Web Mapping Server (WMS)

HI,
Does anyone know if there are any WMS (OCG compliant) server in conjuction with Mapviewer?
I looking for a WMS server thatuses Mapviewer for generating the maps and working with Spatial.
Jurgen

There are many WMS' that work with Spatial.
Do you need an incomplete list?
There isn't one yet that works with MapViewer. That is one which accepts a WMS GetMap request, and uses MapViewer to render the map from Spatial, and returns a WMS response.

  • Web map server - data in Oracle Spatial

We are searching for "web map server" which take data directly from Oracle Spatial (Locator). For this project the tools like ESRI ArcSDE, ArcIMS are too expensive. What are other product on the market? It should provide basic map navigation, spatial querying (klick on the map shows atribute data of features in active layers), serching by atributes.
    Regards,
    Sašo

Oracle's web map server product is the Application Server 10g MapViewer. See www.oracle.com/technology/products/mapviewer/index.html
For other mapping products that work with Spatial/Locator see

  • Web Proxy Server Load Balancing

I deployed Sun Jave Web Proxy Server 4.0 as a Reverse Proxy. I would also like to use it as a load balancer. As per the instructions, I configured the obj.conf file as shown below
    Route fn="set-origin-server" server="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" server="https:yy.yy.yy.yy" sticky-cookie="JSESSIONID" sticky-param="jsessionid" route-hdr="Proxy-jroute" route-cookie="JROUTE" rewrite-host="true" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
But, it is not doing load balancing. It always sends to the first server (xx.xx.xx.xx). I guess that is because I used mapping as follows:
    NameTrans fn="reverse-map" from="https:xx.xx.xx.xx" to="https://server.net" rewrite-location="true" rewrite-content-location="true"
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="http://server" url="https://xx.xx.xx.xx"
    NameTrans fn="map" from="https://server" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1" NameTrans fn="map" from="/" to="https://xx.xx.xx.xx" rewrite-host="true" name="pa-server-farm1"PathCheck fn="url-check"ObjectType fn="block-ip"
    ObjectType fn="cache-enable" cache-auth="1" cache-https="1" query-maxlen="0" min-size="0" Service fn="proxy-retrieve"
I don't understand how routing and mapping work togother. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

    Motor,
the following is from the Web Proxy Sever Administration guide. Please, check the last paragraph for the explanation. Any how, the problem is simple. I am using the Proxy Server as the Reverse proxy. And at the same time, I would like to use two origin servers (for load balancing) instead of one. How do I make both load balancing and reverse proxy functions work together?
    Thanks
To Create Regular or Reverse Mapping
Access the Server Manager, and click the URLs tab.
    Click the Create Mapping link.
The Create Mapping page is displayed.
In the page that appears, provide the source prefix and source destination for the regular mapping,
    for example,
    Source prefix: http://proxy.site.com
    Source destination: http://http.site.com/
    Click OK.
Return to the page and create the reverse mapping, for example,
    Reverse mapping:
    Source prefix: http://http.site.com/
    Source destination: http://proxy.site.com/
To make the change, click OK.
Once you click the OK button, the proxy server adds one or more additional mappings. To see the mappings, click the lView/Edit Mappings link. Additional mappings would be in the following format:
    from: /
    to: http://http.site.com/
These additional automatic mappings are for users who connect to the reverse proxy as a normal server. The first mapping is to catch users connecting to the reverse proxy as a regular proxy. The / mapping is added only if the user doesn't change the contents of the Map Source Prefix text box provided automatically by the Administration GUI. Depending on the setup, usually the second mapping is the only one required, but the extra mapping does not cause problems in the proxy.

  • Mapviewer/Mapbuilder versus other map serving products

Mapviewer/Mapbuilder versus other map serving products
Oracle Mapviewer is an attractive map serving option for organisations that have large data holdings in Oracle Spatial. Similarly, Mapbuilder is very useful for cartographic assembly of data to be delivered via Mapviewer.
Are other map serving options or cartogarphic tools for web mapping worth considering?
I'd appreciate peoples views/links on how Mapviewer and Mapbuilder compare with other map serving products?
    Thanks.

