Web Services Framework - WSDL Generation

Hi, all!
Question: Is it possible to adapt the wizard-generated WSDL-Files by adding additional elements to the <xsd:sequence>?

I recommend you implement your web service with JAX-WS 2.0
Axis (both version) are good but why do you want to use something that is not included in JEE API, when Java provide same thing with better performance.
personally try to prevent non standard technologies despite they can be better than core java implementation sometimes.
I don't know Xfire.
the good:
-JAX-WS performance is better than axis,
- you can create your web service simply with annotation.(this means write class and then make it as a service easily)
- support every kind of service invocation(callback,Asynchronous,...)
- architecture is nice (you can operate on SOAP level)
the Bad:
- It is JEE 5 or JSE 6 dependent.
- there is seriously lack of documentation and examples for it, on java web sites and internet.

Error when generating a Web Service from WSDL (Weblogic Workshop)

I am using weblogic workshop 10 for implementing web services and its was working fine. But now when I try to generate a web service from WSDL its crashing with the following error;

I have checked my ANT_HOME and its pointing to the correct location bea\tools\eclipse32\eclipse\plugins\org.apache.ant_1.6.5 and the AntMain classs is present in this path: org.apache.tools.ant.launch.AntMain

How to pass username and password while invoking a web service through wsdl

Hello All,
i am calling a web service through wsdl, but it is giving error 401. i want to know how to pass userid and password when i am invoking webservice?
i am using NetBeans 6.1.
i did following thing:
First i created one web application, then i right clicked on project new->web service client, and gave the url for my wsdl.
after that i create one main class and try to call my required operation by that wsdl.

Thanks dumchikov, i tried the same thing what ever you told but there is no option for security.
when i right clicked on web service reference its open 1 window which have 2 tab one is quality of service and second is wsdl customization, then i clicked on wsdl customization. which contain Global Customization, Port Types, Port Type Operations, Port Type Faults, Binding, Binding Operations, Services, Ports and External Binding Files. it don't have security option.

Error creating web service from WSDL in 11.1.2.0.0

I have just installed JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0. I tried to test a web service created (and successfully tested) in 11.1.1.5.0. The service is deployed to internal WebLogic server but when I call "Test Web Service" this is the error I get:

Hi Vishal,
no, I don't see any HTTPS security settings defined. The thing is that this worked just fine in 11.1.1.5.0 version. I installed 11.1.2.0.0 and the first thing I tried was testing this web service. Right away I get this error. I also tried creating Web Service Client Proxy for this web service and I get the same exception. I looks to me that this happens when wizard tries parsing WSDL...
But, I got another error when I opened "Java Web Service Editor" for this web service and selected "Methods":

When to use Java Web Service from WSDL, Webservice proxy, Web Service DataControl -- JDeveloper 11.1.1.7

Hi Experts!
I am having confusion among these 3 services provided in Oracle ADF. When to use and what service needs to be used?
Once we generate Webservice WSDL. With the WSDL we have 3 options in Jdeveloper to invoke this service.
1. Java Web Service From WSDL.
2. Web Service proxy,
3. Web Service Data Control.
Can anyone give us some brief description of these 3 services when do we need to use and which service is to be used for which scenario ?
Please give me your valuable inputs.

Trouble Creating Web Service from WSDL in 9.2

I am following the guide at: http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/webserv/setenv.html#wp214576 for creating a web service from wsdl using Ant. When i run the "wsdlc" task, it creates a Jar with source files but no class files. This seems odd.
So, i have to then manually unjar, compile, and re-jar it to work? And what about using the types in an IDE like Eclipse? I have to un-jar the source files and include them in my project? This makes no sense. Why not have the ant task compile the classes in the jar?

Which is the BEST Java Web Service Framework to use?

Hi all,
I'm a beginner to Web Services.
I am planning to implement java web services to make the communication between java(Tomcat Server) and C# client.
I found list of web service frameworks like,
1. Apache Axis,(POJO,Axiom)
2. JSON-RPC,
3. Java Web Services Development Pack ,
4. Web Services Invocation Framework,
5. Xfire,
6. XML Interface for Network Services. ...
Please do reply me that which web service framework will be efficient to use.

But, I want to know which Framework will provide
better performance?

