Hello,
I have to generate a csv file when executing a report.
I execute the report from forms. User should click a botton if he wants execute the report.
The code used in wen-Button-pressed is:
web.show_document
('/reports/rwservlet? report=D:\GLRACRT01.jsp&userid=apps/apps@ga1d_dv24&DESTYPE=CACHE&desformat=DELIMITED&DELIMITER=;&DESNAME=D:\GLRACRT01.csv');
host('C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE D:\GLRACRT01.csv');
THis works but the output is not correct. columns' headers are shown as columns value and not as columns headers

  • Problems with Secure web.show_document! Nimphius Help!!

    In my application, every report node in the menu calls a form which loads the parameters for the report. Ive read the secure web.show_document whitepaper, and i've done everything on the white paper and everytime I try to open the form that invokes the java bean "USERID_BEAN" the form crashes the application.
    Since no errors can be found on a application crash, I tried to compile it in forms and run it as a stand alone form. This is the error I get.

    If I am remembering correctly, some changes were necessary in order to make this work with 10.1.2.3. So, if you are using the old jar which you used in previous versions, I would recommend obtaining the one specifically updated for 10.1.2.3. Refer back to the OTN page which has the download and choose the link that references the new version:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/techlisting10gR2.html
    Be sure to clear the client Jar cache before re-testing. This is not the same as the browser cache.

  • Help: Passing parameter to WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT problem.

    In the following sample code:
    DECLARE
    rep_url varchar2(2000);
    BEGIN
    rep_url:=‘/reports/rwservlet?server=repserv10g@fnimphiu-pc&report=reptest.rdf’
    ||’&desformat=htmlcss&destype=cache&userid=scott/tiger@orcl’
    ||’&p_deptno=10&paramform=no’;
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(rep_url,’_blank’);
    END;
    Instead of hard coding, I tried to pass a made assignment to &p_deptno by writing:
    &p_deptno=:PARAMETER.p_depno
    where :PARAMETER.p_depno is an existing parameter with value. It does not work.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance.
    Jimmy

    Not sure if this is what you want, are you trying to hide the value or just assign it when web-show_document is called:
    rep_url:=‘/reports/rwservlet?server=repserv10g@fnimphiu-pc&report=reptest.rdf’
    ||’&desformat=htmlcss&destype=cache&userid=scott/tiger@orcl’
    ||’&p_deptno='||:PARAMETER.p_deptno||'&paramform=no’;
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(rep_url,’_blank’);
    You will see the value in the URL, but it will populate the value when web.show_document is called.

  • To access pdf files from application server using web.show_document

    Hello!
    If my pdf file is copied in Oracle_home/forms90/java directory.Then using web.show_document i can access the pdf file.But I can't copy all the pdf files in /forms90/java directory.We have lacs of pdf files which I want to keep in my own directory.But my requirement is if my pdf file is in /home2/docs directory in (Linux application server) ie in my own directory where I store all the pdf files.Then web.show_document does not open the pdf file.It says page cannot be displayed.For that I think we have to configure the directory /home2/docs directory as a webserver.From otn I got something like forms90.conf file in application server where we have to set virtual directory mapping etc.If the pdf is in local machine then in orion-web.xml file we have to mention real path and save the file and shutdown oc4j instance and restart it again.I tried it.But it is not working.Can u give me step by step instructions to solve this problem.I found a few links in discussion forum.But is doesn't work out.My pdf file is in /home2/docs directory in Linux application server.Please treat it as urgent.

    Hi Sandeepmsandy,
    There is no available code sample for this scenario. You may write your own.
    Step 1: Get pdf URL from sqlite database. Please refer to the following MSDN blog and see a code sample.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/robertgreen/archive/2012/11/13/using-sqlite-in-windows-store-apps.aspx. Note, you need to retarget the project to 8.1 and then get two sqlite packages from NuGet before building this sample.
    Step 2: Use some special classes to get file from serer.
    HttpWebRequest can help download small pdf files. For more information to see
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsapps/en-US/de96a61c-e089-4595-8349-612be5d23ee6/download-file-with-httpwebrequest?forum=winappswithcsharp. It’s easy for use, but if you want to download the larger or many files, it’s recommend to use
    BackgroundTransfer namespace. The classes in this namespace provide a power way to transfer files in the background. See a code sample from MSND.
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Background-Transfer-Sample-d7833f61.

