I have posted a page using iWeb 1.1.2 from a MacBook.
I just received an iMac with iWeb '08. I transfered my "Domain" file to the iMac and updated my site using iWeb '08.
Can I still use my MacBook with iWeb 1.1.2 to make changes to my webpage.
If not, when I eventually upgrade my MacBook to iWeb '08, will I be able to make changes to the webpage using either the iMac at home or the MacBook while on the road?

If you have updated your site to iWeb '08 and aren't experiencing any problems why would you NOT want to install it in your MacBook?
Every time you update a site on one computer you would have to sent a copy of the domain.sites2 file to the other.
If your computers are in different locations you can do this by email.
I do this to switch files between home and office Macs.
Create a folder on your desktop, copy your domain.sites2 file and paste it into it.
Highlight the folder and select "make archive" from the Finder "file" drop down menu.
This will give you a compressed ZIP file.
Download a copy of the freeware Pando onto each computer...

You can also send yourself a copy of iWeb '08 this way!

Actually, the webmail interface works quite a bit differently. I haven't worked with it much, but as I understand it webmail has the browser submit the password to it in plaintext (note: if at all possible, run webmail only over SSL), and the webmail server then uses that password (again in plaintext) to connect to the IMAP service (part of the regular mail server setup). So the first requirement is that you must enable plaintext passwords for the IMAP service (in Server Admin -> Mail service -> Settings -> Advanced -> Security); I'm not sure if it's Login, PLAIN, or Clear mode that needs to be enabled, so play around and see what works. I think that's all that'll be needed, but I haven't actually tested this, so it's possible there are other compatibility issues...
BTW, I'm assuming that the OS X server is hosting mail for your AD users; if the mail is actually on a different server (e.g. Exchange), things get a lot more complicated.

Can not start Enterprise Manager web page

I can not start Enterprise Manager web page.
Here is my steps:
1. Start enterprise manager
emctl start
Waiting for EM to initialize ...Started
2. Check status:
emctl status
EMD is up and running : 200 OK
3. Start the web page
http://myhost:1810/
4. get following error
"There was no response. The server could be down or is not responding"
System info:
Database: 8.1.7.2
OAS: 9.2.0.2
JDK: 1.3.0_02
Server OS: SunOS 5.8
My question is where is the log file of enterprise manager and what the problem is.

Firefox froze up. So I removed from computer and reloaded. If I close Firefox, can't restart by clicking on the icon. Have to end process in Task Manager. It then starts. Some links on some web pages won't work.

As I say in the question I don't know what happened but Firefox just stopped operating and then became erratic. So I removed the firefox programme from my computer and reloaded Firefox.
It now runs normally but I can't run Firefox on two tabs, only one, and if I close it down during a session I can't reopen it using the desk top icon. I go to task manager, processes, and end process for Firefox - then I can start it using the icon on the desktop.
I have also noticed that some links on a web page won't work - javascript is involved.

It sounds like you are getting in a hurry.
If you force Firefox to close in a hurry, then it won't normally start until you re-start the computer. There are ways around this, but I'm not going to go into them right now.
None-force way to close Firefox down: Close the program and wait. Do something else. Firefox appears as if it is closed, but it's not. Firefox cleans out cookies and it's cache after you close it. That takes a few minutes. You can't restart it while it's doing house cleaning.
After it is done, then you can restart Firefox normally. You can watch it in the Task Manager.
The same applies if you are installing javascript. You have to wait a few minutes.
As for running it with multiple tabs, I usually have 5 or 6, or more, tabs open at a time. Have no idea what the problem is there. Firefox needs special permission by use of a pop-up option to close with multiple tabs open.

Web Page composer : new layout does not display Page Header Links Manager

Hello,
I am currently working with Web Page Composer, and this is my issue :
when using original layout, the header are displayed with "Add to favorites", "Print", "E-mail" etc... and all chosen links via the "Select Page links" link.
But whith my custom developped layout, I can choose wich links to display but they did not show up.
I think my layout miss a configuration point, but I did not manage to find out which one.
Does anyone have an idea ?

How to manage web page content via labview

My pproblem is to get cyclic information from a web page containing an
applet.
Using a container I cannot manage any text and object in the page. Isn't it?

