"Web template as web item" icon missing

Hi all,
We are current on BW 3.5. I am now in the process of using the above functionality. I notice that the icon is missing from the "standard library" I can manually insert the code via the HTML table.
My question is how do I get the icon to appear in the standard library as I have a few of the web templates. I expected that this icon would appear automatically as part of the upgrade.

I also have same problem with my BW 3.5 system.
its not showing the icon ( Object Expanded/Collapsed ) infront of the Navigation/Table/Conditions/Filter values..etc..
And i selected the " Expert Mode " in WAD settings.
Can anyone help me in this! ?

Web items not visable in PDF.

Hi all,
I'm using a generic "display"-web template in WAD. Printing, "Print Version" button, this template from a browser the standard analysis and chart are displayed in the PDF output file. If a add a new web item, like Analysis, the browser is showing the new added web item. But when I print this report, the new added web item is missing, not shown.
Any ideas what the solution is for this problem?

Hi Coen,
Yes, you have to choose by EXPORT Command by Data binding web items which should be exported.
If you did not choose anything all web items should be exported

Hello,
I tried to create a Web-Template (WAD). By executing the report, I get the selection screnn, but by confirming the selection I get the following message:
Web Item Report Error
Web template error in specifications for the Web item report
Parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing
Use the BEx Web Application Designer to add parameter REPORT to the report Web item in the Web template, and assign a report name to the parameter
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded
What can I do to solve this error?

As DP_1 Type Query_view_Data_provider, I have assinged a Query Designer Query wich works fine, if I execute it as QDR.
The entry Query_view_Data_provider makes sense for me, but what do I need to maintain for the type "Filter"?

Web application designer web item missing

Hi,
I have a problem with the WAD designer, when I'm designing a new web template and I drag and drop any web item to my template layout, the item appears without image and with a message "Table: Image missing". I try to solve the problem deleting the wad cache, and eve reinstalling the SAP GUI, but it still happening.
Can anyone help me please!!

Debugging a web item when executing a web template in BI7

Hi,
I would like some help in the following
1> Class name (or package that contains all the class/methods) when a particular SAP delivered web item get executed in a Web template in SAP BI 7.0
2> whats the class that gets executed for an 'Analysis' WEB item in BI 7.0. Since it has a lot of properties, do we have multiple classes for each of these properties, for example when I remove a certain row or column by drag and drop, what methods gets executed? And how do I figure out the methods for a particular function
3> eventually I would like to debug through this for trouble shooting, How do I go about debugging a web template
Can anybody help me in this? Really appreciate

Web Template Web items formating issue

Hi
Need some help with regards to the Web Application Designer Web items...
I am trying to create a web template with Tabs
I included a TABSTRIP web item and in that webitem i included Container(3)(as i need 3 tabs) and in First Container i included Chart and
in Second container i included Navigation Pane and Analysis Web Items....
here is the problem
The Navigation pane is appearing on top of Analysis(table) in outpu...BUT my requirment is the Navigation pane should appear on left hand side of Analysis
How can i achieve this

Web Template as web Item

Hi Experts,
Can we still use Web templates as an Web Item or not.
I am not getting Web Template as a WebItem in my Item list.At present I am in BW30B.
Please suggest if something needs to be done.
I need this for defining Header and Footer for the Web Template.

You can use web templates as web items (even save them in a library) in version BW 3.5.

Using Tab Pages & Web Template Web Items

Hi Experts,
i want to build a report with a tabs
i have created a WAD report with a tab page web item
in the tab page i have inserted three web template web items
and in each web item i have entered a diffrent technical name of a WAD report (3 reports)
but when i run the report i get in all three tab pages
the data of the first report (like it uses DP_1 of the first one)
i have tried to change in the reports the name of the data providers
to DP_7 or whatever and it is not working still.
any one know how to display three WAD reports in a tab page web item?

Web Template - Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working

Hi Experts,
In a Web Report & Web Template Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working ; Any body have any idead ?

Dear Karuna,
Review your default template. Probably is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
Reactive the version D and check again.
Also, you are able to modify the webitems on Export to Excel on 'BUTTON_TOOLBAR_2' -> Button list number 4.
And, you are able to check the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT, in case of configuration.
If you want to remove/add new items, I suggest you to save as another name. SAP does not allow to modify delivered objects
ex:. 0Objects.

