Web module option: Upload to Photoshop Express website.

Now that Adobe has released for public use the new nifty site, Photoshop Express, it would be wonderful if Lightroom could be used to upload to, and manage my Photoshop Express online albums.
Perhaps this feature is already in the works. But it seems like a great fit.

Firewall? Server side problems? Even though LR's FTP client connects to your server it doesn't always mean the server will accept uploads from it. I find that there are more problems with LR's FTP and firewall and port forwarding settings than any other FTP application I have ever used! I usually export galleries and use Dreamweaver to upload....any FTP application will work better than LR's!!!

  • How do I use the Web module to upload video to my website?

I'm using the Lightroom HTML gallery to upload my photos, fine and dandy, very happy with it. I also have some videos trimmed in Lightroom that I want incorporated into the gallery. This doesn't seem to be happening, instead I just get thumbnails. What/how do I incorporate my video clips into my web gallery? I moved over from jAlbum so I could have a simple one-tool workflow, so I'm really hoping that this is possible.

You can combine stills and video for output to h.264 (mp4 file) for example to upload to Youtube or Vimeo.
FTP upload will be subject to the limitations of your host. The web module within Lightroom creates all resources to link to the file index.html
The forthcoming LR6 is anticipated to have HTML5 galleries.

I want to use the Web module to publish to the a website... What kind of server do I need to be able to publish my website?

You don't need a server, you just need a web hosting package such as the ones from GoDaddy or many other hosts. You then send the web gallery directly from LR to your web space.
As you're asking such basic questions, it might be best if you read articles like this and see if a friend or colleague can get you started.

  • How do I slice an image for a web banner and upload it to my website?

Hi there! I am trying to slice an image into a web banner to upload it as the headed to my website layout. I have previously done this before, but a few months ago my computer crashed and I lost everything. I have a new computer now (Macbook Pro running 10.9.3) and downloaded a free trial of CS6. I vaguely remember what I am doing but am apparently way out of practice.
I have tried at least a dozen different times to slice the banner and add the links, but for one, it keeps showing up with gaps in the image when I try and preview it on my computer. I cannot figure out why. Secondly, when I try to save it for the web as HTML and images, it is not working. It keeps saying something about needing to replace targets, etc. I am honestly lost and when I had originally made my website two years ago I don't remember it being nearly this difficult. I have some moderate HTML/CSS web design skills but I'm not sure if I am having a brainfart or what.
Secondly, I cannot get the files to upload properly to my web server. I use FatCow as my host if this makes any difference. I've been watching tutorials on Youtube and trying to refresh my memory but I am so lost.
    Thanks!

Can you save images via Tools > Page Info > Media ?
The usual way to save an image is via the right-click context menu > Save Image as.<br />

  • Can I change the order in which photos are displayed when uploaded using Photoshop Express?

When I upload new photos to an existing album they displayed after existing photos. I need new photos to be displayed before existing photos. It is in the nature of the work that I do. My customers need to locate their photos with minimal effort. Is there a way to set the program to accomplish this?

    What is Photoshop Express?

  • Need help using WEB module in Lightroom 2 for .mac/mobile me accounts

    Hello,
I need help in finding the Server path information for Lightroom 2.  I am trying to use the Web module of Lightroom and build a website and instead of going through another hosting service, I want to use my Mobile ME account, can't I do that?
I have the user name and password obviously but what is the server path, protocol, path?
    Help please!
    Thanks
    Ray

For those Mac Users using iWeb, MobileMe, and Lightroom 2, here are step-by-step instructions on how to create a web gallery in Lightroom, upload the gallery to MobileMe, and finally, how to link the uploaded files to the wesite you created in iWeb.
    1. In the Lightroom Library module, create a collection of photos you want to display in your web gallery.  For illustration purposes, we will call your collection Sunsets.  Once created, it will be listed under Collections in the left panel of Lightroom.
    2. Switch to the Lightroom Web module and select the Sunsets collection (from the panel on the left of the screen.)
    3. Chose whichever template you like (from the list of Templates in the left panel).
    4. Fine tune the appearance of the gallery using the controls in the right hand panel of Lightroom 2.
    5. When you are satisfied with the gallery’s appearance, use your keyboard to type Command-S.  That will save your template settings (give it a unique name when saving).
    6. Open up Finder on your Mac.  Inside your username folder, create a new folder… I'll call it Web Files.  (You can choose any name you like, and locate the file anywhere on your Mac HD.)  You have just created the folder username/Web Files.
    7. Back in the Lightroom Web module, chose Export, at the bottom of the right panel, and export your gallery to the folder you just made (e.g. export to username/Web Files).  By doing so, you will have created /username/Web Files/Sunsets.
    8. Once again open Finder on your Mac.  Go to /username/Web Files/Sunsets and you will see 3 files in the Sunsets folder: bin, index.html, and resources.
    9. Open a second Finder window and in it, click on your iDisk icon.  You will soon see all of the files on your iDisk.
    10. In iDisk, click on the folder called /Web.  You will now see the /Sites folder inside the /Web folder.  I.e., /Web/Sites.
    11. Drag the Sunsets file from your Mac HD to the /Sites folder on your iDisk.  E.g, drag Sunsets from /username/Web Files/Sunsets on your Mac HD to the /Sites folder in iDisk /Web/Sites.  The Sunsets folder (and the three files it contains) will now upload to your iDisk on MobileMe.
    12. Open iWeb on your Mac. Add a new page to your website.  Call it “Galleries,” or anything you like. (You can also use an existing page if you wish.)
    13.  On that “Galleries” web page (or on an existing web page), create a picture icon, or a word, or a symbol, or anything else that you will activate as a hyperlink to your iDisk web files - specifically, you will link it to the Sunsets folder you just uploaded to iDisk.
    14. Activate the hyperlink in iWeb’s Inspector.  In the URL box, type:
http://web.me.com/username/Sunsets  (Don’t forget to substitute your name for “username” and the name of your gallery for “Sunsets.”)
    15. Save your website in iWeb, and then publish your site.
You will NOT see your gallery in iWeb – you will see only the link to the gallery that you uploaded to iDisk..  To view your gallery, either make hyperlinks active, using the Inspector in iWeb and click on he link to the gallery, or visit your website on the internet.  If you want to edit your gallery, you will have to do that in Lightroom… then repeat steps 7 – 11.  You cannot edit your gallery in iWeb, but you can use iWeb to change the appearance of the link to your gallery, or to change it’s location within your website.