If I understand you correctly, you are hosting a webpage in a front panel ActiveX container, and you want to obtain certain information from the webpage.
This is possible using ActiveX calls. To get access to the HTML document in the container itself, along with all of its text and applets, etc, you need to reference the Document child item from a property node. This item is variant, so you need to use Variant to Data with a ActiveX refnum constant set to MSHTML.IHTMLDocument2 wired to the type. At that point you can access information about the HTML page itself, such as the body's text and so forth.
I'm attaching a simple example that should help you get started. It's written in LabVIEW 7.1. Good luck!

Thanks but I've tried all that. It happens in Chrome also. I've tried Opera and it works on that. I've read other forums and it looks like a Java script issue that Chrome and now Firefox Mobile cannot seem to resolve. My preference is Firefox and I'm sure as more tablets get out then this will be solved at some point. I just don't know how it is prioritized. I do know that in order for Androids to be viable in the business sector they need to address issues like these with a higher priority.

Solved it shortly afterwards thanks as I realised it must have happened when I refreshed Firefox, so went through the process again and found the boxes for tabs already pre-ticked so cancelled them. Would have been a lot easier though had it been left as an option to tick as I assumed it was another safeguard leaving me with no idea what had happened....

Labels Not Showing Up Correctly in Workflow Manager Web Page

I have installed the Workflow Server 2.6.3 on Red Hat 7.2 against the Oracle 10g database. When I go to the Workflow Manager web page and login, all the labels appear between brackets "[]" and have incorrect names such as the following:
WF_WORKFLOW_TITLE
WFA_WTITLE
OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS
WFA_FINDTITLE
WFRTG_FIND_TITLE
etc......
I ran the Configuration Assistant again and this didn't solve the problem and I've also verified that the mappings in the server configuration file are correct for OA_JAVA, OA_DOC, OA_MEDIA. Looked through workflow installation log and no errors appear. I installed the web server (Oracle Apache Standalone downloaded from OTN in a separate Oracle Home). Any ideas how to fix these incorrect labels or why they're not showing up correctly??

Hi,
I've not seen the problem myself, but it seems that the language has not created the correct lookups in the WF_RESOURCES table.
If you look for a name of (for example) 'OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS', there should be an entry for the language you are using (US) which translates the prompt for you. If it's not there then you will probably need to add a language through the installer - I don't think there is a SQL file that you can just run to do it. Alternatively, install it in a new environment and then just extract the resources you need from that system and insert them into this one.

Issue with User web page into Call Manager

Hello
I have an issue where all my users can log into their User page on UCM but when they make a change to speed dial or anything else, the change does not reflect on the phone in UCM. Doing a reset from their web page doesn't reset the phone. This is UCM 7.1.5 and the standard ccm end user group is enable for all end users.

Now if both items above look OK, you might check your DB replication status. I assume you have a Publisher and one or more Subscribers? User phones registered to Subscriber? You can check replication several ways:

Unified Reporting on CUCM administrator web page - select "Unified CM Database Replication Debug" report. This is the easiest.
The desired Replication State is 2.
Here is some further information:
Check the DB replication status on all the Cisco Unified Communications Manager nodes in the cluster to ensure that all servers are replicating database changes successfully. You can check by using either RTMT or a CLI command.
• To check by using RTMT, access the Database Summary and inspect the replication status.
• To check by using the CLI, enter the command that is shown in the following example: admin: show perf query class "Number of Replicates Created and State of Replication"

ReplicateCount -> Number of Replicates Created = 344 ReplicateCount -> Replicate_State = 2
Be aware that the Replicate_State object shows a value of 2 in this case. The following list shows the possible values for Replicate_State:
0—Replication Not Started. Either no subscribers exist, or the Database Layer Monitor service is not running and has not been running since the subscriber was installed.
1—Replicates have been created, but their count is incorrect.
2—Replication is good.
3—Replication is bad in the cluster.
4—Replication setup did not succeed.
I'm thinking it's more your Roles/permissions and not replication, but I included just in case. Hope this helps!

I wonder what's the best way to manage a query result through several web
pages in the following context.
The query result is large and needs to be available through several web
pages. The user can scroll forward and backward through the pages.
One can :
- rerun the query at each web request and use random access
- run the query once for the first request, keep the pm and the query
somewhere (in a singleton class for example with a key in the HTTP
session) and use random access for handling the other requests (the
problems I see are to keep a connection for each user in this use case and
to decide when to close the previously mentioned objects)
- rerun the query at each web request, including in the filter a test on a
field and an ordering to start the results from the last one displayed
(being able to specify the maximum number of rows desired would be nice).