How to Fix Table Header of Analysis Web Item in BEx Web Template

On the information you have supplied this has opened up yet another new part of WAD that I have not experienced ...TAGs
Shubhranshu - I have done what you said but as I have never used tags I have just had a look around and found that I can insert Any Tag but not sure if I should be doing that. If it is inert any tag , I chose FONT from the drop down and cbmAttributes defaulted into the custom tab for the class name but not sure what it wants in the Attributes and CSS Style tab, it won't accept what I am putting which is leading me to believe that I shouldn't be doing it that way.
Venkat - thanks for the links they will prove very useful. I've had a look and although they talk alot about the XHTML code for tags they don't actually say how you do it in the editor - I would like to produce one that way first and then see the code it generates for it. I'm a bit apprehensive with changing the code direct as I don't want to mess anything up.

Missing Web Items

Hello,
We have migrated from BW 3.0 to NW2004s SP13.
The users are complaining that some web items like broadcaster and whatifprediction is not available on portals.
1) What could be the issue with this after upgrade.
2) There is a migration of web items from 3.x to 7.0 Program:- RSZW_ITEM_MIGRATION_3X_TO_70 . will this solve the issue ?
3) If yes to point 2, Is RSZW_CHART_MIGRATION_35 required prior to step 2.
4) Is there any work around without going for step 2 & 3.

Do you mean BI 7.0 WAD does not have some web items?

Web Template - Filter web Item

Helle everyone,
I have a question in Web Application Designer. There are a filter web item which I can write or select the values. I mean, if the user remember the value, he Just write the value, but if he doesn't he can select his value fron other pop up window.
That I nee is something like the filters pane whe I excute a query that haver variable in the query designer. That I need is the field where I can write o choose the value of the variable.
Or how I can do that?

Web Item Report Error

I am running a web report that just has a query in it (testing). When I run it I get the error:
Web template error in specifications for the Web item report
The parameter REPORT for the Report Web item in the Web template is empty or missing
Add the Report Design (parameter REPORT) with the BEx Web Application Designer
Contact your system administrator. This error was recorded
Has anyone experienced this before?

I know this is a very old thread, but we just recently upgraded a sandbox to 7.0 and just trying out all the functionality.
I received the same error as the starter of this thread did but I'm just executing a query (that I created from the Query designer) on to the web (no WAD involved)... This function could've been calling the 0REPORT_DEFAULT_TEMPLATE where it's getting the error from. I reactivated the business content but I still couldn't resolve the problem.
That said, I couldn't really alter the business content using your suggestion for this because it is a template where other queries might be calling it... right? or am I missing something?

Hiding a web item through the command line URL

We use the Web API and command line processing heavily to pass in different filter values, variable values, data providers, etc. to our web reports. I had a requirement within a given area to launch our web reports with the Navigation block visible on the web template. In our commonly used 'default' web template, we currently allow the users to switch this item on/off once they are in the report, but we always have it come up Hidden initially.
My question is this: is there some trick to getting a web item property changed dynamically at execution time from Hidden=X to Hidden= ? I have tried numerous attempts to format a URL to change this behavior, but have been unsuccessful. A sample would be: &ITEM=GR6&MULTI=X&HIDDEN= --> this is intended to make all items with 'GR6' in the name unhidden. But in my case, it ends up making more web items visible than I want. Even specifying the Item name directly does not help.
I have also tried applying it in conjunction with a command sequence from the Web API docs. Is there a particular command that this has to go with (i.e. LDOC? RESET_WEB_ITEM? etc.)? We have a button on the web template that issues the command <SAP_BW_URL ITEM='GR6' MULTI='X' HIDDEN=''> when clicked -- this works fine. How do I apply the same type of logic to the initial URL within the command processing?
Any help would be appreciated. I know that I can resolve this by just creating a copy template with this web item set to Visible instead of Hidden at the launch. I was just thinking I could reuse the main web template and control it through the URL.

I'm trying to implement Tobias Kaufmann's How To Paper Web Printing with Excel.
Before calling the respective Abap classes from my web template, I want to hide the web item Hierarchical Filter Selection as this one comes out ugly when downloaded to Excel. So what I'm doing is, I first hide the Filter Selection and then call the Abap classes.
Here is the coding that I am using:

WAD: Push button not displaying some Web Items

Hi All,
I have a web template 7.x in which there is a push button for "Export to PDF". There are some changes carried out to this web template, to include one radio button web item. My requirement is to display this Web Item on the export to PDF page.
I have included this radio button web item in "Export to PDF" button list. However still it is not displayed on Export to PDF page.
Is there any other setting which i am missing?

As per SAP Note 1069368 which talks about the limitations of Export to PDF functionality in WAD 7, the following webitems alone are supported on Export to PDF:-
Supported Web items
Analysis item
Report item (see also the section 'Web application export with report items')
Chart item
Map item
Information item
Text item
List of conditions
List of exceptions
Images (only from the MIME repository, see Note 484390)
Thus Radio Button cannot be included in the exported PDF.
