Web Premium CS 4 upgrade question

I purchase Web Premium CS3.3 for my daughter when Adobe was offering a free upgrade to CS4 once it became available. We never installed the CS4 upgrade on her PC. In fact, we've never opened the box. The label on the box says "ST WD, CS4,WIN, UPG,UE DIR, DV, FROM CS3.3", PN: 65016949. I'm wondering if I can install it on a PC that only has Photoshop CS2 installed. Does anyone know if CS3.3 must be installed for this upgrade to install correctly? Thanks

Just have the disks and serial number handy.

  • CS6 Design and Web Premium serial number upgrade problem

I bought the Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium upgrade to replace Design Premium CS5.5 on my computer but during installation I'm told I don't own a qualifying product. Have I purchased the wrong upgrade?

    Hi niamhy
The serial number for CS5.5 wasn't accepted as it was a volume licensing product.  I see one of my colleagues has helped you out with this.

  • Can I upgrade to CS6 web Premium from CS4 Web Premium at the upgrade price?

I purchased CS4 Web Premium and it was sold as an upgrade. At the time I hade CS2 and Photoshop CS3/Deamweaver CS3/ and Fireworks CS3. I did have to contact Adobe support to activate my upgrade as the product mix was incompatable with the CS4 upgrade serial number. It was no problem and Adobe activated the entire suite. I have been purchasing Adobe products since 2006 and did not think I needed to upgrade every cycle to be ellagible for the upgrade pricing. As well, purchasing every upgrade would be nearly as expenxsive as full price anyway. More important, the upgrades (CS5) are not always substantial and give marginal benefit for the money.

Obviously Adobe is moving away from the amateur and hobby market.
You have it all wrong. CS products never were aimed at hobbyists in the first place. Any such use was accidental. Everything beyond that is irrelevant - many people spend much more money on other "hobbies" be it their car, sports, travel or whatever. anmd you'lll even find many people who buy much more expensiove software than Adobe tools just for their sparetime pleasure...

Yes. New versions leave old versions in place and don't disable them in any way.

  • I bought Adobe CS6 Design Web Premium, can I upgrade to Master Collection ?

I bought Adobe CS6 Design Web Premium in marth 2014.
Now I'm in university and I will learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro.
Unfortunately, this software isn't include in the suite that I purchased.
Is it possible to upgrade to the Master Collection suite ? Or maybe to have a special price to buy the Creative Suite Production Premium ?
    Thank you.

As a student you are usually able to purchase Adobe software at a reduced price.  While you cannot usually upgrade a student/teacher version of software you can still purchase the software at a substantial savings.  You should look into this if you have noit already done so.
For details regarding the student/teacher provisions you can refer to the following information page:

  • Premium HA license upgrade question

    Hi all,
One of our customer wants upgrade their UCCX from 8.5 to 10.6. They have premium HA license and valid UCSS/ESW for their all premium seats and outbound IVR ports. I checked ordering guide, it showed there is no UCSS for HA license. I'm wondering does the existing UCSS/ESW cover HA upgrade or we need to order CCX-85-10-PHA under CCX-10-UPG-K9?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi
    Just go to www.cisco.com/upgrade
Bash in your UCSS/ESW contract number.
Follow the guide and select UCCX with PHA on the end of it.
You buy UCSS for UCCX, not for HA specifically - you just need to ensure you order the correct license during the upgrade procedure. If you order non-HA, it won't work.

  • CS4 Web Premium Upgrade Price Seems Unfair

We own CS2, Macromedia Studio 8 and we have the CS3 Web Premium. The upgrade price to CS4 Web Premium is $599. This is the same price for someone upgrading from Studio 8 or CS2 Premium. What about the people who have bought each upgrade (not counting CS3.3) This upgrade price seems way to high. Just my two cents.

Are you complaining that it is too high, or that there should be different tiers of upgrades?
Adobe's policy has always been that you can upgrade from any of the last three versions. It is my understanding that this will be changing soon, and people who have upgraded more recently DO get a lower price. I believe the price to go from CS2 to CS4 will be $799 sometime next year. Since this is a new policy, they are giving people a few months to buy under the old policy.
If anything, this is the fairest thing I've ever seen a corporation do. They are making a policy more fair, while still not hurting the people who didn't know the change was coming.
That said, I do agree $599 is a bit steep for someone who just upgraded recently, especially for the Web package. The upgrade to CS3 Production Premium was $799, where the CS4 upgrade is $599...that seems fair to me (though they dropped Ultra from the package.) However, the CS3 Web Premium upgrade was $599 (or was it $499?) It does seem out of wack price-wise. The fact that Design Premium now includes Fireworks makes the Web Premium price even less attractive.
In your particular situation, it sounds to me like you have FULL licenses for CS2 AND Studio 8, and then an upgrade to CS3 Web. Basically, you have at least one license you aren't using (unless you're using it on another computer.) My advice would be to sell your CS2 or Studio 8 license, whichever is worth more these days. When I upgraded to CS3 Web Premium, I owned both Studio MX 2004 AND CS2 Premium licenses. I sold the CS2 license, and it almost paid for my Studio MX to CS3 Web upgrade.