  • Video in the Web Module

Lightroom does a nice job with video in the Library Module but it would be very useful to to be able to also use the Web Module and upload the video to share and review online. I use the web module a lot

You can upload to websites such as YouTube or Flickr.  If you're wanting to integrate them into an existing gallery, you could add a feature request at the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Forum

  • Web Module: Semi Odd Request

I work as a web developer for a photographer and during a recent conversation, we were discussing the Web module in Lightroom (1.1). The studio's site was created in Flash and the photographer is using the Web module to upload a Flash based gallery to the server. This all work beautifully. Now here's the catchy part...
When designing the studio's site, I wrote a neat little chunk of code that hides any jpeg content on the screen if certain keys were hit...prevents print screening for PC users (sadly no such luck on Mac's with Grab installed) which is about 90% of our market base. For us it works.
The real questions though... Probably Adobe only questions but...
    1. Is it possible to simply load the flash document that the Web module creates and not use the HTML document at all?
    2. Will this in anyway affect whether or not the images appear after the swf is loaded by loading the flash file externally?
I simply want to know because then I could encapsulate these "proofing/preview" sites into the rest of the script and give the photographer what he wants in terms of a pseudo-security.

This is a very important sticking point. Have you figured a way to customize the text (fonts, style, etc.) on the web modules, or even just getting the code and converting those areas?
    Thanks,
    Kathryn Jacobi

  • Uploading a book (from the book module) to the web module

    Hello!
I just finished my first wedding album in the Lightroom 4 book module (yay!) now I would like to be able to upload the book via the web module so that my clients can approve it, but when I move to the web module, it seems to only upload the individual images--not the page layouts.
    Is there a work around?
    Thanks!
    Ellen

Oho! I see that! How did I miss that!
John--you have save my you-know-what today!!! THANK YOU!
OK--one last question since you seem to know everything--can I export the jpegs as a spread (ie--page 1 and 2 on a single 12" x 24" jpeg for 12" x12" book) Or do I need to import the jpegs back into photoshop and lay them together manually...does that make sense?
And thanks again for all your help today.

  • Can Edge Web Fonts be used for Photoshop website mockups?

I'm keen to know if Edge Web Fonts can be used within Photoshop as an extension (to make the website mockup process smoother). I know Edge Web Fonts plays well with Muse and other Edge Tools, but I don't want to use Muse to build my sites - I just want to do my mockups in Photoshop. Can Edge Web Fonts work from within Photoshop, or will I be forced to switch to something like Extensis Suitcase Fusion for font management within Photoshop? Thanks in advance for your help!

Problem solved - I've found everything I was looking for (and more) in Edge Reflow.

  • Are Photoshop Express and Lightroom Mobile good options for a Dragon tablet? [was: help me with my tablet]

Hey guys, I ask a question before about my tablet I have a dragon touch and I was told it won't be able to download the photoshop or lightroom. I was told to download photoshop express or lightroom mobile. are those options just as good.

You're referring to this earlier discussion: My tablet isnt downloading the creative cloud
No need to create a new discussion on the same topic. Just go back to the other one and click Reply to keep the conversation going.
Your Dragon tablet runs the Android mobile operating system so you have to run mobile apps on it. You cannot run the full desktop versions since they're not designed to run on your tablet.
Those mobile apps offer similar functionality (but nowhere near everything) to the desktop versions but in an environment which makes sense on a tablet e.g. touch controls.

  • Web module - Upload settings not saved in preset

    Hi,
When creating a new preset in the Web module, the current upload settings are not saved. Which constantly leads to annoying mistakes when updating a site. I'm aware of bug reports that have been filed about this issue and the answer was "as designed". I tend to consider this as a bug.
Could someone explain this very strange design choice?
    Thanks.
