Web rich client -- report tabs missing in edit mode

Hello,
A report was created in web Rich client and then was exported in the BO repository. In view mode, we
see all tabs, but in edit mode,only two tabs are displayed.
any idea please?

I also faced the same issue.
I could replicate the issue suceessfully on a consistent basis.
STEPS to replicate the issue
1.     Create a new webi report using Island Resorts Marketing Universe
2.     Query Panel Objects
a.     Country, Resort, Service, Number of guests
3.     Run query (Tab 1 is created automatically)
a.     Report 1 u2013 Table containing above objects
4.     Right Click Report 1 - >Insert Report -> rename it to u2018Crosstabu2019
5.     Move the report tab to Left such that Crosstab appears as first tab
6.     Drag Crosstab from Templates.
a.     Pull Country and Resort objects as rows to Crosstab
b.     Pull Service as Column to Crosstab
c.     Pull Number of guests as measure to Crosstab
7.     Select Country -> Insert Break
8.     Select Resort -> Insert Break
9.     Select Resort First and Country Second -> Click on Merge Cells button
10.     Select No
11.     Now again click on Merge Cells button
12.     Select Yes this time.
13.     Save the report.
14.     View the report from Infoview. You will see both tabs
15.     Edit the report. (You cannot edit the second tab - Report 1. Edit the first tab u2018Crosstabu2019)
16.     only one tab is visible. Other tab u2018Report 1u2019 is missing.
Observations:
Report Footer appears as the top section in Map -> Structure
So my conclusion is when a reverse merge is applied on Crosstab with breaks, this issue occurs.
But i don't know how to recover the tabs in Edit mode.
Please let me know how to recover the missed tabs in Edit Mode. Also let me know the other scenarios which might lead to the same issue.

Hi Sai,
Go to Report Element Tab-->There you have a Tab Cell Behaviors.
When you flip between 'With Data' and 'Structure Only' under 'Design' Tab,you can see the some cells will be hide/Un hide behavior,if hiding of cells applied.
Select that cell and then Under 'Cell Behaviors'-->'Hide' Tab-->and choose Show Option.

Report tabs disappear from Edit mode

Hi,
I am experiencing a seriously puzzling issue in BO XI R2 (Web Intelligence). A user claims that she lost half of the tabs in her report after it was migrated from staging to prod with Import Wizard.
Indeed when I click on Modify, in the Edit Report view several report tabs are missing. It's not just a case of scrolling to the right unfortunately...
I first thought that the user deleted the report tabs accidentally but when running the report, the missing tabs show up.
There is no such thing as a hide functionality from what I hear I checked in the report map but the missing tabs are not visible there.
Any idea?
The BO version is 11.5.9.1076 which is SP3.
A hotfix released with CHF20 (ADAPT00722944) is said to have resolved a similar issue where the last report tab of a multi tab web-I report would disappear when editing it This should be covered by SP3 though so I should be getting this issue.

Oh Boy. I am now experiencing this behaviour in Webi. The webi is still in Dev. When I ran on info-view with 'view' mode, it has displayed all tabs in the report, but when I pressed 'Edit' button and did some variable changes, I lost all tabs, but for the first one. I hit the Save button without noticing this behaviour.
I fortunately had a copy of this webi. I see the same behaviour there. View mode shows all tabs, but as soon as I press Edit mode, I lose all tabs except the first one. For now, I am not saving it and coming out. But I need to make changes to this webi.
Strange!!
Anyone else is facing this issue or any SAP solution. We are on BOBJ XI R 3.1 SP3 (We don't have FP3.2 yet)

Report Developed in Webi Rich Client Consuming more time in Data Retrieval

Dear All,
I am a BO Consultant, recently in my project I have developed one report in Webi Rich Client., at the time of development and subsequent days the report was working fine (taking Data Retrieval time less than 1 minute), but after some days its taking much time (increasing day by day and now its taking more than 11 minutes).
Can anybody point out what could be the reason?????
We are using,
1. SAP BI 7.0
2. SAP BO XI 3.1 Edge
3. Webi Rich Client Version :12.3.0 and Build 601
This report is made on a Multiprovider (Sales).
What are the important points that should be considered so that we can improve the performance of Webi Reports????

Please come back here with a copy/paste of the 2 MDX statements from the MDA.log to compare the good/bad runtimes.
& the 2 equivalent DPCOMMANDS clauses (good and bad) from the WebI trace logs.
Can u explain what u really mean in the bold text above..................Actually I didn't get you..........

Require LOV's should be displayed on single page for Webi Rich Client -R3.0

Hi all,
Is there any way to display the list of values in a single page when we apply a quick report level filter in Web intelligence Rich client report.
Behavior:
When we have large list of values for an object then the list of values are displayed in pages......
We can avoid the pages in Webi by making changes to the 'List of value batch size' from 1000 to 10000.
Is there any setting for displaying the list of values for Web Intelligence rich client ?

BO XI 3.1 SP3 SSO with CMC and Webi Rich Client

Is it possible in BO XI 3.1 SP3 to use SSO with CMC and Webi Rich Client ?
It works fine with InfoView, Designer and Desktop Intelligence.

What kind of SSO authentication are you trying to set up? (AD, LDAP,...)
I think it's AD regarding your command line.
But be aware that in SSO, you don't need to configure the command line to run the client.

Regarding accessing CMC with SSO, it's not recomended at all as if you break this access, than you can't connect anymore to the CMC and modify settings.

