Web Server 6.1 Error failure ( 967): HTTP3068: Error receiving request

Hi I have install Sun web server 6.1 on my T2000 system with solaris 10, the web server run the Siebel CRM application, but it is tooooo slow to bring the first page. Takes about 6.07 sec to bring the login page. The log files of the web server gives me a lot of +"failure ( 967): HTTP3068: Error receiving request"+.

I don't know why you are seeing those errors, I've not tested using IBM LDAP. For your second question about adding jar file, you can try specifying the path settings using the Admin Server GUI . JVM Path Settings option exists under Java tab in the admin gui for the instance that you are managing. Let us know how it goes for you.

Web Matrix FTP Remote Connection Error - "Connection Error - Failure to get file list from server. An entry with the same key already exists."

Does anyone have experience with this issue when connecting to a Linux FTP Web Server running a FTP Site?
"Connection Error - Failure to get file list from server. An entry with the same key already exists."
I cannot access the root directory of the ftp file server using Web Matrix 3. The site is .php based, and
is accessible when connecting with FileZilla or Remote Connecting via FTP with Visual Studio.
All sites have been deleted from Web Matrix, the user Application Data has been cleared and Web Matrix has been reinstalled.
Issue Persists....

Turns out that the program leaves metadata in your app data folder that is not removed upon uninstallation of the software.
This is incorporated to communicate with a file that uploaded into the ftp directory when publishing pages.

Which version of Sun web server are you using? Is it 6.1, 7.0 or 7.0 Update2.
6.1 supports Servlet 2.3 spec. 7.0 supports Servlet 2.4 spec and 7.0 Update 1 and 2 support Servlet 2.5.
Servlet 2.3 is DTD based and Servlet 2.4 onwards are schema based.
The DTD or schema will be right after XML prolog in web.xml.
You can use one of the following:

I am sure your web.xml is not correctly written for the DTD/schema used.
If you take care of that I am sure th problem will go away.

Hi Awen,
Please open Server Manager > Roles > see if Web Server (IIS) has been installed.
If installed, I’d recommend you refer to Abdel’s method in the link below. He encountered the same issue when install SharePoint 2013 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and fixed the problem. For your reference:

After installing iPlanet Web Server v6 SP2, there is error message: https-admserv60 cannot be found??

After installing iPlanet Web Server v6 SP2 on Windows 2000 SP2, error message in the event log shows up. "The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( https-admserv60 ) cannot be found."
"The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: startup: server started successfully."
The iPlanet 6SP2 seems to work fine but these error message occur after rebooting the server. There is actually 2 messaages: one for the admin server and the
other for the actual web server instance. Both state
'server started successfully' but these messages still
appear.
Any ideas how to correct this?

this will occur, as the 6.x servers do not use the lodctrl to place the perf monitor messages in the registry...as long as the server starts & runs ok, you can ignore these particular errors

Please help!!! I am going on 9 days now trying to install SharePoint 2013 onto a VM. I have tried Hyper-V and VMWare and am getting the same result with both.
Running Windows 8.1 with 16 GBs of RAM.
The pre-req installer will not install anything!! And I get this error:
The tool was unable to install Application
Server Role, Web Server (IIS) Role
So I installed the Web Server IIS Role and restart... still no luck
Then I ran this command:
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i -enable
And get this message: "This option is not supported on this version of the operating system. Admins should instead install/uninstall ASP.NET 4.5 with IIS8 using the "Turn Windows Features On/Off dialog....
9 days of cussing and pulling my hair out... please someone help.. I just want to run the Pre-Req installer and install SharePoint on a VM Machine.

Distributing Applet in Web Server

Hello,
I am in the process of creating a new web server. Although, I have found an error that when you retrieve applets from my server they don't work, whereas they do normally if locally. The file is send exactly as it is through a binary transfer. I am wondering if Java has any sort of header information or something that must be attached to the transfer while being sent or if anyone has encountered this before.

Well, as I said I am creating a web server. It works by when it recieves a request for a file, it opens the file in binary mode and transfers it as binary to the program that requested it (the web browser).
I have created an applet that works fine when it is run locally on my desktop, but when I try to run it through my web server by setting the codebase equal to "http://localhost/" the applet will not run. It returns a NullPointerException and I am not sure why.

Perl Buffer Issue on Sun Java Web Server 7_3

I currently migrating a website built using Perl on Apache. I was able to setup the Sun Java Web Server to run the site without any errors. During testing we noticed one small anomoly that I just can't figure out. Many of the Perl scripts run for 30+ seconds. The scripts render a portion of the response, HTML, that displays a status to the user. In Apache this displays fine, but in the Sun Java Web Server nothing is displayed until the script is complete. We have the "$| = 1;" command sprinkled throughout the scripts to properly flush the buffer, but that doesn't seem to work. Is there a config option that I'm missing that will help flush the buffer from CGI programs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I made the change in my /webserver7/https-webserver.fmr.com/config/obj.conf file. Here is a complete copy of my obj.conf file. I've restarted the webserver instance and still the buffer doesn't seem to be flushing anything to the client until the perl script is done running.

Did you ever figure out how to fix this issue with the Sun Webserver 6.1 that you had back in July last year with the "Error receiving request from <ip address> (Connection refused)" messages? We are using Weblogic 8.1 as application server and IWS as web server. We have
siteminder web agent configured on the web server for implementing authentication
and authorization.
All our requests first go to the web server which redirects them to the application
server.
Since Weblogic itself has a http listen port, user can still send requests directly
to the application server(which does not have any siteminder configuration on
it). Is it possible to ensure that all http requests made directly to the application
server are not processed so that the user is forced to hit the web server first.

When you say redirect, do you mean you use an HTTP redirect to send it to your
WLS servers URL? Or do you mean you proxy the requests from the webserver to
the WLS instance? In the former case, you must expose WLS's HTTP server to the
clients in order to redirect them to the address and you will not be able to
stop them from going directly there. In the case of the latter, you can put
your WLS instance behind the firewall so external users can't get to it. If you
also need to protect it from internal users you should probably not use
siteminder as your authentication mechanism. You may be able to configure
siteminder so that it has to authenticate itself to send requests to weblogic
and then protect all weblogic resources with that role requirement.

Any way to capture output from iPlanet Web Server V6 at socket level?

I'm wondering if it's possible to configure the iPlanet Web Server (V6) so that I can capture the full request and response of a hit and "log" them to another process. Something like a pipeline of NSAPI modules would be ideal. I've written similar code for Apache, IIS, and Tomcat and am wondering if this is possible for iPlanet?

I would like to know whether it is possible to run a WebLogic server on Solaris
and IIS web server on NT and have IIS forward its JSP requests to WebLogic.

Hi,
I have never seen that issue before. I would confirm
1. Is this a supported version of Windows?
2. Are you using a VM?
The error itself occurs when the client connection is being read. The read process has returned no data and printed the Windows error message. Maybe something
else is reading on the socket.