I think Frank's suggestion is probably the best tradeoff between memory
consumption (which would be high if you were to store the enire query
result in the session) and performance (which might be hurt if you
re-issue the query every time).
Note that Kodo 3.0 will provide a getObjectsById(Object[] ids) method
that should help in quickly instantiating a page of query results.
Query result limiting is currently under discussion for inclusion in the
JDO specification. We may have something for this in an upcoming Kodo
release (although not for 3.0).

When I click "edit" to manage content on a web page, I see code instead of text and images. How can I fix this?

I edit content on www.fomh.org. Until recently, I could sign in as administrator, click "edit" in the editable area of a web page, and proceed to update text and images. I have been using Firefox to do this for several years. Now when I attempt to do this, I see all the html code in the editable area instead of the text and images.
I am using Mac OS 10.6.8

What is the content of that window?

Web page different from opening link in a new tab or new window from Google search results

I had been using another browser for a few months because I did not want to lose the web pages I opened within Mozilla. I began using Mozilla again after saving off the web pages. I see that Google's web page pulls in search results as I type in keywords, a feature I don't remember seeing with other browsers along with a magnifying glass icon, like a look ahead of what a web page looks like before clicking on the link.
With the list of search results, I click on the link and tell Mozilla to open the link in a new tab. I see the google icon, "loading..." or "testing...", then results other than the link I wanted. Those other results maybe bing.com, http://66.45.255.230/click.php?c=0920f96609cb269f1d0045095c09, http://superpages.iarbiz.com/o6gIoMdG6so=-tQ1LeOu1v0kY34rDZ|oRy8Xt294ACu6X, Info.com, Supermedia Reverse Proxy (http://superpages.iarbiz.com/o6gIoMdG6so=-tQ1LeOu1v0kY34rDZ|oRy8Xt294ACu6X)or whatever else. As for the link, I managed to press stop before being redirected.
This is with any search results listed.
I thought it was Google.
Changed to Instant is off.
Nope. Still the same issue. Have already gone after malware. Tried resetting the redirect value to 0.
Above results also occur when opening the link in a new page via right menu click.
Copying link location and pasting in a new window is displaying results okay.
When resuming use of Mozilla, an update was available and installed. Did not experience the above issues before the update.
Running version 3.6.12. Running Win XP Pro SP3.
Had to go back to IE and Chrome/SRWare Iron.

ADF web pages not getting displayed inside the frame

I am working with an Oracle Application called "Oracle Transportation Management"...to which our Development Group have asked to log an issue to this forum thread. Please let us know if you can assist:
Client has added an external link to an ADF web page in OTM and when they click the link, it gives an error message saying it cannot be displayed within frame. Per the client, if they add frame busting to the deployment descriptor, it makes other screens in OTM to open in new window.
ERROR:
Warning: Unable to load content in a frame. Frame content will load at the top level.
we tried setting "oracle.adf.view.rich.security.FRAME_BUSTING" to "never", but this makes all selections open in a new window.
How do we correct this?

wrong forum. If this is an existing application that you are not developing then the problem needs to be tracked by the application owner. If this happens to be Oracle Applications then you can use one of their forums here on OTN. Note that normally setting frame bursting to never indeed should solve the problem

I use iMac desktop. I can't save web pages as PDF file by using Firefox, but by Safari is fine.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.4. Today, I tried to save my email content as a PDF file. However, I only got a PDF file that have partial content of email. Then I adjust the printer setting and did it again, then I only got a blank PDF file. There was nothing inside. Then I tried to save email as a PDF file by using Safari browser. And I got a complete and sucessful PDF file. I usually save web pages or web mail, online receipt as PDF file by use Firefox. But since I have updated to the new version, there were many problems with my Firefox. I tried to restore all my application and made Firefox in the old 3.6.3 version which I used to have no problem. But now still not working.

I solved it for myself: it was my HP smart-web printer crap that was a plug in and add on for firefox that somehow automatically got installed when I upgraded to 5. I disabled both in the add-ons manager, and voila, printing is working.
It seems there are many things, like this and the Google toolbar, that were screwed by the oddly fast update to 5. Looks like Mozilla didn't give anybody any notice! Must've been some really bad security hole.
