Web pages don't display properly

Some web pages display words running together or overlapping. as if the whole page can't display fully.

Try making the font smaller in Safari / Preferences - Appearance.
If that doesn't help you may have duplicate or corrupted fonts.

What Mac model do you have? You might be able to upgrade the OS to Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5.
Even browsers for Tiger 10.4 will get the update message.
You could try a newer browser than Safari, which is obsolete, by downloading Firefox v2.0.0.20 at http://www.oldapps.com/mac/firefox.php

  • Web pages don't render properly no matter which Web browser I'm using

I've run across a very curious issue - Web pages do not render correctly in either Internet Explorer (version 8, 9, 10, 11 - I've tried them all) or Firefox (latest version).
If I visit a Web page that contains a commenting system (Disqus, Facebook, etc.) none of the comments are displayed. Moreover, I've noticed that none of the Greasemonkey extensions (all JavaScript) that I've installed in Firefox run, either. I don't expect
an answer to the Greasemonkey extensions issue, but I think it helps to shed light on the overarching issue. Something seems to be blocking JavaScript but I can't figure out what it might be.
I've a Windows 7 Pro box with both IE and Firefox as well, and everything works fine on it - all Web pages render correctly.
    I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The suggestion provided by Dan Randolph is worthy to try.
I also suspect this could be css conflict issue.
Would you please try the compatible mode or lower document mode in IE 11 for testing?
Manage Internet Explorer 11 compatibility using document modes
    http://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn321432.aspx
Try F12 IE developer tool to debug the part of load CSS.
In addition, you may try to create a new user account for test. If it works, please refer to fix a corrupted user profile.

If creating a new profile doesn't help, it's probably an issue with that browser, you may check the Add-ons and IE Security zone settings.

  • Windows 8.1 web pages don't display buttons but they are there and clickable

various buttons like home, search, drop downs do not show. if you hover the mouse where they are supposed to be you can click them and they work. I've had this problem since getting windows 8.1 last year. I have played with the settings and followed many suggestions on various sites for simular problems. I also removed internet explorer. I have aol on here and there no problem with its browser. I get no error messages and firefox seems to work fine other wise.

Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
*Charms, Settings, Change PC Settings, Ease of access - Select High contrast - ON/OFF
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

  • Web pages don't display right, and can't open certain links

Facebook doesn't show images. My ATT Yahoo home page is displayed very large. Firefox Desktop page only displays links on a blank white page. Can't open links on firefox desktop page, google, bing, etc... Firefox help page works fine. HELP!!!

When I did a Google search for "CSFire 6.0.1" just now, this thread showed up: I see, looking at the "More system details" item next to your original message that you also use CSFire.
I updated to Firefox 6.0.1 today. Immediately afterwards I began having problems. If I clicked a bookmark, the browser didn't wouldn't navigate to it. Actually, when I opened Firefox, it wouldn't even browse to my homepage.
After going through and disabling one-at-a-time ALL of my extensions, I've discovered that CSFire is the culprit. When I disable that, everything works again.
Since - allegedly - nothing's changed in Firefox 6.0.1 bar the certificate revocation, I'm not sure why this should be, but it is nonetheless.
No idea if this will help you, but I thought I'd put it out there on the offchance. Best of luck!

  • Web pages are not displaying properly

pages are displaying text only, no graphics

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Press the F10 key or tap the Alt key to bring up the hidden "Menu Bar" temporarily.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a check-mark then remove this check-mark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

  • Photo page won't display properly in safari

    Hi everyone!
I'm completely new to building websites and need some of your expert advice?
For some reason my photo pages won't display properly in Safari but ok in Firefox?
It worked fine a week ago and I can't think what I've done wrong since I republished last night?
    http://www.abeledo.talktalk.net/losavellanos/House.html
    Can anyone help?
    I'll buy you a pint!
    Cheers

    No luck unfortunately.
I changed the background to a solid and made the changes that you suggested roddy, but neither seemed to work. I know I must be doing something wrong? Do the photos appear ok with you roddy? All I see, is half the page i.e nav bar, top image, 'the house & garden etc text and top half of the darker box where the thumbnails should appear. And this happens with all 3 photo pages currently on the site.

    http://www.abeledo.talktalk.net/losavellanos/Teror.html
    http://www.abeledo.talktalk.net/losavellanos/The_Island.html
I've been clearing my cache in both browsers every time I republish.
I've also tried upgrading to the new 3.0.3 beta Safari? You'd think - out of all the browsers- iWeb would work seamlessly with Safari wouldn't you? - Firefox is fine.
Do you think I should start from scratch?

    This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect securely to smf.crm.red.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
    Same problem in Firefox.
Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Web pages aren't loading properly

Since installing Mavericks Web pages aren't loading properly. Neither with safari nor chrome. I've added the Open DNS to the DNS pane but makes no difference. Many pages don't download images, and look like the CSS hasn't loaded either. Have emptied browser caches too.

So, I changed my DNS servers to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and all is well.

  • Why some fonts don't display properly

    I use Windows 7, Pagemake 7 (with update 7.01)
Some fonts don't display properly in pagemaker file. Sometimes they look blank; sometimes display in part and the rest as blank. In fit-in Window view, sometimes a page displays properly, and next page is blank, go back to the previous page, it also turns blank. Some times letters look garbled. Display varies as and when the view size is changed.Example for the fonts - Souvenir LtBt . What could be the problem and what is the solution ?

Pagemaker is old software, it was designed for use when fonts were quite limited. It will only display the first 256 characters in a font.  Modern fonts have moved way beyond this limitation. The solution is to stick with older fonts, or to upgrade to indesign. It does sound like your souvenir font  could be corrupted, running font management software is a good practice no matter what program you use.

  • Oem web page will not display after O/S dst patch

    Hello,
The Grid web page will not display after we DST patch for the o/s.
All below start fine without any errors:
    emctl start oms
    emctl start iasconsole
    opmnctl startall
    emctl start agent
The Grid web page is not displaying. What might happened after the o/s dst patch that might cause this? Our GRID is 10204 with a 10104 repository. The 10104 has not yet been dst patch.
What logs should I be looking at to figure why the web page is not displaying? Thank you.

Provide the output of these comands:
    $OMS_HOME/bin/emctl status oms
    $OMS_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl status
    $AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent
    $DATABASE_HOME/bin/sqlplus "/ as sysdba" << EOF
    SELECT STATUS FROM V$INSTANCE;
    EOF
    $DATABASE_HOME/bin/lsnrctl status LISTENER_NAME

  • Web pages do not render properly

Since my upgrade to Yosemite, web pages have not rendered properly in Safari.  Here is a screen shot of AOL:

    1. From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
    and confirm. Test.
    2. Select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

  • Query in web page cannot be displayed

    Hi,
When queries are executed on the web, "page cannot be displayed" is returned.
    I checked,
    SMICM and HTTP is active.
SICF the BEx service is active but, when i test it , it returns page cannot be displayed.
Also, can i know where the setting is made for the port that is used when a query is run on the web from the query designer.
    Any suggestions to resolve this.
    Raj.

    Raj,
the setting is made in the RZ10 parameters - and also you can check the active http ports through SMICM - goto --> HTTP Server details.. or something like that.
