Web Signup for email accounts on leopard

Hi folks,
I have a request from a customer who is running email services on OS X Server 10.5.1 for one of their internal subdomains - what They're asking for is to provide a way for users to sign up for email accounts from a web page hosted on the same leopard server that is hosting the email accounts for this subdomain.
Does anyone know if this has been done already or if it can be done? If so, could you point me to a link?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Don't know of any readymade solution. It can certainly be done but will require some work. Also, unless you re-build postfix, what comes with OS X Server is not tied to mail only accounts.
If you really need this functionality, I'd probably re-compile postfix with MySQL support and then use something like Postfixadmin.
Either way will work, but is not easy to accomplish.

Need web address for email redirector!!! Help

Ok, I am a newbie to the blackberry. My work will not allow me (via their enterprise server) to connect so I want to know how to set up the email on my computer and leave it on. It says I need to have a web address from my provider (Verizon for the phone). What is it?
Also I do not see email redirector on my blackberry desktop software that came with my phone.
Can some one help me with my two problems and give me step by step instructions?

Try adding your Comcast email address as an account use: mail.comcast.net for pop3 and smtp.comcast.net. For outgoing.
This will give you give you access to your comcast email at work. If you are not able to , this is verification of the IT policy.
They have a BB server, but will not let me use it because I do not have a work issued phone (very common in most BES companies)
When I create a rule in Outlook at work to forward to my Comcast email it does not work (IT guy thinks there may be a setting blocking it from the IT dept.) This is most likely why you cannot forward your email. IF an IT policy is in effect to block forwarding than neither
option, Comcast or Google will work.
If I try to use the Outlook web URL in my BB browser it will not work either

I went in to my web mail to use mail box manager but it says put in a comcast email address, a POP3 address, or an IMAP address
Mail.comcast.net is the pop3 address for Comcast
So based on all of this here are my questions:
Do I need to find out how our work email accounts are structured? (POP3, or some other conf.)
If I try loading the gmail as you suggest won't I still have the same problem having it not work if the rule I need to create in my work email is not functioning?
Sorry if I sound like a pain, but I am at a loss here and I am wondering if technically I am not getting what you are saying, or I am truly not going to be able to get my work emails on my BB.
What do you suggest now for me? Was I clear on all the facts I know and do I need to find out anything else from work?

How can i set up different ring tones for email accounts?

Hello all,
I have about 6 different email accounts on my iPhone. From exchange server (work email) to my personal yahoo and google accounts plus my personal business account. Is there a possibility to set up different ringtones for each of the emails separately?
I monitor my email very closely as I work for a 24-7 emergency call center and I would like to have a way to differentiate my emails by the rintone assigned to them. My work email goes off all the time, but i can't tell which is which and I hate picking up my phone or stopping what i'm doing for just a junk email.
Also would there also be an option for high priority emails to have a different ringtone as well?

Why will Firefox 4 no longert allow me access to a Domino web access/IBM email account that I was accessing with the previous version of Firefox?

I have an email account at a university where I am teaching. My email address there is [email protected] . With the previous version of Firefox I was able to access my email account. After I installed Firefox 4, I no longer have access to this account. Instead I get a message telling me to reload from my browser, but I cannot see how to do this. I need to have access to this email account from my desktop computer, and so I was thinking of uninstalling Firefox 4. Also, on another website that I use as my home page, which is www.marketamerica.com/signewaller , I had it set up to automatically remember my username and password when going to my "back office" from that site, but now after installing Firefox 4 I have to retype my username and password.

I deleted the account on my ASUS email at settings. The ASUS appeared to delete the Yahoo email account, but when I clicked on the shortcut, my yahoo email had updated and everything looks good.

Constant request for email account password

30 days ago all of my Verizon.net email accounts started to request the password. After entering the password I get the email. Then without exiting out of Outlook the next push of email requires the password to be entered again. I've verified all of the passwords are correct by logging in through Webmail and again thought Outlook. I have exhausted every potential fix from Microsoft and have proven this is a Verizon issue. I have two other email domains one being Gmail and the other is from my website which is a .com and these do not require a password each time I receive or send email.
Anyone have any ideas? I hate to call the support number since you end up with script readers and go through the same process I've seen listed in tis forum. This one looks like something for the level 2 or 3 support team.

I would suggest that anyone having this issue verify they have updated their servers to the NEW server settings of pop.verizon.net / smtp.verizon.net instead of the old incoming/outgoing servers.
For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes
Username: fakeacct
Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 465
If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal
These settings should work unless you have a Verizon/Yahoo account, in which case the server names are: incoming.yahoo.verizon.net -and- outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
If all of that is set up and it's still not working, your best bet is to provide a screenshot of your settings (with personal information blocked/removed) and any errors you are getting.

