Web Sharing with custom domain name

Hi,
I am wondering if I can use a custom domain name with the built in web sharing. Instead of it going to http://10.0.0.2/ it will be http://www.mydomain.com/. Thanks in advance.
Ryan

I have GoDaddy hosted domain name which I have setup to forward all web traffic to my ISP provided web page (eg http://my.webpage.ISP.com/account-name).
There is nothing magical about that URL. So I do not see any reason why you can not use your DynDNS.org name.

  • Deploying Azure Web Site and Custom Domain Name

I'm new to Azure and not at all familiar with the various methods of publishing to Azure via Git, etc. I belong to the old school of plain old IIS folder structures and uploading HTML files to Inetpub directory for deploying web contents.
I have created an Azure web site at
http://mysite.azurewebsites.net and have added a CNAME record on our DNS server to redirect traffic from www.mydomain.com to mysite.azurewebsites.net but to no avail. I have downloaded and installed the Azure
PowerShell but can't seem to do anything with it. Any advice on how to configure the custom domain name for my azure web site as well as how to deploy contents to it, preferrably the old school way, would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Azure web site support several development stacks, such as .net, node.js, php, python, and different stack has different deploy process, see more at:

    refer to

  • Help! Azure VM Web Server and Custom Domain Names

I am going to be pretty basic here, so I apologize at the start ;)....We are attempting to setup a web server for our customer applications in Azure. We need to setup the website with multiple subdomains i.e. ourcompany.com is the main site but we will have
    customer1.outcompany.com, customer2.ourcompany.com, etc....
I have a domain name registered with GoDaddy. I have a virtual machine up and running. I have a test website up and running and can access it externally ( the net ) so I do have endpoints figured out at minimum.
Example. the current virtual server is ourcompany01.cloudapp.net . Our registered domain name is ourcompany.com.
Using our domain registrar,I am able to point ourcompany.com to ourcompany01.cloudapp.net.
The problem is that I want our customers to see ourcompany.com not ourcompany01.cloudapp.net in the browser.
How do I make that happen and also allow for the subddomains?
Any help would be greatly apprciated as I am under the proverbial gun to make this happen!!!!

    Hello ShapopoJoe
You are right about making changes in your DNS Registrar. That is the last step that is suggested in the article:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cloud-services-custom-domain-name/
And about createing the sub domains, you will need to use the IP address. Since you would be creating more than one subdomains for your 'www.ourcompany.com', you will need to map them to Reserve IP address.
You can refer to this link for creating more Reserve IP address:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/blog/2014/05/14/reserved-ip-addresses/

  • How to publish custom web site with own domain name?

Hey out there. I wonder if anyone can give me any tips on how to publish a web site with my own domain name.
I have a web site I'm building and I want to purchase a domain name and then publish the site using that domain name.
I know how to buy a domain name. I have a .mac account so I'm hoping that .mac can host the site. What I don't quite understand how to do is get .mac to host the site using that domain name. I looked through Apple Support but couldn't find what I was looking for. Just wondering if anyone has been in this situation. Thanks in advance.

Dave ~ Welcome to the discussions. .Mac was re-branded as MobileMe last July. If you're not building your site with iWeb, it's considered to be a "custom" website. These Apple docs may help:
MobileMe: How to publish a custom website
iWeb ’08: Using your own domain name
...Use this search page to find such documents:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search
Note that you don't need to have iLife '08 to be able to direct your domain name to your custom website published to MobileMe. As someone wrote on another thread:
"My personal domain is linked to my MM but i don't even have ilife on my mac. When you go to the options in MM to link your personal domain to your MM it provides directions that will guide you with setting up your godaddy settings."
    ...Where "MM" is MobileMe here:
    http://me.com/account
...+Personal Domain+ tab, and "godaddy" is wherever your domain name is registered.

