Web page size

hi, just made the switch....its been fun and frusterating. i bought the 24 inch i mac. when i open safari the web site size could be bigger. i have tried the font size, but that just adjusts the font. i tried the three lines in the corner , that makes the box bigger but keeps the web size the same...please any help would be great. is it not possible to adjust the box size and have the web size fill in that box??
thanks for any help

No, you have no control over the size or layout of the web site; that's a decision of the developers. Those choices were made for a good reason, so even if you could alter them, it would not be a good idea.

  • How to customize my default web page size, i always need to reduce whenever my web page is opened which is cumbersome

when my web page opens it occupies in full screen and most of the objects getting hidden , hence i have to use the zoom function to reduce or increase the size of the page. instead if i am given an option to open my default size web page and later on my request i can adjust in the view tab it will be quiet helpful. that is in stead of 800x600 i can switch over to much reduced resoultion size and later adjust accordingly. the web page size must in a position to be kept saved, for every time i can open and customize time to time as per my wish.
    hope you get my point!

The customization role is only used for applying MDS customization. In this role you cannot change your base application outside of MDS. You'll need to select a different role for regular development, including modifying xml documents.

  • Increase web page size

I just bought an iMac 21.5 inch and when I browse webpages I noticed that the page doesn't fit onto the entire monitor. Rather, the webpage is centered in the middle with emptiness on both the right and left sides. Is there a way to maximize it so it fits the entire screen? The fonts, pictures, etc...are small for my liking. My previous 17 inch monitor with my PC was more spread out on the screen with bigger font size! Please help...I am starting to feel buyer's remorse....

Looks like you are on your way however Toolbar sizes cannot be changed unfortunately.

  • After the recent update the entire browser, including menus, icons, and everything on the web page, are too small. Fonts are smaller, pics are smaller, zoom settings will not remain universal. Minimum font size will make text readable, but all pics are to

The new update has screwed up my browser settings, I cannot get them fixed and Im pissed because my computer is an eye-sore to read until this is fixed! EVERYTHING in the browser is smaller, fonts, menus, icons, web page content, pictures, tables, etc. I have set the minimum font in the settings and the text is just to a point where it is easily readable at the maximum size setting, but all the menus and icons are still tiny and hard to read. The last version I had installed worked fine with no add-ons needed. Everything fit the screen fine and was easily readable without modification. I want this version off my PC and I want the last version I had back on but I dont know what version it was!!!!!!! ARARGGGG
In fact, this stupid troubleshooting window that I am in filling out this form doesnt fit the page right at all, and edges of the text are cut off, so Im not even sure what some of these boxes are asking for!!

*Try to adjust the DPI setting, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.css.dpi
*Try to set the pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 2 on the about:config page.
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
If you need to increase (or decrease) the font size on websites then look at:

PS Are you working on a version for the iPad and iPhone with Add Blocker? That would be great!

Here are some zoom add-ons which might provide a workaround:

    Hi,
now we have the tinyMCE editor, where you can insert and edit html-code. It works fine now for the layout,
but there are still a few problems with the links..
In the edit mode there are displayed all km images out of the km. But the images aren't displayed under the portal role, when i publish the page. And all the links like one to a wiki or the TBN links doesn't work, too.

  • Opening a web page with a specific size window

I have an interesting problem. I want to open a Safari window on my computer with a specific size and screen position. Is this possible to do? Maybe an HTML string? This would apply to a very specific web site.
If it matters, I am using a Sling Box to watch TV on my iMac. I want a "small-ish" window that opens on the lower right of the screen. What happens now is the the window usually opens in the same place as last time (the lower right) but not always. Sometimes I have to go hunting for it. And it's almost never the right size or aspect ratio which has to adjusted manually each time.
Another question: The new version of Safari insists on putting the web page name on the top of the window. Any way to turn this off?
    Thanks in advance.
That's the little window in the lower right. See the page name?

"Many" financial institutions and banks use special web software that all versions of Safari are incompatible with.  My bank is one of those.  The downloading, installing, and use of "Firefox" for an alternate browser is what they recommend, instead of Safari.

  • Size of web pages and inserted files (assets).

    Hi, everyone.
As I am optimizing some web pages on my site I would like to see the overall size of each page and individual images displayed on iWeb.
Is there a way to see what the overall size of each page in iWeb will be once finished as well as the size of the presently selected image ? By size I mean uts file size in Kilobytes. I noticed the inspector shows the name of the file once an image is selected but I haven't yet found a way to tell its size or the overall size of the finished page.
Any ideas as to how I can see this information ?
    Thank you in advance.

    Roddy,
Thanks for the detailed and really helpful post. I am not sure where to begin ...
    Roddy wrote:
Now that Safari has been "zombiefied" in version 6 its now makes even more sense to test your website in Firefox and Chrome since only 4.1% of surfers use the Apple browser.
I don't intend to get sidetracked but what exactly do you mean by "zombified" ?
Firefox has the best tools - found in Tools/Web Developer.
To get any page size do a Command I...
Click the "Media" button to image file sizes along with their original and actual dimensions...
This is really a great suggestion. I will use Firefox to check page sizes from now on.
If the scaled size is much less than the original you need to optimize and reload the image.
Optimization is not just a question of file size. All wasted space and returns should be removed and scripts need to be loaded in the most efficient order.
Title and meta data first, then the main stylesheet followed by "feature only on one page" stylesheets and then any javascript placed in a priority order.
The URLs to the main javascript(s) should be in the head. Scripts for individual items should be placed in the body as near to the bottom as possible.
Avoid inline styles and always use the minified version of scripts when available.
Use relative URLs rather than absolute.
Avoid using javascript for any function which can be created using CSS and try to avoid using javascript for any essentials such as the navigation.
    And so on...
I always assumed that iWeb took care of all this. As I published my entire site or individual pages I was under the impression that iWeb was working in the background to ensure the html code was being written properly in what is considered the most ideal way. Is this not the case ?
The theme I am currently using is darkroom and it has a javascript included for navigation. Are you saying that this is not a good choice in terms of optimization ?
I have found apps to complement iWeb that work on SEO. Are there similar apps that can be used to analyze and optimize performance of a web page ?
Thanks again for your help and really helpful suggestions.

  • Font Size in preview and printed web pages

Hi: I have had a long running problem that annoys me. ever since I purchased a 20inch LCD and changed my display to 1680x1050, web pages that I print appear very small. the same thing happens if I go through preview. Word documents do not have this problem; the font size there appears normal and is easily read.
Is there a solution to this?

There is a way to increase the default 72 DPI rez that saving a PDF uses, if your interested I'l try to find it.
    Nevermind, found it...
To save PDFs in better resolution from Preview, try these Quartz Filters courtesy Jerome Colas...

  • How do I Keep the "zoom" size setting the same each time I open Safari and from web page to web page?

I have a 27" iMac when I open Safari the web page is only 1/3 the size of the full screen Safari window. I know how to ZOOM in on the web page! My question is, How do I keep this ZOOM setting for all web pages and each time I open Safari up?

    Sorry, but that's not possible.
An alternative might be to use Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility
Or try a different screen resolutioin in System Preferences > Displays > Scaled