  • Installing Web Premium CS4 Student Edition on Laptop After Windows 7 Upgrade Question

I hope that this hasn't been asked before but my question is the following: I want to upgrade my laptop computer from Windows XP to Windows 7.  But I hear that all programs get uninstalled after installing Windows 7 on a Windows XP machine.  I would have to reinstall all programs again to use Web Premium CS4.  But my student edition says that I can only install the program on two computers.  Does this mean that I can install the program only two times or can I still install on the same laptop after changing the OS (I installed CS4 on two computers, my laptop and desktop)?  I would very much like to continue using Web Premium CS4 on my laptop but am worried that I won't be able to install it since I installed CS4 on my laptop and desktop (two installs already).  Let me know if I can install on the same laptop after upgrading to Windows 7.  Thanks in advance for the help.
    WebMacro123

The issue is not installation...it's activation. Deactivate the software first. (Help > Deactivate from any application).
Back up all of your data, preferences, etc because as you note, this will be a clean install of Windows. Be aware that this is only recommeneded method for upgrading a Windows installation. NEVER do an in place Windows (or, IMO, Mac OSX) upgrade.

  • CS3 Web Premium Upgrade question

While in school a while back, I purchased the educational
version of Macromedia Studio MX 2004. Does the educational version
qualify me for upgrade pricing on CS3 Web Premium?
    Thanks,

Were it still a Macromedia product, it would not. But, I
    believe that
Adobe's policy is different. Your most unequivocal answer
    would come from
Adobe, I think. Contact Customer Service and ask them....

  • Help! Upgrade Fireworks CS5 (from Creative Suite 5 Web Premium) to Fireworks CS6 not working!

Today I bought and downloaded Fireworks CS6 from the Adobe webshop as an update for my Fireworks CS5 that was included in my Creative Suite 5 Web Premium-set.
But during the installation of Fireworks CS6 the serial number of my Creative Suite 5 Web Premium - needed for the installer to verify that I could 'legaly' upgrade - was not accepted! So now I can use Fireworks CS6 only as a try-out-version...
What can I do? If Creative Suite 5 Web Premium isn't the right upgrade-version: how can I get my money back? Or is there another solution?
    Please help Adobe!
    And thanks in advance,

Thanks for the reply. but how do I manually weed out the install entries in my registry? could you please guide me with the steps? This http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html is not working I am afraid. I understand that I need to uninstall the creative suite before I run CS cleaner. But as I explained in my first question, the uninstallation is not working at all. Even I could uninstall the software, I am afraid that I may get into trouble if installatin is not working. All I want is that my photoshop error " save for web devices " which was grayed out should work as normal. This error happened after I moved the plug-ins.
    Thanks

  • Upgrading to CS4 web premium ... or wait for CS5 ?

The actual question I have for anyone who may have some insight:  Is there anything groundbreaking in the works for Dreamweaver, Photoshop or Illustrator in CS5 which is due to be released in about 6 months ?
We have CS3 Web Standard, and now want to upgrade to Web Premium so we can get Photoshop and Illustrator which we now need, but with some pain could probably find a way to hold off for another 6 months .... if it was worth the wait that is. We don't necessarily need (and can't afford) the latest Software version all the time, but has there been any discussion about Improvements or New Features in the next release that's going to make us regret not waiting .......... ?
    * We are a small home business, but don't want to miss out on any major changes if you know what I mean . . .

If you cannot afford the latest software all the time, why would you want to jump from CS3 to CS4? That falls under the 'all the time' category by going for a consecutive upgrade. A more economical way to go would be to leap-frog releases (CS3 to CS5).
The possible upgrade to CS5 may offer better integration of the apps. Since Adobe bough Macromedia a few years ago, it has been gradually blending the apps to be friendly with each other. It would not be a stretch of the imagination that a CS5 web design workflow might be better than with CS4.
Many web designers find Fireworks a decent replacement for both Illustrator and Photoshop. If you want to explore other image editors, consider GIMP (gimp.org) as a substitute for Photoshop and Inkscape (inkscape.org) as a substitute for Illustrator until you really need to upgrade.

I wouldn't expect anything groundbreaking from one version to the next.  It sometimes comes down to maximizing your operating system to take advantage of speed boosts in both the OP and CS applications.  Your existing CS3 system may not be compatable with the requirements of CS5 whatever they may be, or not.  It's hard to say.  If you are planning on getting new hardware ( sounds like you are not ), then you may want to wait. If you plan on using your existing hardware, you may be able to upgrade to CS4.  But from the sounds of it, CS3 and Tiger is a pretty good combination and you will be able to get away with using that for awhile.  There have been significant fixes from CS2 to CS4, where CS3 had it's problems in Illustrator ( not sure about PS ).  Adobe sometimes throws a bone out to people who buy CS4 and get a break when they ante up for CS5, just be aware of the system requirements.

  • "Web Premium 5.5" and Upgrading

    Hello,
    I have a pre-upgrade purchase question.
I currently have Adobe Web Premium 5.5 and am researching what my upgrade price to 6 would be. My suite version only contains Ps, Dw,  Ai, Fw, and Fl. I don't see a comparable package to upgrade to other than "Design AND Web Premium 6," which adds InDesign. That upgrade price is $375.
Is that correct? My upgrade would provide InDesign as well?
    Thanks!

Yes, but you might want to consider Creative Cloud as well:

  • Web Premium Upgrade CS4 to CS5 - no need to re-install Acrobat Pro?

Just received Web Premium Upgrade package today. Currently have CS3 Web Standard. and CS4 Web Premium installed so will be removing CS3 Standard before attempting CS5 upgrade. My question concerns Acrobat Pro 9, perhaps obviously given the forum I'm posting in! :-) Would I be correct in assuming that given I have an up-to-date version of Acrobat Pro 9 installed as part of CS4 I can ignore the CS5 Acrobat installation? That's based on an associated assumption that the upgrade package is intended to also cover upgrades from CS4 Standard and other suites that did not include Acrobat Pro.

Apologies; answered my own question! From the CS5 installation instructions (online, not provided with installation package) "If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro installed, either as part of a suite or as a standalone application, you do not need to reinstall it." From http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/825/cpsid_82596.html