  • Multiple Web Sites with Personal Domain Names - Overview

I have read through the last 10 pages of these discussions and have almost worked this out, but I need some help.
    Problem:
I want to publish and edit two separate web sites with their own, individual, personal web addresses
from the same user account on the same Mac using iWeb '08 (2.0.2) and my .Mac account
    _So far:_
I have purchased and registered the two domain names (with Cheap-DomainRegistration.com)
I have configured the CNAME to point to web.mac.com, and "Set up a Personal Domain" in iWeb successfully, but using a separate Mac for each web site.
    The two sites work great.
_What (I think) I need to know:_
(excuse me for copying these posts out, but I can't find a way to link them to this post)
    1) Should I be using iWebSites as suggested by Old Toad (posted Jan 24 in response to StAnNe's "Multiple Websites--HELP!!!")?
I use iWebSites to manage multiple sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
    2) Should I be using Mireille's approach (also posted Jan 24 in response to StAnNe's "Multiple Websites--HELP!!!")?
Yes you are correct in the thought that with a family pack you can use different accounts and that is the easiest way to upload with one click to .mac. But it is still possible to publish differents sites to one .mac account if that is all one has. Even if the sites are in one domain file each purchased mysite.com domain name purchased can be pointed to a different page in the site
    Look at it this way
    Original Poster has
site1 page 1 page 2 and so on
then he/she has brothersite page 1 and so on.
They each have a domain name purchase wherever
then site1domain.com is forwarded to site 1 page1
and brotherdomain.com is forwarded to brothersite page 1.
Even though both sites are in the same file they do not have anything to do with each other.
This is one possibility there are others but for a novice user this could be the way to go for simplicity.
(Mireille, if you're there, can you clarify what you said - thank you)
    3) Would I use Roddy's fix (posted Jan 23 in response to canadensis' "Publishing Multiple Websites?")?
Here's an example of how you can separate two websites that are on the same domain file.
    Quit iWeb
Create a new folder on your desktop and call it "iWeb Sites".
Inside this folder create two more - Website A, Website B.
Go to Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb and copy your domain file - command C
Paste this into folders A and B - command V - and also paste a copy of it somewhere else - like in Docs - in case you make a mistake!
Double click the domain file in the folder Website A - this will launch iWeb.
In the left column, delete site B, save and quit iWeb.
Double click the domain file in the folder Website B to launch iWeb.
Delete website A, save and quit.
Drop the iWeb sites folder into your Home Folder.
If you want quick access to this folder you can highlight it and do command L to create an alias to leave on the desktop.
From now on, to launch any site in iWeb you open its folder in the iWebsites folder and double click the domain file.
This is not necessary when you are working on only one site as iWeb saves the domain file of the last site you were working on to Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb. When you open the iWeb application, the last site you worked on will be launched.
    Summary:
I'm not sure if some of the answers in previous discussions allow for personal domain names, which is what I need.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions as I'm getting bogged down.
    Many Thanks,
    Jeff

When you said, "you don't need to do CNAME for both sites…", would this method still allow me to use personal web addresses for both sites?
Yes. With "Ordinary Forwarding" you normally just type your .Mac url (web.mac.com/username/sitename) into a form at the place where you have your name.
I thought I was using 'web.mac.com' as the 'www' CNAME (alias) for my personal domain name (web address), so that when someone typed in my personal domain name they would 'go' to the domain registration location, which would then pass it on to the .Mac server, where my web site is hosted.
That's exactly right. It's just not the only way to do that. Ordinary Forwarding is another way, but it differs in terms of what appears in the address bar of the browser. Either you will see web.mac.com/username/.... or, if you add "masking", you will see your personal name for all pages. The CNAME method results in a address bar that reads www.myname.com/sitename/pagename.html.
    Am I way off?
    All help gratefully received,
    Jeff

  • MVC OWIN Application hosted in Azure fails with custom domain names

I am not entirely sure if this is the proper forum for OneDrive API questions, but hoping this is close enough or can be redirected.
I am working on integrating Microsoft Account authentication into my application, and in testing have based it off of the VS 2013 MVC starting template.  Everything works fine if I set my target domain and redirect url to be sitename.azurewebsites.net
    / sitename.azurewebsites.net/signin-Microsoft respectively.
However, this site has a custom domain associated with it, so I would like to actually point to use
    www.sitename.com /
www.sitename.com/signin-Microsoft under my dev account settings for this application.  When I am in this configuration, I consistently get the following error:
We're unable to complete your request
Microsoft account is experiencing technical problems. Please try again later.
Accessing www.sitename.com works fine.  How can I configure this to work with my actual domain name versus the azure name?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Rob,
Can you contact me at [email protected] with the actual domain name that you are trying to register so that I can take a closer look?
    Thanks,
    Toan

  • .Mac gallery in iweb site with custom domain name

This is my first post on the boards and I want to say that switching from pc to mac has been one of the greatest moves of my life. Anyways Im a photographer and have my own domain name. Ive created a site in iweb with .mac photo galleries on it. To upload the site I used an external ftp loader. The site looks great but when I click on the galleries it takes me to the .mac gallery page and there is no link to get back to the home page.

When you create the link to a .Mac gallery, check the box "Open link in new window" in the "link" inspector.

