Web page images move up or down in pcs

I have a similar problem. Just finished my new website which looks great in Iweb but when I publish it it looks different in every browser and even worse in PCs. My website is www.davidleon.biz
The pictures, html widgets and lines seem to come up or down on the screen depending on browser and whether it is a pc or apple & it looks horrible. I updated the system to 2.0.4 and re-plublished everything but still does not make a difference. I even tried to change fonts to more PC friendly ones... Please help I need to start promoting the site asap

Did you know that different browsers interpret CSS files differently, especially when it comes to padding and margins. To make a web-site compliant in all browsers is very difficult unless you are a CSS guru (and in iWeb it is almost impossible).
You have to expect some movement with the images/text in your site, the only thing you can do is keep tweaking the design and checking in IE, FF and Safari until the changes between the 3 are minor.

Web page browsing speed drastically slowing down

I purchased a 13 inch mac book pro in December. Since day one, I have had a problem with my web page browsing speed drastically slowing down. These crippling slow down periods are completely random. They can start any time, and last from any amount of time. from minutes to hours.
95% of the time any attempt to load a page end in a time out. The other 5% takes no less then 90 seconds to load the simplest of pages. I have this problem no matter what browser I use (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera). What is driving me nuts is other applications work fine when browsing slows down. Skype, IM clients, multi-player games all work great, but web pages will not load. When I ping a website, my latency returns are perfectly normal. I can use Telnet and SSH with no problem.
This has become such a problem that I can not depend on using OS X day to day. I used boot camp to setup a windows partition and installed win 7. Using my win 7 install everything runs perfectly, I have had zero slow down!
I've done some searching and found numerous posts with similar problems. Ive read and followed the advice that I found, but I've had no success is fixing this.
I have had this problem on 6 different wireless networks. Each time this problem has come into play, my windows install performs flawlessly. This really makes me belive this is a software problem. Not hardware / ISP.
I see alot of post blaming default ISP DNS servers, just to let everyone know I use google's open DNS on my home network.
I also have changed the DNS settings in OS X
All other machines on my home network have zero problems!
Sending files between my laptop and other machines on my network works perfectly.
I have found a few posts / guides for using OnyX, none of them have worked for me
I have to be missing some simple thing here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I rebooted into OS X as soon as I read your response. Web pages would not load.
I followed your instructions.
The Airport Light was green.
I went ahead and hit assist me and ran the diag tool. According to the tool my internet connection is working correctly.
Sadly the problem persists and web pages still will not load in all four browsers.
I ran a ping to google.com and responses were well under 45 ms.

How can I export to a web page with movies?

Hello,
I just noticed that when I exported a folder of pictures and movies to a web page, only the pictures showed up. Is there a way I can use the export to web page feature and see my movies?

Are you using iWeb to create your web page? If so then the only options from within iPhoto for exporting are a photo page or blog page. You need to export only the photos and once in iWeb create a separate movie page and import that movie to that specific page via the Media button at the bottom.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Web pages image sizing

In exporting a set of images into web pages, can the individual pictures (each on its own page) be custom-sized?
I see how to size the small images in their array of rows and columns ("Fit images with:" etc), but can't see a way to size the larger images.

Go into one of the detailed pages; you should see a 'Detail - xx Pages' area under the overview of thumbnail pages, it should show a detail page. click on that, to preview the individual image page.
Or select one of the thumbnails in the overview and press the little curved arrow in the left top corner.
Then you can choose the 'fit image within' size for the individual/detail pages
To change the quality settings:
Aperture menu -> Presets -> Web presets -> Web Detail...

I am not expert in these, but please check out the following things and see whether it would solve your issue. (All these changes can be easily rolled back in case I'm wrong :). So make note of what you do)
As per your httpd.conf, you have chosen an automatic configuration of Apache by OWCI installer itself. What it does is create an imageserver.conf file in a separate directory and these settings will be included in your httpd.conf as you can see in the first line: Include "C:/bea/alui/plumtreeconf/".
If you check the imageserver.conf in that location, you would find a line like: Alias /imageserver/ "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/". This aliases the original path "C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/" to /imageserver"
To confirm whether this is done right, check the following:
1. Acces 'http://<server ip / server name / localhost >/' from your browser
This should display the Apache home page (as per your httpd.conf, it uses the default port 80; so no port number required)
2. Access 'http://<server ip>/imageserver/' from your browser
This should display the directory structure (if its not disabled) inside your 'C:/bea/alui/ptimages/imageserver/' folder. Also confirm that all the subfolders are accessible.
3. If all the above is right, it means that your imageserver settings are right. Please check your portalconfig.xml for the correct settings: For example, <setting name="HTTPPort"> should be 7001 in your case. If its something else, change it and restart Weblogic for the settings to take effect.

