Web Process Pop Ups

I keep getting these annoying these WebProccess pop ups every time I try to access a new page on the internet & when my Mac starts up. I have to keep allowing the connection to these ports.
I didn't even know I had a firewall on my Mac, is there particular software that causes these pop ups?
How can I get rid of them?
Thanks

I only get these infuriating pop-ups when browsing via the latest version of Safari.  When using Firefox 4.0 with Little Snitch, I have no problems.
Currently using Ghostery to prevent info back flow (Google Analytics, Adplex, etc) but again, no problems with FireFox or Little Snitch.

  • Why are there dozens of "web process" pop ups after wipe and load of 10.6.8 on Mac Mini by Genius Bar?

I just had my Mac Mini (early 2009) in at the Genius Bar as it was running very slow.  They did a multi hour scan of the harddrive, etc.  Did not find any hardware problems.  They did a wipe and loaded 10.6.8 on the Mini.  The Apple folks were great to work with.  I picked it up today and and set it all up.  Using Safari, I am now going through 6-12 "Web Process" with each and every web page I go to!!  Safari is completely unusable in this fashion.  Can this be changed or must I use a different web browser.

    Good morning,
Not quite sure what you mean by 6/12 'web process' with every page I go to.  The version 5.1.7 is correct for the Snow Leopard OS X.
Run a software update, just in case the geniuses didn't, and check if you or they have installed any Safari extentions.   If so delete / disable them all and try again.
If Safari then shows signs of normality, reinstall the extentions one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem.
Oh, and have you got 'Block pop up windows' checked in Safari menu?

  • All printing from Firefox (web sites, pop-ups, email) is very light. Docs (Word, iPages, etc.) and pdfs print fine. Problem with update?

Printing from Safari is good. Prints good when sent to another printer in house (not updated to 7.0.1).

  • How to change internet preferences to allow pop ups in a particular URL?

How to enable pop ups in a specific URL site on the internet using SAFARI (so that it's statements in my account online can be viewed and printed)?  I am advised by the financial entity that pop ups need to be allowed on their web site.

Gail, later last night I did find an article through Apple's online support that I have copied below to get to the pop- up subdirectory via clicking in sequence on Safari/preferences/security. So, I agree that I can find no way in Safari to block or unblock specific web site pop-ups, but this does block/unblock in general.

Safari 6 (OS X Mountain Lion): Block pop-ups and unnecessary content
You can set Safari to prevent webpages from displaying pop-up windows or loading time-consuming content that may be unnecessary.
Unfortunately, many beneficial features use the same technology as ads and other content you might not want to see. So if you block pop-up windows or other web content, you might also block the animation and interactivity that make webpages interesting.
    Block pop-ups on webpages
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click Security.
    Turn on “Block pop-up windows.”
Blocking pop-up windows stops only those windows that appear when you open or close a page. It does not block pop-up windows that open when you click a link.
If you block pop-up windows, you might miss important information for a webpage. For example, a website that provides services to you might use a pop-up window to request your user name.
    Block unnecessary webpage content
Open Safari if it is not already open.
Choose Safari > Preferences, and then click Security.
In the “Web content” section, select or deselect types of content you want to block or enable. For an explanation of the options, click the Help button (looks like a question mark).

Your brother may have downloaded and installed something known as "adware." To see if that's the case, visit thomas_r.'s The Safe Mac website and look at the Adware Removal Guide page. You may also be able to use his Adware Removal Tool to get rid of the junk.

  • HT202225 I keep getting pop ups on my iMac for the first time in 6 years after one of my kids tried to watch football through crichd tv. safari now opens with smart search engine rather than google every time i try to open a new web page.

Ever since one of my kids tried to watch football on a website called crichd tv I keep getting pop us come up like Mackeeper and every time i try to open a web page it comes up with Smartsearch rather than google which is my preferred search engine in preferences. I have blocked extensions and changed homepage to google but this Smartsearch keeps overriding. Also a thing called MacKeeper keeps popping up I have followed the instructions to uninstall but the file it says to move to trash from the Applications folder but it simply isn't there or anywhere else. The file to uninstall Smartsearch is also not where they say it is in Library>frameworks>
Very frustrating from going from a perfectly working system to a now very frustrating and annoying pop ups coming uo after every time i open a new web page.
Any help or assistance in this matter would be very much appreciated.

You (or your kids) inadvertently installed adware. You do not need to download or install anything to fix it.
Any tips on how to stop it from happening?
Yes. To learn how to avoid it in the future read How to install adware.
If you require them, Apple's removal instructions are linked in the Recovery Procedure near the end of that document. Read and follow them carefully. Pay particular attention to the easily overlooked passages directing you to restart your Mac when required.

  • In IOS 7 some web pop ups freeze, I can only resume safari if I delete data and cookies from the safari settings

I recently installed IOS 7 and I getting used to the new feel.  However, I have encounted a problem at least three times now.  If I am shopping and a web message pops up, such as "you must select size before quantity" or "you have exceeded the number of items" there is a box that displays "ok" for you to acknowledge the mistake and continue.  In IOS 7, the pop ups freeze, I am not able to click "ok" and make the dialog box go away.  My only solution so far is to go to settings -- safari-- clear data and cookies.  Any help or insight would be appreciated!

    My iPad also experiences this.

  • Browser preferences - web clip incompatible with pop-ups?

    Hi,
I'm a newbie to iOS & Safari and I've haven't been able to work out the following:
I use a web-browser client app for work.
Since it is an app (with its own built-in navigation), I'd like to clear up space on my screen and use Safari in Full-Screen Mode.
I've therefore created what I believe is called a "Web Clip" (to add an icon with a direct link to the apps' login screen on my desktop/start screen).
When I double-click on this link, no Safari toolbar shows up (address box, navigation buttons, page tabs, etc.) so the interface is neat and has the feel of a standalone app.
However, a couple of functions stop working in this mode (they work fine in the "standard mode"):
I don't receive pop-ups (I'm able to launch reports against the server, which in turn is supposed to send back a PDF-file which should open in a new window or tab).
    I can't use a click-on email-link to create a message (it's a simple mailto:x link).
I've searched all the configuration options I could think of but nothing solves this.
    Can it be done?
If not, is there any way to "reduce" the space occupied by Safari's toolbar?
    Thanks

I'm sorry Jim but I just wouldn't know where to start.
This is not a developer question, I'm just trying to configure the iPad appropriately.
Do you know if there is any configuration option on the iPad Air that "enables pop-ups" in Safari "full-screen mode"??

  • No pop-ups with partner determination in Interaction Center Web UI

    Hi,
We are working with SAP CRM 7.0 SP06 and have the following problem.
In Interaction Center Web UI, when we create a sales order, the partner determination is triggered. But no pop-ups are shown to choose the right business partner. When we use Web UI for different Role (not Interaction Center), then we will get pop-ups to choose.
So partner determination is alright, but pop-ups are not working for us in Interaction Center.
I know when using SAP GUI Interaction Center, you have to implement SAP Note 487734 for getting the pop-ups. But this note is not relevant for CRM 7.0 and Web UI.
Do you know what the problem is?
    Regards,
    Emile

    Hi Naga,
    In customizing go to:
Customer Relationship Management => Interaction Center WebClient => Business Transaction => Define Business Transaction Profiles
Then for your Business Transaction Profile go to 'Business Transaction Dialog Boxes' and mark the 'Allows Dialog Box' field.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
