Web page composer for creating static pages

Hi there,
I have a scenario where I need to develop static pages in Web page composer. That is I dont want to build a complete site but only static pages. And then I want to enable the Approval workflow from KM for these static pages. Can someone throw some light on this how I can acheive?

Procedure
1. In the Web Page Composer, navigate to the Web page that you want to integrate into the portal navigation.
2. To copy the path to the Web page to the clipboard, choose Copy Path from the context menu for the Web page.
3. Choose Content Administration → Portal Content.
4. Choose New → iView from the context menu of a folder.
5. Choose Portal Component as the source type.
6. Choose the com.sap.nw.wpc.runtime portal archive. On the next screen to appear, choose default.
7. Once you have created the iView, choose the Web Page Composer category in the property editor.
8. In the RID of Compound Document property, enter the path to the KM folder representing the Web page.
Example: /wpccontent/Sites/MyWebSite/Web Pages/MyWebPage
You can paste this path from the clipboard.
9. Open the workset or role that you created when you carried out the initial configuration.
10. To add the iView to the workset or role, choose Add iView to Workset/Role → Deltalink from the context menu of the iView.

Really having problems with organising documents in pages. For example, deleting pages deletes the whole section and I cannot insert a section break as its greyed out & sending an object to background deletes several pages - what the **** is going on???

For example, deleting pages deletes the whole section and I cannot insert a section break as its greyed out & sending an object to background deletes several pages and trying to insert a text box autmatically creates new pages- what the **** is going on??? Is this programme really this badly thought out? I thought everything apple was supposed to be intuitive!?!?!? Help.

You can not insert a section break into a textbox.
You appear to have a lot of objects with wrap set, that once you take them out of the flow of text (by sending them to the background) causes the text to reflow and contract into fewer pages. Pages is almost unique in the way it forms up pages in Word Processing mode only so long as there is text on them.
I suspect you probably have hammered away at returns, spaces and tabs as well to position things, which only works to add to the mess.
Download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf available under the Help menu and swot up a bit on how it works.

PS There is quite a lot of programming in OSX that is far from "intuitive". Pages is easy at one level, when using the templates, otherwise it can be quite frustrating.

Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, aren't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen. Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document. Any ideas?

Figured it out. It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat. Here's the fix:
Open Finder/Applications
Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
Quit Safari
Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

Web Page Composer for anonymous user

Hello everybody,
I configured my portal for Web Page Composer anonymous user access.
I found this document and i follow all steps:

but when i launch portal with address:
http://xxxxxx:50000/irj/portal/anonymous
in the content view i see the portal logon page!!! if i lauch the page whit other user (after log-on) i see the WPS page correctly
Any suggestion??

And don't forget the anonymous group. Well the things you need to take a second look at are in de doucments.
- Making CM ready for anonymous access
- PCD (iviews, pages, folder, etc) should have anonymous access
- are all the servies configured right
- And make sure the right group have the right access in CM (KM)

Web Page Composer for SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 !

I am working on SAP Neteweaver CE 7.1 and I want to know that whether the Web Page Composer component for Portal is also available for SAP Netweaver CE 7.1 as it also has an embeded Portal installation.

Currently WPC is not part of CE 7.1 (neither is any part of KM). However, AFAIK it may be included in a future release of CE.

I am wanting to create a Strategic Plan in Pages. The type of Plan put together by Private Schools - with text , headings, pictures and lots of white space -
does anyone know if there is a template available?

Hi Lyn,
A quick search on 'strategic plan template' with my favourite web search engine came up with several. Most are boring and dry, not at all what I imagine you want. Even though the templates are for Microsoft Word, Pages will open them. Then you can be creative and adapt them.

Acrobat Pro XI Create PDF from web page will only create first page.

Whether I try from within Acrobat or using the convert button on the Adobe toolbar my PDF cuts off at the bottom of page one and will not create subsequent pages including the rest of the webpage content. I've played with several settings. Any idea why?

I think I might have this problem too. Only difference is I am using Acrobat Standard. I have Acrobat Standard X on another pc and it works fine. An example of a web site page is https://connectonline.asic.gov.au/RegistrySearch/faces/landing/SearchRegisters.jspx?_adf.c trl-state=1766qhwwjv_4 I am in Australia. I hope you have access to this page where ever you are. Towards the bottom of the web page, there is a list of 3 documents. On my other pc, I can convert to pdf the whole page but on this pc, I only get one page.

Available Layouts for Creating Portal Page

Hi, When selecting a layout for creating a Portal Page we are presented with a plethora of available Layouts.
1. What is the difference between the 1 Column (Full Width) and Light: 1 Coumn (Full Width).
2. Why would there be no Layouts with a Row Type Organization. Everything is Column Based. What if I want to Rows?

1. Difference between 1 Column (Full Width) and Light: 1 Coumn (Full Width) is that the second is used for light framework which will not load HTMLB. If you compare the JSP code for the two layouts, the container definition in light layout is not surrounded by hbj tags.
2. As Ajay said, you can add multiple iviews in one container and you get multiple rows in a column. You can always create your own layout which can can have rows as well. One such layout from SAP is T-Layout (Top - Full Width; Bottom - Narrow:Wide).

How to change page template for a single page?

I create a new document based on the Pages "Reports > Business Report".
Now the first page is formatted as a "Cover" page with a larger top margin.
Via "Format > Advanced > Manage Pages..." I see there are what I assume are the "Page Templates":
- Cover
- Table of Contents
- Chapter Page
- Text Page
- Appendix
My question: How can I change the template for a single page in my document? E.g. I don't want Page #1 to be formatted as "Cover". I'd like it to be a "Text Page".
Any hints?

Just delete the Cover section and insert a Text Page.
Click on:
+Toolbar > View > Page Thumbnails+
Click on the Cover thumbnail, it will be outlined in yellow, hit delete.
It may start off with certain defaults but you do not have to accept them.

Use a Custom Page Layout When Creating [[new pages]] in Enterprise Wiki

I have followed a few different blogs and I've been able to create a custom wiki content type and create a new page layout based off of that content type. I've also set my site so that my new layout is the default page layout. This works when creating
new pages on the site but when i try to create a new wiki page --> [[new page]], I'm still getting the typical blank wiki template. How on earth do i get my page layout to sync with creating a new wiki page?

For your issue, go to Site Actions > Site Settings > Page layouts and site templates (Under Look and Feel).
Pages in this site can only use the following layouts: add custom wiki template.
Select default page layout: choose custom wiki template.

ALV - Top of Page Trigger for Each New Page

I am using the sortinfo_alv to get page break for each customer.Now my client is asking to display the cutomer name in the top of page insted in the main table. how will i do this .
I am using alv_commentary_write to display the top of page data.