Since I updated to 6, my mouse wheel scrolling has become erratic, and, depending of the text size on the web page, either moves only a few lines each turn or moves several pages instead of one page as it did before on every tab. how do I fix this?

yes, it is still happening, though I've gotten better at ignoring it.
my touchpad, i think, is an elan ps/2 port smartpad and my mouse is a microsoft basic optical mouse v2, both componants are working correctly and have the latest driver update installed.
The difference between img 1 and 2 is one scroll wheel turn down. In image 3 I have decreased the view using control - (minus) and in image 4 I have scrolled down one turn of the wheel. you can see that instead of a full page turn, like between img1 and 2, it only moves about 2/3's of the screen down. As every tab seems to have a different text size, the amount of scroll turn changes between tabs, sometimes varying as much as several pages each scroll turn.
One thing I have noticed, is that the vertical scrolling speed on my mouse settings changes the amount the pages moves when turning the wheel. This only seems to change when in firefox. changing this while using word has no effect on the page movement in word. Increasing the vertical scrolling speed will make the scroll turn move further.
I have adjusted the scroll settings in options, and no adjustment of settings, (autoscrolling on/off, smooth scrolling on/off in and combinations of off/on) has made this error stop occurring. I have checked for malware etc, no issues. This happened from the instant I upgraded to FF6, so I think there is a corrolation there.

Loaded up Firefox home on my ipod touch and whenever I go to open a book mark or a web page it crashes and shuts down.

I have loaded the firefox home on my ipod touch and sync'd it. Everything came over in the sync but when I open something, and then start scrolling down the page, it just shuts the program down.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

Web page image quality to printer

I have an Epson cx7800 which I have aligned and cleaned the heads.
The image quality of the print from my G5 iMac to the printer is sort of like a double image of the colored text (for instance, the word DVD will be printed twice, in a blurry fashion, in red and yellow). When I just copy a page from the printer, the quality is fine. It's just the images I'm getting from the Mac to the printer that are poor.
I get this same problem when I print a CD cover from iTunes.
Is there any way I can improve these images?

Suggest that you contact Epson by phone, email and/or check out their Epson cx7800 Troubleshooting Guide link for answers. Did the printer come with a manual?

Partial Web Page/Image Load on iPad 3

I have an iPad 3 and on some websites I am consistantly getting only a partial page load. I have checked other iPads at the Apple store and 95% work fine, but there is still the occasional one that doesn't fully load. I can reboot the iPad and refresh several times and everything will eventually load all the way. It seems to be only on certain iPads though they have the same OS version and Safari version.
The loading issue is also inconsistant. Sometimes some images will load but others are gone. Sometimes some images load partially with a colored static look. Other times the images will load but be pixelated. Sometimes I get the blue question mark box. Sometimes images are duplicated or links are incorrectly positioned.
I cannot duplicate this issue on older iPads.
The site loads fine on MAC and PC browsers.
Are there any known issues with the iPad 3 browser that would cause this issue?

This was driving me crazy as well on my brand-new days-old iPad, particularly since it seemed to only happen to mages on our portfolio site! And I, like you, tested several other iPads at the Apple Stores and Best Buys with different results.
In my case, resetting Safari's cache through Settings helped some images but then others would display oddly. Only after contacting AppleCare and being instructed to reset the Network settings (and then clearing Safari's cache again) has the problem finally gone away, and (knock wood) hasn't reared its ugly head again.

I have tried everthing! Firefox is slow to load web pages,images,videos,

don't know if these are getting thru. it took 11 minutes for my e mail to load. then another 5 to set up a support account. REALLY!! and still no help. This is insane crazy. For three days now been doing this.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Is there a way to automatically have a web page begin to scroll down?

Is there a way -- sort of an "autoplay" sort of way to have a web page begin to slowly scroll down to the bottom like a teleprompter automatically? I know this isn't technically iWeb but the site is created in iWeb and from that basis I'm sure I"ll have to edit the code somehow -- like is done when making autoplay movies and music.

Settings > iCloud > Photos > My Photo Steam > On.

Move Attribute Up/Down in MDS web app unpredictable

On the MDS web app/ System Administration/ Manage Entities/ Edit Entity page, the Move Attribute Up/Down controls move the selected attribute in unpredictable ways.
Instead of simply moving the selected attribute up or down one position, the attribute is moved several positions. Attempts to order the attributes as desired using this mechanism seems impossible. Does anyone else see this behavior? Is
there another way to order the attributes in an entity?
BTW, I'm using the latest version of IE and Silverlight version 5.1.20193.0

This particular UI has been fixed in the next CTP release. You would see a slightly different UI to move attribute display order.
For old UI, each time, the up/down is click, there is call back to the service which will take few seconds. You probably have to wait the IE become not busy (The circle icon on tab is gone), between each move.

A split screen feature would hold part of the web page static and allow scrolling through the rest, can it be done?

I would like to be able to hold one part of a web page static while scrolling further down, most usually when following an onscreen tutorial on fixing something with 8.1, (pretty much an everyday occurrence).
This feature would be similar to that in Office programs like excel.
Is this feasible or must I open the same web page in different windows?
