I don't see any reason why being an Argentine company means
that their ads
should be written in poor English.
In writing in an advertisement for a commercial enterprise -
one which is
completely centered around language - broken English
definitely SHOULD be
held against them, of course.
I never suggested or even slightly implied that bad English
was directly
related to intelligence. We're talking about the impression
made by an
advertisement for a business, posted on an English-speaking
forum.

  • Web positioning - no text in iweb

    I used iweb template, did not use their menus and organised my website that way. It is for my sister's restaurant and postioning is a real issue.
    does anyone know how I can add text that would be searched by spiders, how I can create metatags and add keywords? When the site is completely finished, I will go in the HTML source and add all this by hand unless someone has a better idea. If it doesn't work, i will recreate the site with freeway, but it is a fair amount of work.
    Has anyone tried to add simple text at the bottom of each page that would simply be a summary of the page in plaintext so that search engine would get some food? I know that hiding text playing with color is not a good idea but what about straight plain text?
    any expert who could shed some light?
    my web, nearly all translated in english, french and dutch, except the menus is at:
    http://www.lahuttelurette.be
    iBookg4-750MB, iMacG5-1MB   Mac OS X (10.3.8)

    Bernard,
    Hello again! I'm glad to see that you've got all those flags working! Like I've told you before....very classy looking site. In terms of what you are asking, check this thread out...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=525376&tstart=0
    This fellow put plain text keywords on his pages and then made them "invisible" by matching the color of the text and background. I think this method would probably work in your favor. Keep in mind that this doesn't determine if or when your site will be found by the search engines, but it may provide simpler bits of information that may affect your ranking once the search engines have found you.
    In terms of preventing your plain text from getting converted to an image, I guess changing the color would not trigger this judging by this most recent report. Try it out and let us know. Good luck to you, Bernard!
    If you find this information useful, please take the time to provide me with feedback by marking my reply as "solved" or "helpful" using those little buttons that you see in the title bar of this reply. I'd really appreciate it!

  • Dr Web Flashback Virus checker accurate?

    Does anyone have any info about how accurate the Flashback checker from Dr Web is? http://public.dev.drweb.com/april
    When I enter my Hardware UUID into the tool I get the following response:
    probably infected by Backdoor.Flashback.39 !
    Timestamp of the first access: 2012-04-03 21:27:19
    Timestamp of the last access: 2012-04-06 17:48:52
    However when I follow the instructions from the F-Secure website to locate and remove the virus (http://community.f-secure.com/t5/Protection/Flashback-Mac-OS-X-Remover/m-p/10887 #M2223) using Terminal, I get the files "do not exist" reponses.
    I haven't experienced any issues with my computer but figured I'd check to be certain, and now I'm not sure how to proceed.

    Sorry I'm late to the party, but I have way too much going on right now for this...
    My first observation is that this is very recent. As I recall everything we were watching last weekend was installed something like March 23 to March 28. Perhaps we are dealing with an as yet un-named variant.
    Next, from what I understand about this database, all it knows is that something with an identifier that includes an encrypted identifier that includes a UUID is trying to contact one of three Command & Control servers. It has no idea whether or not that Mac has any other files installed, just that one or more steps in the installation process has taken place. That's why they say "probably infected." We've been told that if the process finds certain software installed on that Mac it will abort the process and destroy itself, but I suppose something could go wrong with the destruction leaving the communications module active.
    Last weekend we were alerted to the situation by users who had Little Snitch installed and practically nobody that didn't have it complained. If this is new, I'm sure they have found a way to eliminate the Little Snitch canary again.
    Perhaps some details have been deleted, but there's a lot I don't know about your situation. Do you have Little Snitch installed? Do you recall seeing any dialogs requesting your admin password, certificate approval, anything unusual around around the date and time (although I'm not sure I know what time  zone Dr. Web is using) they first heard something purportedly form your Mac? If so, do you remember whether you approved or dismissed that dialog.
    I've scanned through all the test that were run and they all seemed to have focused on removing a full infection. You've told us that you have Office 2008 installed, so a Type 2 infection probably could not have happened. I think we can rule out a Type 1 infection from the "K" variant, so again it maybe a new one or it aborted and left something behind. I've tried to check all the commands and probably overlooked it, but did anybody check for a hidden executable in the home folder (I doubt that I remember them all from last week but we had .rserv, .mkeeper, .jupdate and I'm sure several others)? I know there were some checks for LaunchAgents, but can't be sure they would have revealed one installed around that date.
    And yes, I can't dismiss the possibility that Dr. Web is wrong or that duplicate UUID's exist. Just thought it might be worth looking a little harder at this since it's apparently our first effort at a Dr. Web positive and possibly something new that we won't read about until the bloggers get back to work after their Easter weekend.