I'd also be very interested to know if using MapViewer gives you better Oracle Spatial performance then with say MapServer (from UMN). Our company has a UMN MapServer setup and we're using some Oracle Spatial data to populate this as well and I see a lot of performance decrease when trying to use Oracle Spatial data. One nice thing about UMN MapServer is the fact that it's free and supports many type of GIS data. There are also quite a few application frameworks available for developing a client front-end. We use Chameleon currently.
I would like to know what other people are using with Oracle Spatial.

In short here's the scenario and main problem.
    a. Proxy admin server start - no problem
    b. Create a new manage server (no proxying - just testing it) using different port. It just won't start. No logs produced either.
Here's the server.xml for the new manage server.

    Would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Yes. This is really odd.
Anyway to make the whole story short, i uninstall this proxy server 4.0.2 on this server (say server1) and try to reinstall a new proxy 4.0.13 but having odd problem (i have administration rights)
    Here it goes.
    a. CMD java -version is 1.4.2_XX
    b. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe - nothing happen.
    c. CMD setup --javahome c:\jdk1.6_XX - nothing happen
    Here retrying.
    a. Login to server2 and map conection to server1
    b. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe on server1 (while on server2) - setup.exe runs. This proves the proxy setup.exe on server1 is good.
    c. Make a copy of proxy 4.0.13 on server2
    d. Login to server1 and map connection to server2
    e. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe on server2 (while on server1) - setup.exe did not run.
Both servers are on the same domain and i'm using same ID to access both servers
Again, no logs on the windows events (security, application, system)
This is becoming mind a boggling mystery.
    Any idea what's going on?
    Thanks.

  • Problem on Setting up a Reverse Proxy on Web Proxy Server 4.0.1

After you setup a reverse proxy using Web Proxy Server 4.0.1, if you get the following error --

You will have to do the following step manually, what provided in the manual is misleading --
Sun Java System Web Proxy Server 4 .0.1 Administration Guide 2005Q4

    5. To make the change, click OK.
Once you click the OK button, the proxy server adds one or more additional
mappings. To see the mappings, click the link called View/Edit Mappings.
Additional mappings would be in the following format:
    from: /

  • JDev Integrated Web Logic Server fails

I'm a newbie with WLS. I've installed JDEV 11.1.1.3 in Windows XP SP3, and installed extensions for Webcenter.
Now trying to go through webcenter tutorial, I arrived at point where I'm trying to run a small application,
but nothing works. I've searched and searched the internet for clues, help, and tried multiple things, but nothing helps.
First, I get the warning message
    Warning> <Server> <BEA-002611> <Hostname "XXX", maps to multiple IP addresses: 10.10.10.10, 169.254.25.129, 192.168.2.6
and then when I disable all the network connections for these IPs, just to see if this would help,
then the server appears to start successfully, but the tutorial app that compiled successfully does not start to run in any brower.
I go through the properties of the Application Server for the Integrated Web Logic Server to test the connection and I get
    Testing JSR-160 Runtime ... failed.
    Cannot establish connection.
    Testing JSR-160 DomainRuntime ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88 ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-88-LOCAL ... skipped.
    Testing JNDI ... skipped.
    Testing JSR-160 Edit ... skipped.
    Testing HTTP ... failed.
Unable to open conection: Connection refused: connect
Testing Server MBeans Model ... skipped.
I have no clue, and trying different configurations does not help.
I need a WebLogic for Dummies guide. Anyone have some clue ?

Thanks Ravi Jegga for looking at my post. Here's some info.

  • Does Discoverer work with BEA Web logic Server ?

We are planning to get Oracle Discoverer as an BI Tool and
BEA WebLogic Server as the web application server.
I am just interested to know if anybody using Oracle Discoverer
as an application tool against BEA WebLogic Server in the Middle Tier
    and Oracle 8i/9i database.
    I will appreciate the help.
    Thanks.

Could someone kindly follow this and find us a solution?
              Thank you.