  • How does work Azure web sites with custom domain?

I am new in Azure. I am going to create a website or cloud service in Azure. Then I would like client to access them from custom domain, such as myweb.mydomain.com actually will map to real site/service in Azure.
In this case, will client see the real URL in browser? Or they can see this redirection from their network traffic monitoring?
I wonder their IT may only allow user access *.mydomain.com and block any traffic to third party DNS.

    Hi
Your Azure website in terms of hosting web apps is just like other web hosting services so when you register a tenant and add a domain, you need to verify that domain by setting the DNS for the tenant you created to your domain's admin control panel.
Here is the reference on how you can do this:

  • Custom domain name pointing issues

    Hi
I've set my custom domain name for my webpages and it is working fine - www.domain.com points to my iweb site. But how can i make sure that domain.com (without the www.) also points to my iweb site? I know I could change settings on my domain registrar (godaddy) and create an A record but it requires an IP address to point to...
    Any ideas?

But how can i make sure that domain.com (without the www.) also points to my iweb site?
Please read the 3rd bullet on the godaddy instructions
    http://help.godaddy.com/topic/163/article/4100
I know I could change settings on my domain registrar (godaddy) and create an A record but it requires an IP address to point to...
If you want to do it that way, you use the IP for web.me.com You can find this at any of the countless websites which let you look up IP's.

  • Azure AD user name not using configured custom domain name

I have configured a few users for Lync Online that I setup before I had custom domain name work with Azure AD.  Now I have the custom domain setup and verified and configured as the primary domain.  The users that were configured for Lync
Online are still displayed with the *.onmicrosoft.com username in Azure AD.
Is there a way I can change these users so their usernames use our custom domain?

You can easily change the UPN via PowerShell:
Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName [email protected] -NewUserPrincipalName [email protected]
If you want to do this in bulk for all users, you can use something like this:
    $all = Get-MsolUser -All
    $users = $all | ? {$_.UserPrincipalName -match "tenant.onmicrosoft.com"}
    $users | % {Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -UserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName -NewUserPrincipalName $_.UserPrincipalName.Replace("tenant.onmicrosoft.com","domain.com")}
Test it first against a single user of course :)

  • Custom Domain name for Azure virtual machine using azure websites

Hie, I am using a cloud service (e.g cloud1) and it has a hosted VM in it (Windows server 2012). It is having a URL cloud1.cloudapp.net. So I want to use the domain name (e.g azuresite1.azurewebsites.net)created from azure.
So how do I add the Cname record and everything in this setup .
      I already tried to use
    this but that didn't work
What additional steps are required to add custom domain name to an azure virtual machine and, the custom domain name is also an azure website

If you want to use azuresite1.zurewebsites.net then i think, you have to create a azurewebsite. If you have a custom domain then following should work.
You have findout the IP that is attached to the VM.
Point your domain name to that IP (using domain dashboard)
Now your domain points to whatever the site hosted on the VM (port 80)
If you have more sites then, you have specify HostName for the site which you want to use with domain name.
Try and let me know if this helped.

How do I add URI web link with custom tooltip like "CLICK HERE TO UPDATE" instead of URI web link in tooltip.

You've probably found an answer to this by now, but I think this has been addressed in another forum -- The link below suggested using a button and adding the tooltip to the button.
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/304974?start=0&tstart=0
Sounds like it would work but I haven't actually tried it.
    Good luck~!

  • Add Gmail account with custom domain to mail

    Hi there,
I've added my standard Gmail account to the Mail app on my macbook air 2013 but i also have a school email from Google that I would like to add as well. This email uses a custom domain name so instead of [email protected] it would be [email protected] I've tried to add it in as a google account and as 'other' but i can't seem to make it work. Would be much appreciated if someone could walk me through the steps.
If you have any questions let me know!

I finally figured out my workaround (I'm using Mavericks).
Go into Mail and Add Account.  Then do what wubie317 says, select "Add other account" DO NOT select Google / Gmail.
You will then be asked to enter the mail server addresses for Gmail.  The info is below.  Good luck!
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    imap.gmail.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL:Yes
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - Requires SSL:
    pop.gmail.com
    Use SSL: Yes
    Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires TLS or SSL
    smtp.gmail.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Use same settings as incoming mail server
Full Name or Display Name: [your name]
Account Name or User Name: your full Gmail address ([email protected]). Google Apps users, please enter user...@your_domain.com
Email address: your full Gmail address ([email protected]) Google Apps users, please enter user...@your_domain.com