  • Awesome + Shifty: clientbuttons don't work

    Hi,
    I'm playing around with awesome and installed shifty. Works fine, but the key-/buttonbindings for actions on client windows (modkey + rightclick = resize etc.) have seized to work. What could that be?
    My rc.lua is posted below, apart from some keybindings it's mostly unchanged, I haven't even edited the example tag definition for Shifty yet :

    button({ }, 1, function (c) client.focus = c; c:raise() end),
    button({ modkey }, 1, function (c) awful.mouse.client.move() end),
    button({ modkey }, 3, awful.mouse.client.resize ),
    but for some reason this does not work. But maybe it's to do with this being a set again later by awful in rules.rules. I'll play with that when I get home.
    Concerning the wiki: Granted 'useless' was maybe too harsh, but the wiki is bad, including the tutorial, especially where the rules-table is concerned.
    Example: Set up a rule to put a client on multiple tags by default. I find some entry somewhere (and I mean "some entry, somewhere". I can't even find it again, it is that well hidden) that tells me how to set 1 tag and mentions that I can set multiple tags "that way" as well. It doesn't tell me how, and a chance look in the correct place of the FAQ tells me that you CAN'T set multiple tags like you would set one, but have to use some strange function in conjunction with "callback =". Why? Because, apparently. The awesome-3-configuration entry doesn't even mention rules, neither does the tutorial.
    If I wanted to teach awesome to cook tea, it would be alright for the wiki to be unhelpful, but the above seems to me to be pretty basic.
    There are many things that are un- or badly documented. What is documented is documented mostly by examples that often aren't explained, leaving you unable to apply these to similar but not identical situations. And if there is some sort of explanation, chances are you won't find it because the wiki is all over the place.
    Don't get me wrong, awesome is great, and I love it. It is very easy to use if you stay away from rc.lua and would be very easy to configure if rc.lua was explained properly.

  • How is an Order Routing rule connected to the IC Webclient Profile

    I created a simple ERMS order routing rule that If priority equals very high then route to John Smith whom is assigned to the IC Web position in PPOMW.
    When I create a service ticket and mark it very high and choose the ESCALATE button the message no rule for routing was found.
    I don't see anyway to connect this rule to our IC Webclient profile, or why the rule wasn't envoked. Will give points.

    Hello Glenn,
    Yes, you are correct. In addition to creating a Rule Modeler policy via the IC Manager role (accessible from the BSP view or Enterprise Portal), the business user also needs to request that IT (or someone) add the name of the Rule Modeler policy as an attribute of the RE_RULE_EXEC service for the applicable Service Manager profile in the IMG configuration for the relevant Rule Modeler context (Order Routing, ERMS, etc.). I certainly agree with you that the business user and the IT user as generally two different people. And if they are the same person, Sarbanes Oxley probably has something to say about that Your point is definitely valid. Perhaps in the future we need to be more considerate of the distinction of job responsibilities of business user versus IT user when designing products and solutions.
    By the way, just as an aside... some Rule Modeler contexts can only use one Service Manager profile (for example Order Routing must always use a Service Manager profile called "SAP_ORDERROUTING") while other contexts can use multiple Service Manager profiles. For example, as of CRM 2005 (CRM 5.0) it is possible in transaction CRMC_ERMS_SM_PDET to assign different Service Manager profiles directly to different inbound email addresses for ERMS. And by assigning a different Rule Modeler policy to each Service Manager profile, you can use different root/default Rule Modeler policies for each incoming email address.
    Warm regards,
    John

  • IN R12, NEW WEB PAGES ARE OPENED IN THE MINIMIZED POSITION

    We've upgraded to Release 12.0.5. Whenever we click on functions that open new web pages, the new web page opens in the minimized position.
    This is very troublesome for our user community because they often do not notice the new page blinking and they keep clicking the link many times.

    Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • How can I to return to the same position on a web page where I left it, rather than automatically getting returned to the top of the page?

    It's annoying to keep returning automatically to the top of a web page that I often navigate away from--eg, Google News--rather than to the position I was at when I left it. I've looking over the Firefox settings and can't find where the default can be changed.

    Try holding down the ALT key while you hit the left arrow key.
    But in some cases, the webmaster may have configured the page to load from the beginning again. There's not much you can do about that unfortunately.

  • Photo positioning the same on web as in DW 8 - How?