Spam blocking for email accounts

Anyone know how to block spam ads from email accounts? I have both work and personal email accounts--spam only coming in on on personal. I've installed Lookout Mobile Security, but doesn't stop the 7-10 product ads per day from coming into my inbox. Verizon tech assistance was courteous and helpful, but wrong. They're the ones who told me to install Lookout Mobile Security. It may work for antivirus, but doesn't stop spam.

"Add BCC" as an option for Email Account Settings

One very much appreciated option on the BB OS devices was the ability to set a fixed BCC email address for individual email accounts. I know that I can add it to individual messages but it is cumbersome to do this for every email. Could BB please re-introduce this feature to BB 10?

How to configure server side discovery for email account configuration as an email provider ?

Hello,
I would like to know if there is any way to provide configuration settings for a regular (not Exchange) email account on server side (email provider side) ?
iPhone is supporting autodiscover for Exchange but doesn't seem to support it for regular POP or IMAP mail accounts.
I would like to avoid going through Profiles.

A further restriction of team workspaces and their inbox is that you cannot write mails on behalf of the tws's address.
Also, you cannot define aliases on the inbox of a tws. There is an open ER 8824582: CREATE AN ALIAS FOR A TEAM WORKSPACE'S EMAIL ADDRESS
Furthermore, you need to wait for 2.1 to have IMAP access on tws's (we definitely hope 2.1 will bring this feature).
All this brought us to the decision of not using tws's inboxes at all (not defining mail addresses for them), and use (pseudo) personal workspaces and delegation for functional inboxes.

i tried the password manager settings, but did not see a list of sites in the exceptions list!
the "always use private browsing feature" is not checked off in my privacy settings!
the "clear history when firefox closes" feature is not checked off in my privacy settings!
i do not have password manager software embedded in my antivirus software!
the "remember password" prompt does not always operate!!! i do not always see this when attempting to log into my email accounts, especially if entering a new email address!!

hello, websites can specify if browsers should be able to save username/passwords (through the autocomplete="off" attribute in the login form in the html source code) - this is often the case when a higher level of security is presumably required by those sites.
you can either [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/remember-passwords/ install an addon] or [https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password use a bookmarklet] to circumvent this restriction.

No SENT BOX listed for Email account

I have the 3G with ver 2.1
My problem is I'm unable to send Email messages from 4 of my 6 Email (Pop) accounts. After I compose the message and hit Send, it disappears and never again to be seen anywhere. Those that fail do not give me the sending indication with that familiar "swoosh" sound. They all receive emails fine. No problems in that direction. What I do find in common with the 4 bad ones are they have no Sent" box category showing under its account. None of the 4 display a Sent Box. The 2 good ones do display Sent boxes. Seems that if I can get those Sent Boxes back, I'll be ok. Question is, how do I do it? Hoping someone out in the Apple Orchard had this problem before and can pass on their findings.

With a POP account, the account's Sent mailbox is created or should be created automatically when sending a message with the account. The only mailbox that is created automatically after initially creating a POP account is the account's inbox mailbox. The account's Drafts mailbox will not be created until saving a message as a Draft, the account's Trash mailbox will not be created until selecting a message for deletion, and the account's Sent mailbox will be created when sending the first message with the account. There is no other way to create these mailboxes.
For one of these problem POP accounts without a Sent mailbox, try deleting and recreating the account followed by sending a message with the account.

Where can I change outgoing ports for email accounts?

I'm grasping at straws here. My outgoing email just stopped working. It says the servers are offline, but the connection doctor shows ALL of them being just fine. I'm on the line with tech support now, and they can't see anything wrong. Just trying to think of everything I can.

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information, click on the arrows beside the name of the SMTP -- is the box to use this SMTP only checked?
After clicking on the arrows, select Edit Server List -- under the first tab the server and name should be listed. Then if you click on the Advanced tab, you will see the Port selection mechanism. If you know the port it should always use, you may want to select Use Custom Port and enter that number, and PW, Username if required.

Thunderbird asks for password but won't accept the right one for email account

Just installet Thunderbird on my Mac and I know my password but TB is asking for it every time I start the program and I retype it but it won't accept it over and over again. I use iCloud and all is right configured by the auto installation

Cannot use thunderbird anymore for email accounts.

Cannot access gmail or outlook with Tbird. have set to allow all in each mail server settings. uninstalling t bird to old and tired of shitnot working and trying to always trouble shootit.
