Web Photo Templates in Dreamweaver 8
Hi !
I'm trying to set up a photo album that uses the same CSS
template that I use for the rest of the site. I know I will have to
modify it but that's not the problem. I can't find the Photo
Templates folder that is referenced in Jolantha Belik's Web Photo
Album tutorial. She provides the following path : C:\Documents and
Settings\.....\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX\Configuration\Photo
Templates\ however I can't find the Photo Templates folder
anywhere.
I know it's somewhere on my box as I can see the vanilla
templates but I can't find them either when I search using Google
Desktop.
Help?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
Jim,
This TechNote explains where to find the User Configuration

Placing Web Photo Album into Dreamweaver Template?
I have a templated through the Dreamweaver program that I am
using to create a site. The first page is great. I saved the index
page as a newly named page to copy it to make my next page. I then
want to replace a section of that page with a web photo album
created in Dreamweaver/Fireworks. How do I embed that file into my
2nd template page. It says to copy html into the page (did that)
and the photos and files are not refreshing on the server to show
them and the template codes properly as they are on my index page).
any help please would be great.Do you have a URL to look at?

Trouble with making a link to Web photo Album in Dreamweaver cs4
I am pretty new to this. I have created my website, made all my links, which are working fine, but when I made a Web Photo Album in Adobe Bridge, saved in Dreamweaver under my other web pages on my site.
Here comes the problem, I made a link from i.e. (parents.html) to go into my Web Photo Album but it won't work when I preview it in browser, but other pages will work when I test it with the same link on my (parents.html) page.
I am pulling my hair out, I can't understand why the link to Web Photo Album won't work, it is the last thing I have to do before I have to upload website. Can someone please, please, please tell me what is wrong.
CheersYou may need to upload the pages anyway, so that people can help you find the problem. Seeing the code and the associated files is the only way to try and help you ;-)
You can always upload the files to a test folder on the server instead of directly into the root of the site if that is going to be an issue for you,
PS: If it's working from being linked to from other pages, then there must a pathing issue when it comes to that one page. -
Hi, ive been looking into using lightroom to design a photo gallery for my website. The problem is ive noticed that most of the templates used by lightroom (especially LRG) require PHP. My web hosting only supports ASP (MS server), does anyone know if there are any ASP templates out there, or if lightroom even supports ASP.
thanks
tasSeems that if they have ASP that they would or at the least should have PHP.<br /><br /><[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Hi, ive been looking into using lightroom to design a photo gallery for my <br />> website. PLEASE HELP ADOBE!! ...or someone?
Using Photoshop CS3 on Imac Intel OSX 10.4.11 4GB RAM
I have created web photo galleries using each of the three types of feedback templates available that come with photoshop. Each gallery contained about 50 to 100 photos.
Once online, I can enter data for all images and hit save data each time.
BUT! when I send email feedback only only about 15 responses in the image number list is recorded in the returned email?
I have tried this for each Web Photo Gallery Feedback Template type and experienced the same result each time. I have tested this numerously on different servers and several months apart and all ways the same limited result.
Has anyone else experienced this problem on the mac? ...or pc.
Are other users out there experiencing fully working Web Photo Feedback Galleries of 50 - 100 images generated from photoshop CS3 without any problems. ie all data for every image is listed returned in the single email?
OR IS IT JUST ME??????
The feedback function of a web photo gallery is extremely helpful if only it actually worked?
I hope someone out there can confirm with me if this does or does not work.
I really hope I can get a response to this.
IF NOT: Is there another photo gallery building software product that I can buy that will allow web users to email image data, that you can recommend.
Thanks for your help in advance, if you can?
Kind Regards
Scott
[email protected]Thank you John
I am surprised that such a premier product like Adobe Photoshop CS3 would have condoned and included the web photo gallery function if they thought it was rubbish.
It is also a feature that has is clearly promoted by adobe.
The ability for you to select a bunch of images via bridge and automatatically build a web photo galley with photoshop that allows clients to review and provide email feedback to the image creator is a fantastic feature.
In every way the gallery works except that for some reason when browsing the link above Internet explorer on a PC will not launch your email client "outlook" if you enter and save more than 25 images worth of data. It seams to work in safari on a mac.
I want to know if others have experienced the same issue with more than 50 images using the Horizontal feedback web photo template.
This must be a minor bug in the gallery build that if rectified provides photoshop with an amazing feature that is greatly appreciated in the photographic business, not to mention others. Is simply worth fixing.
Do you know where I could get this functionality elsewhere? I would greatly appreciate your recommendation?
I am willing to purchase an alternative product that will do this if this problem can not be rectified as it is crucial to my work flow.
Making my own is not an option, nor the best use of my business resources.
Kind Regards

How do I convert a Expression Web template into Dreamweaver CC?
Just got the Adobe CC subscription they said I could convert an Expression Web site template to Dreamweaver? It has a file master.dwt that has the common header, footer and menu
Thanks, Dick - that helps. Save this code into the Templates folder at the root of the site. Name the saved file with a *.dwt extension. Let me know when you've done that and I'll tell you what to do next.