    If you check this page
    http://www.enhancedwireless.net/TEST.html
    you'll see the first jpg is what I want re: the look and
    position of the photo of the CEO, this snapshot is while in DW
    8...the 2nd image shows what happens when it's published to the
    web, the thumbnail moves up... I positioned it simply choosing
    "right" in the alignment panel in DW, then dragged it in place.
    How can I make the picture stay placed as it appears while
    I'm working on it in DW 8?
    Thank you
    KB

    could you post the actual page url so we can see code?
    can't really tell from an image.
    one siomple way would be to place tour name (James Larsen...
    ) in a div or
    table cell above the text and photo which would force the
    photo down into
    the text. (or the text up around the photo) But seeing the
    actual code would
    be more helpful.

  • Web page in iframe does not maintain scroll position on refresh in FF4

    I have a web page on my local drive which refreshes live sports commentary every minute in an iframe.
    In FF3.6.x the page in the iframe retained the scroll position of where I had moved to.
    In FF4 the page within the iframe goes back to the top so I now have to scroll down every time to where I want to read.
    I disabled all addins in FF4 and have tried this on different URLs but the page in the iframe still returns to the top.

    Similar problem running a 27" iMac only it occurs in Excel and inDesign. Hit the cell with the curser and the worksheet moves over to the right 7 or 8 cells away. Have to curser back to the cell quite frequently. This issue make the machine unusable when working with those two aps. Today I did the ultimate and completely reloaded Yosemite and the problem is still there.

  • Content Search Web Part with Hover Panel - Problem with positioning with css

    Hi guys!
    I´m having trouble with positioning the hover panel for the Content Search Web Part.
    I used
    this article to help me with luck as far as to the positioning. I´ve tried some inline styling but maybe my knowledge in css is no good enough here.
    Here´s a screenshot from how this looks like. The hover panel generates a gap between the result items, the same height as the hover panel:

    Hi Victoria!
    No the gap comes without any inline css added from me. I´ve tried some inline styling, like z-index and position.
    So, any ideas are welcome.

  • Pleaseeeeeee Help - Problems with position of my web page

    Hi, first sorry on my english
    I have problem with position of my page. I had made my web page in Indesign CS5 and exported to swf file. My web page is working fine (www.igor-flytying.com) but the page is not in the middle of the web browser. How can I fix the problem????? I am a beginer in Indesign. I had try to make some changes in html file (salign) but still nothing.
    Please HELLLLLPPPPPP
    Regards
    Aljosa

    Petteri, SWFObject is much better because it loads the JavaScript so you don't see it inside the HTML page, but it still wraps the swf in a div which by default will be positioned in the upperleft of the browser window.
    This is the only way I've been able to center using SWFObject—note that it's the "flashcontent" div style that does the centering not the align embed parameter:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en">
    <head>
    <title>S W F | Centered</title>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html" />
    <!-- Centers the swf on the page. Note: width and height need to match the swf and margin left and right are -.50%-->
    <style type="text/css">
              #flashcontent {width: 1000px; height: 750px; margin-left: -500px; margin-top: -375px; position: absolute; left: 50%; top: 50%;}
    </style>
              <script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>
              <script type="text/javascript">
                        var flashvars = {};
                        flashvars.myFlashVar = "Testing";
                        var params = {}; //Embed parameters: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/127/tn_12701.html
                        params.quality = "best";
                        params.align="t"
                        //SWFObject parameters: http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/wiki/api
                        swfobject.embedSWF("swftest.swf", "flashcontent", "1000", "750", "10.0", false, flashvars, params);
              </script>
    </head>
    <!-- ALT HTML TEXT-->
    <body style="background-color: #888888">
              <div id="flashcontent">

  • Positioning navigation bar  vertical rather than horizontal on side on web

    Is it possible and I think it is to place the webitem navigation_block bar on the side of the page rather than the default position on the top, without modifying the web template ( at runtime)
    Even during the design time I am not able to make it vertical in wad.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    I don;t see 0Analyser bar as vertical, it is horintal. Below is the code from 0ANALYZER and I located the navigation bar. my guess is that there is a paramname that can specify vertical alignment.Don;t know what that would be. None of the properties has that option..
    <!-- Navigational block: GR1NavBlock--->
    <object>
             <param name="OWNER" value="SAP_BW"/>
             <param name="CMD" value="GET_ITEM"/>
             <param name="NAME" value="GR1NavBlock"/>
             <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_NAV_BLOCK"/>
             <param name="DATA_PROVIDER" value="DP"/>
             <param name="GENERATE_CAPTION" value=""/>
             <param name="WIDTH" value="200"/>
             <param name="SHOW_AXES_GROUPING" value="X"/>