  • Web.show_document() with .csv-Files

    Hallo,
    when I try to show a .csv-file using web.show_document in MS-Excel I'm facing the following problem:
    Depending on the windows-settings (?) before showing the Excel-sheet the browser opens an alert 'open/save file'.
    When this alert is activated the web.show-document() is not successfull, that means: it seems that the browser tries to open the new window but it immediatly 'crashes' (I'm using '_blank' as parameter).
    When this alert is not activated everything works perfect.
    My guess is that it has something to do with whith the javascript-problem under XP-SP2. (i also can't get javascript working together with web.show_document).
    Enviroment is: Forms 10g, Windows XP SP2, MS-IE (Mozilla works fine), 10g iDS and iAS
    any ideas?
    tia
    Frank

    Hello,
    already done, doesn't help.
    The odd thing is: when I type the url web.show_document should show directely into the IE (with virtual pathname) the alert shows up, I can choose 'open' and it works (thats the way I get rid of the alert). It seems to me that showing the alert somehow causes the problem in combination with web.show_document.
    I have a similar problem with javascipt. When I type it directly into the browser everything works fine, from web.show_document .. no way.
    So my guess was that maybe the alert itself uses javascript. I dont know much about java and browsers and so its really only a guess.
    The Alert I'm talking about is the following (modulo translation errors):
    do you want to open or save the file
    Name... / Type... /from....
    open/save/cancel -Buttons
    checkbox: always ask before opening a file of this type

  • Web.show_document working with abnormal parameter

    I was opening some web pages from forms 10g using:
         web.show_document(url, '_blank');
    in a button pressed trigger. That worked fine, except it continually opened new pages. If the button is pressed 10 time, 10 pages opened one after another. I was giving warning to the user about this quirk.
    Then while debugging I happened to edit the code and change it to:
         web.show_document(url, '_blank;');
    With the semicolon at the end of _blank parameter the pages now open in one browser window, replacing itself if the button is repeatedly pressed. This is exactly the functionality I want. However, I can't find any documentation that uses any parameter for web.show_document other then the standard ones without semicolons included.
    Does anyone know if this is safe to do?

    Hi,
    You can use below different parameters depends on your requirements. To view documentation press ctrl+h in forms builder,  use search feature to locate the topic.
    '_self' Causes the document to load into the same frame or window as the source document.
    '_parent' Causes the target document to load into the parent window or frameset containing the hypertext reference. If the reference is in a window or top-level frame, it is equivalent to the target _self.
    '_top' Causes the document to load into the window containing the hypertext link, replacing any frames currently displayed in the window.
    '_blank' (default) Causes the document to load into a new, unnamed top-level window. Note that these targets are lowercase and enclosed in single quotation marks.
    hope this help you.

  • WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT opens additiional IE browser.

    Hi All,
    I am using web.show_document (web.show_document('file:///file_name','_blank') ) to open pdf and msg files stored at a location. For PDF files, web.show_document works fine and pdf file gets open. However for msg (email) files, a new browser gets open along with msg file. User need to close this additional browser.
    Also the word files opens in IE browser. We need not to open MS office files in IE browser.
    Any suggestions to overcome this issue.

    Edited by: Vinit on Feb 21, 2011 2:37 AM

    Vinit,
    Your code explicetly opens a new "Blank" browser window. The reason the new browser window goes away with the .pdf files is because you have an OS MIME association for .pdf's which controls how the file is opened on the OS. Clearly, there is no MIME association for the other file types.
    web.show_document (web.show_document('file:///file_name','_blank') )Try '_self' or '_parent' in place of '_blank'. For more information on the Web.Show_Document built-in please check the Forms Help system.

  • Web.show_document opening in the same window urgent

    Hi,
    I am using web.show_document to run all my reports from webforms 10g Release 2, it is working fine, and we have used a DLL to avoid the extra explorer window while opening the webforms it basically hide the extra window at client side, this is also working fine, now when the user opens multiple sessions and then he try to run a report the report output is coming and replacing all the other webforms opened (this is happening if i have multiple session opened) if there is only one session then everything is fine.
    In my formsweb.cfg "separate frame=true" and then at the client side i am hiding the extra explorer window using webutil & window handle, am calling my report using web.show_document with target= "_blank" now if i open two session at client side i will have only two application window the extra explorer windows will be hidden, in this case if i try to fire a report the report works fine but it replacing the 2nd application window.
    Hope i had explained the scenario. Could anyone help me out to solve this problem?
    Thanks & Regards

  • Open files located in AS by using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