  • Servlet class not found error deploying a WAR on Web Logic Server 8.1

I'm re-deploying an updated web application to a web logic server, but when I navigate to the login page of the web application to test it, I get a class not found error for my login servlet. I have both the web.xml and the weblogic.xml descriptors in my WEB-INF directory, and all of my compiled classes are in the WEB-INF/classes directory, is there something else I'm missing? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the response. Here's the web.xml file:
    <?xml version="1.0" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd">

    <servlet-class>LoginServlet</servlet-class>

    </servlet-mapping>
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>Login.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    </web-app>
None of the classes are in a package (I know it's not the best idea, but I didn't write these, I'm just doing some updates). So the file structure is pretty much just WEB-INF/classes/
At the moment I've got a fix by just putting the entire project (not in any sort of archive) on the server itself instead of deploying it as a WAR, any thoughts on why the WAR isn't working would be much appreciated though.

  • Web file server?

hello, i'm trying to set up a web file server at work right now.  it has to be easy enough to use so that someone without knowledge of htaccess, servers, can upload files and changes permissions.
currently, i'm running lighttpd with directory listing.  i also wrote up a quick c# script to automatically rsync with a shared windows resource.  i parse some _passwd.txt files and i restart lighttpd if anything changes.
    yeah...not very efficient...
are there any good tools out there that serves the basic web file server with authentication?
i've looked into some CMS systems, but they are all overkill...i don't need the news/forums/blah blah blah.
    thanks.

We had a similar issue with the requirements that the users had to have a fimiliar user interface and I had to have a secure athentication method. WebDav was out because of the way it worked in a multiuser environment.
So what we did is this: We create a user on the webserver using the same user name that exists on the windows machines. I compiled rssh and this allows for ssh encripted file transfers without shell access (they get it if they ask, instead of /bin/bash use /usr/local/bin/rssh in /etc/passwd), athentication on the Linux side is via PAM to the windows DC(allows for the user to use their windows password). Then something called "webdrive" is installed on each windows PC (don't think it's free - I haven't seen or used it), but what it does is to allow for "mapping a drive" on the users PC but connects to the webserver using SSH. So far the users like it because it behaves just like mapping any other drive - something that they are used to using.
Don't know if that helps but it works for us.

  • Web Proxy Server

an body explain me what is web proxy server ?

    Motor,
the following is from the Web Proxy Sever Administration guide.

  • Using Office Web Apps Server with SharePoint Foundation 2013

I want to know whether I can configure Office Web Apps server to edit Excel documents on a SharePoint Foundation 2013 site.
I came across a TechNet article that states that "When used together with SharePoint Server 2013, Office Web Apps Server provides updated versions of Word Web App, Excel Web App, PowerPoint Web App, and OneNote Web App".
However, later in the same article, it states "If your organization licenses Office 2013 through a Volume Licensing program, you can enable Office Web Apps editing for SharePoint 2013 on-premises" (without mentioning Foundation or Server).

    Hi Lemesnil,
The Office Web App server should support the Edit licenses for SharePoin Foundation 2013, Office Web App is free to
download, you can also try installing and configuring in a test environment, see more from the below article applied to SharePoint Foundation 2013.

  • What is the Diffrence between Adaptive and Webi Job Server

    Hello,
What is the diffrence between Adaptive Job server and Webi Job server?
In my BO server we didn't have Webi Job server but we are able to schedule the webi reports successfully.
    Any Idea on this.
    Thanks,
    Nimesh.

I believe the Adaptive Job Server is on a generic shell server that behave as a Webi Job Server when it processes webi reports, as a program job server when it processes program object etc.

    Hi Folks,
I am trying to install Office Web Apps Server 2013 with SP1 on Server 2012 R2.  The installation gets half way through then crashes (it just says a problem has occurred).

Exception Code 0x306d7363, Faulting process id: 0x774.
Does anyone know how to install this product on Server 2012 R2?

I’m afraid that this case is off-topic in this forum, About installation of Office Web Apps Server 2013, I suggest you posting your case to
