Web site appears different without "www" entered in location bar.

Hello, I've just created a web site, www.danwoodard.com. When I type in "www.danwoodard.com" everything appears as it should. However, if I omit the "www" and enter only "danwoodard.com" the site is much larger than it should be. This does not happen with other browsers on my computer. Can anyone suggest what might be happening? Thank you.

Firefox remembers your zoom setting individually for each web page, and considers "www.danwoodard.com" and "danwoodard.com" to be different pages.
Firefox will behave the same for other users, who will have the same problem if they have set a different zoom factor for each of those pages.

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Untitled web site appears with each normal web site

Each time I go to a web site, an untitled web site appears on my bar.
Can be closed but is a pain.

You can check the connection settings.

Since I upgraded to Firefox version 3.6.10, clicking on the downward arrow at the right end of the location bar no longer displays the drop-down list of sites visited, bookmarks and addresses typed in location bar. My Tools > Options > privacy setting is to save history, and if I start typing a previously accessed website's address in the location bar, then the full address appears as a drop-down item. But not when I just click at the right end of the bar.

You can try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.

How can you post MP3's on your web site to different forums

I was told you have to put your MP3's on a web site and then attach the URL to the comunity forum you want to put them on . However I was told the MP3's you put on your web site do not have URl's to them. Does anyone know how to attach your MP3's to web sites from a Mac?

You need to put those files on the web server that you use and then link to them. If you had a MobileMe account and put the files in the Music folder on your iDisk the link would be:

If you wanted to just put a text link to the file it would look like this:

If the site doesn't support HTML but uses BBCode the link would be:

The key is to put the files on your server, get the URL to their location and use it.

Editing web site from different computers

I'm working on a web site for a journalism class with another mac user. She registered for the 60 day .mac trial. How do I open up the web site on my computer so we can both edit it??? thanks!

The trick, in your case, however, is that you can't both work on it at the same time. You will have to send a thumb drive (or a CD or something) back and forth.

How do you add a web site to a folder in the iMac Bookmarks Bar?

Safari 6.0.5 does not have a "+" left of the URL. According to the Apple Safari video, that is how you add a web site to a folder in the Bookmarks bar.

Drag the website "icon" from the URL bar into the folder in the Bookmarks Bar.

Firefox does not now find web sites unless full url is entered

Since I updated Firefox, I keep getting the message:-
Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-GB/locale/browser-region/region.propertiesyahoo.
All other web browsers that I use would pick up the entry 'yahoo' immediately. [I use the yahoo search as an example.]
This happens with the majority of searches now. I have given up trying to use the firefox search engine and wonder if it is worth the time using it at all if I forget and typr in the search only to have to re-do it again after receiving the above message. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem here?

I'm afraid that site doesn't work either for me with Safari 3.0.4 on OS X 10.4.11.
The page appears to load but only displays a blank page.

2nd published site only works WITHOUT "www"

I will try to explain my problem as best I can. I have my main site publish to a personal domain, let's call it www.MainSite.com. Now I want to set up a new site, which is a second site on my iWeb domain file, and can be accessed without problems at www.MainSite.com/New_Site.html.
I have the main site set up with GoDaddy with the CNAME forwarding to web.mac.com. No problems there. But when I set up my new domain to forward to www.MainSite.com/New_Site.html, it only works properly when you type in NewSite.com and www.NewSite.com brings up a login prompt for my iDisk.
All I want is for my second iWeb site to be independent from the first.

Firstly, if you have two websites, then it might be a good idea to separate them out. You can do this by copying the domain.sites file and having one site per file. You can then publish separately.
Secondly, the CNAME and personal domain name option can be used ONCE only for every .Mac account. To set up your new site you need to use the web forwarding option. However, you need to create forwarding to web.mac.com/username/sitename. If you do this it should take you to the new site.

Web page appears different when located on local server

I was editing a web page that is already up and running. Downloaded a copy to my local PC and everything was fine.
Copied all the code to my local Microsoft Windows 2003 server and now the pages appear wrong.
If the file is uploaded back to a website - it appears fine.
This only happens in IE to my knowledge.
My guess is that it is a setting in IE, but I do not know which one.
This is a screen shot showing the bottom of the first page. You can see part of the box is showing up below the bottom of the box which has rounded corners and a drop shadow.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Why does my site appear differently in Chrome to IE

Hello.
This problem has been bothering me for some time.
I got asked to make a website for our work (I did some Web Design at uni, but I have pretty much been learning on the go doing this).
It all looks fine in Chrome and FireFox but when you open it up in Internet Explorer, the formatting on the front page looks very wrong, as the marquees are miles apart instead of sitting on top of each other like they should do.
I was just wondering if anyone had any idea as to why this would be happening/how to fix it because I'm all out of ideas.