    Hi ,
    I need to open some documents in the client machience, documents are located in the AS .
    This method is working,
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://<server_name>:<port>/forms/java/myFile.doc');
    but the problem is, documents should be in the ORACLE_HOME/Forms/Java or its sub path. but i want to keep the documents out side the ORACLE_HOME. Any body can help me?, i think we have to do some configurations in the formsweb.cfg or forms.cfg file.
    Also, is there any other better solution to open the documetns(PDF/DOC/XLS) in the client machine, but the files are located in the AS.
    Thanks in advance
    Rizly

    add another virtual directory to your forms.conf file referening the real directory outside your ORACLE_HOME
    forms.conf is in same loaction as formsweb.cfg
    eg
    # Virtual path for all my documents PDF/XLS/DOC
    AliasMatch ^/forms/mydocs/(..*) "F:\path_to_my_doc_dir/$1"
    you have to restart your http server and OC4J forms services after modification

  • Reports 9i Printing from Forms with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

    I want to print a Report from Forms via WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT directly to the printer and it works fine.
    But every time i print it from my web application a new browser-windows opens and shows a message "Printed successfully" or something like that. If I start the printjob again nothing happens - if I press the Browser-Refresh-Button in the new Browser-Windows with the Message ("Printed Successfully") it prints.
    So now I have 2 questions:
    a) How can I disable the "Printed successfully"-Message
    b) What hava I to do that I not must press on the Refresh-Button to start the printing again
    I hope I hava explained my problem clearly. 4
    Here ist the complet WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT-Command I fire in Forms when a Button is pressed:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://mymachine:8888/reports/rwservlet?report=testreport.rdf&destype=printer&desname=\\NTS32\VZ_D3&desformat=html&userid='|| sUser ||'/'|| sPW ||'@'|| sDB,'_blank');
    Many thanx for your help!
    Regards
    Marc

    b) What hava I to do that I not must press on the Refresh-Button to start the printing again
    may be it just a setting in your Browser ?
    For Internet Explorer :
    go to I.E General Options screen. click on settings button and choose
    "Every visit to the page " option.

  • Problem with web.show_document with Jinitiator and Firefox

    Not sure Firefox 2.0 is officially certified with Forms 9.0.4.1 and Jinitiatorbut regardless we have some users who want to use this combination. Everything seems to work fine except for the calls to web.show_document which opens a new browser window and displays some html etc.
    The problem is that even though the client Forms JVM is Jinitiator (1.3.1.18 or .21) when the call to web.show_document occurs somehow the Sun Java Plugin starts and having the two JVM's at once causes a fatal crash in Firefox. Can anyone suggest a way to preven the second JVM from opening?
    When the user uses the Sun Plug as the client Forms JVM there is no problem as the second JVM does not open. Unfortunately some users insist on Jinitiator with Firefox hence the problem. -quinn

    James,
    This whole applet embedded in a browser model for webforms is driving us batty at times. The list of problems includes:
    1) Users are constantly tempted by browser controls and accidentally do all sorts of things to get them in trouble. This has included but not limited to using the navigation arrows, jumping off to read their email in the same window as the form and returning to a dead forms session, minimizing, resizing, blurring off to another window and then returning back by clicking on the title bar of the browser and wondering why the form doesn't tab etc.
    Sure hobbling the browser by opening with limited functionality is a possibility but not a complete solution.
    2) New versions of browsers seem to break something. Both IE 7 and Firefox 2 have their own problems with web.show_document, especially file associations such as CSV and DBF and trying to open things in Excel in IE7.Firefox seems to have less problems for some yet some some oddities like the one that started this thread (and 2.0 opening new windows in tabs by default instead of windows).
    3) JVM jigsaw puzzle. Is it Jinit or Sun, which versions? Which combinations of browser version and JVM works.
    4) General fragility of the whole architecture. Running a client JVM in a web browser on top of a PC Operating system connectiong to a forms server over a network embedded in a Java Container server on a full blown web server running on a unix operating system is pushing the bubble. Throw in the mix that any of these components can be combined in numerous ways makes one wonder how it works as well as it does.
    Still users randomly getting dropped connections to forms server (network gltches?). General sluggishness (poorly written forms?). Periods of users with unduplicatable errors primarily network related it would appear.
    General feel that it is not rock solid stable. Perusing metalink documents on performance and tuning gives too much and too general info to troubleshoot so just shrug shoulders and say 'network problem'.
    What's the solution? Java webstart would seem to help at least with the browser realted issues but is that supported and documented how to use yet. Also we'd lose web_show_document which is critical (could it be replaced by webutil calls to open browser?).