Connection error in Webi Rich Client Bobj 4.1 sp1

I am getting an error while connecting Bobj server(4.1 sp2) through Webi rich client (4.1 Sp1).
When i am trying to connect to CMC, i am able to connect it.

I have few questions ans steps for you.
1. Are you able to login into any other BO client tool?
2. Do you have multiple Network Cards [NICs] on BO Server box?
If YES, we need to prioritize it as below. Once donw bind primary IP with CMS. as mentioned below.
Change Network Binding Order:
Click Start, click Network, click Network and Sharing Center, and then click Change Adapter Settings.
Press the ALT key, click Advanced, and then click Advanced Settings. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Adapters and Bindings tab, and then, under Connections, click the connection you want to modify.
Under Bindings for <connection name>, select the protocol that you want to move up or down in the list, click the up or down arrow button, and then click OK.
Bind Primary IP with CMS:
Log onto Central Management Console (CMC).
Open Central Management Server (CMS) properties page, under
Host Identifiers: change from Auto assign to IP Address
Then input CMS server local IP address beside (IPv4).
Do this for each CMS.
Restart the CMS.

Date Format is different in WebI Rich Client and Infoview

Iam facing problem with date format , but i need the date format as like dd-mm-yyyy.
WEBI Rich Client is displaying the format dd-mm-yyyy.
but in infoview it is displaying like mm/dd/yyyy
Can i have any solution for this ..

Query about Webi Rich client Install through Infoview in XI 3.1

When we Install Webi Rich client through Infoview on a client box ,It Install all language packages .
Is this a default behavior (So that we can log it in Enhancement request) or It is Potential bug with Product.
If this is a default behavior ?Is there a way we can Install only one package(Say English ).

When we Install Webi Rich client through Infoview on a client box I didnt get this point why you install WebI rich cliet through Infoview?
When you intially Start Igeneral BO3.1 Client nstallation It will show you the various languages the BO can be installed in among those by default it will be in English.Please select that or any other language you wish and go next you will get your Installation done.

Bank row was added in webi rich client when using excel as data provider

reproduding steps:
1.open webi rich client.
2.Create a new webi report,then select "local data source"
3.select an excel file as data source.
4.run query.
For example,there are 5rows in excel,but in webi report there are 6 rows,and the last row is bank which is added by webi.

1. mcro has been defined in the excel file,is there any impact by using macro?

test1:Delete the last row which is blank row of the excel file,refresh webi report, the last blank row is still there.
test2: press ALT+F8,delete marco in the excel file,refresh webi report, the last blank row is still there,then delete the last blank row in the excel file ,save excel file,refresh webi,the last blank row is disappear.

Which ports does Webi Rich CLient use to connect to Universe etc..

Hello together,
we have the problem that we cannot run Rich Client from computers outside our network - so which ports does webi Rich Client use to connect to BO Serverl?.
It will always say universe not found. Login to rich client and everything else is possible.
It's not an authorisations problem, inside the network people can run the programs fine.

i assume you have enable CMS port on the firewall, apart from this you need to enable IFRS and Connection Server port also.

Webi Rich client - unable to connect to BO 4.0 Server.

Hello All,
we have a same issue while connecting to a BO4.0 server.from WEBI Rich client .
We are able to connect to infoview from browser,and able to open WEBI from browser.
but when tried from WEBI Rich client, we get error : Logon failure due to an internal error.
We have updated the hosts file but did not help.
Please help.

What happens if you change your preferences in BILaunch pad, so that the Webi Rich Client is launched when you Modify webi report ?
This way WRC will be launched in 3-tier mode and if succesfull this will indicate that WRC in 2-tier mode can't connect to CMS and FRS due to either Firewall or other problems.
Also, from WRC machine - can you connect using Designer or IDT ?

Xcelsius vs Webi Rich Client

If in a SAP implementation project BI reports are being designed using BEx Query Designer, is it necessary/mandatory that the BO reports i.e. Dashboards should be designed using Webi Rich Client tool, or can it also be possible using Xcelsius 2008 (formerly) now SAP BO Dashboards.)

BO consultant can design & work on both Dashboard's & webi reports not only these need to work on other tools also like UDT,IDT, OLAP ,QAWS,Crystal Reports etc.
Business req & type of user : either report need to shown for
1. High level mgt ( Dashboard's)
2.Middle level mgt
3.Low level mgt

Till now I have very much user friendly with Xcelsius , so should I continue with Xcelsius or start doing R & D on Webi Rich client, so that if at all in the future it is required, it will make my work comfortable :
For this i explained it purely depends on Business requirement .
Mostly as a BO consultant need to be Familiar with all Reporting tool's (Xcelsius,webi,Crystal,Olap etc)

Our requirement is to store a universe on any shared location and all the users can access this universe and build reports using webi Rich client two tier. We are trying implement this by following steps.
There is an option in rich client to change the default universe location to save. When you login to Webi Rich Client and go to Tools-->Options, there you can give the shared location where the universe is saved. By doing this users can access the universe that is in shared drive, but all users must have a local ODBC connection to run the reports using Rich Client in Two tier.

Variable screen of webi rich client differs from one of Infoview

We are on BO XI 3.1 sp3, universe of the top of SAP BI 7.01 query.Webi version 12.3.0
Char1 is set to delegated search. Variable1 for char1 is mandatory, multiple single values on SAP BI side.
Webi reports (executed from webi rich client) allows search by value for this char1. Webi report (executed from infoview) doesnt allow any search for char1.
Button FIND (match case) looks inactive. It doesnt start search.
I tried different combinations (see below) but it doesnt help.