Also I want to develope the web service as a standard
one andeach has it's own quircks and implementation details. Each should be able to generate and accept the same SOAP messages though if you implement them properly.
It should be able to provide bulk data exchange.
That will depend in large part on your hardware.
Please suggest a web service framework
(Java-based) which will give better performance.again, better than what?
Better than messenger pidgeons?
Better than swallows (European or African)?
And if so, how heavy would the message capsule be? 2 swallows may be able to carry a coconut together, holding it on a piece of string.

Generate web services form WSDL as part of build process

Hi, I am using Jdev drop7build2.
I have wsdl and schema types. From Jdeveloper we can generate webservices using "web services from WSDL". But I want to generate web services as part of my build process.
Is it possible to do this as part of build process ? any ant tasks or API etc ?

Drop 7 is an Oracle-internal build, as far as I know.
You should be asking on an internal Oracle list.

"java Web Service from WSDL" just hands me a SOAPElement, no java mappings

Another beginner question. I've used jdev and built a WSDL starting from a somewhat complex xsd. I've used the wizard "Java Web Service From WSDL" taking defaults. It seems to correctly generate class files for all my xsd types. It produces a fancy looking java-wsdl-mapping.xml But the generated stub service implementation just gets handed a SOAPElement object. Why generate all that mapping stuff and then make me parse the incoming data myself with SOAPElement methods? How am I supposed to make use of the mapping work that the wizard seems to have done for me?

Thanks for your intrest in my issue. I narrowed it down to the following type in my xsd

This works fine - the "WebSerice From WSDL" wizard "knows" how to generate a class for PersonInfoType (with geters and seters) as well as useful stub implementation:

However, if I make my type multiple occuring (to represnt e.g. rows from a db)

Now I'm stuck with the container just expecting from me a Soap Object and I have to build all the pieces myself with no java mappings to my xsd at all. Not very useful.
Is there another xml structure I can use to represent data rows that is better supported by the wizard?

Web Services without WSDL

I am trying to access a SOAP Web Service. I'm using cfinvoke
but the service doesn't provide WSDL.
Is there any way in ColdFusion to access a web service
without WSDL ?

Difference Between SAP Connectors and SAP Web Services Framework

Hi Pedro,
I guess you are talking about Business Connectors and XI.
If that is the case, the differences are:
SAP XI belongs to SAP Netweaver Technology, whereas BC is an Integration tool provided by Webmethods.
SAP XI is based on a model called "Hub & Spoke" and Business Connectors are "point to point". So by using XI, what happens is that you do not redesign Solutions once again.
With XI you save the entire integration knowledge of a collaborative process centrally in SAP XI: Objects at design time in the Integration Repository and objects at configuration time in the Integration Directory. In this way, SAP Exchange Infrastructure follows the principle of shared collaboration knowledge: You no longer need to search for information about a collaborative process in each of the systems involved, but can call this information centrally instead. This procedure considerably reduces the costs for the development and maintenance of the shared applications.
Also SAP XI comes with pre-configured solutions bundled along with it, so you can straight-away use the solution instead of redesigning.
Also i believe SAP XI is integrated as a required solution for some new mySAP solution like SRM, there are some scenarios within SRM requires SAP XI to be used and we cannot use BC's there.
But incase if you do not have multiple systems connected and communication is between just 2 systems, BC should be sufficient, instead of investing on XI.
But i guess slowly SAP will be stopping its support for BC, as SAP XI can do everything that BC does and even much more.

WSDL / Web Service Skeleton code Generation Tool

My name is Joe Roberts. I am a developer in the Oracle Insurance Global Business Unit, A recent Oracle acquisition. I currently have the need to create a web service based on a schema that has certain base fields that never change and certain other base fields that do change based upon each customer implementation. What I am looking for is a tool that will generate a WSDL and web service skeleton code from a schema from the command line so that I can automate this process. Does Oracle offer such a tool? I have looked for one but have not found it. The only tool that I have been able to find that does this is Spring-WS but I would rather not use Spring-WS and go with an Oracle solution if possible.

Web service proxy client generation fails

i want to generate a webservice proxy client of a web service. For the access to the wsdl file of this web service, basic authentication is required. How can i use the proxy generation tool with username and password? The wsa.jar -genProxy doesn't work because i dont know how i can submit username and password. Is it possible to integrate username and password anywhere?? Is there an other way to generate a webservice proxy client? Please help me :(