Creating a Photo Album In Dreamweaver MX 2004
I followed the steps to create a web photo album using
Dreamweaver MX 2004 and Fireworks and it creates it. However, I
can't get it to display on the web when I upload it. It displays
the message "Page can not be found". Please help!I think the fact that you have spaces in your files/folder
names is bound to
have created problems. I suggest you do some renaming and
re-upload.
BTW it is incredibly difficult to access pages on the site.
If Alan hadn't
put the link in I would have given up.

I have Dreamweaver 8 and Fireworks CS3. I am unable to create
a Web photo album in DreamWeaver because I get an error saying that
Fireworks 4 or greater is required to create a photo album. I have
the full version of Fireworks CS3.I have upgraded to DW Studio 8 from MX2004 and have a similar
problem...it's inconsistent though. Sometimes I am able to create
the web photo album with no problems. But tonight it balked and
balked and balked! I wound up opening up DW 2004 and FW 2004 and
created the photo album that way and somehow it linked back to the
DW 8 site. Is there a way to prevent this conflict??

Cannot see web photo gallery in design in dreamweaver cs3
have made web photo gallery in PS- opens in browser- opens in
dreamweaver cs3- I can see the code all OK can view again in
browser--But I cannot see the thumbnails or tables-yet I know its
there hidden?--How can I make it all visibleCindy:
If you dig really deeply (10 levels down!) in your Library folder you will find the templates for the new Bridge Galleries. You can also use the Lightroom templates in Bridge CS4.
Library/Applications Support/Adobe/Bridge CS4 Extensions/Adobe output Module/mediagallery/resources/templates/07lightroomgallery/styles
I duplicated one of the enclosed Styles and dragged it to the Desktop;
opened it in GoLive (because I like the way that GL displays html code although any text editor will do);
edited the code to give me the background colors, text and image frames that I wanted; and Saved the file with a new but similar name (starting with next two digits in the series and with the .xml suffix) in the same location as the original.
And it works!
You may be able to put your existing templates in the appropriate areas.
Or, you could install the Optional Plug-ins which let you use the Photoshop/File/Automate
web galleries and put your old templates wherever you kept them for CS3.
WARNING:
You should be perfectly safe doing this but if you screw-up CS4 and have to re-install it I accept no responsibility!!!!!!! -
Wanted to Edit "Create Web Photo Album" template
I'm using MX2004.
I've recently done a major, major overhaul on a website I
manage. We use the "Create Web Photo Album" (not an extension - the
one that came with DW) extensively, but with the new design, the
basic photo album template isn't going to cut it. I could probably
sit with it myself and drop created photo albums into a template
page and make it work, but I'm not the only one doing photo albums
and some of the other people aren't the most... technically
competent.
What I'd like to do is somehow edit the template that
Dreamweaver uses to create the photo album so that it looks like
how we're wanting without any post-album-created-action.
Is this possible? Is there an extension that'll work for this
as well? (Looks like the Exchange is currently down, so that isn't
helping me in my search.)Get the free extension "Create Web Photo Album 2" from Adobe.
It has many
pre made templates plus instructions on how to create your
own.

Modifying web photo gallery templates
Hi all! I created a web photo gallery in Photoshop. I want to modify the template so that I can make the gallery look more in line with the rest of the site I'm designing. I see in the Help Center that I need to modify the "tokens" in the html, but I'm at a loss as to how to do this. Is there a site online somewhere that can explain this to me better? Thank you so much!
JulieHi Dave! Thanks! I did do a search, but apparently I didn't put in the right search words, as my search didn't turn up anything useful. I'll check out what you sent me.

I'm trying to track down the template files that DW8 and
Fireworks use to create the web photo gallery. I'm trying to
automate this process as much as possible and would rather have the
album pages created the way I want them to look rather than having
to go back and apply my template to the pages afterwards. Does
anyone know of an easy way to do this?
TIA for your help.Being as this a DW ng and all I thought you might prefer a DW
plug in that
is incredibly neat and gets you exceptionally professional
looking results.
Does all that you are after (except thumbs down the side) and
is fully
compliant and if you don't like the look you tweak the css
not the gallery,
so no rebuilding involved.

Having just upgraded from CS2 to CS5, I cannot find Web Photo Gallery (previously File, Automate, Web Photo Gallery).
This was very useful to prepare galleries of images sent to me by our group members in all sizes, so I could send all the gallery files straight into Dreamweaver for uploading to our website. Thanks, "obvious" always works for me...
In CS2 they offered thumbnails of the gallery styles. Hitting Refresh Preview in CS5 requires the photos to load the gallery. Doesn't take too long, but the other was quick and simple. -
Web Photo Album 3.0 for Dreamweaver 8
I am using the extension Web Photo Album 2.2.6 with Dreamweaver 8 (plus Fireworks 8) and have come across references to Web Photo Album 3.0 but I can’t seem to find a URL to look at the detail
TIA
shampayneIf you installed the extension you should be able to launch the Extension Manager application to get information about the extension that was installed. If you are referring to the one in DW, I would not get to used to it if you plan to upgrade. The feature has been deprecated as of CS5.
