Web pages do not open in history/bookmarks

Web pages do not open in history/bookmarks,  I only see the Safari symbol.  Logging out of my imac account and logging back in sorts it out for a short time, but the problem comes back with only a blank page and the symbol showing only.
I use to be able to view all the web pages I visted except those with a lggin or through serches with google.
Any explaination would be welcome.
thanks
angus

Like when opening top sites and viewing open web pages....On clicking the bookmarks symbol in the tool bar (next to the top sites box  ) I used to be able to view the web pages fully open showing the content in the history browsing like they do in top sites.
If I log out and log back in to my account it sorts it out for a bit....

• Web pages do not open - Please Help

I've noticed that both web browsers i'm using (Safari and Firefox) will not open certain web pages. They begin to load them then freeze half way through and never load (I've waited 20-30 mins and still nothing). Here are a couple of the effected pages addresses;
http://www.myspace.com/
http://www.lloydstsb.com/
http://www.littlewoods.com/
These plus many more.
I wanted to know if this is something anyone else is experiencing? Other computers (Not Mac) are opening these pages fine.
I'm wireless, running the latest updates and have an early MacBook Pro. I've not made any changes from factory (exept updates) as i've just wiped and
re-installed Tiger. Some pages open fine yahoo, google and others, This is also effecting Firefox!
Any thoughts???

I've been doing a bit of research on this forum and have tried a few of the fixes.
The 4.2.2.2 one - tried it and nothing changed after the reset.
The creating a new account one - still freezes when loading in both accounts.
And finally removing the cookies.plist - made no difference.
I should add I have no firewall running, Mac or after market.

Hello DurgaPrasad, Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
Restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
Check specially your V-bates 2.0.0.444 extension, reports mentioned maybe malicious extension.

• Web page will not open

I am trying to open Amazon.com on my desktop and all that keeps coming up is a page that looks nothing like Amazon.com and mentions Wikimedia
and says this wiki does not exsist yet. Perhaps you are looking for one of our other projects. It has links in all sorts of languages. I have also had similar things happen with Facebook.com. It says that it can't be verified and will not load until I restart my computer. It is almost like it has a virus or something like it. Help!!!

Okay now my Facebook will not load. It just keeps coming up invalid URL.

• SunPlexManager: pages do not open in content frame

Hi *.
Im a little annoyed at the behaviour of the Sun Java Web Console/SunPlexManager.
When I click on the links in the navigation frame most of the time the addressed web page does not open in the content frame on the right but instead it terminates the frameset opening on the _parent level.
Im using Sun Cluster 3.1 08/05 with current patches on SOLARIS 10/SPARC servers and Firefox 1.08/Linux.
Anyone have any clues?

• Pages do not open

many web pages are not opening. The screen is blank and there is only the text in the address bar.
restarted in safe mode and still the same problem.Sometimes even pages like google and youtube are displaying the this page not secure message.Clicking i understand the risks again takes me to the blank page and refreshing does nothing.tried restarting firefox and this solves the problem for some time and relapses again.
Please help

After a second reading, my comprehension improved.
We need a little bit more information about the security certificate. Could you try Google at https://www.google.com/ and trigger the error there. If you already added an exception and can't trigger the error on that site, try a different secure page such as .
If you expand the third section of the page ("I understand the risks") and start the process of adding an exception by clicking the Add Exception button, then you can click the View button to see the details of the site's certificate.
In particular, who is listed as the issuer? Does it mention your security software provider (e.g., BitDefender or ESET) or some other third party other than Geotrust and Google Internet Authority? (I've attached what I see for Google.)
You can cancel the Add Exception process after viewing the certificate.

• I keep getting "Reminders" that some web page cannot be opened, even when I'm not online or on the Internet, and I'd like to stop it.

For days now, a "Reminder" box pops up on my screen every few minutes. It's followed by whatever the date is. It always says that a Web page cannot be opened and to try various things, even though I'm not online or trying to open any page. I can get rid of it by opening the task manager (control, alt, delete), but it comes back in a few minutes. I tried "System Restore" but that's not working, for an unrelated reason. I'd like to stop this annoying reminder. Thanks.

Might be spyware or adware. You could try scanning for that and remove spyware if you find any.

• After exiting proxifier software while web pages are still open in firefox, I could not open any web pages unless firefox is restarted. Plz help me.

I have a problem with Firefox when using Proxifier software. When proxifier is runing and I'm browsing web pages with firefox all things is OK. But after exiting proxifier while web pages are still open in firefox, I encounter a problem. In spite of the internet is still connected but my firefox could not open any web pages unless firefox is restarted.
You are kindly requested help me how to solve this problem not to restart firefox.

Hi,
Proxifier seems to be a transparent proxy. So you could try setting No proxy in Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings.
PS: A quick way to restart Firefox is to press Shift + F2, type restart, and hit Enter.

• Web pages are not responding

I often get the message that "web pages are not responding".  Safari seems to slow down to a crawl, I've reset Safari and emptied the caches, t may get better for a few minutes but then returns it's slow down. Someone said to quit safari and then trash Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/ folder. That doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have any suggestions how to solve this annoying problem?

Read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit Safari if it’s running. Then select
 ▹ Force Quit…
from the menu bar. A small window will open with a list of running applications. Safari may appear in that list, even though you quit it. If so, select it and press return. Close the window.
Step 1
In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-A to open the Applications folder. Select the Safari icon in that folder and press the key combination command-I to open the Info window. There’s a checkbox in the Info window labeled Open in 32-bit mode. Uncheck it, if checked. Close the Info window and the Applications folder.
If Adobe Flash Player is installed, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.Safari
Caches/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess
Caches/Metadata/Safari
Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginHost.plist
Preferences/com.apple.WebKit.PluginProcess.plist
Saved Application State/com.apple.Safari.savedState
Leave the Library folder open. Try Safari again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder. If you still have problems, continue.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
rm -fr $TMPDIR../C/com.apple.Safari
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Quit Safari again. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal. Launch Safari and test.
Step 3
If Safari still doesn’t work right, quit, go back to the Finder and move the following items from the open Library folder to the Desktop (some may not exist):
Cookies/Cookies.binarycookies
Internet Plug-Ins
Preferences/com.apple.Safari.LSSharedFileList.plist
Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Preferences/com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
Preferences/com.apple.WebFoundation.plist
PubSub/Database
Safari
(Note: you are not moving the Safari application. You’re moving a folder named “Safari.”)
Try again. This time Safari should perform normally, but your settings and bookmarks will be lost. The default set of bookmarks will be restored. Delete them all.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Safari again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were, overwriting the newer ones that may have been created in their place. You don’t need to replace the files you deleted in step 1. Stop here and post again.
If Safari is now working normally (apart from the lost settings), look inside the “Safari” folder on the Desktop for a file named “Bookmarks.plist”. Select
File ▹ Import Bookmarks
from the Safari menu bar. Import from that file. Recreate the rest of your Safari settings. You can then delete the items you moved to the Desktop.
Note: This step will remove your Safari Extensions, if any, and their settings. If you choose to restore them, do so one at a time, testing after each step to make sure you haven’t restored the problem.
If you don’t like the results of step 3, you can undo it completely by quitting Safari and restoring the items you moved or deleted in that step from your backup, overwriting any that were created in their place.
