have just a color theme and all of the news items disabled. We have had this for three years now. Just a few days ago we noticed that when we use the search bar that is included in the middle of the page that the enter button won't work. I usually type and hit enter as opposed to clicking on the mouse button. I do have the search assistant on. I tried to disable that, but it didn't help. I have a couple of other search toolbars and they work fine with the keyboard. It's just convenient especially for my husband to have it this way. I have searched the internet for several days and have come close to what I thought would be the answer but nothing has worked yet. Most of the questions/answers were old anyway. It might not have anything to do with Firefox, I just didn't know where else to ask questions too.

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

Quick Time, Animated Web and IPhoto won't work

This MacBook won't run animated Web sites, like YouTube, or school text books -- nothing appears in the space where the animation should occur. There is not a question mark on Quick Time. We've updated Quick Time and made sure the Flash Enabled box is unchecked in the Advanced settings. We updated Flash, too.
IPhoto won't display the different special effects or options to use on photos.
We've had problems with this MacBook since it was new, returning it twice for a black screen, new hard drive once, new battery once, reloaded everything last attempt after it deleted sporatic system files. Problems started within 90 days of purchase and we are very frustrated that Apple won't replace it. We've had a problem every month -- any suggestions on how to get Apply to replace it or to fix the most recent problem of Animations not running on Web sites or IPhoto working properly?

Reason locate missing won't work?-V9

I've got a messed up iTunes library and am in the process of manually fixing it. Double click on a song with an exclamation point. Could not be used because it couldn't be found dialog, press locate, navigate to the now correct location of the album song (in the Finder), then it asks if it would like to use this location to find other missing files, click Find Files, and it can't find any more. Even though the ones I'm looking for are in the very same folder Music>iTunes>Artist>Album>Song1, Song2, etc...
I have to manually find each song. Is there a corruption in the library, or a mis-understanding on my part of how this should work?

Never mind. Just figured it out. If a file name has a symbol in the name, it won't find them.
iTunes Library Name:
Fist Part of Song Name / Second Part of Song Name.m4p
Finder Name:
Fist Part of Song Name _ Second Part of Song Name.m4p
Manually finding that one song works, but not in a batch find.

Safari 6: What happened to "Activity" view? Also Web Inspector Network view doesn't work.

I "upgraded" to Safari 6 and while it's super-fast and snappy as ****, I'm missing two features:
1) Activity view is gone! It was the easiest way to see what kind of crap websites are loading and you could double click on files and view them. Now that's gone.
2) I then tried using Web Inspector to try to track down a FLV file that was being loaded (something that worked with old Safari) and I couldn't do it anymore... Flash loading is not visible in Safari 6 and yet it was in previous Safari.
Ugh... new Safari is a great but they took two of my favorite options
Is there something I'm missing or are these features really gone?

If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
Check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
And try uninstalling the currently installed Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All

Firefox froze up. So I removed from computer and reloaded. If I close Firefox, can't restart by clicking on the icon. Have to end process in Task Manager. It then starts. Some links on some web pages won't work.

As I say in the question I don't know what happened but Firefox just stopped operating and then became erratic. So I removed the firefox programme from my computer and reloaded Firefox.
It now runs normally but I can't run Firefox on two tabs, only one, and if I close it down during a session I can't reopen it using the desk top icon. I go to task manager, processes, and end process for Firefox - then I can start it using the icon on the desktop.
I have also noticed that some links on a web page won't work - javascript is involved.

It sounds like you are getting in a hurry.
If you force Firefox to close in a hurry, then it won't normally start until you re-start the computer. There are ways around this, but I'm not going to go into them right now.
None-force way to close Firefox down: Close the program and wait. Do something else. Firefox appears as if it is closed, but it's not. Firefox cleans out cookies and it's cache after you close it. That takes a few minutes. You can't restart it while it's doing house cleaning.
After it is done, then you can restart Firefox normally. You can watch it in the Task Manager.
The same applies if you are installing javascript. You have to wait a few minutes.
As for running it with multiple tabs, I usually have 5 or 6, or more, tabs open at a time. Have no idea what the problem is there. Firefox needs special permission by use of a pop-up option to close with multiple tabs open.

I have paid for this service for a year and it never worked on my computer. I just renewed and it finally converted the file but it will not let me edit it. I join you in being bummed. Either I get help with this or I am asking for a 2 year refund. My intention was to be able to edit a pdf in MS Word.

It opens half hidden.I get an error which has something to do with the iframe. However, if show the Web Inspector and refresh the page, it works fine.
Is it something with my Safari? Is this how others see it as well?

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Expression Web 4 Super Preview won't work with Firefox?

I get an error message in Microsoft Expression Web 4 Super Preview telling me it won't work with my version of Firefox (the latest version). Does this mean I have to install an older version to be able to use my Expression Web site building program?

Problem identified and solved. The new Expression Web 4 Super Preview softward had not been properly activated. Now it is and everything is working very well. Thank You for having this useful means of working out a solution. I'll be using it in the future.

No Rosetta to make apps work but its not as simple as upgrading apps and missing lost dogs pics from iCloud...HELP!

File a complaint with Apple for not giving adequate warning before upgrading OS X that it would render PPC programs dead.
That someone at Apple said requiring the iPhone 5 to have 10.8 (10.6.8 is the minimum actually) and in order to remain a loyal Apple customer they need to fix this mess and revert your machine and software back to 10.6.8
You see, 10.6.8 would have ran your iPhone 5 and ran your PPC based software, so whoever told you to upgrade to 10.8 was wrong and they need to fix your machine.
It can be reverted to 10.6.8 yourself.

Safari 6: Webkit Web Inspector doesn't work

I updated Safari to 6 on Lion.
After that, I experiences some crash, then Webkit Web Inspector got broken.
I can do nothing with it.
The new Safari original inspector works.
Also, Delete key doesn't make "Back". Is it normal?
Anyone knows how to fix or repair Safari?
I did try "Reset Safari" but it didn't help. Disabling extension and plugins also didn't help.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
